Camping World - 2014 38CK Cedar Creek faded front cap

Sent this to Forest River and Camping world and still getting the run around second year in a row: Dear Mr, I'm trying to get all the facts straight because T (husband) has talked to so many people and in relaying information to me, it gets a little muddled. I prefer everything in print, which is easier for me to comprehend. So - I understand our 2014 Cedar Creek is not the only one you are having problems with the front cap fading out. I believe you said there were several more with the same problem. Is that correct? I also understand that although this is admittedly a manufacturing defect that your company is requiring us to pay for the transport for repair; the recall as you were. As in paying $1800 for you to transport our defective camper to your facility for repair or driving it out ourselves also at our expense. All other companies that discover factory defects send the parts to make the repair to their dealers and it is repaired free of charge to the customer. I'm not understanding what makes Forest River/Cedar Creek exempt from this. Can you explain this to me? Camping World has informed us that campers are delivered to Cedar Falls regularly, so it shouldn't cost you anything to add a cap to the truck on the next delivery or pull our camper back there on their return trip as that truck usually goes back empty, at no cost to us. This is not something that came up after the warranty ran out. This problem was brought to the attention of Camping World last year and we were advised to wait until Spring and bring it in then. Spring is here; the camper is at Camping World; and camping season is on the way. And we are still fighting for what is right. We have already had our camper back to the factory once for items that apparently Quality Control missed. I won't go into detail as you should have all that information in your files. If not, I would be happy to send you copies of everything that was repaired. I really wish there was a "Lemon law" for campers as this is truly a "lemon". We still have a very noisy refrigerator so that has not been addressed yet either. Now this problem with the end cap. Where does it end? Sincerely, Sherry K Iowa

Our 2015 38CK has fading issues on the front and rear caps. We aren't original owners but I still think they should fix it.

A simple google search will result in hits of issues of fading for YEARS! Amazing that the company has done absolutely nothing to prevent this from happening.

Convince Forest River to replace our end cap with no charge to us, as this is admittedly a factory defect that is occurring with other Cedar Creeks as well.

Camping World in Oakwood, Georgia - Dealer not honest with information on used popup camper!

Very disappointed!!! I contacted them ahead of time, not only to check availability of a popup camper I was interested in, but also to ask some critical questions.... "Does it have trailer brakes?" and "Is there any damage to the unit?". I was told that it -did- have trailer brakes and that there was not damage. Not true in both cases. When we arrived (after a 3 hour drive) and checked the unit, one of the things I wanted to do was take it for a short test drive. I was not allowed to do that. We could have saved a lot of time if we had of done that. We were also told it had been fully inspected before it went to the lot. I found that hard to believe. Several problems were found when we first looked at the unit, but also -after- we had signed the paperwork and the inspection was done. Having no brakes was the deal killer. At least the inspector was honest about the problems and the GM of the facility eventually gave us our check back. Try some place else!!

Camping World's Insurance Doesn't Take Care Of Damage At Their Facility

Update by user Aug 12, 2015

I spoke with the General Manager Mike Ruth who told me that he is learning a lot the insurance and that the insurance is working for the Camping Worlds best interest, regardless if a customers Motor home is damaged the companies property. That they shouldn't be held responsible and that the customer should just let their own insurance company pay the claim

Original review posted by user Aug 12, 2015

Fire at Camping World Island Lake, IL. Our vehicle was damaged. Now Camping World says to just submit just file a claim with my insurance and let them take care of the damage. Camping World's Insurance Gallagher & Fisk says that they won't file the claim because they aren't liable that my insurance can take care of it, but they then submit an estimate of repair that the want to get paid for. This isn't over. I am not paying a deductible nor a rate increase because Camping World won't take care of the damages that happened at their facility. Unbeleivable.

Camping World in Las Vegas, Nevada - Research before you ever go to CW. Complete incompetance on all levels.

