Money Hungry

I am writing this online and I will also be mailing letters to both the headquarters and the service center that had our RV for months. On 7/13/16 we dropped off our 2002 Western Alpine Coach to have minor service done explaining that we needed this back no later than 8/24/16 for travel plans that had already been reserved. And on 8/3/16 was told that "should be able to accommodate request". Well low and behold of course that didn't happen and with all of our belonging including food in cabinets and elsewhere in RV. Every Time a call was made by either of us we were told by the RV employees it was one thing or another for why we couldn't have our RV back and now and next thing you know we are in October and I guess your only service tech had an emergency and could not continue work on the RV, that is after many excuses of why the cylinders were not back yet. Well now all of a sudden it 10/26/16 and low in behold they fine "other things wrong" just out of the blue. Now keep in mind the cylinder that was send out and came back don't you know "blew while testing" and need to order and should have ready by 11/21/16. Keep in mind we told them that we are having company from Texas and New Jersey and need this RV for them to sleep in that we do not have the room at our house.. Well company arrived and RV still not ready. Company had to sleep on a blow up mattress "she is 91 years old" and other company had to go stay at the Crown Inn from 11/20-11/23/16 and please keep in mind this is after flying to come see us for Thanksgiving, that they had to sleep in a Inn which was not fair to them to have to pay for a Inn because of the incompetency of all of the employees involved with this. On 11/22/16 was told we could come get the RV well we did only to find out that we had to return it back on 11/23/16 that the other cylinder had blown. Did not receive our RV back until 12/20/16 and between the 11/22/16 bill which was $2,550.22 and the 12/20/16 bill which was $1,266.94 you are talking about a total of $3,817.16. Not counting all the inventory in the RV left in there for 4 months, not being able to go on our trips for the prime travel time, not being able to have our out of state company use it and them having to pay for an Inn and sleep on an air mattress at the age of 91. But the gull of this company to turn around and have to nerve to charge us not once but twice for things they were not our fault. This seemed like a total scam of a way to make money from a loyal customer but never again. This was not the only issue we had come in earlier in April and was charged $2713.68 and I guess I should have known not to go back. This is an embarrassment to me that I had to have family stay at a Inn paying $210.00 after paying for airfare and having my 91 year old mom sleep on a blowup mattress for the holidays. I will not recommend Camping World or Camping Time RV Centers, LLC to anyone because you do not look out for the customer but to rip off the customer that is required to leave the RV with your establishment for the best part of RVing season for 4 months and not to mention having to throw out all the food and other belongs that sat in the RV for the hot summer and the fall. To be charged this amount like I have said I am not sure how the mechanic Shannon Holt and the Service Manager TW can sleep at night. I also have ALL of my receipts along with the details of each call along with the Inn receipt for $210.00; I can give you an estimated total of all the items I had to throw away after the RV sitting on your lot for 4 months. Please get back to me for any further information you require. If I do not hear back from anyone I will mail this same letter to the head of Camping World and Camping Time RV Centers, LLC. Just a FYI the actual place was: Camping World/Camping Time RV Centers, LLC 505 Parkway 575 Woodstock, GA 30188 7**-**1-3622 - Camping Time RV Centers, LLC/CWRV Sales Woodstock 770-926-****-Camping World

Camping World - Rv Repair Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have found that the Service Department Camping World of St Augustine keeps an incompent work force. Without a lot of words Igive a brief description. Purchaes a new camper in 2014? Mentioned the seat back of the dinnete area appeared to have a problem. Issue appeared to be improved went on trip for about a month. Returned same issue with backrest seat on dinnette. The service dept. was to address the problem. Well after two years of very lightuse the problem has gotten worse. I took the seat and backrest appart. Called Keystone and was told oh that seatback was only designed to support 100 pounds. Well had the selling agent hadletme know I wouldhave chosen a different unit. Back to the problem. The only thing I found after disassembly was the wooden frame work is broken, along with poor design. I can understand the bad design, to many bean counters, but to fix broken wood with copious amounts of staples does not fix a problem. I will redesign the backrest and install a better engineered framework. My advise to anyone using the service dept to R/R any problem. Before they cover up the work you demand to inspect the finished product. Also demand old parts replaced. Do no trust them.

After the purchase, then what?

