Camping World - Bad experience at two different locations.

Terrible experience at two different locations. We had a bad experience at two different Camping World locations. After reading other reviews online, it seems like our experience is quite common. First – Hillsboro location: We got an estimate for hitching work that needed to be done to our truck and then negotiated a good deal the trailer that we wanted. The day before we were to take delivery, the truck work estimate increased by 40%. They hadn’t even seen the truck yet, so there is no reason for the increase except that they may have been trying to recoup some money they didn’t make since I had negotiated a very good price on the trailer. We walked away. Second experience – Portland location: I’d negotiated a good price on a trailer with my salesman via email before coming into the dealership. All was well until we were ready to finalize the deal and they sprung extra charges on us. $1100 for delivery and inspection plus another $995 in freight fees - an extra $2000 in fees on an $11,000 trailer. Fortunately I had the email from my salesman that stated the total cost they’d advertised was the ‘out the door’ price – no other fees. The manager begrudgingly said he’d sell the trailer for what the saleman told me, but I think that is only because I had that in writing. He spent a good bit of time explaining that they have fine print at the bottom of all their sale pages online that mentions these fees. So, expect the extra fees at the end, and get your deal in writing before you get there. I called the day before we were to take delivery to see if the agreed upon repairs had been made. Not one of them had been done. They said the tech couldn’t see the biggest problem we’d pointed out (outside storage door not sealing/closing properly). I would have happily explained if someone had just called me during the two weeks they had the trailer supposedly doing the requested work. Or they could have asked our salesman, since he was there when we pointed it out. We walked away from this sale as well. We won’t be doing any business with Camping World, in any location, ever. My time is too valuable to deal with this shady behavior. The integrity of the companies that I do business with is important to me. I can't imagine dealing with this company on warranty issues or repairs if we had purchased from them.

I just bought a new Kodiak from Camping World and the tech somehow left a faucet open and flooded the whole trailer. The smell is awful and I am fighting with them for three weeks now to replace this RV-I don't trust that it won't rot or mold.

I've even left messages for Marcus Lemonis and no call back-just some other salesman.

I am beside myself-they all talk down to me I guess because I am a woman I'm not sure. Beware buying from them.

Camping world service?

I have a 2014 keystone Bullet travel trailer. When i got it out of storage in late march of this year i found the refrigerator did not work. I used trailer thinking maybe it needed more time to cool down. I called camping world of denver/Freedomroads LLC for appoinment to repair frig. Got appointment for July 9th. Since trailer is one year old i thought it would be under warranty. Camping world/ Freedom roads LLC did not call for a week so I called them, they had not looked at trailer yet so i called the next week still had not looked at so i called the following week still not looked at. By the fourth week I wanted an answer and was told Louis who was handling my unit would call back, well he did not. I called again the following day and was told the same. He called! He told me my frig.did not work{really?} then he said all coolent had leaked out. I told him it should be under warranty, he said he would check into that. Well I had to call back the next week only to be told he had been in contact with the manufacturer of trailer and frig. was out of warranty. So I called manufacturer and was told that no one from camping world/Freedom roads LLC had been in contact with them. So I went to camping world/ Freedom roads LLC and talked to Louis he said he never told me he had contacted the manufactuere well I do not like being lied to so after six weeks I picked up my trailer and made an appointment with another R.V. dealer in the Denver area. In short if you need repairs on your R.V. camping world/Freedom Roads LLC is NOT the place to go. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER AGAIN!!!!

Camping World in Dallas, Texas - Non working air, rust on undercarriage.

We purchased a new keystone Montana and after delivery found a mountain of errors. Called Burlington and we were just kicked to the curb.. NEVER BUY FROM CampingWorld Burlington. We tried to get resolution for weeks and only got lip service. In our vied it was a serious error buying from Camping World Burlington. This was our very worst decision of dealing with a retail camper sales force. If you like to be stroked until the signing of the contract then CampingWorld is the place to go. Do not waste your time with a sales force that strokes you and leaves you holding the bag

Camping World - 2013 Motorhome Review from Springfield, Ohio

I purchased a 2013 motorhome at the rossford ohio branch. The whole experence was a disaster! They had 4 days to clean it and attend to repairs, the day we were to pick it we recieved a phone call after we had driven 1/2 way there, saying the new unit wasnt ready. This was a 3 hour drive. We picked up the new unit anyway and scheduled repairs at london ohio. They were great. But stay away from the rossford ohio branch!! We tried to give the ceo of camping world a letter stating our problems when he made a stop at the london ohio branch, talk about getting brushed off, he could not back up fast enough! Marcus Lemonis did not even talk to us just handed us off as fast as he could! Buy my next unit at camping world? No way. When you spend $74,000.00 you expect better. :(

Camping World in Las Vegas, Nevada - Repairs for class a rv- three weeks for 4 repairs and still not done

