Camping World in Wentzville, Missouri - Service Department Reps should all be fired

I have had my camper in twice for service. Both times they completed about half of the jobs on the repair list. They then want you to call and schedule an appointment but never answer emails or return calls. I will never ever buy another camper from this company and pity all who do.

The CW service department at the above mentioned location has had my 2018 Thor Freedom Elite for 5 months and counting. I called on 2/1/19 @ 8:37am. Spoke to a senior advisor and I requested to speak with a manager. I also asked for a email response for my records. The email response was vague and and not supported by any information. I waited over a hour for a phone call from a manager. Never received a phone call. I took the next step in protecting my interests. I submitted a complaint to the BBB. Last evening 2/1/19. I received a email from another senior advisor who was named in my complaint. Saying my RV will be ready by mid next week. All this does is raise alarms to myself. I feel they are putting band aids on issues that were covered by my warranty. I never received a detailed record on when my RV was worked on (which I asked for) who did the work and when. The customer service was obsolete. They say the right things to your face and don’t back up anything! I want a extended bumper to bumper warranty to ensure that the “work” was done properly. If you stand behind your work. Make it right. I also have a detailed record of any all communication to CW.

I purchased my new 2018 Thor Freedom Elite 30FE in February, 2018. In October of the same year, as I was putting sheets on the cab over bunk where my grandson sleeps, I noticed the cushion was damp. I pulled it up and found a puddle of water in the corner. That was in addition to the water underneath the refrigerator. I also noticed a damp, musty smell in one storage compartment. I made an appointment to bring the unit in the next week. When I got in the RV to take it to Camping World, water spilled on me like it was raining inside! I took it in and reported the problems. They were documented on October 18. I called in early November to remind them to cover it as a precaution since snow was predicted. I was assured that it had been brought inside. I didn't hear anything from them until January 5, 2019. The leaks were identified and fixed. It was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I went inside to check the areas where the puddles had been. I found mold and mildew under the cushion! The trim around the refrigerator was cracked and the storage area still smelled of mildew. I was angry! I told the service manager I was not going to take it and it MUST be repaired. They've accepted responsibility and want to make repairs. If they couldn't find and repair leaks the first time, why should I trust them now!?

Camping World has the worst reputation of any RV dealer I've heard of except RV Peddler in Bakersfield. They were taking units in for sale on consignment and keeping all the money.

The previous owner died and his wife and some employees had charged filed by the DA. That would make them only slightly worse than CW where you get something for your money, although it's likely a piece of crap RV.

Thor is known to be the worst RV on the market. I would never buy one.

Camping World in Saint Peters, Missouri - Terrible service dept

The people working in camping worlds service dept in St. Louis have no idea as to servicing motor homes. I went back several times with the same complaints regarding work the supposedly fixed. Ended up having to another company to get my problems fixed correctly. Don’t bother calling their headquarters. They will not return your calls.

Camping World in Grain Valley, Missouri - This happened to a disabled veteran friend and her disabled veteran husband

