Deceitful sales tactics. Lying about work orders that would be completed Mission statement is a company fantasy. CEO does not respond to complaints but says "100% customer satisfaction is my goal" Service Department grossly overcharges for service. Do not purchase the extended warranty. Camping World in South Elgin, Illinois - Bad Service, responsiveness and warranty support!

I purchased a Thor motorcoach on May 29th from your team and it has turned out to be one of the worst purchasing decisions of my life. I truly regret my decision. We took one trip after buying the RV and: Found ourselves and our dog trapped in the unit due to a malfunctioning dead bolt lock on the door. Escaping through the emergency exit window in the back would have been dangerous. After disappointing and frustration attempts for support on an early Friday evening from your service team and the road side assistance we purchased as part of the sale I finally had to disassemble the door latch from the inside. Including drilling out rivets so we could escape. I was able to reassemble the latch but not the lock. We spent the weekend in the RV without the security of a locked door. Combine that with a bedroom slide window that was stuck open and would not close, a problem with the fan on the AC unit, a bathroom door that would not stay closed during transit, a blown fuse in one of the TVs, a radio unable to receive radio stations and a fresh water hose purchased at your store that leaked terrible, ultimately falling apart in my hands and you can imagine the disappointment and frustration. I'd like to say that we took a second trip and had a better experience but the RV has sat at Camping World in Wauconda for the last 2 weeks waiting on warranty service and we've been told approval from Thor may take as long as a month, if they approve the repairs at all. by the way, not a helpful or friendly staff in the service department in Wauconda. They seem quite bothered every time we call after hearing no update. We'd like to go camping again! That's why we bought it. I earn my living in the service business and expect my team to provide service that is of such high quality that our customers would be afraid to go anywhere else. I'd be embarrassed to receive this email. I expected better,

Camping World in Yuba City, California - Do not go to Camper world unless you want problems

I was looking for a small motorhome 24' when I found a Travago on the internet at Camper world I ask the salesman and he said he found a new one in Fresno and could get it here in 1 or 2 days. This was 5-16-15. It finally got here 5-29-15 from somewhere. they told me fresno the somewhere down south the I heard it came from Bakersfied no one seem to know as they are all managers out there. When it got here the screen door was broke and they said they would order me a new one. that took 2 weeks. I had the van 1 week and took it back as the lock will not work, that was 5-15-15. I was suppose to leave on the 1st for vacation they said it would be ready5-26-15. down to where it was being fixed thank heaves not them and they said they just brought it in on6-24-15 at 4pm and told them there was recalls on it also so it would be 1-2 weeks before it was ready. needless to say I will be home for the 4th of July. I wish they had this van where the sun doesn't shine . By the way the van is great just not from them if A ever get it baCk. DO NOT GO TO CAMPING WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!

Camping World in Baraboo, Wisconsin - 6 weeks 19 emails and still no awning

Our entire awning was torn off by the wind while driving on Mother's Day week. We have used Camping World for many years, mostly in-store purchases, but have had service work done there as well. We prepaid for a new awning and 19 emails full of lies later, still no awning. 6 weeks , two cancelled camping trips due to no awning. We went across the street to Wisconsin RV World and had a new awning complete with installation in 5 days. We are so done with Camping World, Deforest, WI. We were President's Club members for many many years as well.

Our Sales person Brook was wonderful! The Store staff were helpful and 2 of the gentlemen in the service were helpful. Now to the rest of them. Our appointment was at 1:00 and Jennifer knew we were there and never once thought to ask us the reason we were waiting. After 2 hours we finally told her that we were going to go outside and she said well I was ready at 1:00, I was waiting for you to do your final walk thru (Which NEVER happen) So we processed to do the paperwork and they final pull trailer around and this RUDE person that all I seen him do for the last 3 hours was drive around on a golf cart!!! Came in and said "Thumma- AS IS" and i replied, yes why do you ask? and he turnaround and left!!! The management never said a word to us the entire 4 hours we were there!!! As for the "AS IS" comment, we were well aware of the what it means, but all customers should be treated the same doesn't matter if you are spending 8,000 or 50,000. It would be more likely that the 8000. customer would be returning sooner that the 50,000. I which I had more time to go into more details...because there is alot! But the most horrible things that happen was the Service dept was willing to let us leave without a battery cover and under 10.00 item! and when we finally got home to find out that they NEVER tighten the tow package they installed!!! THIS WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!! Undercover Boss you are so needed at Camping World all over the US. And for Corporate...I gave you a chance to reply to me and you have not and in my last email I said if I did not get any satisfaction, I would find anyplace I could to let other know BEWARE OF GRUMBINE'S

