We live in Tallahassee FL. We called Camping World yesterday asking if the service people would check our tires of our new Winnebago before we take our Christmas trip. They told us to bring it in today and they would work us in. They pulled us into a bay and checked our tires and had us out of there in about an hour and one half. They were very friendly and helpful. And they said all was fine and they did not charge us!! This was a great experience and we have peace of mind as we head out Sunday for our Christmas adventure! Our camper has been at the Oxford location for over a month to have a warranted part replaced in our 2017 camper. IF, and I mean IF we can get customer service on the phone, we get a “it should be ready by...” every time. But, it is never ready! I don’t suggest buying from this place ever!!! I’m one pissed off customer!!!

Details
When we went through our inspection there were no issues. However taking our new Coleman 263bh home, setting up and testing everything out a swarm of carpenter and flying ants came out of the wood works. To make matters worse our hot water heater will not stay lit. Have made several attempts to contact. It’s nice I can bring it by during my work time and they can try to squeeze me in pending if they have the part. Do not buy anything from camping world.

Camping World of TAMPA sold us a used Coleman 5th Wheel with miss matched tires on it. Spare Tire was a NYLON BELTED tire that can NEVER be mixed with STEEL BELTED TIRES, not in ANY emergency. Picked the trailer up after purchase and brought it home 60 miles away, new truck, new trailer, drove slow to feel new package out. No problem. Bought trailer to move back west and that was expressed significantly during the whole purchase process. Loaded trailer with possessions evenly distributing weight properly and knowing I was not anywhere close to Gross Vehicle Weight. Check air pressure on all 8 tires. Leave on journey and get 22 miles before right front tire blows and tears up the side of our newly bought trailer. I change tire to the spare. I make it less than 5 miles when BOTH right side tires blow and destroy the side of the trailer. I find out after looking at the tires and I find 3 of the Adventurer Trailer tires were of the same make and one odd make tire. Two Adventurers on the right side and one on the left rear with the off make on Front left. I figure the previous owner already had a blow out, thus the newer odd make tire. The SPARE being a NYLON BELTED Tire could not handle the weight the steel belted tire can and it explodes taking the second adventurer tire out with it. Less than a 150 miles and two major blow outs on a major interstate. We buy 4 New Goodyear tires, drive the trailer to CAMPING World of TAMPA and they won't even listen, they try and pass blame on me and defend their "AS IS" policy. I sure wish I would have done my research before ever setting foot on their property. I will BAD MOUTH them every chance I get.

Our experience was similar to many others in this site! They had our RV forever...said they would call regularly with updates...never did...called several times before they finally called back to say “sorry, I had family emergency,” which we fell for the first time, but when the exact same thing happened two more times, it became predictable! We were told lies repeatedly...told they were waiting on our insurance I buster, which WE FELL FOR...only to find out that they never even called our insurance company!!! The same, or very similar thing happened to us at three different locations...NH, NC and the Florida!! Will NEVER use or recommend Camping Worlf!!

