The Customer is NEVER right at San Martin Camping World

We needed an air conditioner replaced, we requested Camping World when we received our insurance quote. Because my husband was going to be out of town for that next week, we asked if we could bring it in on a Saturday and then pick it up the next Saturday. The week before, I had brought in the insurance approval for the work, and asked for a copy, which I received, (this was some time before 2:00 that afternoon), when I called the next day, I was told that I had brought it in well after 3:00, which meant that the order couldn't be placed and that the part # wasn't on the approval (it was, she just didn't notice). I also was told that I was mistaken when I had mentioned that I had been there before 2:00. She told me that the part was discontinued, so she had to go through our insurance to get the change approved. After the approval, I made arrangements to bring in the 5th wheel on Saturday. We did bring it in, and my husband asked to have a tire replaced for our spare, and that we would pay for it when we returned. The work was done on that Wednesday, and I received a call, insisting that I make a payment for the deductible right then. I said that we were planning on making the payment on the day we pick it up, and that my husband would like to check it before we made the payment. She was quite insistent, but didn't call back for the rest of the week. Then, when we got there, the tire issue hadn't even been taken care of. We looked inside and saw a mess, which was quite different from when we dropped it off. Apparently, they were not careful moving it into the shop, the we noticed that our living room slide out had been opened and closed while we were gone. The bedroom is where the air conditioner was being replaced, which is the first slide out to be opened. (This is the last slide out to open when we push the button for slide outs, we noticed because we always put a silicone type sheet under the living room slider to keep from scratching the hardwood floor). The silicone sheet was not in there the way we always place it. I talked to the manager about this, and he called in the man who did the work, he of course denied that he opened the slider. The manager of course believed the employee. I wasn't asking for money or even to have the floor replaced, I just wanted to know why this happened, but as I said, the customer is NEVER right there. I know there are some honest and caring, helpful employees there, we have gotten help from them, but I can't say the same for the service department.

Camping World in Fife, Washington - Tried selling me a used water heater, TWICE!!!

I bought a water heater from Fife Camping World last week and noticed as I was walking out of the store that it looked like it had been repackaged. Sure enough it was!! It had tears and scratches on the metal and had grass visible on the top! I brought it back in to the store, they told me it was the last one. Because I just drove 1.5 hours to the store I insisted with the manager that I get free shipping on a new one. He agreed, I waited 1.5 weeks and got ANOTHER USED ONE!! With greasy finger prints all over the Styrofoam exterior and chipped. The box was visibly opened and was not even sealed on one end.

I ordered a premium cover for my 2016 38 ft. RV toy hauler. 10/21/2015, They took the $ out (credit card). I still have not gotten my cover, it was not cheap close to 600. Sad how no body gives a *** anymore or when they promise and take the $. I wonder where the owner is or does he give a ***? I wonder who will read this complaint, God knows I have been patient. I wish the owner would read this and fix Camp-worlds *** ordering. Min. email me and say sorry for the lateness " I know we said this but.... today is 12/15/2015 and I still don't have what I ordered but its paid for. Having the exact same issues. First email said just wait, and oh, factory direct 4-6 weeks.

Email at 52 days and now they tell me it is a back ordered cover.

Come on! They have had my $400 plus for 52 days and I have no cover.

Heartland was went above and beyond to send us the parts to replace the issues. Camping World in Montezuma, Iowa - Incomp. workers

I took my RV to camping world in Ceder Falls June 9th to get some small things fixed. It should have taken no more than 2 weeks. It was there 4 months. They wouldn't return my calls. They called me twice and said it was done. I drove 80 miles one way to get it and it hadn't been touched. I will never take it back to them for anything. And I will never rec. them to anyone. To talk to them you would thing they were the best in the country. But they are far from it.

It most likely isn't the technicans, most are highly skilled.

If you were quoted a price and a tech inspected your coach the front counter people most likely made the mistake ask to see the hand written note from the tech that will most likely explain your problems the tech only get paid if the work is done and most likely it is flat rate

Camping World - Manager Review from Millbury, Massachusetts

The overall impression when you first get there is good, BUT you sound definitely think twice or even three times before you entrust your camper to them. They DO NOT fix the issues and cause damage to the camper. I brought our camper in to be winterized and have some minimal items fixed because I did not have time. When I picked it up, they had damaged my trailer and then said, Bring it back later and we will fix it". We did and more problems!!!! The service manager could care less and in my opinion should go to anger management sessions. Find another service dealer!

