@ Month later no resolve I finally had it repaired by some one else - just a warning again do not go to the service department of Camping World - even ther Service Manager admitted that: His comment -" I have over a 150 people angry at me you are not the only one." That shows they do not care about customer service. Again beware.

I have a world of problems with camping world - please do not purchase anything there or use the service departments - if you do a short search online you will see why - they lie they do not do their job on repairs - like: we will install the button for the heating unit but will not check if it works - that is the customers job - if you do a search on line you will see I am not the only one who has major problems with Camping World, this particular I have major problems with is in Kingston,Ny - even the service and desk reception people admit - oh yes we know there are a lot of people upset - how is that for being obtuse to the fact that people only want to have a camper that works properly.

Travel Trailer Review

We signed a contract and paid a deposit on an RV in mid January , they dragged it out until mid April. We finally make an appointment to pick it up on May 1st. We arrive to pick it up and it is not ready after they have know for 2 weeks we were coming to get it today.

Forgot to add them cleaning your new camper, that should already be done, is an option but they act like you have to let them do this , so they get 600 dollars and you get to wait .when you can do it your self faster and I'm sure a better job from what I've seen so far

Camping World in Spokane, Washington - Extremely unhappy customer!!!

On April 11, 2015 my husband and I purchased a 2015 Columbus 340rk from Camping World of Spokane, Wa. We had been looking for a few weeks and fell in love with this unit. We recently moved up to Spokane and were staying in our 2006 Raptor. We have decided to camp host for 4 months then travel to see our kids in Alaska before we head over to the east coast for a few months. We decided we should upgrade to a newer fifth wheel before starting on this journey. I thought we would have less stress knowing we were not in an old unit. Well were we wrong! We were scheduled to pick up the unit on a Thursday, but was called and told they had to replace the circuit board on the jacks system so we could not pick it up until Saturday. Saturday came and we were so excited. They did a walk through with us, but they never showed us the jacks working. First we hooked the door latch on the front door to move a few things in from our old trailer and it ripped right off the door. We had not even left the parking lot yet. When we checked the lights before taking off noticed one side running light was not working. They opened it and found it was not even wired. We then hooked up and headed to the RV resort we were staying at which is an hour from Camping World. When we got there and started to use the automatic jack system it kept throwing an error and not all jacks would go down nor level the trailer. We did what we could to stabilize the trailer for now. In the morning my husband got up took his shower and went out to start putting things away in the storage compartment. He then noticed it was all wet. He removed the sidewall panel and notice where it was coming from. While the outside door was open I noticed a huge gap inside along the sidewall where daylight was coming in. We called Camping Worlds right away and they wanted us to bring the unit back. I said no they needed to send someone out to check things out. We have only had it for 1 day. On Tuesday the 14th they sent Josh who was great! He found the issue from the leak which was a cracked pipe and one pipe they installed so crooked they could not glue it properly. Then he started working on the jacks. He ended up coming back the next day to continue trying to get the jacks to work. Let me mention one of the main reasons my husband liked this trailer was for the self-leveling jack system. Which has yet to work. The next morning my husband again took a shower. I noticed water flowing out under the bathroom door. Josh ended up fixing the shower leak. Which ended up being another issue from install. They cut the bottom shower door tract too short and did not caulk it. We noticed things under the bathroom sink were wet and when my husband checked the pipes were loose and leaking. After this my husband started checking all pipes under sinks and found everyone was loose. After spending another day on the jacks Josh said he thought we would have to take the unit in. We then went to pull the gray water tank to drain for the kitchen and nothing came out. The sensor said 3/4 full. My husband ended up putting a hose up the drain outside and blowing and tons of pvc cutting debris from installing came out. It had clogged the drain. When I called Camping World to see when to bring in the unit they said bring it Friday. I told them that would not work, because we are living in it and if they can’t finish the work in one day the unit would sit all weekend and we would be homeless for days. We ended up scheduling to bring it in on Monday the 20th. We then got up to drive the hour to Camping World to drop off the unit and we could not get the back jack to manually go up. My husband had to disassemble part of it to get it to go up. When doing this found pin was bent. We checked into service and were helped by another Josh who was also great. Our service list consist of: Customer work order # 5620 - Leveling system is not working, jacks do not stop, and they keep going. - -Shower drain is leaking below floor in basement storage (pipe leading to holding tank leaking). - -There is daylight showing from the floor- between ext wall and floor, - -When using the stove getting a very low flame, LP tank full and gauge is on green until stove lit then it turns red. - -Jack pin on back jack driver side bent. - -2nd battery box installed wrong - -Drawer under refrigerator does not stay closed. - -Kitchen counter top pulling away from exterior wall. - -Master bedroom window does not close right. - -Top of showing surround has huge gap. - And since we had just moved to Spokane we do not know anyone and are living in the unit we had to sit in our truck with our 2 dogs and cat for 8 hours. When we returned they informed us they could not get the jacks working yet and had not gotten to all issues. We had to take the trailer back an hour to RV resort to get up again the next day to take it back for then to try working on things again. After another 7 hours sitting in our truck they said they were talking to Forrest River and they said the unit needed to be sent back to the factory to be fixed and they would not get it done until August. I was very upset by this point. Again this is not an option as we are living in the unit. We then spoke to Jon Burke who said he got the clearance from his boss to get us unto another unit and make things right. Justin Schwalls took us out to the lot and help us find another unit. We went through everything they had on the lot and did not like any of them. We felt like we had to settle for something we really did not like. And after spending this kind of money settling is the last thing we want to have to do. . After I completely broke down into tears I said I was done and just wanted to leave at this point. Jon Burke said to go online and see if we liked any units on the Camping World website and just let him know. I got up the next day and spent over 7 hours looking up every fifth wheel out there. Still not finding anything we called Jon Burke and let him know that we either want a 2016 340RK or we liked a Grand Design Solitude 368RD with the dinette table. He said the Solitude is not an option since they don’t carry them and he would check on the 2016 340RK. They said they received a 15-page report on how they can try and fix the wall separating issue in the shop, but no one has tried to do this outside of the factory. They said it would take at least 2 days to do this and this is only 1 one the issues to fix. During this 2 plus days where are we suppose to live? So we were not excited about this. Even if they fix this one problem we still feel like this unit is a lemon. We then we got a phone call from Ken Roberts letting us know Jon Burke had to leave due to emergency with his son. And if we want the 2016 340 RK we need to pay the difference from the 2015. He then informed us that we would have to trade in our new Columbus 340RK and would get a used value price since it is technically a used unit now. So here we are sitting with our mouths on the floor. Wondering what the ***. We just gave a check to Camping World for $75,069.14 and we have only have the unit for 11 days. Since we bought this unit nothing has worked right. And now we have to pay more money to get a coach that works right. I don’t see how this is right. We feel like we are getting totally screwed. We bought a total lemon!!!! . This is our fourth Forest River fifth wheel and we have never had any of our units in service ever. But at this point we would not recommend purchasing a Forest River product. And definitely let people know not to buy anything from Camping World. Extremely unhappy customer, Kenny & Sherrie Skutley

