Camping World in Syracuse, New York - Suggest you find another dealer to do business with

1.0
Details
Have to say the worst experience we have ever had, Over a week no deal, they have to be the rudest and stupidest people to try and do business with. If you are not willing to be ripped off to the max then run as far from this place as possible. They are to lazy to get off their butts to wait on you and they make you feel like a low life when in deed they probly are in a rent a suit, Several people I know have had the same experience and I wish I would of listened and went else where as it was a big waste of 10 Days. Lesson learned when you read very bad reviews on a place don't waste your time going there as it's more then likely true. You all make New York look very bad so do us all a favor and put your rent a suits in storage and leave New York cause your all a bunch of lazy dumb ***.

Camping World - Manager Review from Henderson, Nevada

1.0
Details
I consigned my 5th wheel with camping world. The consignment manager Jack Carstens told me my trailer was worth 17 to 18 thousand. He said he could get me 14500. I agreed. Then he put it up for sale for 24995. When I asked about the huge increase in price he said he has to leave room for the trade in. He asked, you don't want the trade do you? Of course not. You will resale the trade. Probably for a nice profit. Do you think I'm a complete ***? I feel like Camping World and Jack are trying to screw me. I'm picking up my trailer this afternoon and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Camping World - Recreational Vehicle Review from Kearney, Missouri

We purchased a 5th Wheel from Camping World a month ago. One of the worst experience of our lives. Went to go pick it up, and wasn't clean as they told us it would be. During the walk through, show us how everything worked. The guy didn't have a clue. They tried to reap us off on a 5th Hitch, and had to go through a big mess. Might have been taken advantage of that. We're happy with the 5th wheel, just wish I could have bought it from someone else.

We had similar situation at CW Gulf Breeze,Florida. They tried to bait and switch by sending the credit union a different buyers order with less options but the same price.

They finally reduced the price for the option they were charging -as if they were giving me something. Brittney said our hitch wouldn't work before even trying- long story short it worked. I should have walked and left them with the camper but I didn't have time or energy to go negotiate somewhere else.

And Detailing???

Lol. They only run through a wash and mop the floor.

Finding somewhere else for service. Wish I knew now what I didn't know.

Camping World has terrible customer service

3.0
Details
Never, ever do business with this worthless company. The don't care about customers and could care less if you're offended. They advertise a sale then only stock one or two items that run out. Then they try to up sell you into a non-sale item. If you ask for a rain-check, they'll give you on then don't honor it. This tactic is called "bait and switch" and is against the law. They still didn't care one bit. Most of what they sell can be found on Amazon.com at a lower price, with free shipping and no tax, anyway. Save yourself the trouble and aggravation and shop elsewhere.

Camping World in Woodstock, Georgia - Awful, terrible, horrible after sale customer service!!!

1.0
Details
Purchased a camper on April 1st, 2015. Temporary tag expires today - May 15th, 2015, and these guys still don't have the registration done with the DMV where we can get a tag. This means that we either have to *** work and go to the tag office to get the temporary tag extended (shouldn't camping world be doing that?) or we have a camper that we cannot legally use until they get off their duffs and decide to do something!!! We've made numerous calls and filed a formal complaint via their disputes process. No one responds. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. Would not buy from them again!!!

Camping World - Camper Review from Gilbert, Iowa

Purchased a new camper, pulled it home was going to stock it and prepare for our first trip. The slide would not open. I call with disgust and they said to call a local dealer in my area. Yea try asking a dealer you didn't buy a unit from to service it. Took a day off of work and drove 4 hours round trip to drop it off. I went to give them the keys and they said they had master keys to get in. Two days later I get a call that they need the keys because the dead bolt was locked. 25 dollars later they received them via Fed-Ex. Three weeks later still haven't got parts ordered. Quite a joke this has become. Five hundred dollars lost due to gas, postage and loss of wages to return unit and no one is apologetic. If you go to Camping World of Cedar Falls, you have been warned.

Camping World - Sink Cover Review from Dayton, Ohio
Camping World - Sink Cover Review from Dayton, Ohio
Purchased online a $20 sink cover for my RV from Camping World. The sink cover showed up and was a piece of junk. The edges were sharp and not strait at all. I could of had a 3rd grader cut a better line than that. It was just unacceptable junk. The company would not return it because they said that it "wasn't damaged" but that "I just didn't like the product". After talking to several people on the phone, a "manager" had me email her pictures. Two days later and I still haven't heard back from her. What a joke of a company. If they wouldn't take care of a customer over a $20 sink cover, how could they take care of someone buying a couple thousand dollar RV? I'll never buy from then again!!

