Camping World - Manager Review from Charlestown, Massachusetts

1.0
Details
My husband and I had brought our1978 tioga dodge motorhome class c to camping world in kingston new york to have them put in a couple items they were doing a 48 point inspection they went on the roof to put a hood vent on when they knocked off a cap that has been covered for an antenna. During the next rainfall our motorhome got drenched rain poud in buckets at a time from the roof in to our motorhome. We call them they said they would fix it. This happened in June 2015. There was damage to items that were stored in the over hang above the cab. When we called them about the damaged items they would only pay us$700.00 for the damaged items. So now we are in September and our roof is leaking on the over hang by the brackets. The General manager at the Kingston location in New York David Dorkmouth (this is not his real last name but it should be )a supposed Christian told us to call our insurance company. We had never had a leak in our motorhome in all the years we owned it until we went to camping world a nightmare visit that is still haunting us to this very day. My husband and I live in our motorhome on a full time basis. My husband and I are both diable and climbing up on the roof is in possible for my husband so I have to try and do it my self. If anybody reads this review please please do not go to camping world they are fraudulent people who do not care about people all they do is make promises but never follow through with it they just want your money and do not give a *** about you as a person they will yes you to death. Shame on you camping world God is watching you on how you are deceiving people. You get a *** in my book. Sincerely Julie Lynn Bianchi

Camping World in Golden, Colorado - HORRIBLE COMPANY

WOW !! What a horrible company to do business with. Don't buy from them !! the service after the sale is terrible. He's why, First no one will return your phone calls except for the sales staff. I left 10 messages for the finance manager without so much as a return call over a 14 day period just in case he was on vacation, he wasn't. When I was finally able to get in touch with him he ( in which I called him again ) said he didn't get any messages. Funny they were on his personal voice mail box. What do you think ?? Second, it's been 3 phone calls with contact with company employees and 3 months and I still have not received title to my trailer. They said they are overworked and under staffed. Well fix it people !! Then I've been waiting over 2 months for a $300.00 rebate check for my GAP insurance. I did get one finally 2 weeks ago but it was made out to the bank instead of me. I called and talked to the lady and she said send check back and she would reissue one to me. Well that's going on 2 weeks now and she won't return a call either now. I've left her 2 messages for her. I think all they want is your money and once they get that their done with you. I would just bet that their service department is just as bad too. This company needs some serious management changes. I will never buy so much as a roll to T.P. from Camping World in the future and I would recommend taking your business some where else as well. This is only my opinion but this is all honest information.

Camping World in Pueblo, Colorado - Front Cap

About two weeks ago I took my camper to Camping World for a review of my delamination problem on my camper's front cap. I delivered it to the service center they agree to look at it for a diagnosis. After a phone call they said I had two options, one to replace the cap for four thousand or repair the problem for twenty five hundred depending on what they found. I agreed to have it repaired. Two days later they call and said they did not want to work on my camper. They wanted to replace the cap only. After a few choice words I picked up the camper, paid the diagnosis bill and went home. When I got home I got on the internet and found a company Hemet Valley RV that would provide me with a new prefabricated fiberglass front cap for 800.00 dollars. I proceeded to repair my front cap without any problems [no other damage] for a grand total of 1000.00 dollars. Thank you Camping World for you lack of customer service you saved me over two thousand dollars. Keith ktsm0812@msn.com

Camping World in Oak Creek, Wisconsin - Prep and demo fee

Just got back from looking at some trailers, and were almost ready to buy one at a decent price. Then they showed us a $1700 prep and demo fee. I ended up walking. Isn't that a lot for prep and demo? She said she couldn't touch that price or they wouldn't be able to honor the warranty. It sounded like a lot of bull. The overall price was great, but I can't get over that amount. Am I wrong here? I am looking around online and haven't been able to see anyone else that had to pay that much. Tell me I am not crazy!

