Camping World in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Worst consumer experience of my life

Picked up new RV purchase and before we got it home, battery totally discharged, dead. Something was left running on the RV on their lot. No call backs from service mgr, contacts there just wanted to shift us to someone else, no ownership of what was clearly their responsibility. Problems from the get-go as we called two days in advance to pick up our RV. When we got there, told that it needed to be detailed and that work hadn't even started. Three hour wait with not even an insincere apology. Total disconnect between treatment received before and after purchase. Stay away. Too many other options even if it means choosing a dealer a bit farther away from you. It would be worth it.

Camping World in Summerset, South Dakota - Advertised Pricing versus Real Price

Received a catalog of sales prices for items that can be purchased in the store and installed. When I agreed to buy the item at the advertised sale price and have it installed they added shipping. I call the folks at retail sales and they said that this is an unpublished company policy. So essentially the price they would charge me is the regular price because they added shipping onto the advertised sale price. So anyone expecting to buy to go to a camping world and get the advertise sale price better beware because they could add shipping. I called retail sales and no one there including managers can show me where this policy is written down so a potential customer can read it. I have never had a brick & mortar store advertise a price and then add additional fees that effectively raise the price back to be close to the regular price.

Camping World in West Bernalillo, New Mexico - Lies: Prices, fees, etc.

BUYER BE AWARE!!!!! From the moment we were introduced to the sales rep we got a bad vibe. Before even getting to know us she wanted to know my SSN to do a credit check. We informed her we wanted to see what she had before we talk numbers. Then she wanted our address. She was very persistent. I told her again if we found something we liked then I'll provide the information. I told her the size truck I had, what we were looking for and what we wanted to avoid. There were two specific brands we didn't want to see. She immediately got defensive asking why we didn't like them insisting they were some of the better products on the market. She was very rude when I told her that the information I had came from personal experience and family/friend recommendations. The whole time she kept saying how she had so many units she wanted to show us but that we refused so why waste her time. Then when we went to get on the golf cart she told me and my wife that one of us had to sit up front because she didn't want to pop a wheelie with two bigger women in the back. She had done that before. She basically called us fat. We ended up finding a unit we liked and wanted to talk numbers. I still didn't give my SSN which upset her. She brought back an offer which I said was way too high. I told her a different camping world had the same unit for 5k less than what they were trying to sell it for. When she brought back the second off they had tacked on freight charge after they lowered the cost to match the other camping world. I told them to remove it but they insisted it was mandatory. Then I told them I had already gotten pre-approved from my bank. The next offer I got they added yet another charge because I wasn't financing through them. In all they tacked on an extra $7000 dollars because I called them out on overpricing and I wanted to use my bank instead of theirs. There were other BS charges like prep fee and legal document fees. We ended up walking away from the table. Two days later I get a call from the same lady saying she was able to get the price we wanted with some fees waived, all she needed was a credit card for the down deposit. I refuse to do anything over the phone so I drove back out there, 40 mins away, to look at it on paper. When I got there nothing had changed, the price was still the same. I asked her why she lied and she told me in front of her manager she had a brain *** Then they both lied to me saying that if they pulled my credit to finance through them it wouldn't hurt my credit because "I'm shopping for an RV within 30 days so the creditors know this and it won't hurt my credit." When I asked my loan officer at our bank he told me otherwise, that anytime you pull your credit it's a hit. So my wife and I were lied to MANY times during our experience with the sales department. Don't get me wrong their parts department is great but I will never purchase an RV from ABQ Camping World and I've warned all my friends and family. If I could give them a negative rating I would!!

My mother bought a camper from camping world in robertsdale Alabama and got ripped off we've been trying for 3 months to get them fix it because it's falling apart inside ... And she had to pay back taxes on it and the VIN numbers have been black painted Over ... Camper world needs to fix or we are going public to the news and I'm going to plaster you all over it .... You got the fattest people working in robertsdale Alabama my mother is 83 years old your people didn't even let her read the contracts before signing anything took a $5,000 left her owing over 18,000 for a $14,000 2017 camper that had never been titled so now why was there back taxes owed on it if it was only a floor model .... if this camper is not fixed with all the molding falling off the ceiling and after walls we going to go before a judge camping world and see what he says. .. because there's no paperwork saying sold as is ....

Camping World in Vincennes, Indiana - Dont shop here!

