Camping World - Absolutely no warranty on their products even though they try to sell the warranties.

Camping World - Absolutely no warranty on their products even though they try to sell the warranties.
I bought a Remco variable-speed water pump from Camping World for $168. There was no mention of buying an extended warranty for it until I got to the store to try to return it after 3 months of use. The box plainly shows two year warranty on it. The store says you have to buy the warranty from them at the time of purchase in their store. I have since found out that that warranty is useless because you have to return it within 90 days in the original box in new condition. Please try to share this with everyone you know that has an RV. The law ought to shut them down for false advertising warranty fraud.

Camping World in Concord, Indiana - 15 minutes of repairs in 5 weeks but not what was needed

Details
This is a copy of a complaint that I sent to Thor Motorcoach. I filled out the online survey and was told that I should contact warranty support to get some problems taken care of. This is in regards to a 2019 Thor palazzo that I purchased in February 13th. I have to say that my purchase of the 2019 Palazzo from Camping World in Hendersonville, NC was one of the most unpleasant experiences that I have ever been through. It started out fine during the sales process but AFTER the contract was signed on the day after we agreed on a priced, Camping World came back with a list of everything that they felt was not perfect in the 2015 Thor ACE 29.2 with 20,000 miles on it that we were trading in and tried to get me to pay several thousand dollars more! They even tried to get me to buy new tires! My wife and I were at Camping World on February 12th, we left our trade in with them over night, after they had already looked at it and given us a trade in and we went back to sign the papers on February 13, 2019. I got so mad that I told them to tear the contract up. I now wish that I would have stuck to that and not purchased a new coach. Since that day, the entire experience has been a nightmare! I drove to Daytona Beach, FL on business and found out that the air conditioner in the front of the coach is not working properly because the front of the coach was 82 to 85 degrees during the heat of the day and the rear was roughly 76 even though they were both set on 72. Had the rear air not been working, the heat inside would have gotten unbearable. I sell Ford Powerstroke diesel engines so I travel around to racetracks and have to dry camp. Since I was dry camping, I ran the generator during the day but shut it off at night. In doing so, I figured out that the inverter was not working because I had no power to the refrigerator and something was draining the battery at night to the point in which I had to start the coach every morning just to get enough power to start the generator. In order to run my refrigerator while traveling, I also have to run the generator which is rather inconvenient. The first time I took a shower, it was apparent that the on-demand water heater was not working properly but I was able to get a somewhat comfortable shower taken. While I was in Florida, C.W. of Hendersonville contacted me to tell me that the part that they had ordered for the water heater was in and that I could bring it back to get it fixed. Really? They sent me out with a $200,000 coach with a water heater that didn't work! A week later, I hit rain for the first time and discovered that my windshield wipers didn't work. I called and made an appointment with Camping World in Dover, FL to drop the coach off on February 26th so they could fix the wipers. I told them that I was flying to Asheville, NC and would return on March 6th to pick up my coach. I flew back to Tampa 10 days later on 3/6 and found out that just diagnosed the problem and ordered a windshield wiper switch for the coach earlier that same morning! I continued on my business trip without any windshield wipers, having to drive in the rain several times without wipers and arrived back in Asheville, NC on March 11th. I dropped my coach off at Camping World in Hendersonville, NC where I had purchased it to get the Windshield wipers fixed and to have them fix the water heater. When I dropped it off the week of March 11th, I gave them a list of things that were wrong with the coach so they could fix it while they had it for the water heater and the wipers. Here is the list: 1) Water heater 2) Windshield wipers 3) Front air conditioner 4) Emergency exit window in bedroom 5) Top door lock 6) Sound bar (outside TV) 7) Inverter 8) screen door 9) Low coolant in Generator 10) Top