Camping World in Chattanooga, Tennessee - Zero Results from Service Department

1.0
Details
Took my KZ Sportsman 37' 5th wheel camper in a month ago for some repairs. So far I've received zero communication from them. I drove up twice to check on their "progress" and both times my camper was still sitting in the same exact spot I parked it in when I dropped it off. Every time I want to find out something I either have to call them or drive 1.5 hours roundtrip to check on the repair progress. I finally talked to the assistant service manager today and she just kept talking over me. When I finally was able to talk I explained the situation but still not sure she understands my issues. I called Camping World corporate office and filed a complaint. I'm also filing a complaint with the Tennessee Better Business Bureau. My advice is to find another shop if you need RV or camper servie - these guys could care less about communicating or fixing an RV.

Camping World - 2015 Heartland Toyhauler in the shop since it was purchased 9 months ago

To Whom it May Concern: Around mid October of this year my husband and I stopped off at Gander Mountain in Dothan, AL because Camping World was having a big sale there. We didn't plan to buy at that time because we were waiting another 2 years to prepare for my husbands retirement. While looking we came across the 2015 Heartland HD Toyhauler, and we really liked it. Over the next 2 weeks the sales department called us several times, each time with a better offer. On October 31, 2015 I went to Camping World in Dothan, AL to pick up a cooler I had won in a drawing. While there, Dave, the Sales Manager, gave us another offer, one we did not feel we could refuse. He said that they had to sell 3 of these units a month to meet their quota and ours was the 3rd... and it was the 31st, so he was able to make us, what we thought at the time was, a great offer. What we thought was to be the first steps toward retirement and our dreams, very quickly turned into a nightmare. When we went to pick it up, the service man who did the walk through with us was in no way familiar with our unit. By the time we left there we were more confused than when we got there. We didn't know where to start, so we read the Heartland book, which wasn't much help. The camper was never prepped or in working order from delivery and has NEVER been fully repaired. In NINE MONTHS. Our first trip out with the camper was awful. To our surprise, our brand new camper had no heat. We spent most of the weekend bundled up in blankets, and while the fireplace is a nice focal point, it is certainly not there to provide heat. While we were there we began making a list of things that needed to be fixed, so, when we got home, we took the list and our camper back to Camping World. And, yes, everything was covered under warranty, which is awesome, but not the issue. The issue is, that we dropped our camper off for repairs in November and did not get it back until February. And by get it back, I mean, we had to borrow it from the service department of Camping World because it had not been fixed yet. When we picked it up for our 2nd trip camping in our new camper, we noticed it had been scratched in several places. And the repairs were not completed. So, when we returned, we took it back to the shop. Our 3rd (and as of the date of this email our last trip, as the camper has been in the shop since then) trip was May 23-27, We had owned our Heartland HD Toyhauler for 9 months, but had been unable to enjoy our purchase because it had spent the majority of that time in the shop. So, you can imagine our shock and surprise when, after this trip, it had to go back to the service department. There were several things wrong, many of which had never been repaired from the initial trip to the service department in November, such as, trim at the bottom of the door, lights above the outside tv, straps that hold table legs in closet, leg under couch in the back not touching the floor, recliners not mounted and two do not work at all, after the recliners were "fixed" I sat down in one and was thrown out to the floor, because they were, not, in fact fixed at all, although we were told they had been. The living room heater only works with the bedroom thermostat on. The new items that were added when we took it to be serviced in May are: Slide out doesn't go all the way in on one side, air conditioner in bedroom not working, awning bent during storm, we were told they didn't have to be rolled in because they are self adjusting. The storage door was open when we let the slide out in. It clipped the handle of the storage door, broke the handle off the door and bent the trim at the bottom and side of the slide out. We were told the storage doors do NOT stay in the top position, that they lower themselves. The storage door on the other side is warped. The fifth wheel hitch that Camping World installed, was not greased. We had to call Camping World and someone came out to help release it from our truck because it was not installed properly. That should have been our first clue. Unfourtunatley for us, we believe in second chances. Your company has had several more than that to make this right. The simplest thing to do would be to pull our file and read it. If we had to do this all over again, we would not only never purchase a Heartland, we would not do business with Camping World. Not only will we never do business with Camping World again, but we will tell anyone we know that is in the market for an RV/Camper etc, our story and to avoid Camping World at all costs. While the Sales department was ok, the service department is a horrible joke. While I understand the fault may not lie with those receiving this email, it also does not lie with me. The sales date on my paperwork is October 31, 2014. Which means that I have owned and paid for this camper for 9 months and it has been in the shop for almost all of those 9 months. In June of this year, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer that has metastasized to his lungs. He is under a tremendous amount of stress after this diagnosis, and he doesn't even have the option of traveling in his camper while he still has his good health. What needs to happen at this point is this; you buy back the camper, reimburse us the payments that we have made, and return our camper (that we traded in), or something comparable to us. At this point, there is no other option. The added stress of worrying about our BRAND NEW camper being travel worthy, is NOT something we will continue to do. And we will not allow the remaining time he has in good health to be riddled with worry over our BRAND NEW camper, that is sitting at Camping World, where it has remained almost exclusively since we bought it. As the camper has not left the lot for longer than a couple of weeks since we purchased it, and as we have held up our end of the agreement ie. making payments on time, we feel that the only fair and responsible thing to do would be for you to do what we have asked and make this right. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. We look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Camping World in Grain Valley, Missouri - Constant issues/excuses from service department

1.8
Details
Camping World in Kansas City, MO (Grain Valley) is terrible. We bought a camper May 1, 2015 and still waiting for their service department to fix issues that were supposedly fixed when walk-through completed. We continue to hear excuses as to why the parts have not come in from the manufacturer. We made a 5 hour roundtrip (we paid for gas and tolls) to their location to fix the issues. When arrived, service department said they did not have the parts they told us they had just 2 hours earlier. If I could abandon the camper on their doorstep, I would. Do not do business with this company. We learned a little too late that there are nationwide complaints about camping world!!!!!!!!!!!

