Camping World Chicago **DO NOT BUY FROM THEM***

I purchased a brand new camper from Camping World-Chicago. On our "walk through" where they were showing us how everything works the tech told us that this unit did not come with an in line water filter (even though the manufacturer supplied the camper with a filter cartridge and filter wrench). His exact words were, "they just throw these items in all campers". After I got the unit home the idea that they "throw them in all campers" did not sit well with me so I did some investigating.................and guess what????? I found the filter housing by the water heater. Why would they have someone showing me how to use my new camper who didn't know much about the unit???? Next, on our first trip out we discovered that the propane grill, that came with the camper, was not usable. The hose that comes out of the side of the camper was not long enough to attach to the grill. So much for a nice steak dinner on our first trip......... When I returned from my trip I sent my salesman (Jim Wheeler) an e-mail describing the problems listed above. To this day (over one month later) he has never contacted me. I guess since he has been paid his commission he does not care about me anymore. Next, I contacted Camping World (corporate) via e-mail through their website. They replied to my e-mail saying, "someone will be in contact with you within 24 hours". Again, to this day nobody has ever contacted me. Lastly, I called Camping World Chicago and spoke to the sales manager and he told me that my salesman would get back to me. Guess what????? He never did!!!! This is the worst case of poor customer service I have ever encountered. *** PLEASE *** FOR YOUR OWN GOOD **** DO NOT BUY FROM THEM ***

Had the exact same issue with Camping World in Edmond Oklahoma with a 2015 Jayco Greyhawk. Dealer wanted install a filter for $200.

Found the filter myself behind a screwed in panel in storage compartment.

Very bad design for a item that has to be changed frequently. RV has been in the shop for 3 weeks to be looked at for the short gas hose.

I bought a new/used motor home from camping world.my wife and I were so excited.we went on a short 100 mile over nite.we got to camp ground and hooked up,we were flooded with in minutes.Water in an RV,not a pool.The a/c took 8 hours to cool off the inside of coach.after we ran around we had a good nite sleep but in the morning the a/c stopped working so we headed home.they took it in and kept if for a week.i got it back,hooked it up to my water to check the leak.I was so happy they fixed the leak,my happiness was short lived when I sprayed the shower I walked into a small stream in the kitchen area.i was told one thing then another buy this guy and that guy.They should have classes so they know what the F they are doing.Never again and I have consulted an attorney. Go figure

Camping World in Cleveland, Ohio - Nonexistant Customer Service

I ordered a folding ladder in June of 2015. After waiting 2 weeks, I e-mailed Camping World about the status of the order. After 1 week I still had not received a response. Finally an automated response began to appear on a daily basis in my e-mail telling me the ladder was back ordered, but no information on when it would be available. I attempted to call the "customer service" number on multiple occasions, but never got through to a rep after waiting in excess of 1/2 an hour each time, It has now been 7 weeks and no product. Buyer beware.

Camping World in Wallingford, Connecticut - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I placed an order for a camping chair for an upcoming trip. After I checked out I was THEN told that it could take 14 days to receive my chair. I emailed them and asked to expedite the shipping as I needed it in a week and I was not given any shipping options at checkout. I received an email back stating that they don't have any other shipping options. I told them that I needed it for a specific date and that I was disappointed in the fact that I was not made aware of the long shipping times BEFORE I paid for the item. I then got a cheesey automated reply thanking me for letting them know that I was unhappy. I replied again and got the same automated response. I decided to cancel my order and purchase the item with another company. I was told that my order had been cancelled and that my card would NOT be charged, but now TWO days later there is a charge on my card. I contacted them and showed them the proof that I was told my card would NOT be charged. The answer I got was that it would take 5-7 business days to refund it. This company and its Customer Service are HORRIBLE!! I have never experienced such incompetence. Stay away from them!