Our rv literally started falling apart the same day we set it up. Knobs fell off the stove, back of sofa has huge rips you didn't notice because they were in the folds\backside of the sofa. No hot water....missing TV guessing it was stolen, when my hubby went to sign the paper to buy the salesman stuck his thumb over the real amount and told my husband here is your final cost sign here, the RV cost us over 10k more then what he showed us. Stove burner doesn't work. They do not return phone calls, after they sell to you that's it, they have nothing else to do with you, they got their money and ***

Camping World in Tucson, Arizona - Wonderful service, wonderful peolpe

We experienced a major breakdown just outside Tucson when we broke an axle on our fifth wheel. Of course it was a Sunday. The folks at camping world helped us find a tow service then allowed us to park in their parking lot overnight. Monday morning Melanie Winn figured out a way to work us into their very busy schedule. She absolutely worked magic in getting us into the shop, find the parts we needed and then turned us over to David McGee. He explained every detail of what needed to be done. He then worked through his lunch break to get us back on the road in minimum time. I cant say enough about the professionalism and basic customer service of everyone in the Tucson Camping World store. I'm sorry I didn't get the names of everyone we were in contact with. I most definitely recommend this wonderful facility to anyone in need of RV service.

Camping World in District 5, Mississippi - DISAPOINTED WITH SERVICE

We live in MS and drove 4 hours to look at one camper that I saw online and this was the closest place it was available. Camping World of Biloxi, MS. We made an appointment by clicking on the best available price online, which then took us to a page to request an appointment. It also listed the price of the RV as 19,000.00. This is 2020 Rockwood Geo Pro off road edition. Grant is who called and set up our appointment. We were also told that we did not need to bring our camper in with us (that we would be trading) because they have a system that could pin point the value. We showed up an hour early and our salesman that we were assigned to was Crouse. He was super nice. He tried to help us in every way and even recommended an awesome restaurant that we had lunch at. Now the problems: When we agreed to purchase they tried to charge the amount that is online. They said they corrected that, but I'm not sure if they did or not. I believe it was still showing over 20,000 for the sale price. They ended up dropping the extra services like adding the tow package because my husband can do that. Also not adding all of the things like sewer hose, etc.. because we already have all of that. They agreed to give us 10,500 for our 2017 Keystone Hideout that is 3 feet longer and way nicer, but we agreed to this price. We wanted to downsize and thought this Geo Pro would be better for boondocking than what we have. So we all decided on a price and I asked the sales manager (can't remember his name) if they would deliver. He said "if that is what it takes to get it done, then yes." We decided they would bring the new one up to us the next day and pick up the trade. My husbands credit was ran (and dropped 4 points due to this) and all papers gone over with the finance manager and everything signed. Then... the general manager told one of them that no, they were not delivering it until they had the trade. I had brought pictures and they had agreed on the price of the trade. All papers signed. I understand that they needed to see it, but they said not to bring it (which later he said he did not say that... but we would have if we were told to) so why not SEE it when you deliver mine. You were having to do that anyway. So... we will take it all the way down there (after driving 4 hours already) and are they going to give me what they said... give me more??? Ha. I doubt that. Mine has been camped in 8 times. It is in perfect condition. It is actually better than when we bought it. Upgraded the bed, shower head, backsplash. It has an outdoor kitchen and tons of storage. So I was going to one with a tiny bath and no storage. But it is what we wanted and were willing to do. We just wanted to downsize, not because there was a problem with ours. We also wanted one with a couch because ours just has the large dinette. The salesman text us on the way home asked if he could get it delivered did we still want it and we said yes. Next day.. back and forth and the general manager still was saying no... they had to see ours first. So deal canceled. It's too bad that that place was/is the closest that has this camper. Very bad customer service and several that lies. 1. Guy that took our appointment and told us not to bring ours and then said he didn't say that. Plus online price changed. 2. Sales manager that said he would deliver and pick ours up. 3. Sales manager said ours was the first 2020 to be sold and finance said 2nd. Not that it matters about that, but see where I'm going. Salesman didn't have a chance. He did all he could do. Oh and by the way... we came to see ONE camper. Before we were even taken to see it, the salesman said the sales manager told him to show us a used one that was similar. What? We wanted a 2020 Geo Pro and that one was a Rockwood Mini Lite (don't know the year). It was similar, but the TV and fridge was in different places. No solar. Not off road. Not same camper. That was just weird and rude. We drove 4 hours to see ONE camper. And that is the one we wanted. We received an email last night to welcome us to Good Sam. I sure hope they ripped our paperwork up because the deal was off. :-( So.. what did we do? Ordered a couch for the great camper we already have. It's perfect anyway and I can't believe we even thought about trading it. Never again will I ever buy.. or attempt to buy from Camping World. You know, I had read bad reviews about the place as a whole, but still gave it a try. You live and learn.