Camping World Camper Service Department Review from Goose Creek, South Carolina

I took my camper to Camping World to have Vent covers put on. Then 3 weeks later still sitting on their lot and they hit my camper moving another camper. They said they will fix the damage but it will take 2 weeks to get the parts then who knows how long it will take them to fix it. Their service department does not believe in timely service. I am worried about it not being fixed correctly. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Took my Jayco Hybrid Travel Trailer to Camping World

4.0
Details
Both front and rear beds have leaked when it rained. They said they took pictures and sent them to Jayco. Jayco has a 2 year warrenty on the unit. So far I haven't heard from either place. When I picked the unit up the service manager told me not to get it wet, I asked him how to do that in Florida in the summer. I got no reply. I purchased the unit in June 2015. Camping World had it 2 weeks in June and 2 weeks in July and I still am not satisfied with them or Jayco. Will writing this get me any satisfaction.

Have you contacted Jayco? Find out if they've even received any photos.

In many cases the manufacturer will expedite repairs just to avoid the customer bringing it back to them.

Camping World in Odessa, Texas - Stated in stock when ordered, but then on follow up call told on back order

Details
i purchased a $1400 mattress and it showed in stock. i emailed to ask why it hadnt shipped and was told it was on backorder. i asked why wasnt i notified of this, i wouldnt have bought it if it stated it was on backorder. i then went to the website and copy pasted the info showing they were even currently showing it in stock. the reply was, "I understand it is now showing in stock, availability changes as we receive items back into the warehouse. This is actually good news, if it now available your order will ship shortly." a week later it still hasnt shipped so they lied stating it was in stock to begin with, continued to deceive others when they knew it wasnt in stock, and lied saying it was in stock again. first and last order with this company.

Camping World in Albuquerque, New Mexico - Not the A/C unit we wanted

Took our 2009 Heartland North Country into the Albuquerque, NM Camping World. We did not buy it there but thought that because they are all over the country, this would be the way to go. NOT. They quoted us a price and when I asked if they could find a way to lower the cost (such as a smaller BTU unit) they said they'd get back to us. They called my husband and quoted another price - a little over $100 less. We just decided to go with it. When we went to pick up the trailer, the "service advisor" didn't know anything. I asked for the name of the brand of the A/C and the BTU's. He had to look it up on the computer. Then we asked for an owners manual for the A/C. He didn't know about that either. To pay, we had to walk a short distance to an empty office. I am disabled and there is no where to sit - not in the office or in the Service area. The worker could have ran my credit card and bring me the receipt to sign - it seemed so pointless to walk over there to pay. The invoice has no info on it except AC unit and labor. No model #, nothing. Then, when I went in the trailer to look at the AC cover on the ceiling, there was debris all over the floor, kitchen counter and table. They did not clean up after themselves. When we got home, we decided to turn on the AC to see how it worked - the old AC had leaked coolant and it never got cold inside. Well, the BEST part - they put in a duct-less AC when we HAD a ducted AC previously AND now the 9 ducts are useless. Besides the fact that wouldn't you replace an AC unit with whatever was in there previously??? So pissed off. The back bedroom will never get cool now. Ripped off.

Camping World in Dover, Florida - Very Poor Service

1.5
Details
July 31, 2015 In May 2014, my husband, Bobby Williams and I purchased a 2014 Keystone Outback 316RL, brand new from Camping World 4871 McIntosh Rd in Dover. It has spent over half of the time we have owned it in the shop. We have not been able to use it, but are still making payments on it It has been in the shop at Camping World 3 times, the first to make repairs to the motors for the slideouts. The second for minor repairs and to tighten the cables on the slideouts, for a total of 4 months This time the trailer was put in the shop because the slideout shifted and caused damage to the roof and caused the frame to flex when the slideout was extended and retracted. We took the trailer in for repairs Dec 5, 2014. In Jan 2015 we were told the repairs had been completed and went to look at the trailer. The repairs were not only not completed, they hadn't been started. Our trailer had been backed into another RV by staff at Camping World causing damage which has since been repaired. We were told in June that the repairs were finished and it was ready to be picked up. My husband went to Camping World and discovered that some of the trim was missing and out trailer had been cleaned. While cleaning, all of our possessions had been removed and thrown away and the tag was missing, the tag has been replaced. Unfortunately the trim is no longer available from the manufacturer. We are still waiting for the trim to be replaced and our trailer to be completed. Our trailer was brand new. We have only been able to use it 3 times between May 2014 and December 2014 . We have contacted Keystone, but have gotten no resolution. We have contacted Camping World's CEO, no help there either. I hope you can help us.Sincerely,Laura Williams Auburndale, FL 33823

Camping World in Alabaster, Alabama - Campingworld - a bunch of fools BAD SERVICE

Camping World - Campingworld - a bunch of fools BAD SERVICE
While I had my camper at Campingworld in Caleria Alabama for warranty repairs some clown hit it with another trailer. They never called or told me about it so someone didn't report it (let me look shocked about that!) I found it out when I went to talk to them on how the warranty work was progressing. Needless to say I went ballistic! I was probably ruder than I needed to be be but I have been waiting on them to work with ForrestRiver on another issue for 3 weeks and they have not moved at all. I finally got their GM to assist me yesterday but I had to go search him down as the rest of the monkeys there were too *** to understand what "go get your GM NOW" means. But what do you want from a bunch of minimum wage workers who have to do customer service every day.