I made a purchase 2 weeks ago of a new 5th wheel from Camping World of Wood Village, Oregon. At purchase, it was agreed that they would install a 5th wheel sliding hitch on my 2017 Ford PU. I drove an hour (2 hours round trip) to be there to get the hitch installed and after 4 hours, the service dept. advised that they had the wrong part and had to order a new one. I was also advised that they could not find the keys to the new 5th wheel that I had purchased. Went back the next week after they stated that the part would be there. After arriving at 8 AM, was advised that it was on the UPS truck and would arrive between 10 and noon. The truck arrived at noon and at 2 pm, they again advised me that they had the wrong part. I left and arrived several days later at 9 am after being told that the part did arrive At noon, they advised that again they had the wrong part and that they found out that since my Ford was a new model with an aluminum bed, that the necessary part had yet to be produced and wouldn't be produced until mid Dec. It would be until January before they would be able to receive and install it. So after 6 total hours of driving back and forth and waiting in their waiting room for a total of 14 plus hours, no 5th wheel hitch. The general manager then talked with me and advised that they would pay a driver to deliver it to my residence storage area for me for me at no charge the following week. He also advised that they would winterize the 5th wheel. I was called Friday by the general manager again and stated that he was arranging for the delivery the following week. Monday I had not received a call, so I called and left 2 messages for the general manager to call. No call. I called back on Tuesday ) and talked with him. He advised that he got too busy to call me back, but that he was able to arrange a driver and that driver was supposed to have called me. By the way, I still haven't been advised if they had indeed winterized the unit and cold weather is supposed to arrive soon. I was thrilled with the purchase, but since the purchase I feel that I have been treated EXTREMELY poorly. I have kept all my conversations on a civil level, but am extremely surprised that a company as large as Camping World has so little respect for their customers after they make a purchase that they would treat me this way. Camping World should be making all the arrangements with people for me and keeping me informed, which they have not.

It is January 5, 2017 and Camping World still doesn't have the part. Called yesterday and they advised that Reese is now producing the part and I should be getting it around 1-11-17.

WOW, 2 months after I bought the 5th wheel.

Will be waiting to see if the part comes in as stated. Still no apology from Camping World's general manager, he evidently is too busy to get in touch with me.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased a new Trailer, first timer at Fort Myers ,Florida Right from my very first time going to purchase needed items I had problems with LACK of customer service. A year 1/2 later it is no better, it seems to be a company wide issue after reading other reviews. No one ever wants to help you. Camping World is known for this. They need to send them all to training or better yet fire everyone and start over. I am looking to trade in my trailer at this time, spoke to two different Camping Worlds about other units, no call backs. I'll be looking at other dealers. .

I needed to get Warranty work done ordered by NTSB. Camping world took me in tad resolved it. I am do a refund through Jayco after CWorld filed paper work. They told me it was my responsibility. Now Jayco says they will pay as soon as they get the paperwork. $375.00 The Service person as well as the Service Manage will not return my e mails or phone calls. How do they keep a good paying customer who has spent a lot of money there. I am between a rock and a hard place now. Don't know where to go.

Camper world will find any way possible to take your money and then some. After paying nearly 2k in "paper work" fees, we get our license plate with just a temporary tag. They couldn't even pay the $150 for the 1 year tag. So far I have recommended 2 of my coworkers not to deal with camper world.

Camping World - Customer Care Review from New York, New York

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased a used RV from camping world in Tampa late last spring It stayed parked in storage sox 8 months with just being started weekly. We got it out prior to going on a 3 month trip. Generator would not work. We took it in. $300 later they said it was fixed. We got to North Carolina and it was out of oil . We filled it up and went on to upstate New York. Out of oil again after 6 gallons of oil we called camping world in Syracuse and the fixed it and our awning strap pronto for very reasonable price. Then after about a week the generator froze up and couldn't be fixed because the company no longer exist and parts cannot be found. We had extended warranty but they said they only par for parts and wasn't their fault it couldn't be fixed. Our service rep Christine Parks went to bat for us and ended up getting them to pay 76% of the cost. We are stuck here waiting fo r the new generator but camping world is allowing us to stay in lot with full hook-ups and Christine has been wonderful. We have watched as she has spent countless hours on phone witn warranty people and finding and tracking our generator and the parts to install it. I'm not too happy with Tampa CW. I feel the list of the generator may be due to their negligence in not recognizing the generator had an oil leak to begin with. But Syracuse camping World is great. Everyone there has be extremely nice and I don't know what we would have done without Christine. She went above and beyond the call of duty (even after I was not so nice to her. Yelling at her for things that was not her fault). Love her!