pantry keeps coming open when driving 11) Steering wheel not straight / alignment (C.W. told me to call Freightliner. I called and they won't set an appointment, they said that I had to drop it off and they would get to it after all of the trucks that came in before me were fixed) 12) Burning rubber smell in bedroom after driving (C.W. said Freightliner would have to fix) 13) Keys to fit the side compartments that I never received 14) need instruction on how to connect with Weingard WiFi booster because I never received any. Originally, the Hendersonville store told me that I had to take it back to the Dover store because they had initiated the warranty repair. After a phone call to Thor, I spoke to Tyler who got us on a conference call with Brian Dietz from C.W. in Hendersonville. He authorized Hendersonville to do the work and said that Thor would send the part needed (#0312497 as determined by the Dover C.W. store) directly to me and I would have to deliver it to the Hendersonville store. EIGHT DAYS LATER I still didn't have the part so I called Thor. Tyler was not available so another gentleman looked everything up and said that the part had never been shipped. He said that he would ship the part to me overnight via Air Freight . The next day, I called Brian Dietz at C.W. to tell him that I finally had the part. He informed me that Thor had also sent them the part overnight and that it just arrived. Fast forward to April 19th, FIVE WEEKS after I dropped my motorhome off at Camping World. I picked my coach up because I have another race to go to this weekend. They say the water heater is fixed but I haven't tried it yet. I tried the windshield wipers on the way home but they did not work. They noted on the repair order that the coach needs to be plugged in so the battery doesn't get drained at night. I'm not stupid, I've owned various RVs since 1975, I know how they are supposed to work! Something is still draining the battery at night and the inverter does not power anything when not plugged in. They also told me that the engine was low on coolant and the check engine light had come on. Apparently they must not have checked that when they delivered the brand new RV to me because it shouldn't have been low after less than 3,000 miles. I made the 40 minute drive to C.W. on 4/22 to talk to them about the windshield wipers still not working. Brian Dietz looked the work order up and told me that he did not see any time being charged to fixing the windshield wipers. WHAT!!!? They never even fixed them! Here is what got fixed in 5 weeks: They re-positioned the door latch to fix the way the screen door and door lock work. They moved the seal on the emergency exit window a little lower. 15 minutes of work in 5 weeks! Just so you know, C.W. in Hendersonville blamed Thor for not fixing anything. They told me that they submitted a request to do them but they have not received authorization from Thor. I'm leaving in a tomorrow to continue my business trip, (DRY CAMPING at race tracks, first heading heading to eastern NC before turning north and driving to Minnesota, arriving may 10th. I sure hope that it doesn't rain while I'm driving because I have no wipers. I have to live out of a cooler because the inverter doesn't work. I have to duct tape the top pantry to keep it from opening during travel. It's supposed to be in the 80's this weekend so I had to add coolant to my generator so I can run an air conditioner that doesn't work. I told C.W. that I would be bringing my motorhome back on April 30th, next Tuesday, to get EVERYTHING FIXED before I leave again ONE WEEK later. I don't care if Thor has to fly a tech down to Camping World in Hendersonville NC to work on my coach himself rather than rely on the C.W. people to see if they might be able find more than 15 minutes in the following 5 weeks to work on it. I paid $200,000 for a brand new Thor motorhome on February 13th and more than 2 months later, I don't have major components working after having it sitting at two different Camping World dealerships for 7 weeks out of the 10 weeks that I've owned it! Flying a tech in to make a customer happy is far cheaper than dealing with a Lemon Law Attorney or paying for hotel rooms all summer while I am at the various diesel events working. The customer service that I have gotten is absolutely the worse customer service that I have ever gotten from any business. If I was Thor, I would prohibit Camping World from representing my business. Sincerely, Rob Newcomb

I hate to say this but you might want to read their reviews cause they are awful. You might want to watch the videos on YouTube about the CampingWorld scams.

