We purchased a new Jayco Eagle HT fifth wheel on December 31, 2016 at Camping World in Columbia, S.C.That was a big mistake.
They made a deal with us that included our trade-in and delivery of unit 3 days later but on the way home they called to try and change the deal. My husband told them he was turning around and coming back to pick up our trade-in and they decided to honor the original deal. This should have been a red flag for us. The day we arrived for pick-up of the unit, it was not ready and we had to return home with no RV (6 hour round trip).
Unfortunately this was only the beginning. At the time of purchase there was a piece of broken molding in the bedroom and an issue with the pantry door. We were told by the original dealer that they had ordered two replacement parts to cover on the day we bought the camper. They were to contact us for repair when the parts came in.
That never happened. We contacted them numerous times and each person told us the parts were not ordered but they would order. We heard that 3 separate times. Finally we were told in May that the parts had arrived and were scheduled an appointment for installation.
After traveling 3 hours to Columbia for repairs, we were told that they did not have the parts after all. On our first camping trip we were unable to turn off the exterior lights. We called a dealer to see if they could help us troubleshoot but we were unable to fix. We took the camper to an authorized Jayco service provider near our home and they were able to fix the issue, however, when they contacted Jayco for payment they were told that the original dealer (Camping World of Columbia) had already been reimbursed for electrical repairs.
If they were reimbursed, we were unaware as this was not disclosed to us at the time of sale.
We finally contacted Jayco to get approval for all issues to be handled by another dealer.DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!
