Camping World - Warranty Review from Youngsville, North Carolina

2.0
Details
Cancelled extended warranty and waited 5 weeks for follow up from CW OF RALEIGH. Took 2 days of leaving messages for Chris smith to call me before I finally got in touch with him. He denied being notified by Good SAMs 5 weeks ago but immediately was able to validate my cancelation. Then had the nerve to tell me I would have to wait another 5 weeks for my refund to be processed. I accused his department of dropping the ball and not processing the claim as it was submitted to him by Good SAMs for cancelation 5 weeks ago. All I wanted was my refund nothing else. He was not offering any option but to wait for my 2k dollar refund

Camping World Staff Review from New Braunfels, Texas

Extremely poor treatment of wholesale customers, I understand that we are not the majority of your customers but we make constant purchases from your NB#1 store and every single time we go in there the cashier has absolutely no idea what is going on and no matter how many times they are shown how to do tax exempt they always forget and it's a *** of employees saying "well that's not my responsibility" and passing the buck off to someone else.

Camping World in Valencia, California - Horrible service

I delivered my RV for my agreed upon appointment on 5/19/15. I had leakey a air bag and wore out king pins. All were covered by extended warranty. The repairs were promised to be complete by 6/1/15. I received a call on 5/19 from the tech asking me what the problem was. I told him to refer to the work order. After waiting patiently for two months, I called 7/20/15 to inquirer about what was going on. The service writer told me that the work order was at the techs station and he would call me 7/21 by 1:30 p.m.. I did not receive a call. 7/23 I emailed CW corporate about my complaints and concerns and the next day I received a call from Kevin Hicks the service manager. He told me that he would take care of everything and since I was out of town the next week I should call him when I got back into town. I phoned him on 8/3,8/5,8/6,8/7. I finally emailed him and CW corporate 8/7 expressing my anger and concerns. On 8/11 i received a phone call in the late afternoon stating that my RV was ready after 95 days. After promising it to me after 14 days. 95 Days.On 8/12 I went to pick up my RV and voiced my dissatisfaction. They presented me with a $114.50 bill which I refused to pay. They forgave the $114.50. I also told them that I thought that one month's expenses as compensation would be fair to both parties. Approx $950.00I was informed also that They could not duplicate the air loss from the airbags. I asked them if they had an air gauge so we could check the air pressure in the air bags. They said they could not duplicate the problem. I told them that that was not what I asked. That I asked if they had an air pressure gauge. The conversation ended. Upon arriving home i checked the pressure in the bags. Right passenger side 68.5 psi. Left side drivers 8.0 psi. Obviously a leak somewhere. If I have to go to small claims court I will be asking for two months expense compensation. Remember 14 days promised, 95 days delivered. Kids out of school 1st week of June. Back in school 8-10-15

Camping World's Insurance Doesn't Take Care Of Damage At Their Facility

2.8
Details

Update by user Aug 12, 2015

I spoke with the General Manager Mike Ruth who told me that he is learning a lot the insurance and that the insurance is working for the Camping Worlds best interest, regardless if a customers Motor home is damaged the companies property. That they shouldn't be held responsible and that the customer should just let their own insurance company pay the claim

Original review posted by user Aug 12, 2015

Fire at Camping World Island Lake, IL. Our vehicle was damaged. Now Camping World says to just submit just file a claim with my insurance and let them take care of the damage. Camping World's Insurance Gallagher & Fisk says that they won't file the claim because they aren't liable that my insurance can take care of it, but they then submit an estimate of repair that the want to get paid for. This isn't over. I am not paying a deductible nor a rate increase because Camping World won't take care of the damages that happened at their facility. Unbeleivable.