A great service experience saved our entire trip!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Traveling from Georgia on a 6 week cross country trip to the West Coast during June, we were in route to pick up our Grandchildren to join us. Our generator failed in route and wouldn’t start. With 100 degree temperatures in Missouri and facing 120 degree temperatures ahead in the deserts, we knew the generator powering the overhead AC units was critical. Despite a very busy service department, the Michael was able to get us time with service tech Kevin. Kevin processed methodically to eliminate the simple and obvious problems. After all attempts had been exhausted, the service manager George took over. George, who hereafter should be known as the “diesel whisperer”, finally coaxed the generator alive. An intermittent fuel pump was the final diagnosis. Michael then accommodated us with onsite overnight camping as the replacement part couldn’t be delivered until the next morning. He even gave us his personal cell phone in case we had a need during the night. The following day, Kevin and Steve made the final installations while enduring yet another bath of diesel fuel as they had to make all repairs from underneath the vehicle. The team next invested the extra time of letting the generator run and inspecting for any leaks or other problems. We completed the trip of the lifetime with our generator running flawlessly. My wife and I own a Servpro franchise and are blessed with a team of 15 great service people. We know firsthand, the challenges of providing such great service to the public. Too many customers of our generation are quick to find fault, but slow to compliment. Let me praise the entire team at Camping World, Springfield, Mo. Each person was compassionate to our needs and the emergency that we encountered. Every person was polite and courteous during our every interaction. They were competent and skilled in their work. They tackled the repair in a cost effective manner by starting with the simplest, fastest and least costly solutions. Just the way I would spend my own time and money doing repairs myself. George, as team leader, moved energetically around the entire facility “pollenating” each of his teams as he was needed. He was holding the first standup meeting with his crew before I had started my morning coffee. Michael, courteously and effectively dealt with a perpetually deep line of summer time customers, while ensuring that each of us felt properly attended to. Kevin, lay on the boiling asphalt (there wasn’t room inside any repair bays), drowned in diesel fuel yet remained cheerful and engaged throughout. Within the first hour, I felt a confidence and trust for this team as I do with the mechanics that care for our fleet at home. It was quickly evident that this level of professionalism is the daily standard at Camping World, Springfield. Thanks again to Kevin, George, Michael and Steve for delivering such excellent customer service to our family.

*** Poor Attitude

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We have a 2015 Thor Chateau with an extended warranty. We were in Colorado Springs on the last day of our two week vacation and 19 hours from home. When we turned on the inverter a E05 code came on and the inverter started to smoke. We took it the Camping World Store in Fountain Co. When I explained the issue to the warranty service writer (Diesel) he picked up his appointment book and said the earliest I can get you in is next week. I explained our situation and that we were 19 hours from home with a smoking inverter. He could have cared less, no offer to look at it to confirm the issue, no offer to disconnect it, no suggestion on running the generator to get us home, next week end of discussion. If this is the attitude of Camping World in general I when it comes to helping stranded customers I will never buy another product from them.

Camping World in New Brsunfels got it in two days later and although the dsmsge was extensive and complex they hot it iut within a couple of weeks. The Service Msnager, Bill Heinrich, took a personal interest in my situation, stsyed on top of it znd kept me ingormed every strp of the way. Completely Satisfied

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Directed to Camping World, Jackson, MS. Loading up the Winnebago for a one month trip with our Grandson to Yellowstone only to find out A/C does NOT work. Jimmy Humphrey (service Mgr) treated our problem as an emergency. Not only did he get us in right away, his assistant, Drew initiated the paperwork along with Katlyn A. to get the A/C covered under warranty. Floor foreman Charlie and ace mechanic Eddie, removed our A/C in about 15 minutes thinking Camping World had one in stock, but did not. These guys located a new replacement, sent a runner and Eddie had us leaving within two hours. The impressive part of my story is; they did not sell us our Winnebago and gave us priority over a shop full of Campers to accommodate our situation unlike other local shops who would have made us wait two weeks. My Thanks to all of you

Sales department great. Just don’t take your RV to their service department.

Go to Myers or Rocky Mountain for service. They will lie to your face at this Good Sams service center.

If you do go there don’t bother with an appointment just stand in line and hope they even look at your RV within a week or so. I have made appointments and they don’t mean anything

This place is a joke worst experience ever and talking to the bbb about the damage that was done to our camper while it was in for warranty work. They have had our camper for way more than two months off and on trying to get things done. When u get upset they tell they can't or won't work on ur camper that they damaged and side swiped while in there lot for service any longer , when we had to go to upper management at another location and so far just got a manager that was mad cause u went higher up the chain in managment. Don't go to Avondale service . And would never ever buy from them again has been the most stressful experience we have ever had. And just got a phone call saying your camper has been done for a week and how was ur service , we are in shock we were told last night our work isn't done and won't be done .
