Terrible Service at Camping World and Jayco is no better

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a 2022 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel luv the RV but nothing but issues I have had it worked on 2 times for the same thing BMPro issues and slide issues first time back in Jan 2023 they kept the RV for 3 weeks I called 5 times and not one return phone call fixed slide issue and changed new BMPro fast forward 2 months same issue again bad BMPro and slide issues still waiting on parts and approval from Jayco to proceed this time the service manger has called me and kept informed along the way, to be honest I do not feel comfortable it will be fixed correctly, I have been told to come pick up RV and take it until the new BMPro is approved, at this point I dont even feel safe taking it out anywhere that it wont break down I am completely frustrated and disappointed with my new purchase, I am stuck in the middle because Camping World is the only service center in my area that is Jayco approved for warranty work, my deal is I purchased the RV from Richardsons Rv and 3 months later they sold out to camping world just my luck.

False advertising

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Camping World - False advertising

Saw a travel trailer posted on Camping world Fort Myers. The unit listed as a 50amp with 2nd A/C perp.

I made an inquiry online and the internet sales team said the unit did have 50amp service. I bought the unit from Camping World Fort Myers. At the walk thru they told me the unit only had a 30amp service and no 2nd A/C perp. We I asked my sales person about this they responded.

Sorry it must be a mistake with there internet team or corporate office. There is nothing they can do about it. They have multiple units list for sale with the same options. But none of them have the options on the units.

And other stores are listing the same unit with the options. And the same thing they do not have the options on them. So it looks to be false advertising at multiple stores.

After getting the unit home. I find out that they gave me the wrong keys.

I can't lock the storage bins on the unit. And the main battery disconnect did not work. I have to disconnect the wire from the battery. To keep from draining the battery.

When I talked with my sales perp about these items. It felt like the store does not care about these items. He was trying to tell me that my unit does not have a disconnect on the unit. But when I tell him that there is a red main disconnect switch on the unit.

It must have stopped working from the time I picked up and drove it home.

I would watch for Camp World advertising items on a unit that are not on the units. Buyer beware

Hustled right from the start...

Camping World - Hustled right from the start...
Original review Apr 01, 2023

I bought from a dealership because i felt like they had service people that would go through the trailer and make sure everything was good and the trailer was fit to sell. That's not the case here.

They sold me the wrong adapter to start with but it only goes down hill from there. The floor has some wood rot that was hidden by not fully extending the slide. That wood rot is caused by a water leak. Water drips outside the trailer and the floor is wet inside.

I know very little about travel trailers so I thought i was going to the experts I could trust. That certainly isn't the case. I've had the trailer less than a week and i spend the first two nights with no power and now I have no water.

So overall this has been a horrible experience for me. I've made a huge investment in a trailer with issues that they knew, or should have known, would be a major problem.

Horrible communication

Horrible service

Horrible everything

I only feel taken advantage of and that's all I can pass on to anyone that will listen.

Kept my refundable deposit

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I dont post about a lot. So here is my rant.

I went to Camping World in bowling green ky to look at a camper. They asked to put down a deposit to hold the price till I could come to an agreement with my payments and everything. Grant you I hadnt sign the papers to get it or anything. So we couldnt come to an agreement in it so I cancelled the sale.

They tell me today that they couldnt and wouldnt give me back my deposit on the camper. So Id highly never put a deposit down for anything unless your sure your going to get it. Plus I would never by from Camping World period. Its like going to a car dealership and nothing but high pressure to get your money.

So no deposits to hold prices. Thats the lesson today.

Id like everyone to please share this so no one else gets scammed or high pressured into something like I did by Camping World. They get a negative 10 on customer service and ethics.

Rear differential leak

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Received RV on 4/11. Drove it home and parked it until we were ready to leave for a local trip on 5/17.

saw small oil spot ( 3in round) on my driveway. was not sure where it came from. Drove to camping area and later noticed a spot again. looked under to see where it was coming from and it was coming from the rear differential.

Caked in oil. Had to have been leaking for some time. Camping World in Mesa AZ let me drive off the lot like that knowing I was driving to Yuma AZ. Serious damage could or may have occurred.

Don't know yet, still waiting to hear from the service department on what they are going to do.

But in the meantime, my trip we had planned to Escondido, Ca is not going to happen with our RV. Very disappointed.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased a trailer and had problems right from the start. Each time I needed service it was a challenge to get work done. The Jayco system is set to avoid taking care of their units and they dealership's main focus is defense against the customer. Poor quality work caused my family much distress and expense. I still can't believe they are still in business. If you elect to purchase, look VERY VERY closely everything. Good Luch and beware, Joe

Did not get what we asked for.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Purchased a new Montana camper (paying approximately $80,000) in January 2023 from McGeorge RV in Ashley VA . I also paid for a 5th wheel hitch and installation with a puc system (allowing for all related that they were paid to install.