Camping World - Refund time exceeds 45 days from cancellation

I have spent upwards of five hours of MY valuable time cancelling an order that was placed on June 13th for items that had not shipped within two weeks and were needed for a vacation. A call was placed on June 29th cancelling said order (after a two hour wait for a representative). We received a confirmation email from Ashley regarding the cancellation of the order and were told the refund would be issued in approximately 10 business (absurd in and of itself). As of August 5th we still had not received the funds owed us, which were by the way debited from our account on June 17th. We spoke with a "supervisor" only after being forced to request a supervisor for inadequate response to our request for the refund. I called AGAIN today, AUGUST 12th and after spending additional time on hold -was "assured it was next in line to be handled and we would have out funds in approximately FIVE business days." Disgust with this Company does not begin to cover my sentiments. I will NEVER use Camping World and will be sure to let everyone I know how unsatisfactory and unhelpful their so-called customer service has been. The absolute worse experience I have ever had with any type of retail, on-line entity.

Camping World in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - Poorest service dept. I ever experienced and deceptive sales practices

1.6
Details
I’ve never been to complain but my experience with Camping World of Myrtle Beach, SC can not go without at least notifying you of customer services that would never be tolerated with my company. We purchased a used travel trailer (2 years old) last year. We were not informed that the trailer had a broken axle. Camping World refused to repair it because it was sold “as is”. OK shame on me. Cost me an arm and a leg. At the time we bought the trailer we also bought the electric brake system. The brake system was installed by a gentleman who had no idea what he was doing. The control was installed near the floor on the drivers side which I can hardly reach must less see. He took off without leaving any instruction or information on the system. Almost wrecked the trailer trying to find out how they worked. Shame on them. Had the trailer winterized by Camping world last fall. My wife and I took it out for the first time this season this on the weekend of 8/8/15. Connected the water line and flushed out all the water tanks. Turned on the water heater and got nothing but smell of something burning. I immediately went out and opened the water heater cover and found the electrical components not been reinstalled. The heating element was lying on the metal framing of the heater and glowing bright red. This resulted in the heater framing being badly burned and nearly staring a fire. I also found a white powder covering the components around the electrical connections which appeared to be fire depressant. They won't do anything with unless I pay extra for their lack of communication.

Camping World in Vincennes, Indiana - Big problems

1.7
Details
We bought a fairly new fifth wheel. We paid the $700+ to have everything checked out. They failed to notice that the back axle u-bolts were loose. After less than 1000 miles, the axle rotated completely in the u-bolts, bending the axle and ruining two tires. We also had two major roof leaks, and resulting water damage (damage done prior to our purchasing the trailer). The roof had not been checked, either. Camping World said the $700+ was for checking the appliances, nothing else. This is not what the salesman had told us. They refused to respond to either issue.

Camping World in Colfax, North Carolina - This business is criminal

1.0
Details
In a word, Incompetent. In another word, Criminal. I’m really not sure if the Camping World Colfax NC service department is comprised of individuals who are simply bad at their jobs, or if they truly have intent to defraud their customers and steal money where none is owed. What we went to Camping World Colfax NC for, how they responded, and what they charged: Issue: Living room attic fan not working. Camping World: “You’re right, it’s not working. You should get that fixed.” Charge: $64.50. Issue: Bathroom attic fan not working. Camping World: “Seems to be working now.“ Charge: $64.50. Issue: Black tank gauge never shows empty. Camping World: “Yeah you got some kind of problem there.” Charge: $64.50. Issue: Install Wiring for portable solar panel. Camping World: Installed wiring, then closed the wiring up under the steps so that it is inaccessible. Then lied that the wiring was too short to be made actually useable. Charge: $64.50. Issue: Need a copy of all keys since we only have 1 set. Camping World: Forgot this request entirely. Charge: none. Issue: Fill the propane tank. Camping World: Did this after we arrived to pick up the rig at a pre-scheduled time, which delayed pickup by almost an hour. Charge: Cost of the propane. Issue: Replace RV water filter. Camping World: Installed filter (got this one right actually). Charge: $64.50 Issue: Check water levels, etc. in batteries. Camping World: Forgot this request entirely. Charge: none. All told we got: General walkthrough of the RV to confirm that the items not working were in fact not working. Water filter replaced. Wiring attached to batteries. Propane refill. Total Charges: $455.00!!!!!! You be the judge. You want to give Camping World Colfax NC your business? For me, I don’t plan to buy a roll of toilet paper from any Camping World across the country, never, ever, ever. Unethical crooks.