My first RV experience was the purchase of a new 2016 $80,000 Thor Ace Motorhome (MH) from Camping World herein after referred to as CW. I brought the MH into CW on April 16th 2016 for warranty work which took 30 days to repair and to have paint and fabric protection applied. When we picked the MH up we found stress cracks to the front cap and had to return to CW on May 21st to have those repaired under warranty which took 10 days to complete. On Jan 2 2017 we returned to CW while under factory warranty with more warranty issues; the most significant was the failure of the slide out (S/O) to retract. CW had the MH from Jan 2 to Mar 1 2017 approximately 60 days. They could not duplicate the S/O malfunction. 60 days later after using the MH again the slide out failed. We returned to CW on May 9th 2017. 22 days later we picked up the repaired MH only to find the slide was not closing in the front all the way and there was a 2 inch gap at the bottom front. We were told the gap was fixed and went back to CW on June 7th only to find the gap was exactly the same.After using the MH for planned vacation we returned to CW on Sept 30 to have the repair repaired again (we think they never touched it the previous time). It took 45 days to repair the slide and change out a failed hydraulic jack motor.On Jan 20 2018 we returned to CW because motor 2 at the back of the slide failed.I picked up the MH on March 15th 54 days later. Fascia again was not attached to S/O and there was a new dent on my ladder which was not there when I dropped the coach off. No apology was given.. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING EVER TO CAMPING WORLD. Here are the main issues with CW. Never notified Thor the manufacturer of first S/O complaint. If they had Thor said they would consider covering the repair. Failed to correctly repair slide out three times and the fourth attempt is questionable. The work orders do not accurately depict work done when it comes to slide out repairs and parts replaced. CW applied a paint and fabric protection completely detailing my MH inside and out as a courtesy (Mike Whiteman's GM word) because I requested it. I requested it because I was led to believe it was part of my extended warranty. When I requested to use it, I was told I could not because I didn't pay for it. Whiteman did produce a document I signed at financing showing I declined it. We signed a lot that day. Does it matter who pays for it. Obviously CW did. Whiteman also told me they only warranty paint and body repair for 90 days even thought their website and catalog ads say 12 months. Whiteman told me if I paint yours I would have to paint every ones. Well I doubt they apply paint a fabric protection for free to everyone. At the time of financing I did not want to purchase an extended warranty but the finance officer called the bank and had my interest rate lowered so my payment would be the same with the warranty. I have since learned this is a questionable practice. (Finance guy no longer with CW) It took 30 days for the service advisor to determine they could not repair the paint repair under any warranty. The GM found the error in less than 24 hours. It took 54 days to do a 3 hour repair to my S/O. The MH sat at CW for weeks before parts were order and the first estimate was done on the paint work. All total, CW had my coach 247 days out of the 844 days I have owned it. That is 8 months of down time at $550.00 a month for the loan payment and $1000 in storage fees. So I spent $5400 dollars on something I was unable to use! I was told on two occasions that it would take longer to get the replacement motors in since they had to build them to order. After getting this excuse for the delay a second time I called Lippert, the supplier, and was told NO; the motors my MH needed are in stock and never built to order. Service writer changed her story to MAY BE built to order. Perhaps she should ask so that she gives customer accurate information. She should also return calls in 15 minutes like she says she would and not wait for me to call back the next day. I have had to deal with 5 different service advisors in less then 2 years. Their knowledge of my MH is questionable. I knew more about the Schwintek system then they did. Two have left CW, one went back to sales, and two I don't know where they went to. The service manager Mike Doyle also resigned after he promised me 100% satisfaction. What a joke. The same two parts guy are still there though. So after 7 round trips to camping world with two vehicles at a cost of $70.00 a trip. The lack of use of my MH for 8 months I am done with Camping World. I do not recommend Thor products or Camping World! Horrible customer service. J. Blessee

They lost a customer today. I have a travel trailer that was purchased at a competitor in town but I wanted to try the service out at Camping World. I made my appointment a month ago and confirmed they could work on the specific trailer that I own. They told me they could get the warranty items from my manufacturer so I thought it was all great. This morning I spend an hour to go get the trailer from storage, hook it up to my truck, and drive in traffic towards Camping World for my appointment. I get a call 10 minutes before the appointment to tell me they can’t work on my trailer. They apologize but do not offer anything for my inconvenience. It would have been nice to get notified earlier that 10 minutes before the appointment or since they discovered this so late, they could have offered for me to bring it in for a complimentary service and wash or anything since I was already close to their store. I missed work this morning, wasn’t able to take my kids to school like normal, and wasted time and gas. Had they given me good customer service I most likely would have purchased my next RV from them in a year but now I will never go back. Such a sad way for them to treat a possible customer. I would recommend you double confirm anything you are purchasing or getting serviced with them.

OMG we are going through the same thing. It has been a nightmare.

I am hoping we can sue them or join a Class Action law suit. Why are people not doing a Class Action law suit. We have heard hundreds and hundreds of cases just like this. It is abuse.

This is so unfair to us the consumer and these RV companies are taking advantage of us and getting away with it.

I would join a law suit in a heart beat. We should all get together and take them down.

