Camping World in Springfield, Ohio - Being charged twice

I ordered a grill and never recieved the grill. I called to ask where my grill was, they said the grill was damamged and they were sending it back. They neglected to call me and tell me this. I then told them to keep the grill just give me my money back. The agreed to give me my money back in two to three business days. 3 business days came and went, yet the order was processed so they had to re-refund me my money. 2 Weeks later my bank account is charged another time for this same grill. After calling customer service they tell me they are sending me the grill again. I told I never ordered this grill and did not want the grill. They told me the grill is on it's way and I have to go through the motions to canel the order once the grill arrives. They will not give me my money back until they get the grill back. Once they have it they can take all the time they want give me my money back on my order. I strongly suggest you order from another company. I have never had problems with a company like the ones I am having now.

Camping World in Waldorf, Maryland - Did not post negative consumer feedback

I bought 2 6 lug VersaLock Trailer Hub covers from Camping World online based, in part, on two positive reviews. Both covers fell off within 1,000 miles. I submitted negative feedback on that product. Customer feedback is not automatically posted. They review the feedback and decide whether or not to post it. They did not post my negative feedback. So, the next customer only sees the same two positive reviews that contributed to my buying the product. How can we trust the Camping World website feedback if they filter out the bad ones. They should show all, or none; not just the good ones.

Camping World in Washington, District Of Columbia - Charged for something they did not do.

Camping world charged me $119 to have my refrigerator work in the auto mode when not plugged in. When I got home it was not working. Their solution was to return my motor home. They had it four days and it took me an hour just to get paper work done. I am not inclined to spend another $50 in gas and lose another week. I just want a refund. I have spoken to other customers who have simular experience. Let me clarafy that this was at the Camping World in Katy. I contacted Camping World and just got lip service for my trouble.

Camping World in Bellevue, Washington - Camping wourld charged $1200.00 to fix my dash air and never worked!

I took my 2001 Beaver in to have the air conditioner repaired would not blow cold air.I Have United States Warranty insurance.I picked it up after about a week. It was cool that day so I wasn't able to check it out until the next outing.Did not blow cold air. I made an appointment, took it back in to have them fix it correctly. It cost $1200.00 the first time They replaced the regulator valve and some other things??? They informed me that it would cost $1400.00 this time Because the fitting at the compressor was leaking. Which means they had to replace the flex hose that ran from the rear of the vehicle to the front of vehicle, hose $500.00 and that the labor would an additional $900.00 for labor. I told them that I would not pay for the extra. I told them I wanted my money back that I would not have paid that much to have the air conditioner fixed. Total 2600.00 dollars. So I paid 2600.00 and never got it fixed. I came home checked it out installed a high pressure clamp on the fitting and it is fixed. Works fine if you know more than the mechanic that couldn't fix it!!!

Camping World in Indianapolis, Indiana - Overcharged for unsatisfactory repairs on my RV

We brought our Fleetwood Pace Arrow into Camping World in Greenwood, IN to have the air conditioner fixed because it was not blowing cold air. After over $500.00 in charges the air conditioner still did not blow cold air. Camping World said they checked out the air conditioning system and made sure the unit was powering up and working but it was not their responsibility to see if it blew cold air. They claimed that we did not specify that the AC did not blow cold air, just that it wasn't working properly. DUH. They tuned up the generator, which was working fine before we took it in, and now it takes forever to start it and it shorts out the house batteries. I suggest you do not have your RV serviced at Camping World if you want it repaired properly.

Camping World in Charlotte, North Carolina - Incomplete service and incomplete equipment

Purchased what suppose to be new camper from site in Myrtle Beach. Equipment was missing, camper was nasty. Over charged. Salesperson was rude. Camper had warped metal so some of the doors would not close. This was a 2012 Model Coleman camper.Model CT275BH.. Do not go to Myrtle Beach on *** Pond Road and purchase anything. Very unsatisfied and need explanations of bill of sale and overcharged....... The salesman should be reprimanded or fired. Dealership needs to have license revoked for selling used campers as new ones. Nothing as far as paperwork matched up. Contradictions everywhere. Very Very pissed!

Camping World in Gresham, OR

Something is terribly wrong with this dealership. They seem very corrupt and disorganized. I would be verrrrry cautious purchasing an RV from this business. They are not upfront, very greedy and unethical. I went there to look at some of their coaches. I was placed in one of their rooms and the salesman kept disappearing and returning with his numbers for a deal. He seemed very nervous and unsure of just being a salesman. Someone else must be crunching the numbers and so it was very eery but this place is totally out of whack with their prices. They will not bargain and so I think they are close to going out of business. There was this huge showroom and I only saw maybe 2 salesman and the place was vacant.

Camping World in Holtsville, New York - Mako 5th Wheel

Update by user Sep 04, 2011

Well I must say reputation and referrals are everything. Not only did we find a reputable repair facility we also had our claim reopened because Camping World did not do a thorough investigation or give a real explanation of damages.

As it turns out our camper is \"Well Maintained\" and the damages are covered by the insurance carrier. Really? Evedn our Insurance company(After the fact) told us the Camping World has a horrible reutation. Why they didn\'t tell us that in the beginning is beyond me.

Needless to say, We are now shopping for a new 5th wheel and I can only tell you where we WON\'T buy it. Looking forward to next season and definitely learned a lesson in service 101.