Ross and Heather Deprey Hi there! We just purchased a new 2016 top of the line Jayco Pinnacle 5th wheel from Camping World in Oakland GA. Not only do we have a bunch of issues with the fifth wheel but we also had one of worst experiences with a few of the Camping World staff as well a long day with tons of hiccups. We went to Camping World on my wife’s birthday 11-29-15 to look around and after looking at a few models we settled on the Pinnacle. We had previously visited the same Camping World when they were having their weekend sale and we spoke with the Jayco rep and he went through the whole line and explained a lot of the features your company has that others don’t as well as how well the product is made and your warranty. On 11-29-15 we put a deposit down on the unit and explained to the manager as well as the sales rep that we need the unit the next day. Waiting is not an option and that we would choose something different or go somewhere else if the unit would not be ready on that time frame. We were told that the unit would have at least four guys on it and any issues would be fixed and gone through before we even got there. Our appt time was 11 am; we purposely got there later to make sure the unit would be ready when we got there. We were told the day before we would be given a walk through with a tech and given a short tutorial of how to work the unit. The tech did an amazing job showing us how to work the unit. When we got there we were ecstatic as we have been saving for years to be able to do this move. However, after being at Camping World all day and problem after problem arising and people, acting like we were bothering them for legit problems we were finding. My husband asked for I owe you slips so we could have a tech come out and have the problems fixed. By 4:30 we had signed the papers and handed over our check and as soon as that happened it was like we were pieces of dirt after that happened. Honestly, we paid $67 thousand in cash through a cashier’s check from our bank and we shouldn’t be treated like ***! weather we paid $500 or 1 mill but the point is as soon as they got paid it was like we were on our own and we were pests to them. Plus, right before the unit was set to leave; the warranty person came over and hassled my husband to sign an extended warranty and was threatening him that the price goes up after he steps out the door and that he had to sign a waiver before he left. After my husband explained to her that he was dizzy and starving not feeling good from not eating anything all day from being stuck there at the lot all day. We were told that Camping world was not responsible for any issues with the unit after we left the lot. We were to call Jayco for any other issues that had arrived. I myself asked the man that we signed the title papers with who we needed to call if problems were to arise. I mean come on it’s a new product things go wrong. Weather it’s a car, a sewing machine or an Rv; something is bound to eventually come up. So I wanted to know for myself who to call, after reading a liability form for the warranty; I asked the, man who I call if a problem were to come up. He looked at me square in the face and said I have no idea, ask your sales man! As he rudely rushed out of the room as I was asking another question. . It felt like a total slap in our faces.. This happened right after we gave them the check, do you see where I’m going with this. It’s like oh we will promise you the moon and stars until you pay and then we throw you out in the cold.. Not a great feeling ya know? Below is a list of the things we found wrong with the unit most of which my husband found while at the lot. However we have found a few more things since we have had the unit here in the campground. 1. The Kitchen Flooded 3 days later as a pipe let lose 2. The Carpet is loose and raised in the living room; we were told that they would need to keep the unit for an additional three days. Even after we explained to them we had no choice and we had to take the unit home that day. . 3. The top Ac unit was never check and the fuse had popped which again my husband caught and had to make the technicians take a look at it and replace the fuse as they were pushing him to leave the lot. 4. The living slide on the right side (passenger) was left open and got stuck. They wanted the driver to deliver it to us like that. We have no truck yet so we needed Camping World to deliver it to us. My husband had the delivery guy call the manager and he sent over a man who had to reset the slide and it works and comes in now. 5. Then after the slide was shut it was *** eyed and they still tried to pull the unit out of the lot. My husband said no way, fix it. We have no truck and can not just bring it back. 6. As they were leaving my husband noticed the unit didn’t even have a temp tag, which we asked for earlier in the day when we signed the papers for the title over to us. We were told they would absolutely give us a 45 day temp tag. However once again they dropped the ball. 7. My husband also found a crack in the kick plate going up the steps, the inverter for the refrigerator doesn’t even turn on, the garbage can drawer does not close at all( this was supposedly fixed as well on the lot ) , all the big rollers for the blackout shades do not work properly and those were supposed to be ordered and fixed as well. My husband received an I owe you tickets for those after they made a huge deal about giving him the tickets for each of those items he found . 8. Today we found scratches all over the counter on the island and the table in the kitchen; those were not found when we were on the lot. So I called to Jayco and reported those today. We know they are not from us as we have been putting towels down through the whole move in and we have place mats on the table. 9. In the hallway going to the bedroom the trim on the floor is cracked as well the door frame and the framing around the glass on the bedroom door is peeling laminate. 10. 2 different usb ports don’t work ( should have been checked Im doing the work to fix them We don’t feel we are asking for a lot here, we paid a lot for this unit and we worked hard to get the money to purchase it. We expect the quality we were promised and are very disappointed with the service from Camping world and all the problems arising with the unit. As far as Jayco is concerned, we are blown away with the unit as a whole. We love the woodwork as well as the design . Thank You Heather And Ross Deprey 1-772-834-3311