Camping World in Denver, Colorado - Poor, unacceptable customer service

Inept. The camping World in Golden Colorado is so mismanaged no wonder the service is so poor...to make a long story short we ,purchased our 5th wheel May 12 and still are waiting for our hitch. They have graciously let us use a rusty used one. In addition, my husband went to register the coach and the DMV had no recorrd of the sale. Joan at Camping World said they are still working on April's sales and because the coach originally on another lot and that lot has to send the paperwork to her. She also said once the paperwork is sent in to the state it could take two weeks or so. Now all of this sucks but we have a planned trip with a specific date to meet family in Florida. People have bought airline tickets, etc. Never in my dreams could i have imagined such incompetence and i have never been so angry. I know now from reading so many negative reviews I'm not going to sever our relationship after this situation is solved.

Camping World in Spartanburg, South Carolina - Crooks, fraud, BEWARE

My Aunt and Uncle bought a brand new camper to put at our boat club on Lake Wateree. upon showing us the paperwork she realized that they charged her ufor the 2,500 extended warranty without any paperwork explaining what the warranty covered. she called to cancel the warranty and get a refund and the person tried to pressure her to keep it. My aunt asked her to fax the paperwork to the bank so that it could be deducted from her loan and the finance person at camping world told her that she would do it when she got ready and she was out for vacation the next week. I heard the conversation on speaker phone and I was appalled at the way she spoke with my aunt. They charged her over 200.00 for a spare tire that was not even on the camper. This has been a nightmare for what should have been a pleasant experience. They Do Not care about the customer.

Do not buy a RV from Camping World, especially Tom Johnson Camping World. The Elite membership for service was terrible. The mechanic who worked on our trailer was negligent, did a terrible job, and endangered our lives by putting the hitch together wrong. We bought a new trailer, 5 months old and discovered it had Rust and Corrosion under the carriage. The manager of the store never answered one of our questions or provided us any forms we requested. There is so much more... do not buy an RV from Camping World. We have bought 3 RV's from Mom and Pop places and we never had the problems we have had with Camping World.

I bought a new 2015 Jay Flight 29RKS from Camping World in Kingston, NY this year. Michael Lenhann the service department manager needs to be trained on how to run the service department correctly. WHAT A JOKE. All i can say, its a three ring circus. I purchased the camper on 04/30/15 and needed warranty work done so I brought it back on 05/11/15 and sat there for a week and never worked on. So when i picked up my camper Michael had the nerve to ask me how many tlmes are you going to use it this year. Maybe you can leave it here and will get to it when we can. Camping World also adds on the bill of sale a 399.99 prep fee which includes going over the camper and cleaning it. None of that was done because I had to spend four hours cleaning the unit. It is now 06/26/15 and the warranty work is still not completed. I brought it to Dr RV in Blomingburg, NY which is a closer drive than Kingston. ALL I CAN SAY STAY AWAY FROM CAMPING WORLD OF KINGSTON NY. SHAME ON MICHAEL LENHANN.

Camping World in Lancaster, New York - Hamburg store the worst

Tried to buy a travel trailer and could not get a simple price for my trade and the new unit.Recieved a "form" email from the CEO and recieved a hostle call from the sales manager. So I Bought else where. The sales staff at this location are the worst ever. I recently placed an order on the web site and the same old thing. After sitting on hold for customer service the system dropped my call. I called back and waited another 10 minutes listening to the worst on hold "music" i was told that my order would ship that day. Still no shipping email. DON'T Do business with them unles you like agrivation