Camping world complaint

1.0
Details
Friday June 26.2015 copy to Paul caglin Aug 1, 15 copy to corp hqa via complaint ln A brief history of my dealings with the St Augustine Camping World 1. I purchased the 2010 Dutchman 390 intense toy hauler about April 2011. The sales crew and the financial crew were great to work with. Someone from the service dept was assigned to give me a walk-through to insure I understood all the controls and to check for any problems. When it came to showing me the levers to drain the holding tanks I pointed out to him that there was no lever for the forward gray water holding tank. He explained to me in the newer units that the black water valve emptied both the gray and black water at the same time. OK I believed him until the first time we went camping and flooded the master bedroom. I discovered a small hole that a bee might make and poked a clothes hanger in and felt something hard. After cutting out the insulation I found the valve with no control lever attached. I went bought the parts and I fixed that. 2. I had some add on features and so I did not take the unit with me that day. After the work was completed I went to pick the unit up. Some one from Camping World met me to assist in hooking the fifth wheel unit up. He was having some problems getting the height right and I asked what the problem was. He said the motor overheated and the safety shut it off. After another attempt I opened the compartment containing the gear equip and discovered the channel the landing gear slides up and down in was split. (this is like 1/4” steel). They kept the unit and fixed the problem. 3. I go to pick the unit up after the above repairs, I was instructed I would be met out in the front parking area to receive the keys. After 2-21/2 hrs and many trips inside to check on the status someone came out and explained an employee accidentally took the keys home. 4. Some time later ( the paper work with the exact date is in the camper) I took it in for some warranty work. The fueling station didn't work and the generator would not run for more that 15 minutes. I go to pick it up and instead of owing $50 or $100 I owe $900 and they explained the generator needed a new carburetor not covered by warranty. I requested the old parts and received them. There was nothing wrong with the carburetor or the fueling station pump but the fuel filter that was changed on the generator was clogged. I decided that was the last time that I would deal with Camping World. 5. Well 14 months later the generator had the same problem, I called the service department to check on the warranty for repairs, I was told 12 months and decided I would get someone else to fix it. 6. This past April, I hit a low limb at a state park and did damage to the ac and some vents. I took pictures to report this to my insurance company. Camping World recommended insurance company. I told them I had already had it looked at and pictures taken of the damage and wanted to use the mobile RV, licensed and insured people to do the work and they said OK but would not pay travel expenses to that company and that they recommend I use one of their “trusted” shops. Go figure, that was the St Augustine Camping World. 7. I got an $8,500 dollar estimate, the insurance $7,900 (approx) that would have had me paying about $600. When I went to pick it up I was billed $1000. I questioned why and I was told there was some other damage found that caused the increase. 8. This past week I was told that the repairs were complete and went to pick up my RV. I was assured that a complete walk through had been done by three people ( I had told Ashley about my previous experiences with his company). I did a quick look through and because the work was all on the roof could not see much. I opened the toy hauler door and the rear ac had wires and sheet metal hanging down and no cover. I did not come home with my RV. 9. I was told Camping World would pay to have the unit towed to my house after the above was fixed. I got an email the work was done and the unit would be delivered on Friday June 26, 2015. I requested that someone plug the unit and insure the ac units could be controlled by the thermostats and that the driver delivering the unit call me when he got close so I could guide him in to where the camper would be parked. I got no call and called Camping World to check on the delivery. I asked to speak to Ashley and was told he was not at work today, I explained my issue and requested I talk to someone about this, she transferred me to some ladies voice mail that said she would return my call by 5pm. I hung up and called again and asked to talk to a live person, I got transferred to Doug. I explained the issue and he said he would check on the status. About 10 minutes later he called and told me no one was scheduled for the delivery and no one was available to deliver it. 10. While at the service advisory desk I noticed a sign that said repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own your RV. I asked two service advisers about that and one said yeah well that is only for 12 months, the other service adviser said yeah I guess they are guaranteed for as long as you own your RV. I would like to know what the policy is. 11. I gave the maintenance supervisor Paul Caglin a copy of this list and he blew me off saying he was busy. He never got back with me. After sending the above complaint to camping world hq via their web site they sent it right back to the person i delt with originally ( Paul Caglin at the st augustine fl location) he told me there was nothing he could do about the carb that was replaced that didn' fix the problem or refund me the $900, also I could not get a detailed listing of why the estimate went up on the roof repairs which cost me an additional $400 nor refund me the money. Also I asked about the sign in the repair shop that said " we garante our work for as long as you own your rv" his answer to that was "of course we can't do that we would go broke" I have the carb that was replaced and the non itemized bill for the roof repair.

Camping World in Rockford, Illinois - Employees need some training

We stopped at this Camping World planning to buy approx $600 worth of products for our RV. When we finally found a person who could help us, we found out that they did not have what we wanted. We have a gas Motorhome and were shown what we were looking for, but for a deisel engine. The girl said they had another one that was maybe for gas, but could not find it. I had questions about another product that they were out of and I thought I would order it, but no one could answer any of my questions. We left with nothing.

Camping World - Deal Review from Adairsville, Georgia

Do not trust mayu the service manager is a lier.bought a brand new camper set it up first time and when we hooked up water it was running out from under the camper. When they built the camper at Coleman they shot a staple thru the water line. I fixed their problem for them. Mayu said he would replace the insulation that got wet. When they said it was ready went to pick up they had not replaced anything and was told it did not need it but you can't tell unless you removed the under fabric which was not done. Then the *** said I put the holes in the pipe. What would I be shooting staples in my camper for.first I would have to remove the metal siding to get to the area where the pipe and staple were.this place is nothing but a bunch of lying idiots. I will never deal with camping world period. And would not recommend camping world to anyone.i could go on for sometime but this is the straw that broke the camels back. Hey mayu get a life. And may the feas of a thousand Camels infest your wife's arm pits.

Camping World - Warranty Review from Woodstock, Illinois

Worst customer relations. ... and will never purchase another thing from this company. Purchased 2015 dutchmen kodiak 276bhsl late last season ! Had a couple of issues with unit which i was charged for road service fee for warranty work. Which i was o.k with? But we paid off the loan note in less than a year and we had gap insurance on said loan, well early payment warranted us receiving a check from camping world of deforest, wisconsin at $791 well we paid off the trailer about 6 or 7 weeks ago and thought that everything was set and the check should be in the mail. And nothing? So on 9-22-15 called camping world and spoke to travis in finance and told him my name and asked if he had any idea when we would be receiving our money? He proceeded to ask me if i had filled out a form. (What form)? I replied !!!!! That we needed fill out some release form or something to that effect? So i asked him how come this is the first time of hearing of this and why was i not told this in the beginning 6 or 7 weeks ago?? And his reply to me was priceless ( thats not our responsibility its yours ) i was pissed, so i went to there website and emailed them a complaint that travis is absolutely not customer oriented and in a way very arrogant. Couple hours go by and i get a phone call from Internet manager on said complaint concerning the issues and told him the story and told me he would look into it and get the form emailed to my wife the next day which was 9-23-15 , never got it .so my wife called travis @ approximately 2pm and he blatantly said to my wife ( i have 5 or 7 deliveries to get out today and if i have time for you then i will get it emailed to you and by the way you can tell your husband that we also received his complaint from better business Bureau ) and my wife at that point said o.k said good bye.