1.8
Details
Well everyone, bad news here. We took the RV out for a test run to visit friends in central Missouri over the weekend. When we got to their house, we discovered that the RV fell apart (slightly dramatized, but I’ll explain). First; the RV is a 2018 Crossroads Zinger 18SS. According to I sticker I have a picture of, it was built in January 2018. So imagine our surprise when we get into our RV, to begin setup, and find that a cabinet I had put cans of soup in had dislodged itself and was sitting (with the cans) on the furnace. Not only that, but the “wall” of the cupboard became 3/4 detached and you could see a couple dozen finishing nails sticking out. Then, once clearing the cupboard out, we turned around to unstrap the table and pillows from the couch, only to find that the couch is no longer bolted to the platform on one side (the couch is part of the slide out piece of the RV; and only 1 screw half way in on the other). Upon further examination, the platform that the couch is on, is also broken. One of the drawers in the kitchenette area will not stay attached to its ball bearing rail and tries to fall off each time it is pulled out. Super upset, I call #CampingWorldKC to tell them and they inform me (this was Friday the 4th of May) that they cannot get our RV in for service until Tuesday; this was their soonest appointment. I try to explain all of what is wrong and that dropping it off Tuesday is going to be an awful burden because my husband works, and an extra 6 hours of hauling a trailer with a broken pelvis is not ideal. Again, they insist that they cannot get us seen until Tuesday. Requested to speak to the manager and was told he was SFC until Monday. So I left messages with managers and the sales associate who sold us the unit, but had to concede to Tuesday because no one got back to us or answered the phone when we called during business hours. Luckily for me, Josh was able to get emergency time off to help me. We get to the Camping World of KC (where we purchased the rig) and the service associate began to walk through with us. It went from bad to worse. The cabinet that had fallen apart had also begun tearing away from the wall/ceiling. The ceiling itself was dipping (where it should have been solid) and was so warped that the covers for the interior speakers as well as the smoke detector began falling off the ceiling!!! Then while I was showing the lady the drawer, I noticed a giant area under the sink that sunlight was getting through! It appeared to be *** that had been covered on the outside with a mostly translucent clear substance. In the words of the service associate (who had been less than polite or helpful over the phone), “this is way worse than I thought, we may have to return it to the manufacturer.”. Then we go inside to sign the papers that authorizes them to work on the RV, the service associate informs me that they will have it diagnose in 1-2 days and once diagnosed they would send a report to the manufacturer who “may or may not” approve the warranty work. IF it is approved, it will take another 2-6 weeks to get parts in. I lost it, and said “so you mean to tell me that I could not drop off my RV until Tuesday because you didn’t have an open appointment, but it’s going to take you 1-2 days to even get it diagnosed???” Her response was yes. That is their police. No phone call Wednesday or Thursday. I got ahold of the sales associate and he promised he would look into it and see what my options were. No phone call until almost 2 pm. At which time, we get a message stating that his service manager is responsibility and so needed the service report before he could do any. THEN he says my rig was just starting to get looked at. JUST THEN. (This was less than an hour ago on the 10th). I ask you this rhetorically - why did I need an appointment?!? Ok. End rant...

Given all the defects you stated, my question is: didn't you thoroughly inspect the unit before buying it?

Camping World in Grain Valley, Missouri - Warantee parts taking 2 months to ship!

This is unacceptable! My 6 month old camper needs a circuit board for the hot water heater and they try to tell me it’ll take 2 months before they get the part! How am I supposed to use my brand new camper if it doesn’t have hot water? If I wanted to tent camp, I would have saved my $20,000! This is horrid. It took me 10 phone calls and they are now telling me I HAVE TO PAY FOR EXPIDITED SHIPPING!!! Do not buy from camping world! They must have a horrible relationship with their manufacturer for such terrible turn around for parts!

Camping World in Wentzville, Missouri - The worst dealer ever

Details
I've bought a brand new travel trailer from camping world. Couple weeks later I called them with a few problems like leaking drain, control panel didn't work e t c. They told me that I'll have to wait for at least 3 month , so they can get factory's approval. That's BS. Brand new trailer, that you guys sold. Fix it!!!! I asked them if I can drop it of on my way back from vacation, so they can fix it and call me back, when it's ready. They told me, that I have to bring it in, so they can take a look at it, and then I'll have to bring it back in 3 month and leave it for 45 days. You guys have to shot down your business, if you unable to take care of your customers. Will never use them again. Zinger is a terrible trailer with a low quality workmanship. I'm going to replace it and it won't be in a camping world for sure!!!

Camping World in Wentzville, Missouri - Worst company hopefully they go bankrupt soon!

Dropped my trailer off in May of 2017. That was the biggest mistake possible, nothing was done on my trailer until after I complained in July. I was out of the country at the time. Parts had not been ordered an installed even after I paid for everything in May. I final said forget it just give me my trailer back only to find out they wrecked it. The little work they did was a joke a two year old could have done a better job! They lie to you just to get you off the phone. Never deal with Beth in the service department lies daily from telling me something is fixed and it looks nice but they never touched it at all. Just save yourself all of the headaches and time go elsewhere and wait for this business to go belly up. Maybe the president of camping world will just clean house and start over that would be the only hope for this location. And when my trailer was delivered to my wife there was even more damage done. Just say no to Camping world and the *** service.

Purchased a new THOR Class C RV 2017 model. Took it in for service after out first trip to the Wentzville Mo facility. I was there for 8-weeks and a day. Set up another Service visit the following week. This next go around is for some of the same issues; now 2-weeks and a couple of days. I was contacted to pick up our RV on 8/31 as it was ready from this current visit. Checked all before we left this time. Still had the leveling jacks not working. Still there today. I made my purchase on May 27th and Camping World has had our unit for over 10-weeks. During a very heated conversation with the General Manager I was told that with my temperament I was probably not a good prospect as an RVer. I really haven't had the chance to try. Don
