Camping World Service Department Review

1.0

Not enough space to list all of the complaints about service and the time it took to get the unit back in service. When returned unit still no correct total of around 90 days. I'm done with them will probably be treated better by a shade tree mechanic and the repairs will be better so after around $7000 of "service" it's time to say shove it.

Camping World - Sold us a lemon fifthwheel
We bought a 2014 Alpine in the fall of 2014 at Syracuse camping world. We weren't able to use it till the next spring because we live in Syracuse NY. When we started to use it the slide keeps digging into the kitchen floor. Called Keystone they refuse to fix it. Camping world and Keystone do not stand by the products they sell. This will be the last trailer I will ever buy from camping world and Keystone. Pictured is what our floor looks like.

Camping World in Meridian, Idaho - Dishonest Sales Approach

Had a terrible experience after purchasing a used 23 foot motorhome fro Meridain Camping World. There were 3 minor things needed with this coach prior to our purchasing. 1) A drawer runner re-attached. 2) a new pull strap for the awning. 3) The VCR properly connected to the TV. We made an appointment to bring the coach back for these simple 3 repairs a week after purchase and was told by service personel that since we had not purchased an extended warranty they would not honor what the sales personel (Nurja Kajdic and Randy McCarrel)had promised. We drove straight to Wilson RV and had all 3 problems taken care of that day for $154. $154 which would have cost Camping World less than $10 and now for the life of this coach the Camping World tire cover will have "Are Dishonset" added for their service advertising.

We went to camping world in Byron, Ga today. We told the salesman that my husband had a cast on the lower leg, he took us to fartherest point of their lot, dropped us off told us to look around he would be back, after waiting about twenty minutes we walked every step of the way back after 3 other camping world employees passed by us so we took our cash and left. Am not happy and will never go back to that one or any other, but I will tell everybody I know about my visit there.

Camping World - Customer Service

My husband and I purchased a 2015 Thor Challenger from Camping World in Garner NC.....January of this year. While talking with the sales department and during the process of the purchase we were treated extremely nice and all our questions were answered as well as our calls being returned. We took our motor coach on our first trip and were told to return it with any problems....as they knew with a new coach we would have some. Our first list consist of 17 items! During the first six months, we had the coach two months and Camping World had it four months. It has been quite an experience dealing with the service department! We live an hour and a half from Garner so the expense of traveling back and forth has been very costly. Most of the problems have now been fixed...all it the issue with the hot water heater. It has been there twice for the same issue and still is not fixed! We called this week to schedule an appointment and were told it would be January before we could take it for work. Not acceptable!!! My husband left messages for the service manager and the writer that handles our issues...neither have returned his call. When you spend the kind of money we did...you would expect better customer service....no it's not a million dollar motor coach BUT we expect at least for our calls to be returned and questions to be answered!!

I brought my RV in for a battery charging issue. I knew it was a bad converter. At first they told me the converter wasn't the problem and that it was a short in the wiring. Three days later I called to see what they had found and they informed me that the converter was the issue. One of the two screws that holds the front of the power panel was cross threaded. They let my battery drain to nothing (500 mV across both) and then didn't charge it. I don't know how they could have teatime my system with twodead batteries. Overcharged for a covered (warranty) repair of my converter. I should have done it myself. It would have been cheaper and done better. Not impressed.

Camping world too big to listen

In January 2015 I drove 45 miles to the Ocala Fl Camping world. My intent was to order 2 slide toppers and 1 window awning. I knew these items wouldn't be in stock, but I could order and pick them up at the store. When I approached the parts/service counter, I observed only one person behind the counter. He appeared busy, so I quietly waited. After about 2 minutes, without looking up, he said, "They're not in today. Because it was Sunday, I presumed he meant the service department. I told him that I wasn' t wanting the service dept. Without looking up, he replied. "Well just what do you want"? I told him that I wanted two toppers and an awning. Without looking up, he replied "We don't have those items in stock". I advised him that I wanted to order them. He immediately looked at me, and impatiently replied, "What do you want me to do"? Embarrassed and at a loss for words, I simply turned to leave. He said, "Have a nice day". As I got in my vehicle to leave, I decided to mention this to the manager. I returned to the store and asked for the manager. I was told that he wasn't in at the moment. I was assured that he would contact me. I left my phone number, email and mailing address. I'm still waiting for that contact. On November 16,2015 I made an internet order. Next day, I was notified that I would receive the order on Friday the 20th. I did receive one of the two items ordered. Since I had received no word about the 2nd item, I called customer service. The lady informed me that I hadn't paid for the item. I assured her that Camping World had debited my account shortly after the order was placed. She then said that it must be back ordered, and that the factory would contact me. Not wanting to let it fall thru the cracks, I asked if she could confirm that the item had been received by the factory responsible for shipping. She snidely responded, "It's only been 4 days. What kind of confirmation do you want"? I thanked her for her time. I know that I am writing this in frustration, and that I'll get over it. I have for 20 plus years enjoyed Camping World. it's unfortunate that Customer Service has become so pious, and continues to fail in at their job.