Camping World - Warranty Nightmare CW Eugene Oregon

This has not been a pleasant experience. I purchased a brand new trailer from Camping World of Eugene. I have now owned it for 11 months. It has been at Camping World for over 5 of those 11. The first trip for small warranty repairs took 3 months. It took me weeks just to have somebody call me back. Eventually they stated all of the items were taken care of. When I picked it up, there were items still disassembled. Very few things were completed, and what they did fix looked worse. I used the unit and took it back while it still had warranty. It has now been there almost 2 months. The work still is not done. The service manager Ken Flippen (sp?) promised a call back that never happened.

Yep!

These guys are owned by the dealer just up Hwy 99. They also suck as far as taking care of any issues that they say they will.

After purchasing a tent trailer that had a leaking roof that they did not fix, the next tent trailer I purchased from a different dealer just down the road.

To make a long story short, I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS IN OR NEAR JUNCTION CITY!!!

Camping World Rv Parts Review from Lindenhurst, Illinois

People need to realize that RV's are a totaly different breed compared to cars. In a car dealership different models may take the same part and so dealerships carry many of the same part on hand. In RV parts two identical units will have different parts. The wiring could be run different depending on who wired it! It is on average a of a week to have your RV down. Better hope you dont have an accident because I have seen up to 5 weeks just to get a compartment door!! Your best bet is to watch over your unit and when you notice something odd is to get in to your dealer, have the tech look over your RV and get the parts ordered and bring it back in ad soon as the parts are in so you are down for a minimum amount if time. Also take care of your RV and do the annual maintenance so you dint have major breakdowns.

We cancelled an order the same day of purchase, sent email canceling, received confirmation email was received, 3 days later amount was taken off bank statement. 8 days later our account was overdrawn because CW re-charged our account without notifying us and reactivated our original order. $1307 was involved so we didn't have money for the week end and still don't. GW said they credited but we still don't have our money. Their on line ordering is backlog logged 8000 emails and they didn't get to our order for 11 days, so they didn't read our cancellation notice and charged us again, 11 days later, then they said it was our fault for not waiting for their cancellation conformation!? HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT? They basically stole our money out of our account without notifying us, what thief would?

$50 for the inconvenienc you caused me, are you kidding, Just the cost of hanging on the phone with their incompetent CS was that. I make $275 a day times 2 days is $550! the ONLY way for a company to improve is to hit their bottom line ADMIT FAULT !!!!

Camping World in Knoxville, Tennessee - Nothing fixed on my motor home.

on 5-29-2015 i took our damon motor home in for service to have the relay switch fixed, dash air to be fixed, and satelite to be fixed, today is 7-20-2015, patric pneuenschwander called on 6-15-2015 said motor was ready to be picked up, went to pick it up nothing was fixed, and today they still have my satelite dish traveler.i have been lied to so many times that i can't remember. the general said he would get this took care of, guess what he lied to. would like to know where my dish satelite is, and when some one will tell me the truth. thanks charles gibson.

BUYER BEWARE!! Very unprofessional, do not communicate, lie, steal, and service apparently knows nothing about campers! We bought a camper & it leaked within 2 days of having it. Tried to return it. They had it for 2 weeks and did nothing they said they would. Said it has no leak tested & checked everything! Smells so bad of mildew & probably mold has made me physically ill. They put a dehumidifier in for awhile to get dampness out?? Dampness - no leak?? Brought home under protest, planned to have tested independently - it leaked the day after we picked it up. Unfortunately have to bring back. Already have missed 2 planned trips & have another planned. Hopefully they will fix it and we will get it back on time for next planned trip! Trying to help others avoid a camper purchase (big purchase) nightmare!! Go somewhere else that is reputable & save yourself huge headaches, aggravation, and loads of wasted time!!

Camping World in Revere, Massachusetts - Can't get the items I paid for.

I ordered on June 2, 2015 $170 worth of products and I have yet to receive three items. I was charged for everything up-front even though there was a back order worth $108.99. I have sent two e-mails but can't get any reply telling me anything. Also, when we attempted to get info of the status of our items, we could not do so because we placed the order directly with one of Camping World's Representatives. That does not make any sense. Anyone should be able to get information on their order regardless of how the order was placed.