After completion we identified that McGregors failed to install the puc system and installed a system that will not allow you to remove the rails from the bed of the truck as this mount is permanent. I bought this immediately to the tech who referred us to the office.

Just before walking in we were approached by an employee who said he was a sales manager and apologized for their error. Once inside the office he asked what he can do to make it right (keep in mind they drilled several holes in the bed and frame of the truck that is permanent). I asked what can be done to compensate us for their wrongdoing.

He left and returned with an offer of $150 gift card. I told him it was unacceptable and my 31 year old son said the backup camera ($400) would be helpful.

The manager returned saying he couldnt do it. Feeling like I was in a used car salesmans office I stated it was insulting to offer a gift card for what they had done and said I would turn to social media as my wife recorded the entire encounter since arriving at the dealership. After returning from another departure he said he could do the camera however I would have to sign a consent form stating I would never speak or post negative information about the incident.

Nearly 15 minutes later he returned with a lengthy document stating not only I wouldnt disclose any information about the incident but any other past or future incidents.

My wife addressed the issue and they agreed to revise it.

Returning with another lengthy document I identified the same language just as I began to sign. I explained to the employee that handed me the document that I couldnt agree to this. She said she agreed and that they would remove it. I handed the document to my wife and said dont sign.

My wife accompanied the employee to her office and returned to me upset saying they would not agree to any additional changes and took the document from her hands. My wife said she requested the document back so she could destroy it and they refused.

I went to the elevated office where the managers and staff seem to gather and asked for the document back and they refused. I managed to convince a employee to rip it up and shred.

This, by far, is the worst customer service Ive ever experienced in my 55 years. I spent over $80,000 in the store only to be disrespected and feeling insulted.

Keep in mind my wife recorded nearly every moment capturing valuable footage.

She informed them as soon as we arrived with the intention of creating a tic toc page dedicated to our camping adventures. Good thing we did.

Horrible Customer Service - Do not buy from Camping World!
Updated by user Mar 05, 2023

Camping World’s corporate office made contact with me and worked diligently to resolve my issues. We have since reached a satisfactory resolution.

Original review Feb 02, 2023
This post has been 6 months in the making, but I was sure hoping I wouldnt have to make it. If you are in the market for a camper/ travel trailer or know someone who is, PLEASE read and SHARE my post so that others arent screwed by Camping World like Katie and I have been.

This is my post that Ive written not a forward or copy and paste.
Katie and I started camping shortly after COVID hit. We started with a small camper and absolutely loved it! In June 2022 we upgraded to a new Heartland RVs Mallard M33 at 37 long it took some practice to get used to pulling that thing all over the Southeast! We absolutely loved it the kids have a separate bunkroom in the back, we have our own bedroom, the kitchen even has an island!
We took it for a our first trip shortly after purchase and had a few issues the water heater was still on bypass so we had cold showers the first night; the kitchen sink leaked because the drain wasnt connected correctly; the sink in the outdoor kitchen leaked because it wasnt corrected at all.

While these issues were frustrating on a brand-new unit, they were all easy fixes that I took care of myself.
Fast forward 2 months to August 13, 2022. I went into the camper to find WATER EVERYWHERE! The main slide in the kitchen/living/dining area was leaking and caused water damage throughout that area. I called Camping World of Panama City and was told the first available appointment was August 17; I took it in that morning.

I asked if we should do a walkthrough, but the tech indicated they will identify all of the damage and make it right, like brand new.
We picked the camper up after they did their evaluation because they were ordering parts and I was told it would take some time to get those in. This was early September so a few weeks in the shop for them to evaluate the damage.
Our still brand new camper was returned on October 10, 2022 to complete the repairs after being told September 29 that all of the parts were in. I was told that the repairs would take two days, and that it would be ready quickly since all of the parts were in. At this point, we were in no rush to get the camper in for service as it was still usable.

It was made clear at dropoff that we wanted to keep the unit until everything was in and the work could be done and it would be ready quickly. We use the camper nearly every weekend during the winter. The unit wasnt ready until October 24; when it was ready they advised that the table came in damaged and would have to be re-ordered.
Rookie mistake on my part, we picked the camper up after it was ready and didnt walk through. The camper was parked out front and ready to go, and I was late getting there as I was driving over after work.