Much to my dismay, it looks like I am not the only dissatisfied customer of Camping World. Though we originally purchased through Camping World, Which was Sunbird Rv at the time, there was no loyalty on their part. There are many other consumers that have had the same experience, problems not clearly identified. Poor decision on our part to take it in to Camping World without doing a consumer check first, but we were so distraught at our initial finding we wanted to get it taken care of as soon as possible. Who knew that such a large Name chain would offer such poor service and results. We were told the gasket around the air conditioner on the roof should be replaced, they could repair that for $500, My husband asked if that's where it was leaking, the answer...we don't know. Really? This is the "RV Expert Center"? I think not. My insurance carrier is under the impression that the damage done to our trailer is from neglect and will not cover our losses, yet camping world service tech's are telling us they can't be sure where the issue originated, how bad it is, or if it was a manufacturer defect. Yet, I should be responsible for repairs! Outraged by their lack of professionalism. Will be extremely happy to share the information with the very large circle of campers we know, all local and many were customers of Camping World. Our other realization is be very careful who you choose to insure your RV. American Modern Insurance Group is not even considering a claim for us and closed it based on a handful of pictures sent in by the technician at Camping World. I find it outrageous that they don't even have a qualified individual to send out to assess the damages themselves in order to make an accurate determination.

When was the last time you resealed or paid someone to reseal the roof? Most people never do it and then get upset when it is not covered by their insurance company??

Its not camping worlds fault that YOUR insurance did not cover the claim. Your insurance company can inspect the trailer and come to their own conclusion.

You have to stick together. We campers have a lot in common: the great outdoors and a zest for friendship and shared interests while on the road! Camping World does suck and I pray people will listen.

Camping world charged $1,900 for repairs and didn't deliver

I contaced camping world and made arrangements to have the generator fixed, have a satelite receiver installed and a few other issues, before our 3 week vacation. We scheduled for the Motor Home to go in 4 days before our vacation started. We were told there should be no problem getting it taken care of, in fact they would have it done in two days. On the morning of the second day I received a call telling me the generator needed a starter, and they would call me right back with an estimate. Later that afternoon I received a call telling me it would probably be best if I took the Motorhome to the generator dealer and have them fix it. Because the generator dealer could not get to it for two weeks I called Camping World back and told them they would need to complete the repairs. They told me they couldn't do it until the next week. I finally insisted that awas not acceptable. I then got a call back saying they would install the starter the following day, (now the third day). They also then informed me that they could not program the Satelite receiver they had just installed, (and charged $119 just to plug it in). Camping world said the unit would be done by the end of the day on the third day. We arrived to pick it up 20 minutes before closing and it was not done. They said it was taking longer and they still needed about 45 minutes and wanted to finish the next day. I refused because we were already late in leaving for our trip. They reluctantly agreed to keep working and finished up in about an hour. Two of the additional items we asked them to do, were to fix the refrigerator, it was not cooling on gas, and to install a trailer brake controller. When we hooked up our trailer we discovered the brake controller was not working. On the second day of our trip the refrigerator was just barely cool. We stopped by on our way out of town and they fixed the brake controller. They told us they could look at the refrigerator for nearly 2 weeks and it didn't matter to them that they had just worked on it. Then they told us that if a RV refrigerator lights but doesn't cool enough the only option is to replace it. Earlier this same person told me the purpose of my inverter was to convert 110v A/C to 12v DC. By the way after paying around $500 to have the generator fixed, it won't start again. I did call the customer service number for Camping World Headquarters. They told me someone would check into the situation and call me back. It has been more than a week and no call yet. I paid $1,900 for the repairs, my refrigerator still doesn't work, the dash air isn't cooling again, I had to call the satelite dish manufacturer and spend about 15 minutes on the phone with them to program the dish (camping world refused to make that call), my generator won't start. I WILL NEVER DARKEN THE DOOR OF A CAMPING WORLD LOCATION ANYWHERE.

Camping World in Rochester, New York - Lied, horrible service, wont fix an identified problem that they lied existed!

Where to start? Camping World Churchville, NY - HORRIBLE. We were told to steer clear and we found the used camper we were looking for and bought it anyway. Our pick up was horrible!!! They could care less about your time, your expense or what you want. After we got the pick up squared away we realize a week or so later they gave us the wrong hitch and sway bars. They were not strong enough to carry our camper!!! If my husband was not an engineer we may never have figured that out! I have three small children and they could have cared less for our safety. They changed them after we called every other camping world in the area to check that we were right. We also asked is there was water damage due to a red flag on the side and were told no. When my husband went up on top we noticed about 20 feet fb bubbling. After much complaining they came and picked it up. I told them we had a trip planned but they didn't look at it until the day before. Then they told us they were not fixing the damage. What??? We have had this camper 6 weeks and you sold us a badly damaged camper and lied when we asked you a direct question. They don't return phone calls and are frankly very poor business people. We are suing these people for fraud on our purchase. Stand behind your product!!! Absolutely disgraceful. STAY AWAY!!!

We have had the misfortune of having to deal with these @$$holes ourselves. I'm tired of the run around and have contacted the Missouri Attorney General for Camping World in Grain Valley.

All of them are shady....and no...they don't return e-mails or phone calls. They are rude and inconsiderate. They don't care about you.

I will be applauding when they go under, because they will. Word travels fast and if enough people get a hold of the attorney general to stand beside them.....Camping world will sink right to the bottom of their *** hole mess.