Was this the first one you bought NEW, we are searching for a RV and these stories is causing me to reconsider, There is a Lemon law for cars, isn't there the same thing for these units, Did you contact a lawyer, I would of sued...

Camping World in Dover, Florida - The dealer went back on a contract

I have been camping for about 30 years and I have purchased over 10 RV’s in my life time. I currently own a 40 foot 2014 Dutchmen Denali 5th wheel travel trailer, my wife and I discussed buying a new class A so we starting looking at different dealers for the best deal. We ended up at Camping World RV Sales on McIntosh located in Dover Florida 33527. We meet with a salesmen by the name of Chuck Dumas, he proceeded to show me class A with a gas engine, and at the time I was going to trade in my 24ft 2015 Stingray Boat and the camper mention above. The deal seemed to be ok but I was concern over trade in values so I called my wife and she recommended that I try to sale the boat on eBay, I went home and listed the boat on eBay and I sold the boat in 3 weeks, after I paid of the loan my wife and I went back to the dealership to re-negotiate the deal. Chuck informed me that the camper we looked at 4 weeks prior was sold so he showed us other new Class A with a gas engine, my wife and I picked a camper, test drove it and went to back to the dealership to work a deal. Chuck offered us 60K for my trailer and 40K off the new coach he went on to say that he could show the dealer discount as a deposit of cash so the deal will look better to the bank, we agreed to the terms and condition that the deal wrote up, sign the contract and we called Navy Federal Credit Union to apply for a loan. After several hours the loan was approved for the final price of 70,635.23 so the check was made out for that amount. We called the salesman and explain the loan was approved and he stated that the coach was in PDI for the delivery I also ask about a mobile satellite system, he said that it will cost around 2400.00 installed so I approved the up charge. We went to the dealership for our 3pm appointment, we did a walkthrough we a stand in sales person then we went to finance department to complete our paper work and tag work. After that I went to the sales store to pay for my satellite system and a couple of other things, that bill was 2400.00 dollars, while leaving the dealership a young manager stopped me and stated that the dealer ship made a mistake and I would have to pay additional 30,000 at that point I was very made and said we had a deal any I paid my money so the problem is yours not mine. Long story short we left the camper due to the time of night it was and I will post complaints ever where I can. This place is a joke and in my opinion this is bait and switch. I will be discussing this with an attorney first thing in the morning as well as the owner of their dealership. Walter 813.997.4509

