We need to talk to someone about poor service and the resulting damage to our RV. We brought our RV to the San Bernardino, CA Camping World on July 25th 2016 to diagnose a leak and perform the necessary repairs.
Work Order # 14-3829928. The cost was $119 for the diagnosis and $1593.67 for the repair and new caulking of seams on the roof. In December we had significant rainfall at our house in Wrightwood. After the first of the year we went to get the RV ready for camping.
We found the entire interior saturated. The mattresses were dripping wet. All inside walls and vents had water on or in them. Camping World does not service the interior of the motorhomes so we took it to a RV repair place in Victorville (Affordable RV Work Order # 6915).
They surveyed the damage and reported it was major and it was the results of the re-sealing not being performed correctly nor completely. To date the roof and several panels have had to be removed completely. New parts have been ordered – some of which have been received. We expect repairs to be completed by April.
So far the cost is running at $14,000 with additional cost likely. We have had the entire process documented and photographed. And of course damage of this sort is not covered by insurance. We want to know what Camping World is going to do to make this right.
Please advise. Our next step is to engage legal assistance.
