Camping World in Saint Augustine, Florida - Poor Service at St Augustine

Tried to add a second charge for installation of washer and dryer when I refused the cost and installation they changed their minds A promise of detailing my coach for free due to the amount of money spent from Paul service manager. NEVER DONE Insulted by John service rep when questioned about detailing whose response was wax is in the wash. They never even washed it. Excuse after excuse , time promised 3 days took 7 days Lousy service, lack of communication between management and employees promises not kept. Trying to over charge Read reviews before contracting BUYERS BEWARE !

Camping World in Louisville, Tennessee - Quoted $2,072 for a tow package-- charged $2,811 due to service dept error

My husband and I have a National Dolphin Class A Motorhome that we purchased at the Louisville TN Camping World location. We love the motorhome and very much dislike the service department. We decided we wanted to install a tow package to tow our Jeep behind the RV. Now we are relatively new to camping and don't know what specific parts we needed for a tow package so we relied on the sales staff from the service department to detail the work order for us and we scheduled the job to be completed. Our Work Order 256-2843675 had a quote for a tow package for $2,072.85 with the parts and labor broken out --we decided we could afford that and scheduled the work to be completed. What we did not know was that the work order did not contain a quote for a separate tow bar. Apparently the service department had us confused with a different customer who had his own tow bar already installed on the motorhome and we were given the wrong quote. Unfortunately we did not now this --the initial work was completed on the Jeep installing the all of the parts relevant to the Jeep. We were called that the installation on the Jeep was finished and to bring in the motorhome to complete the installation and be shown how to tow the Jeep with the motorhome. At this point, AFTER ALL THE WORK WAS ALREADY COMPLETE and not before, we received the work order with a NEW TOTAL of $2,884.31. We had not received notice either verbally or in writing that there would be a cost difference of $811.46. The service department representative apologized to my husband and said that it was his mistake. He said he had us confused with a different customer. We were not prepared for a difference in price of $811.46. My husband took the motorhome and Jeep home-- I stayed behind because I still had questions related to the charges on the work order. The service man was rude to me personally when I had questions about the bill after my husband left. I did become quite upset due to the large price difference and the service person was grinning as if this was funny as I was leaving the store. So bottom line-- service department did not give us a correct quote! The service department did not notify us that there would be an additional $811 in charges. The service department was very rude to me as I was asking questions. This is not our first bad experience with the service department. In Oct 203 we needed work completed on the generator--covered by the warranty we purchased. The RV sat on their lot for 4 MONTHS!!! We had to cancel our trip to Disney. It was the winter so the service department let the pipes freeze-- they did replace the pipes and installed a new faucet but never said anything to us or apologize. We noticed because I knew the sink faucet was different and close inspection on the work order noted new pipes and sink faucet. Now I DID ASK THAT THEY WINTERIZE THE RV--they said it was not necessary. Looks like they were wrong and had to fix their error. I've made a formal complaint to Good Sam Online but not sure that anything will be corrected. I feel in the least, Camping World should have eaten the cost of their mistake and we should have paid the original work order of $2,072. Or in the very least, charged us half of the additional cost. TERRIBLE COMPANY AND PUTS A BAD NAME ON SUCH A WONDERFUL RECREATION. WE LOVE CAMPING!!!! BUT NOT CAMPING WORLD

I want to send in an update. I had also sent in a complaint to Camping World main office on their website.

Camping World had to local location in Louisville TN contact us.

The Louisville Camping World location corrected the situation and refunded the difference in the two invoices which was very generous.

The manager was very nice to work with and we are happy with the results.

We have learned that we need to better educate ourselves on RV issues so we will better understand estimates and invoices.

We do so appreciate that Camping World corrected this issue--- turns out we experienced some damage to a storage compartment door on our last trip so we will be going back to Camping World to get help to find a replacement door and have it installed.

I think this time I'll know how to read the estimate and know what questions to ask before actually having work completed.

All in all, I will continue to use Camping World as they were diligent in correcting our situation. Thank you

Camping World in Fox Point, Wisconsin - Very poor service

Went to Camping World Saukville Wisconsin to have a defective toilet valve replaced. Entire episode couldn't have been worse. Technician discovered broken valve within minutes, certainly less than 5. I was told it would be ready in 2 days. So far so good but this is where it began to fall apart. I checked 2 days later and was told they had to order the part; it would be in the following Monday. I told them I was leaving on Wednesday. I called Tuesday and was told the part was on the truck. They called me later to say it was the wrong part. They also said I should plan on 7 to 10 days for all service and repair work. I decided to try a local dealer - more on that later. I went to pick up the trailer and was charged $68 for nothing. When I attempted to hitch the trailer to my car, I noticed that the clip which secured the anti-sway bar hitch was missing. Went to Roskopf's RV, about 20 miles away. Got there at 1:30, explained my plight, and they had it replaced in less than an hour. The part was in stock there and they told me it was a very common part. I was misled and lied to by Camping World Saukville Wisconsin and was ripped off by being charged for work which wasn't done. I will buy my supplies elsewhere and would never consider buying an RV from Camping World.