I didnt go through the camper until November 1. When we opened it up, we were shocked to find that NOTHING had been done. All of the water damage was still there. The table damage was expected but the ceiling was drooping down, the countertops still damaged, cabinetry still damaged and the walls still buckled.
I contacted Camping World in dismay Ive driven round trip four times at this point, and nothing has been done.

I reached out to the service department, Marcus VIP, and the general manager on November 1 and sent photos of all of the damage that wasnt repaired. I received no contact the next day; no contact from the service manager until November 7. I still haven't heard from the General Manager nor have I received calls back when I've left messages for him.
I sent photos of the damage to the service manager to avoid another 4 hour round trip to drop the camper off, per her request. I sent additional photos a few days later as requested.

She was going to order the parts and have them in so that the camper wouldn't be sitting there while waiting for repair.
We took the camper to Chattanooga for Thanksgiving. The water damage was there, but the camper was usable. While we were on this trip, we noticed that the unrepaired slide was drooping away from the camper significantly. We also had new issues the water heater was leaking and the leveling jacks stopped working.
We contacted Camping World while on vacation and let them know we were no longer comfortable using the camper with the slide leaning away from the camper.

We took the unit in on December 5, 2022 for repairs. Ive followed up repeatedly since then.
We were told the camper was ready last Friday, January 27; Katie and I drove over to pick it up to find that our 6 year old daughter could have completed the repairs more professionally than they had done. Additionally, much of the water damage still wasnt even touched.
As of today, Camping World indicates that they have ordered additional parts for the repairs; some will be in within 10 days. The countertop doesnt have an arrival date.

The Marcus VIP team indicates that we didnt make them aware of some of the issues (water damaged countertop) in August, so that isnt their problem.
At this point, Katie and I want the camper replaced. The visible damage is still there, and who knows what the hidden damage may be from the water intrusion when our camper was two months old. Camping World refuses to replace the unit and cant provide a timeline for repairs to be completed.
I am sharing this story for two reasons ONE, Camping World is a nationwide company and tends to respond to consumer issues only when they become public and TWO, to warn my friends and anyone reading this not to buy from Camping World! Manufacturer issues started this, but Camping Worlds response (lack thereof) has made it completely unacceptable.
We spent $60,000 to do something we absolutely love.

We both work hard for our money, and want to be able to enjoy our purchase.

If you have made it this far, please like and share this post!
For the Camping World social media team you comment on all of the negative reviews that you will reach out and want to help; please do! My corporate reference number is 0394**** and so far that has been of no use.
Pictures are from when we first noticed the damage in August, and then from when we were just told it was ready on Friday, January 27, 2023.

They are the worst I have ever dealt with. Lie and lie, not even a member of the BBB of course after you deal with them, you know why they are not.

And for Marcus to say if you’re not happy I’m not happy what a forest that is.

After they get your money they do not know who you are anymore. I deal with the North Carolina concord location so they are all the same, regardless of location.

I am so sorry to read this, keep spreading the word as they will only be selling more RV's to unsuspecting customers with all of the advertising they do they are just trying to make everyone think they are the only place to go, also to anyone reading this in same position and depending on state here in CA our Lemon Law states any vehicle out of service for more than 30 days is a lemon so contact a local lemon attorney they will usually work for free and a pierce of settlement but they jump when the lawsuit arrives they just try to wait people out past the point of no return

Wish I could say this is unbelievable. Our slide has been leaking since we bought it.

We took it back and were told 3 techs looked at and tested it. It's not leaking. Just returned home from vacation.

It rained on our first night, outside and inside. Camping World is a nightmare.

Well said: To add another one not to purchase is the 2022 Keystone 38RL arctic barrier, they are not built for arctic weather at all! Ours also have manufactured issues My warranty expired this month and repairs are still not completed. The State Attorney General’s office tried to help us too, nothing has been resolved as of yet.

Crooked dishonest business

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My camper was left with them for repairs through my insurance company for the roof and the inside in the bedroom from a limb damaging the roof. While in their possession, the couch, my curtains , blinds, and the dining room bench were damaged which seems that they probably had placed my bedroom cabinets that they had to remove to do the repairs on to the couch and the dining room benches during the repair process and therefore probably knocking my curtains off with the cabinets while coming threw into the living area breaking the tabs that secure them to the wall and knocking off the trim.

I found leather pieces underneath my cabinet in the bedroom from my bench, (hmmm wonder how that got there) and the scrapes/cuts/tears are the same size of the wood around the bottom of the cabinets, which is unfinished rough plywood material. The company is not wanting to repair the damage that they done to my camper while in their possession. And its more than obvious it was done by someone placing the cabinets they removed onto my couch and cushioned bench and being careless with their work ethic and with my blinds. Plus they left the bathroom vent open letting rain come in the bathroom(unsure if this has caused damage to floor yet) Plus they lost my 60 dollar flashlight TV remote that was in my cabinet.