Camping World in Cincinnati, Ohio - Forest River Cardinal fresh water tank fell off

1.0
Details
I purchased a New Cardinal by forest river at camping world. They said it was the best model and would last a long time. I filled the fresh water tank and went on a trip from florida to ohio after crossing into ohio i heard something that sounded like tire popping looked out my mirrors and saw no smoke or anything so I figured it might of been the road or something well another 40 miles down the road I stopped for fuel and noticed my bottom trailer skirt ripped and dragging on the ground under further inspection I found that my fresh water tank was completely gone, just some wires and hoses that went into the tank remained so I'm not sure If someone hit the tank or not. I have called 5 dealers and everyone has given me the run around talking about 1 month to even look at it while im stranded in ohio with a trailer that has things such as 75 gallon water tanks falling off. At about 8 pounds per gallon that makes it a 600 lbs brick falling off the trailer I hope no one was killed. Forest River needs to take action to not risk lives over not putting in a couple more screws. On another note one of the camping world dealers told me that one do this a month ago, so its not that uncommon.

Camping World - Trailer Trade In Review from Kissimmee, Florida

While camping in Kissimmee, FL, my family and I decided to go to Camping World and possibly trade our 2012 travel trailer. We finally were helped by Pedro Vazquez, after I hunted someone down. He asked which ones I wanted to look at, I had already explained what I was interested in and we had been walking the lot but could not see the inside so, that's the reason we needed his assistance, he said we have X amount of trailers on his lot and it's hot outside, we get to the lot, he showes us a couple then made it known he was ready to move on to another couple (they were older and looking at a travel RV) he seen $$ signs and dumped us because he did not think we could afford anything was my guess, if we would have gotten good customer service and found what we liked we would have traded in today. We were very disappointed with the service and will be going somewhere else.

Camping World in Summerfield, Florida - $8 refund $20 item, Is that ok?

Sorry for typos.

Original review posted by user May 12, 2015

Yesterday I wanted a cord. Lowes had them cheaper, but I have a camping world card..supposed to get a discount. First all the discount is a joke . All the prices posted at the store (I think) are with the discount already. Anyway I found the cord/connector online cheaper, called camping world and they said if I printed out the price they would honor it (and gave me a name of a person to ask for. I saw some stuff on clearance, bought it. I was expecting a 10% dioscopunt or something. NOPE. Then I spied a roller carry bag at the front of the store that said the dimensions were 37 inches. I bought it for $20. Got it home and it was 35 inched and my 36 inch cot will not fit. Wont zip closed. I knew the dimension of the cot. This wasnt something I needed. Took it back today or tried too. They would not take it back. Then they agreed but ONLY offered to refund me eight dollars for the tenty dollar carry bag...and asked if that was ok. IN WHAT UNIVERSE or ON WHAT planet would giving a person eight dollars on a $20 item be ok? If the bags were bigger I would have bought two. Now I am stuck with something I dont want....well I guess I find a use. I just wanted a bag for a tent. I resent camping world and its confusing pricing, pathetic return policy and return scam. TRUST me If I can buy a product anywhere else I will. I like supporting local businesses...but not when they scam you. I will be posting this all over the web.

Issue is NOT resolved. 1) I mentioned it at Camping World on Facebook.

They said they were going to fix it right away. Asked for my contact info..and NEVER called. 2) They said they would help with the return. We were WAY past the return.

I ALREADY tried to return the item. I DROVE to the store, stood in line etc. Tried to return TWICE with TWO people. INSANITY is doing the same thing and expecting different results.

3) I started a FACEBOOK group called camping world sucks. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CWSux/

Is it possible that you used a coupon at time of purchase? Most stores will only refund the actual amount you paid after using coupon. Makes sense to me.

@Anonymous

No I did not use a coupon. HECK OF A LOT MORE COMPLEX TRANSACTION THAN THAT.

#1 Local store decided NO refunds despite corporate advertising..and #2) The COMPANY decided on a predetermined return amount for credit card use. Bottome Line" Returns are Neither FREE nor EASY nor Honored for 90 days. The credit card they just sold me on offered an EXTRA 30 day return extension. The take away is: these are folks with no scruples...watch your wallet and the T&Cs (terms and conditions).

Watch for hand written posted sign that says no refunds. TRake one hour at the checkout line so you can read through your receipt caveat emptors. Add extra time. Bring a certified fraud examiner and an experienced auditor with you...Oh wait..that's me.

HONESTLY...I really dont want to do business where I have to be THAT CAREFUL. It was an impulse buy for a carrybag. CAMPING WORLD ADVERTISES A PROMISE....free and easy returns. They refused a return 24 hours later....HAD nothing to do with COUPON they refused to take THE ITEM BACK.

refused. Even though they were selling an identical item. Even though they advertise free and easy returns and they gave me a credit card the day before that they said gave you an extra 30 days to return. The entire store is full of prices they don't HONOR..unless you are a member.

It is a heck of a lot more complicated than a coupon. Have you ever shopped at Camping World?