We are having the same "bait and switch" issue right now with Bill Owens at the Wood Village Oregon store! I filed a complaint with their district offices.

We feel as if they could care less whether we buy from them or not!!! There is so much more to the story...Beware of Camping World!!!

To the Management: Subj: COMPLAINT I have been RV'ing since 2008 when I retired from the US Navy with over 32 years of service. I have been a Good Sam Member off and on, and since this year we will be making many RV trips, we were going to join again to be a part of a great community. Low and behold I left Long Beach, WA after the clam festival and headed for Cliffside RV on NAS Whidbey Island. Upon lowering my landing gear on my 2008 34QRE Grand Junction, I found out that the left landing gear shear pin had failed. At the time, I new was either the pin or gear. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out, and since I was an explosive ordnance disposal technician/navy diver during my Navy days, it wasn't hard to diagnose on my own. I went to Camping World this morning to see if they could fit me in, as I wanted to get back to my reserved spot on NAS Whidbey Island. Everything went smooth as can be, the service desk charged me $38.70 for the technician to look at it and tell me what I already knew. The R&R was to be $258.00 for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours work. OK, no problem at this point. I left the RV, came back after it was ready and paid. WOW!!! this is why I am writing this COMPLAINT. Usually if a company charges to do diagnostic work it is absorbed in the total repair cost if one chooses to complete the repair. NO, not at Camping World in Burlington, WA. They charged me $38.70 to tell me in approximately one minute what I already knew. Why am I writing Good Sam this COMPLAINT? Because I was furious at the time, and I asked them to refund my membership fee and they told me they could not as they didn't have the means. "You got to be kidding me". They told me that Good Sam had bought out or merged. Is this right? Are you affiliated with a bunch of crooks? Say it's not so, because I have never had a problem with Good Sam Club, and all my friends and family have not either. If you have merged or bought out Camping World, then I would expect you would send their management to an ethics seminar or change their working/business values.

Camping World - 2015 Keystone Cougar Xlite Review from Sandy, Utah

My salesman, Dee, was great. But the service department is horrible. I purchased a 2015 Cougar x-lite travel trailer for $38,000. I paid extra for an extended warranty and something called a platinum package to coat the exterior and treating the fabrics and carpet. I asked for the carpets to be cleaned. When we took possession of the trailer none of this had been. We took our trip. The shower leaked. The water had not been turned on, it was still winterized. The awning was damaged. We called the service department and were told they were too busy to help us. We asked for a call back but they didnt call. This is not the entire list but you get the idea. Got home, made an appointment, a week and a half later, took it in on Friday. Today is Tuesday, haven't even looked at it. I told my salesman the problem and he went and got the manager, Matt Adams. He assured me everything would be taken care of. I hope their corporate offices see this.

I have a 2014 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel and the front cap has stress cracks though the entire front, 1 day over warranty and I have gotten no where. Keystone offered to pay for 1/2.

or put it though the insurance company.

HELLO WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A MANUFACTURE'S DEFECT OR HAVE MY INSURANCE PAY.

DON'T BUY KEYSTONE OR CAMPING WORLD. ATTORNEY HERE I COME................

Me and my father went into the Grain valley store to look at a few of their travel trailers that we were interested in, all they could do is talk down to us and be little us if we opened our mouths about anything terrible service the salesmans are jerks they don't even seem like they even want to sell any trailers at all, all they could keep saying was how many trailers they have sold in the past month and how many they sold at the last big show. no one wants to hear how many trailers you have sold..... anyway I will take my business out to olathe ford rv they are much nicer out their and they don't talk their company up like these jerks at camping world did.

You could always head over to Lifestyle RVs in Grain Valley. They are a top 50 dealer and treated us really well.

We've referred at least 6 people to them that have all had great experiences. The sales staff is phenomenal.

The owner is top notch and was there on site when we went in to buy our camper.
