Camping World--awful, Ace motor home, poor assembly from factory

Purchased the 2014 Ace 27' class A at camping world in Madison Wi. Started back to Fl and the trouble light came on. We made it back to Fl and Ford could not find a new computer. We waited 3 weeks for one then took another trip all the rear lites went out-back to Ford, bad switch under dash. The latch on the kitchen pantry door broke loose,it smashed into the cabinet across from it.Took a trip to N carolina, going up the mountain she quit--stranded there for 5 hrs.Towed to Ford, they had it for 1 week, finally discovering sloppy wiring under the coach, wiring loom fell down on the muffler, not covered by Ford. It sqeeks, it shakes, and drives like a buckboard. Don't buy one-junk

Camping World Fairview Oregon

My wife and I went to buy an Ace MH. Our sales Man was named Andy when we said we will buy it he tells us this one is already sold but he has another one in Hillsboro. We see that it needs a new windshield and awning over the slide out CW will put it in. We buy it for 85000 and extended warranty for around 5000. When we take it in to put the windshield in and awing they tell us it needs a new roof. We wouldn't have bought it if we new that. The parts Lady says new roofs get put on all the time. I'm sorry but not on new motor homes. People beware.

Camping World in Dothan, Alabama - Double to triple quoted price for repair

Details
Took our 2007 Tiffin Phaeton into Camping World of Dothan, Alabama on 05AUG2015 to have the refrig looked at. Jason Armstrong (Service Rep) helped us out and said it was probably the cooling unit but would check and call me. On 07AUG2015, Jason called to advise it was in fact the cooling unit and it could be repaired for $657 or replaced $1152, not including labor. I advised for the price difference to replace, he replied that is most everybody does for the price and warranty. NOTE: My mistake here......did NOT get it in writing, only his word on the phone. Imagine our surprise when we picked the rv on 03SEP2015 and he presented a bill for $4,771.37. Our $1152 refrig now cost $3,299.97. Jason's reply. thus far has been, "You have got the better deal." "I have no idea where you got those figures." He has not offer any assistance. I have sent this Camping World Inc on 03SEP2015 with no reply to date. BJUYER BEWARE ALWAYS GET REPAIR IN WRITING FIRST FROM CAMPING WORLD!!!!!

Camping World - Manager Review from Knoxville, Tennessee

We were sold a jayco popup later to find the floor had "catastrophic water damage" and was mildewing and rotting BEFORE we bought it. We only found this out when the cranking mechanism failed to work because it tore off the rotting particle board. We would have needed a scope, an xray machine, psychic and a crowbar OR an honest dealership/salesman to have known any of this. We have pictures showing a box was constructed to conceal the fact that someone else had previously found the damage. Extreme deception. Does anyone know if there is a way using the VIN to determine if there were any repairs or insurance claims paid out? Do dealerships have a way to do this? In my opinion and experience, Avoid Camping World Knoxville on Alcoa Highway. General Manager Joe Hoey was rude and snarky to me and clearly considered this to be my headache, not his. Buyer beware.

I originally purchased a travel trailer from CamperWorld Columbia Sc in January 2015. I have been trying to obtain warranty work since February. My wife and I have now traveled across the lower half of the states contacting or stopping at every CamperWorld along the way and were told they had no appointments available, to leave our coach there for up to 30 days and they would try and work on it. That would be ok if we didn't live in ours full time. Finally arriving in Phoenix I contacted them once again and forced an appointment for July 5th. We were staying with friends so dropping off the coach a few days earlier was not a problem or so we thought.... On July 27 we called them to arrange the drop off only to be told we couldn't. After calling several times we finally we able to talk with the manager of this lot and he told us to bring in the unit and offered to set us up on a working spot. We declined that offer. The service manager we spoke with was rude and argumentave. He did say if they could look at it sooner they would. We called them on August 5th in the early morning to make sure that the coach would be ready that evening only to be told that they did not yet have approval from the manufacturer for the repairs. This not sounding right to me I called the manufacturer and in fact they had given the approval for the repairs on the 27th of July. We had to pull some personal papers so we headed to the dealer, we spoke with our service manager to be told that just before we walked in they had received approval from the manufacturer for the repairs. I called him on his lie immediately, telling him I already had spoke to the manufacturer and that the approval was in fact granted on the 27th. The ONLY REPAIR that day that occurred was a loose outlet under a cabinet in the kitchen. All the other parts had to be ordered. ( hot water heater pop off valve, stove top and grate, light fixture and a wiring strap, thermostat and a small blind part.). We were guarenteed that the parts would arrive with in two weeks, 18th of August, today is the 5th of September and we are still waiting for parts. We picked up our coach on the 6th of August and parked a few miles north of Phoenix. We tried to open the pop out only to find that it would not open as they had drained our batteries and not recharged them. I plugged in the coach which allowed us to open the pop out, it groaned moved about 3 inches and stopped. We closed it and tried again this time to have it open. As my wife looked down at the floor she saw a large tear in the floor vinyl with a plumbing tool laying in the middle of the tear. The service department had left a tool on our floor, closed the pop out. Their service tech that worked on the hot water heater removed the unit from our coach and we he replaced it back taped the wires together and the box they go in simply because he couldn't close this box properly.he also left off the hot wire so when we tried to heat our water it didn't work. At some point as they were moving our coach from place to place the also damaged the propane cover. I called the corporate offices of camping world and started to complain. We have been assured that they will repair our floor and replace the propane cover once all the parts come in. So at this time we are in limbo, contaplainting pulling the loan on this unit and just leaving it at camper world and purchasing something else at a different dealership. This drama to be continued......

Camping World in Oakwood, Georgia - Dealer not honest with information on used popup camper!

Very disappointed!!! I contacted them ahead of time, not only to check availability of a popup camper I was interested in, but also to ask some critical questions.... "Does it have trailer brakes?" and "Is there any damage to the unit?". I was told that it -did- have trailer brakes and that there was not damage. Not true in both cases. When we arrived (after a 3 hour drive) and checked the unit, one of the things I wanted to do was take it for a short test drive. I was not allowed to do that. We could have saved a lot of time if we had of done that. We were also told it had been fully inspected before it went to the lot. I found that hard to believe. Several problems were found when we first looked at the unit, but also -after- we had signed the paperwork and the inspection was done. Having no brakes was the deal killer. At least the inspector was honest about the problems and the GM of the facility eventually gave us our check back. Try some place else!!