Terrible experience sales never called back.i had cash to buy a travel trailer. I saw a 2013 Kodiak 186 express which the sales rep couldn’t be bothered to get off the golf cart to show me the trailer. It was very close to another trailer but I squeezed in the door to take a look and loved it. Sales said outside your price range and too heavy. I said find out about it and call me they never called of course. They were WRONG about price and weight it is perfect for my vehicle..yesterday I saw the same trailer on the internet at a reduced priced so I filled out the form and the internet rep called me. She said I’ll have a sales person call you within the hour......once again they never called. I called internet rep again got voicemail to date no one has called. Meanwhile I’ve bought another trailer from another dealer brand new and cash paid. Shame on you Camping World I will never deal with you again. Posting my complaint to Better Biz Bureau and social media. Camping world sales do not take single women seriously or respectfully when they say they have cash and want to purchase a used travel trailer. They cannot be bothered to call back and are not interested in showing used travel trailers. They are only interested in couples with big bucks to spend!!!

Brief background , we live in this motorcoach full time while our home is being rebuilt because of mold in our HVAC unit. For 3 years we had been breathing in toxic mold spores which made our immune system to be compromised. On December 27, 2016 we left our home with just our keys and the clothes on our back. Our licensed environmental hygienist and our doctors advised us to remove ourselves from the mold in order to get well .. Fast forward to June 22nd of this year we paid nearly $3,000.00 for services at Camping World and received a water damaged coach with black mold from an improperly installed satellite system, an xm radio that doesn’t work properly due to the improper installation of the antenna and an annual maintenance package that was never performed even though they signed off on the work like it was performed. It’s now going on 4 months and still nothing has been done. We have been going back and forth trying to get them to repair the damage. After going to the media Camping World asked us to get an estimate, we did and when they saw the cost they changed the rules. The damage is around $15,000.00 without the cost of the remediation. Now they want to trade us out of our unit but there’s one problem. We found a “DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH “. We purchased a 2007 miles that was only used as a spare bedroom. None of the appliances were ever used. It was also stored in a rv garage. So it’s like we purchased a new coach. So to replace this coach you have to take the year out of the equation Camping World refused to do that so they won’t repair the coach and they can’t find us a coach comparable to ours. We have wasted our summer fighting with Camping World to do the right thing. The upper management hasn’t even taken the time to access the damage in person. We have sent pictures of the damage along with a protocol from our licensed environmental hygienist. Still nothing. Now our health is failing. My hair is falling out along with sores that bleed on my head and neck and chest. My husbands asthma is getting very bad. They just don’t care We just sent the an email stating that our licensed Hygenist told us that the amount of CHAETOMIUM we have in the coach is dangerous to our health and we shouldn’t be living in this coach. It needs to be repaired and remediatied. Camping World had the coach tested for mold and the person who did the test wasn’t a licensed mold assessor and read the report incorrectly. Camping World won’t listen to our Licensed Environmental Hygenist on why the test is incorrect. We have given Camping World a letter from our Hygenist and still nothing. We have a WE OWE YOU for the repairs to be done along with hotel stay from the first general manager. He was fired the day after he gave us the WE OWE YOU. CAMPING WORLD is making their decisions based on that false mold report, instead of owning up to the fact that their technician improperly installed the satellite system that caused WATER DAMAGE. The mold was the result of the water damage. We keep telling the forget about the mold. You caused water damage to our coach. Please fix it. We have gone to Camping Worlds headquarters in Bowling Green Kentucky and no one would see us or look at the coach. We just get emails. We were told the paperwork went to legal we haven’t heard from any legal. In my opinion I feel Camping World is racist. My husband is an BLACK MAN. In the world I grew up in if someone broke something they were responsible and the would fix it immediately. The conversation would have been. “Mr Jackson what can we do to make this right . Let us take your coach and we will put you and you wife up in a hotel until the situation is completed.” That did not happen. They have not even apologized for the damage instead we hav to fight daily for them to do the right thing It’s like you go and get an oil change for your car and they break the windshield. You don’t take the car home with a broken windshield. The fix it. What’s the difference. There isn’t That’s why I think it’s a racist issue. They wouldn’t even deal with my husband until I finally told the to deal with him not me We need help. We can’t live in this much longer. Were paying the mortgage on our home and the coach and were still living in a dangerous situation with mold The doctors won’t treat us until we’re living in a mold free environment. That was supposed to be this coach. Once this coached is repaired or replaced we still have to replace all our personal belongings because of the mold spores. I’m a flight Attendant and my hair falls out while I’m working and it’s hard to hide the sores. It’s very embarrassing and emotionally exhausting for myself and my husband.
