We recently purchased our first camper, a 2012 used Jayco pop-up from Camping World of Colfax, NC. The date of purchase was August 7th and we picked the camper up on August 9th for our first camping trip that weekend.
We received a 30 day temporary tag which expired on September 9th. After numerous calls to the store and conversations with the person who handles the tag registrations with the Department of Motor Vehicles....we kept getting the run around and were told that it was the Department of Motor Vehicles problem and that the tag had already been mailed out. We were later informed me that it had not been mailed and that they were waiting on the title from the previous owner's bank. That being said, I can understand the title to a certain degree, but that does not typically hold up the process for receiving tags, unless someone isn't doing their job.
After a final phone call from my husband who was extremely disappointed to Brenda, she was told to contact me directly with an explanation. Once again, the reason had pushed the blame back on the DMV office....this is simply inexcusable! If you have an employee who is not focused first on customer service and doing their job and has to blame others for their mistakes that person should not hold a position such as hers. This was a very disappointing experience and it will take a lot for us to step back into any of the Camping World stores from this point on.
Oh by the way, we were promised a $50.00 gift card for our inconvenience when the new plate arrived.
We received the plate two weeks after the temp tag expired and, guess what? No gift card to be found in the package!
