On Saturday Oct 7th, we called Camping World in Syracuse to speak to a salesman. My husband told him what we are looking at and then gave him information regarding our trade.

The salesman asked several times if he could call us back, we said yes. He called back and asked for more information each time. It was agreed that he would call us back on Sunday with a quote on our trade. We were driving home from our vacation on Sunday.

The salesman called back about 5 times before he finally had all the information he said he needed. The a couple of hours later he called to give us the quote. The quote was way less than we were willing to even consider. So we told him that and said thank you but we are off by $9,000.00.

So looks like we can't make a deal on the 5th wheel toy hauler we wanted. The salesman jumped right in and said he could work with the $9000.00. So we made an appointment to meet the salesman at Syracuse Camping World on Monday Oct 9th at 10 am. We arrived at 10 am, the salesman was out on the lot or somewhere, we waited about 15 minutes.

When he arrived, he wanted to sit down and talk the deal, but we had not yet seen the 5th wheel other than online and wanted to actually look it over before proceeding. It was raining lightly out and we headed across the road to look at the unit, but surprise, the salesman didn't know what we came to look at, as he took us over to look at a travel trailer, not the fifth wheel that we had called about. ( gave him the year, make, model and stock number when we first called) We then walked around the lot looking for the unit. The salesman then discovered that it was not on the lot, that after showing it at a camping show at the Fairgrounds it had been moved to Farrell Rd.

So we drove over there to look at it. Lo and behold, the slide outs were not out and there was not power, so back to the dealership we went. The salesman got a booster box and said he would meet us back at Farrell Rd. We were very frustrated and asked to speak to the manager.

The manager apologized for the salesman, but then told us that there was no real wiggle room on the camper price or our trade offer other than perhaps $200.00 more. That was not enough to make the deal viable for us so we decided to leave. We asked the young lady at the front desk to call the salesman and tell him we had changed our minds and would not be coming over to look at the unit. If we had known there was no room for negotiation we would not have wasted our time.

The really sad part for us is that this is the third time we have had problems here. We LOVE the Carbon, went we first were ready to buy a toy hauler, the Carbon travel trailer was our first choice, but we had some questions and the sales manager said he would call us back with the answers and he never did, so we bought elsewhere. Now again unless we go far afield, which we certainly might do, we could end up not buying the Carbon fifth wheel toy hauler that we really love.

There is even more that I could go into but there is no point. I don't see a day when we will be going back to Camping World in Syracuse.