I bought a very expensive new trailer and service has been terrible.I had 3 small items for warrenty work and it took forever to get my trailer back and one very cheap item on the list was not even repaired :((. One manager wouldn't even answer my email,the other managers I had to reach out to to get an answer.I will find a part to replace the warrenty item they didn't replace myself,I am done dealing with these people and I will never buy a trailer from them again!!!!!!!!!

Blaming the business on shipping time. This day and age people are getting dumber and dumber.

You can't get what you need in an hour if they don't have it they don't.

$68 is probably for shipping the part....... That you ordered

I just priced a used trailer there and was told there is a $1000 dealer prep fee. The other dealers I contacted didn't have a prep fee at all.

They also wanted twice the price to put on a weight distribution hitch and braking controls. BEWARE.

Camping World Repair Review

Buyers beware!!!! They will sell you an RV but when it comes to the service department it's a joke. 4 weeks to get in and then another 3-4 weeks to get the part, then of course another wait time to get the repair. Repairs are not a priority to them. Buy from somewhere else is my advise , and there store is way over priced too.

I am a very unhappy camper with these folks. What a bunch of crooks. Watch out for all the added fees and warranties these folks want to add. $500 to check the camper out? tried to sneak in $1800 service contract and another $200 that they really couldn't explain. Tried to sell us a camper with major water damage. I did not and will not do business with them. There are honest dealers out there, go find one, unless you want to pay way to much on a deal. I don't really have anything else to say to fill in the 100 word minimum. Hopefully this will be enough words.

Camping World in Colfax, North Carolina - Sorry warranty

We bought our very first camper from the Colfax, NC dealer in October of 2013. We had the camper winterized before we left the dealer because we knew that we would not be using it until it started to get warm. We ended up having to use it after an extended power outage. When we hooked up at the campground, my wife turned on the water for the kitchen faucet and the head of the faucet came off and I noticed that the shower head was leaking from a crack in the fitting. When I took it up to camping world to have the warranty take care of this, I was told that even thought that dealer was the one that had winterized it, that we had not had the camper winterized for the season and that it was not going to be covered by the warranty. Lets just say that it was a good thing that I worked for a plumber before I was in the military, so I ended up fixing the problem myself. We were going to use the camper a few weeks ago and the and found more problems with it, I decided that I would not go back to camping world and ended up taking the camper to my local family dealer right down the road from where we lived and ended up trading it in on a new camper that they had. I will never use camping world again.

Camping World in Redding, California - Inferior customer service

Bought trailer from them then bought a husky electric jack and had it installed.took trailer out camping on first trip and the leg bent. They refuse to replace or warranty it and only had one month.the say it is consumer error that it was dragged even though the wheels were chalked.I would go somewhere else if you want quality service and to be a happy customer. Now waiting for call from husky as they already denied warranty so waiting for supervisor. Will let you know if they make it right.save your money an go somewhere else you will be a lot happier and less headache.

Camping World in Rancho Cucamonga, California - Poor Service - St.Augustine FL

In February of 2013 I traded in my 5th wheel for a 2011 Tuscany from Camping World of St.Augustine, FL. Included in the deal they were to install a setup to tow my truck. Very poor job, the wiring to the back lights chafed in several places and had to be replaced, the tow hitch mounted to the truck was improperly installed and I later found that it is illegal to tow my truck without tow brakes. I was told some states do not require this, Fl and RI where I live do. They would do nothing to correct this. When we bought our RV we were told that it had been inspected and everything worked, not so. the outside TV was not plugged in, the washer did not work properly, the refrigerator leaked water on the floor, side camera missing lens cover, light fixture broke in bathroom, satellite not hooked up properly. We made arrangements to come back, in April, on our way home to RI to have these thing fixed. It took 1 week, they did not order the parts that were need in advance. The day we dropped it off we were told to come back around 4, to our surprise the RV had not been touched. MY ADVICE LOOK FOR A RESPECTFUL DEALER BEFORE YOU BUY.

I totally agree with your complaint, I just purchased a class A from them and was told the same ***. They had me bring it back and I had to wait there all day and nothing was done.

I have left 3 messages for the service manager to call me and he has not returned my calls. I will never do biz with CW again.

They let me take delivery of a coach with potential brake issues among other things.

The coach was supposed to be cleaned and it was dirty. This place is poorly managed and they have no respect for there costumers and we are there bread and butter..........

Camping World - Negative Review Not Published

I recently purchased a RV water filter that did not work. I was able to flush the filter but then the water flow completely stopped. Something was blocking the flow of water apparently within the filter. I wrote a polite short factual review giving a poor rating. My review was never published and I noticed that there are no negative reviews of any product on their web site. Over the years I've spent a fair amount of money with them. However no more as I am done with them. Most of the items that they sell can be purchased at Amazon and Amazon does not suppress negative reviews.