Same type unit. Sorry to say it only gets worse no dealers to fix warranty is a joke they fix there own sales tell you take it back where you bought it

Camping World in Indianapolis, Indiana - Very Poor Customer Service

We purchased a brand new camper a month ago from the Indianapolis Camping World. At the time they took the license plate from our old camper and was supposed to put in on the new one. They did not do this and we have been trying and trying to get our license plate back. We have called and left messages with the salesman, sales manager and General sales Manager. NO ONE returns our calls nor have the sent us our license plate. We will never do business with them again nor will we recommend them I even tried calling the corporate office today and got no answer there.

My wife and I traveled over 4 hours from Nashville, even stayed overnight to beat the weather, got financed, and paid for our 1st year of insurance to conclude the used camper that was "promised" to be perfect - had SEVERE floor rot!!! This was not represented on the CW webpage, nor was it ever disclosed prior to our arrival.

Moreover, Mike the Internet Sales Manager, swore to the great condition of this unit. From this point, it was one lie after another. Sales Associate, Randy Lapidus shuttled my wife & I around their beloved 40 acre lot, in circles, for over 40 minutes. Presumably, looking for possible substitutes; however, no such campers ever materialized.

BUT! Don't overlook Randy's charm. He almost had us convinced that CW was going to make everything right, even if it meant that they would eat a loss. He promised!

(Really?) Consequently, the final deal we would contemplate was to buy a New camper! Again, we made an agreement. $14,794 out the door - not a penny more. But!

Much to their apparent business ethics, another lie was awaiting our already distressing experience. BUYER BEWARE! The final amount on the paperwork was almost $16k!!! Happy to say "NO DEAL WAS MADE, NOR WILL BE".

We are hopeful that our few hundred dollars in *** tax will save someone who reads this - thousands! I Highly - DO NOT RECOMMEND. There is a reason this business has been operating for 38 years and it is not accredited by the BBB.

Do your research! We wish we did....

I have found they don't return calls worth a *** once the sale is over they don't care about anything else our salesman never returned our calls. I like Camping World but there service after the sale is terrible

Never Again, Camping World

Yesterday was the second and final time I gave Camping World in Hendersonville, NC an opportunity to make my life miserable. I took my travel trailer in for service twice, got a call that it was ready to pick up only to arrive and find things that I'd paid for that hadn't been done. My most recent experience was the last straw. I ordered a list of parts and services, one of which was the "Basic Spa" wash. I showed up as scheduled to pick up the unit and it hadn't been cleaned as the $120 charge on the bill indicated it was. I went back and complained and was assured it would be done when I returned at the end of the day. When I returned, there was a small puddle behind the spare tire and a few drops of water on the sides. On closer inspection I realized it didn't look any different from when I'd left it that afternoon. The "cleaning" couldn't have been more than a casual spray-down with a hose. Dirt, grime and streaks were all still there. I licked my thumb, rubbed it across the side and the stuff came right off, so no brush, rag or sponge came anywhere near it. Let me be clear...this "service" cost me $120. One-hundred twenty American dollars. When I complained they came up with a litany of excuses and offered to wash it again. I declined as I didn't feel the need to be disappointed one more time. It gets worse but there are plenty of horror stories on this site to match what I went through. Bottom line: Learn to do repairs yourself, hire a trusted friend, or take it to a locally-owned repair shop. Just don't go near a Camping World.

I totally agree with you, that store has put us on the never to walk into Camping World Again List. I have used Tom Johnsons for years just used them for the same wash and got the same result as you.

Problem is they have now bought Tom Johnsons, so I will give them one shot, but not expecting much.

Only place left is MiLes RV and I have already called to see if they can do my warranty work so I don't have to deal with Camping World.