I took my RV in for repairs to the generator (which was not fixed on first visit), repair chassis A/C, water heater and rear slide-out. The 1st call was to get an appointment, took two weeks to book. Then took RV in and gave them the list of repairs and the extended warranty info. The Service writer Ed) asked for a length they had to repair the RV. I said I had a Planned trip with pre-paid reservations and pre-paid events for Aug. 21,2015. I had received several calls from Ed discussing authorizattion permission for repairs. Finally on Aug. 17,2015, I was called and told to pick up my RV. I went to get the RV and paid the bill and asked if all repairs have been checked. Ed told me everything was in good shape to go. Well, not everything was in good shape. The mechanics had left the power on and the aux. battery was dead and the steps wouldn't retract. Then being 110 degrees outside I had the air on to cool off. The air just wasn't cooling off so I thought I may have to get moving to get air though the radiator. I drove the RV a mile down the road and no ac. I went back to Camping World and again spoke to good old Ed and he said he would look at it right away. This was 3:35 PM, well at 5:00 pm they found the problem with a relay and they would get the part Tuesday morning. Now its Wednesday. 3:15 and they still don't have it repaired. The Service Manager has not returned my calls and Ed doesn't know if it will be done today.NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE CAMPING WORLD FOR ANYTHING because of oop servive and no concern for the customer.

I totally agree. I bought a new 2016 Thor windsport, has over forty issues after a weeks use, called Mike.

He said he'd take care if he, then when I showed up, he avoided me for two hours. This is a shame!

13 Jun 15: Purchased brand new Jayco Jay Flight from Camping World of Denver. On this day, everyone was a rock star. Problems got solved. About 3 hours later, I was on the road. 26 Jun 15: During the first trip out, we discovered an electrical issue in which one of the turn signal/brake lights was causing a fuse in my truck to blow. 29 Jun 15: I called for and got a 2 Jul 15 appointment to drop the trailer off for warranty repairs. 2 Jul 15: Dropped of the trailer. 14 Jul 15: After not hearing anything for almost 2 weeks, I called the service department only to find out my trailer still had not been looked at. 17 Jul 15: They finally called to inform me it was ready to pick up. Just a few hours later, the Service Manager called me again to inform me that my trailer had been hit by someone in the lot, forcing it backward into another trailer, then left the scene. 20 Jul 15: I found out from my insurance company that any claim had to be filed with my insurance company under my collision policy that included a $250 deductible. For an incident where I was not in possession of my trailer!! Was advised to get a police report reference number. 26 Jul 15: After a few unanswered voicemails, I emailed the service manager asking if a police report had been filed on the hit and run and that, if so, I needed the report number for reference sake on the advice of my insurance company. Over the following couple of weeks, I heard NOTHING from them. 6 Aug 15: I emailed a complaint to CW Corporate. 7 Aug 15: I got a call from the Service Manager (Imagine that!) but learned that no police report had yet been filed and that they needed to contact their insurance adjuster, then would call me back. 11 Aug 15: Called again after getting no call back. Was told exactly the same thing I had been told the previous call. They have to talk to their insurance adjuster and would call me back. It is now 15 Aug and I have STILL have heard nothing from them. If you are in the market for a trailer/RV, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO ELSEWHERE!!! Camping World will forget who you are as soon as you drive off the lot after you buy.

Camping World - Repair Review from Carson, Washington

Our first purchase was wonderful. We went back 10 mo later to buy a larger rv. We purchase it, paid cash. Gave them 2 wks to prepare the brand new rv. Upon arrival we noticed the back ladder had been crushed, and our table had been (lost, stolen, or misplaced ). The awning lights didnt work. Really upon your walk-through you didnt see these things and think to repair them before we arrived. ? So work order had to be placed. This means we have to endure the cost if going out of out way 4hrs one way. We also purchased some add on items to which we have not yet to recieved. Still waiting for our Day /night shades, and our sales rep is lets say NOT very helpful! 6 wks after purchase were told our parts/table are in. So we drive 4 hrs to our closest camping world for work to be done and pick up our table finally. Well after ladder,n lights are replaced were told that they have our table but it has no legs. Are you kidding me.! And still no blinds. My real frustration is that this is a new rv, we have 2 mos of vacation planned and no table, and no offer of a loaner table was made. No consideration for our cost of 4hrs drive, our time having to endure costly accommodations while they have the rv and knowing that will have to do it again. ! And there attitude is Just oh well thats life in the rv business. Well 2mo with out a table in a brand new rv is unacceptable. Then to top it off they damaged our control panel when wiring the led lights, so now that has to be repaired! This is a brand new $70,000 rv. Its our life savings, treat it and us with respect. I will never recommend there after purchase customer service to any one. We are also having trouble with a large slide that has yet to be addressed. Two days after we picked up the rv . The second time it went out it made a huge pop, it wont clear our island without having door handles removed. We had to pay to have a mobile company come out and get the slide in. Camping world has made no offer to cover this. And was no help when called regarding this situation. Just left feeling very disappointed. Pretty much we got your money , now who cares.

Camping World - Sales Representative Review from Richland, Washington

Details
Camping Worl Avondale Arizona (Phoenix area). Working with the sales representative went well, and from that moment forward, we would spend a week trying to work out problems with the financial management not having the papers correctly done, to problems with the trailer immediately after purchase, and forget getting help fixing those problems. They talk the talk, but they do not walk the walk. One month out and we still can not get the remote control and TV/DVDs/cd/stereo to communicate. We even tried buying a second universal remote. I just got more "I'll try to have a service advisor call you", instead of "I will have...". We moved to Alaska after they semi fixed the first three major problems and now I have to call because they do not have any Camping Worlds in this state. I do not recommend buying anything from this company!