Stolen camper off camping worlds lot.

I too have had issues with camping world. My issue is with camping world of mid Missouri. We bought a BRAND new 2015 Coleman 32' pull behind camper from them in July 2015. We bought it with a few cosmetic flaws that were covered under warranty and parts were ordered "immediately" to be fixed when they came in. Well, those issues were only taken care of after several visits to the store. Finally in October 2015 our warranty parts are in and we are told to bring the trailer on in for work. By that time there were more warranty issues that needed to be addressed AND we decided to add on a spare tire and a level which we were going to pay for. Finally, 6 weeks after we took the trailer in, on November 11 we were called and told work was complete and it was ready for pick up. I told them it would be a few days before we were able to pick up, and they said that was fine, but I needed to call before I headed in so they could have the trailer pulled out and ready. Well, neither my husband or I had called, but I drove by camping world on my way home Saturday November 14 and noticed it had been pulled from outside the locked and secured area. I was able to get my husband to leave work early and go up to camping world. Upon further inspection we noticed some of the requested work had not been done. The spare tire was on, but no level, and some of the warranty work wasn't complete. My husband was not happy and told them he would be back for pick up later in the week so he could talk with the manager. Here is where the story gets good. I last laid eyes on my camper November 14 at approximately 4 pm. Monday morning November 16, the service department notices the camper is not there. They do not investigate to see where the camper is, they do not call us to see if we picked up without paying the $300 balance we owed them for the spare tire, and they didn't call the cops. They wait until my husband calls to go in for a walk thru with the manager and to pick up THEN they notice the camper is stolen. To make things worse, we were not given an apology, the service manager said this "I've never even lost a *** tube in my life let alone an entire camper!" After we made the report with the sheriff, we asked the service manager what camping world was going to do seeing as the camper was in their possession and they were negligent by not locking our camper back up, and, in the presence of the sheriff, he said, you need to file through your insurance, we are NOT responsible. SERIOUSLY??? Not your problem. My camper was in for work that they DIDN'T complete, they left it out from behind the secured area with no lock on the hitch, no security cameras on the premises, and noticed it was missing Monday and did nothing about it until we same in on Saturday. I'm hoping corporate will make things right because if not, I will personally OWN camping world.

Camping World in Columbia, Missouri - Our camper was not locked and secured and therefore stolen off their property

Camping World - Our camper was not locked and secured and therefore stolen off their property
Camping World - Our camper was not locked and secured and therefore stolen off their property
Our camper was in for some warranty repairs and we wanted to add on a spare tire. I was called on Wednesday November 11 (after they had it 6 weeks for what they said would only take 2 weeks) and was told it was ready. I told them it would be a few days before we could pick it up and they said for us to call ahead of time so they could pull it out. I just happened to drive past camping world on Saturday November 14 and saw my camper was out in the parking lot, not locked or secured, mind you we had yet to call them about pick up. We went in that day, and discovered that not all the requested work had been done, and we told them we'd come back later in the week. They said they noticed Monday November 16 that the camper was no longer there. They didn't call us or investigate where it was and why it was missing. We owed them $300 for the work they actually DID do, but they didn't call us to see if we had picked it up without paying them. We went in today November 21 only to discover that not one person there knew where the camper was. A $25,000 camper missing. All our camping gear was inside, linens, a tv, dvd's fishing gear, chairs, life jackets, you name it, if it was used for camping it was in there. We were told by the service manager that we needed to take care of it through our insurance that it wasn't their problem.

If you buy a camper from C.W. and you pay big money and they leave your camper open so other people can walk through it and steal things out of it, what are they thinking.

I saw a $175 thousand dollar motor home open with a sold sign on it and people were walking thru it and they didn't care to lock it and secure the keys?

I hope that when they get off of work and get home and find someone sitting in there home it's ok with them? This company has so many people pissed off why do people still go back and get ripped off have these a...holes.

Yes I did, mostly. I'm still waiting I insurance to see if I'll get my deductibles back, but they took the recovered camper and swapped us out for a brand new one of the exact model, and cut us a check for the stolen gear that insurance didn't cover. What camping world did your camper get stolen from?

Camping World in Pinson, Alabama - Disappointed

Details
We traveled for 4 hours to Olive Branch, MS to trade our camper for a 2015 Cougar that they advertised for $27,995. We had spoke to the saleperson there and was understanding that everything was ready to be signed. After looking at camper and found a few things wrong, they promised to fix them before we left. So, we went to sign the papers but realized that the #'s did not match what we understood would be our price. After getting them to itemize the credits and charges, we found that we were charged 999.00 for a walk through (we were not told in advance), and they said they gave us a $500 discount for retired military. We could not find on contract this discount. We told them that we would go ahead and take camper if they would remove the 999.00, but they would not, so we left. But after reading some of these complaints, I believe we lucked out.