Totally ridiculous . And the girl rep did a walk through with me when I dropped the camper off and said no damage now shes saying she did not do a walk thru, totally unbelievable !!

As far as my blinds they looked liked someone took them and wadded them up in a ball and hung them back up, they are the solid blinds that fold together, we were very careful with them the few times we used them, this was just totally ridiculous , unsure if they will ever go back into shape.

This camper was like brand new and still smelled brand new it was only used a few times.

They destroyed it with carelessness and management wont do a thing to correct it.

Please hear my words, DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE OR BUY ANYTHING HERE. RUN AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN.

Poor Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH CAMPING WORLD/GOOD SAM! GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

I brought my camper at the end of July 2022 in for a full service and have them fix anything that needed to be fixed in Oronoco, MN Camping World.

Im now just getting it back in December 2022. I called and emailed multiple times to get updates. I was told I will get a call back multiple times for a status update. Great!

NEVER HAPPENED! Finally, I get in touch to make an appointment to pick up my camper for a half hour appointment in beginning of November 2022. I was charged the full amount to include one part that was never installed as it was on back order. That part I was tracking on back order.

When I should have been charged only for what was completed. I was also told everything will be installed and completed for when I came to pick up the camper and ready to go. Well long story short, 3 hours later, after they find my camper and some other things that needed to be done, a short trip next door with my camper, thinking I finally have my camper back, only to realize they didnt do anything to it. So back to Camping World!

One of the clerks that was still there, that earlier stated yes all parts are installed except that one part, then states the parts are still in the back, and not installed, but the winterization was, after I returned with my camper. Therefore I shouldnt have been charged for anything except the service and diagnosis portion for everything as winterizing was on the house for having the camper for so long. Fast forward a few weeks later after I contact corporate with a complaint and the Rochester location outsourced my back ordered part, and everything is completed and my camper is ready. Great!

Well they added $1,000 to the bill and the explanation is said from the operations manager at Rochester that the previous clerks never added the parts to the work order, and that what I paid previously (I was reimbursed when I brought it back) now giving it this bigger bill. Great, and thats my fault how? I had a full bill to pay, they did give me a $200 service discount and delivered my trailer for free, but I had to go to Rochester again prior to delivery to do a walk through. I might as well bring it back with me.

Well Im glad I didnt bring my truck and waste more gas and maybe change my mind on delivery as I was told that it was winterized a few weeks prior right? Well guess what they were doing when I arrived for my walk thru? Yep winterizing it after I reminded the manager the morning of pick up for an afternoon inspection. So it wasnt ready!

What was the point of me showing up for a walk thru when youre just going to read off a paper on what your mechanics did! Your one of the managers! You should know what is going on! I do know how to read!

A walk thru means that you walk me through my camper and show me what you fixed. They just wanted my money and signature. I have never dealt with such a terrible and unprofessional business. Corporate is only a mediator/peacekeeper so it must be a franchise issue or something for no one wanting to make things right.

So I get a small tiny $200 service discount and free delivery is what they feel is fair? For months waiting, 3 additional hours at the place when it should have only been a half hour max! Oh and the last trip for a extremely poor if you call that an inspection which wasnt. Sure!

At least they were responsive, in a timely manner with corporate and Rochester location after I contacted corporate! Funny how that works!

Goodbye camping world/Good Sam! Good luck to you if you want to deal with this corrupt corporation!

If I could leave zero stars I would. I bought a camper and as soon as they recieved my money they ignored me.

They charged me for a delivery fee and never delivered the camper so I paid a private company to retrieve it. The camper was not clean. Bugs and mice invested. Broken toilets, where blind was broken and the fender was broke.

I contacted the office of the ceo and was told they parts would be shipped to the camping world closes to me and would be repaired. It's been 3 months and they still don't have the correct parts. Everyone that's contacted me has no idea what's going on and can't give me an answer. I've had to have pest control come in and paid a company to clean out the furnace as there was mice bedding in the vents.

The awning was broken.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! GO THROUGH ANYONE ELSE TO BUY A CAMPER.

Talked with this company for 2 weeks about an RV. Text back and forth, even went through finances. I drive 2 hours to Buford Georgia to Camping World in the Atlanta traffic raining all the way. Upon arrival and looking at the RV, salesman quotes the price $20,000.00 higher than advertised price. Tells me I can make an offer on the RV per the manager.
