Buying an RV with the St. George Camping World was a nightma

Found exactly what we wanted. Drove from San Diego to St. George , Utah to pick up our rig. Sat for 5 hours. My husband went on the roof to check out the job they did in installing a 2nd AC unit. So much damage. They said they’d put some caulk on it. We asked for something in writing to say they damaged it so our warranty wouldn’t be effected. They refused, so we walked. It was almost comical! I have never done business with such a immature bunch of grown men.

Stupid is as stupid does, who would live in San Diego and drive to St. George Utah to purchase an RV.....when you get home who is going to service your new RV?

Certainly not the local Dealer, it's a long drive to back to Utah to get adjustments. Anybody who tells you anything different is full of ***

Took my RV to the dealer (First mistake), 2nd, they couldn't fix the problem (Gen) (What a joke). Stay away from the Pittsburgh dealer. Got charge $450 to winterize and grease the slides. I will NEVER buy from Camping world again!!! People STAY AWAY unless you like to get %uCked in the A%s. 45 people working, but only one can wait on you while the other 44 talk about how there gonna screw the next customer. Stuff is cheaper to buy there, but they'll put it in deep when it comes to TRYING to service your RV. People don't walk away from Camping world, RUN RUN RUN away.

RV's are on of the most oft-griped items on this website. Today, two out of the first 8.

It almost makes me glad that I'm prone to motion sickness ; I'll never buy any RV or other non-essential type of vehicle.

Your story is, unfortunately, all too typical. You don't need to use or imply foul language ; I get the idea.

BUYERS BEWARE! I purchased a used toy hauler from this Camping World about a month ago and was told “everything works” on the camper by my salesman Monte. I came 7 hours to buy this camper and again was assured it had been “gone through” and checked and everything works. When I arrived they basically had not even looked at it and then winterized it before I could check anything. I “dewinterized” it only to find it leaked profusely, which they did fix. I was unable to check many other items as they made sure to “run out of time” as they were closing. There are a multitude of other items that don’t work including the generator, propane lines, leaking shower, etc. Their idea of a detail was some tire shine. The inside of this camper was nasty, it took 5 cleanings with simple green to get the bathroom floor to not come back black on the towel. The rest is the camper was equally as filthy. I had been there since 9AM. They knew I had a 7 plus hour drive back and thought they would get away with selling a camper that they said that everything worked on when it didn’t and was filthy. Very disappointing. They have since said they would do something but it was all just lip service. Be sure if you experience this same situation, inform who financed it so Camping World will lose their ability to finance campers and stop these unethical sales practices. Shame on you Monte and Camping World.

The camping world in Chattanooga service manager intentionally left food to rot in my freezer when i took it in for service because for the 2nd time in a couple weeks my kitchen slide would not open which left me unable to clean out the freezer. I was told that they could not keep it plugged in and they were not reponsible for the food. So i was left with no choice but to ask them to discard it. Instead they left it to rot for a month so all the food and ice melted and maggots were left all i behind the walls. Now the brand newrefrigerator is a huge health concern as well as all the damage to the cabinets and floors that surround the fridge. The entire camper walls and furniture have absorbed the smell of death as well. Making this brand new 2018 camper worthless.

I purchased the Good Sam guide through Camping World and wound up paying double because of the shipping charges. Also, they use FedEx to ship causing another two week delay for delivery. Local, small, home owned dealers are much easier to work with.

Camping World in Berkley, Massachusetts - Service department is useless

Before I embark on my annual trip to Florida, I like to have my RV checked out to make sure everything in coach is up to par. I have had this done at Camping World in Berkely MA several times and the service was OK. This time, it took me more than two weeks and at least 10 calls to get anyone in service department to answer the phone and then only after leaving a voicemail saying I would sever my relationship with Camping World if I did not hear back immediately. I finally got a return call and was able to make an appointment before I was scheduled to leave. On the day of the appointment, I traveled the hour and a half from my home. On check in, I told the service rep that I was particularly concerned with the coach batteries because they seem to be discharging more quickly than they should. An hour or so later, I was told that they had checked everything out and that the battery was great, along with everything else. I paid my $67.50 and left, but forgot to ask a question I had about whether my batteries were sealed or should be checked periodically for water level. Two weeks later, I remembered to ask my nephew, who is the maintenance guy for our family's campground. He opened up the battery hatch to show me and we both remarked that it didn't look like anyone had touched the batteries in ages. He popped off the caps and the water in each of the 12 compartments was very low, barely covering the plates. Clearly, I had wasted my time and money, and the Camping World techs had not checked out the batteries at all. That seals the deal. I won't be returning to Camping World again.

I bought a Starcraft AROne 2016 Travel trailer. On last trip to Stowe, Vermont lost Break connection on brake controller. Had a Mobile Repair man come to campsite and eliminated issue from vehicle and troubleshot to trailer brakes. He juggled the wires on passenger side on trailer and we got a connection reestablished. On leaving Stowe to Stoughton, Mass 5 miles into the drive lost connection and drove home with no brakes on trailer. Very worriesome ride home. Called Camping world in Berkeley where I purchased the Starcraft no answer at all to service, salesman Rich Casius or any other option. Tried calling for a week + no one would answer the phone. Ended up bring to Majors RV in Bourne, Mass ( I highly recommend) they took me by appointment very professional and repaired the brakes. Found Scotchlocks used on the brakes. Come to find out should never ever be used on the brake wiring system. They soldered and shrink wrapped the wires the way it should have been done originally. Finally got through to Jerry the Service Manager at Camping world Berkeley. Told him what happened and what was found he blamed the Mobile repairman saying he must have installed which there is No Way he did anything like that he on jiggled the wires. Anyway I had bought all the warranties (Good Sam) when I bought the trailer from them. He said not covered even though the trailer was bought from them and the wiring found wrong and the dangerous situation we had driving without brakes and not my fault. Then he told me my salesman was let go and he had cleaned house at the Berkeley location and was sorry I couldn’t contact anyone to help us. After speaking to him I will spread the word to not buy from them or use their service dept. I only wish I had read the reviews before purchasing and believe they still have problems. I rate them as a Zero.

We purchased an RPod camper from Chris, our salesman. He did an excellent job in following up with our wishes and found the camper we wanted at a good price. We carried our hitch, Which needed adjusted. He introducted us to Ben in service who was outstanding. Ben and Chris did a great job getting our hitch adjusted and our brakes hooked up. Ben later serviced the refrigerator on our motorhome saving us lots of dollars vs having to purchase a new one. Our experience at Camping World in Jackson has been outstanding. Alle and Sissie