Camping World in Nampa, Idaho - Shady purchasing experience

I walked in Pre-approved from my credit union and ready to buy until Camping World in Caldwell,ID tried to charge me an additional $1500 for not allowing them to finance my trailer on my own. Ultimately I allowed them to do the financing to save $ but made them send the signed application directly to my Credit Union. Camping World then send my finance application to my CU with inaccurate terms. 15 years instead of 10 and 18k instead of the $15k I agreed and signed in. Luckily my CU caught it and called me. Camping World Financing, They tried to scare me Into buying every service contact under the sun. Which if I did would have jumped my finance amount from 15k up to 20+K! Then they made me feel guilty for not buying it. Not cool. I took the gap insurance then continued to sign the contracts. But not before I caught them trying to sell me the trailer As-Is when they’d promised me a 30-day warranty. Luckily I caught it and they honored it. Overall a shady experience. People need to hold them accountable and be extremely thorough entering any agreements with them. Read your paperwork!

I tried to buy a used 2009 Roadtrek 170 Popular from Camping World in Berkley, MA. It was advertised on their website. It had less than 13,000 miles. Pictures and descriptions looked exactly what I was looking for. I contacted their sales department and was told they would not sell it to me unless I came to see it. That meant living in Missouri would require plane tickets and another person to accompany me should I decide to buy and drive it home. But they would not hold it for me without a non-refundable deposit of $1,000. No way would I buy tickets and take the chance that the RV had been sold prior to my arrival so I agreed to the demand of a $1,000 on April 10. Ten days went by and I was constantly sending some form of communication inquiring about the condition, rust on under carriage, batteries, tires, hoses and power cables and so on to make sure it was exactly as described to me. Replies to my questions were slow and delayed. Every time there was an excuse- busy, lunch, day off, meetings to attend and the list would grow. Never ending story. It wasn't until April 20th I was informed that the generator had been removed by previous owner and never replaced!! Of course the salesman said that was the reason for low price. I had to remind him that originally he told me I was getting a price reduction since I was financing with them. I told him I was upset to find out 4 days before I was supposed to fly there that it don't have a working generator. He later told me they no longer make a drop in generator for that year RoadTrek. Naturally he said there wasn't anything he could do since it was the weekend. So today April 22, he sent an email to me stating they would offer $500 -$1000 to offset the lack of a generator. He also told me that he didn't know until that Saturday that it didn't have a generator! Needless to say I am not flying to MA to check out this non generator RoadTrek RV. With all the lies, deception and false advertising you can imagine what else might be wrong with this RV! BTW they did REFUND my NON- refundable deposit. I commend them for their honesty for their lies! It would have left a better taste in my mouth and wallet had they reimbursed me for the cost of the airplane fare! People had warned me about Camping World prior to my looking at this RV but I shrugged it off. I found out that they were correct.

Camping World in Lakewood Township, New Jersey - Walked away from Deal

2.1
Details
My family and I walked into camping world in Lakewood, NJ a week ago and liked a 2019 heartland Prowler 32 ft. I left a deposit and was told to come back in a week to pick up. Well we arrived at 830 on Saturday 4/20 to pick up camper and it went downhill from there. I still didn’t know my payment or the APR of my loan (even though I was approved), I had asked for satellite tv to be included (it wasn’t) and a generator (it wasn’t) and they had no recollection of our two discussions about these items. I was then told I needed to install a hitch package (of course at an additional cost) and I was ready to walk from the deal, but they threw in the hitch and installation so I gave them another shot. I proceeded out to the camper in the garage to do a “walk through” and found the flaring wasn’t completely screwed in with the rep stating “well sometimes they come from the factory that way”???i then went inside and they turned everything on and when the AC/Heat Thermostat was demonstrated it was in Celsius blanked when touched and took repeated touches to operate even one degree up or down. I asked about this and the rep said well these things are hit or miss and I left and walked to the sales manager and ended the deal and asked for my refund. This camper was a wreck and all they wanted to do was make the sale! Glad I left that headache on the lot!

Be glad you walked away!!! I have a 2019 class A Georgetown ....

it has had many problems.... it was in the shop and to be repaired... after camping one time there are still issues with it and some are repeats... the bad part is I’ve been calling Apollo Camping World for a week and leaving messages to get a call back to make an appointment.

No response!!!

If I don’t hear back today I’m going to call the corporate hotline and complain. See if that does any good!