We have been RVing for over 40 years and have owned 8 motor homes during this time period. 18 months ago we purchased our last coach and had to take it to CW for service. It took 7 weeks for "minor" repairs under warranty. If you want calls and progress reports this is not the company to deal with. Month 11 we took in in for very minor warranty work and 4 months later it was done. Again, if you want call back or progress reports, you are dealing with the wrong company. You will rarely ever get a call back and if you do it will be several weeks later. Calling a supervisor, forget it. You will never ever get a call back even if you call CW corporate! Ask for the GM of the facility, no way will you get a call back or any response. Sales: We will never again deal with CW. They used to be a good store for parts and service many years ago. We will now only deal with a MFG direct. In our opinion it is worth it to drive, or have you rig towed a few hundred miles to a facility other than CW. It is a shame that this company has deterioted to the bottom level of service. Example, just try and get propane. You are treated lower than a rat that is bothering their dogs food bowl. Customer service in their parts department has been horrible for the past few years too. A shame. We finally sold our rig and will now look at going factory direct. A true shame. Just look at Better Business Bureau reports and complaints listed on any blogs before ever dealing with CW. This company just does not deserve the good RV family community that we have all built.

Camping World in Fort Myers, Florida - Service department charged for repairs that were never done!

Asked camping world to do a complete check up on a travel trailer. Lower antenna and fix, fix roof vents. Charged a couple of hundred dollars. We pick up trailer in a crowded parking lot. They drop it off behind cars. We hitch up to move then are asked to keep pulling out as it is a traffic jam. We haul to out storage facility check work. Roof vent one still broken roof vent two still clogged and filled with leaves. They supposedly fixed a shower head and a rusted piece for the fridge. Based on the blatant roof vents not getting done my guess is we were taken for 800 bucks! I will never go to camping world again! What a scam

Purchased a 2015 voltage at camping world in Las Vegas

The new unit was not ready when promised, rushed thru the inspection, the sound system was not hooked up properly and when we hooked up the trailer brakes did not work. After 2 hours they messed with some wires underneath the unit and the brakes started working. 20 miles away from the shop they quit. I continued driving 60 miles to the camp ground I was staying. When I called camping world about it the wanted me to drive it back to their facility, I would not due to safety concerns. I have been sitting since Jan 11th and it is now Feb 9. After threating a law suit, I think it is resolved to get repaired, but still waiting for a date. I think Keystone has some of the worst reps for service and as soon as you pay and leave camping world hopes you forget any of their responsibility.

Paid a thousand dollar deposit for a fifth wheel...guaranteed. Received an email from CEO Marcus who offered his "help with sales" but our RV would not be transferred by another CW facility for sale...no response from Corporate. Meanwhile, I travel for business and my home was complete by Friday...no RV... no response....false advertisement

Camping world destroyed instead of repair camper

We took a 11 month old jayco 5th wheel to camping world in calera al. it was there a total of 4 months during this time we were lied to continuosly. The 3rd time we were called and told it was ready dor pickup when we arrived it still had broken tail lights and gfi plug in kitchen had been removed and wires were just hanging( note we were there for hail damage-no reason to even b in camper). they had bent our roof ladder and the roof they had put on looked like a crumpled piece of papaer. it was left for them to finish. we finally had to go get it and take it to another facility for repair. I now have a 2011 5th wheel that looked brand new all except hail damage but now it has 3 rubber roofs on it which compromises the structure and caulking all over camper . People I am warning you RUN do not walk from this place

Just as a note to this situation. I work at this dealer and the guy who did this shoddy work twice is long since gone from the company.

We have had many problems due to bhispoor workmanship and shortcuts.

While we are still striving to improve, mistakes will be made from time to time. Please know that this issue is something we try our best to avoid.

Camping World Facility

Camping World in Gallatin, Tennessee - Insurance company had to pay twice to get my roof repaired properly.

After a headliner carpet was replaced due to water damage, the water spots returned. My insurance carrier referred me to another repair facility in another state. They discovered that Camping World had replaced the headliner. However they did not repair the underlying cause . . . a leaking roof! I gave Camping World a second chance. They replaced my worn out carpet with a vinyl tile floor. It looked great, but they covered a floor register for the furnace! On the same job, they broke and replaced a TV. And as I drove down the Hwy, the wood frame which conceals the wiring for the new TV fell on me as I was driving, nearly causing a wreck. And when my interior lights failed, I found out that there was a burnt wire in the wall that was improperly installed and nearly caused a fire! Don't go near Camping World if you value your RV, not to mention your life.
