Camping World in Bainbridge Island, Washington - Ordering items

1.0
Details
OK so first off i gotta say camping world has almost everything you could ever need for camping needs. But what you really need to know is if you need something quick do not expect it. first you will receive an email asking for you to call them before they can process your order. First thing about that is they also have your phone number so why do they not try and call you first and leave a message. Second it is only so they can get you to tell them your name and address again for no *** reason. The whole reason they have the website is so you can order and not have to deal with their *** but i guess not. So you gotta be very patient for the items you spend a *** ton of money on because they wont come fast. I have been waiting a couple weeks for a few items I needed a week ago which is making my life a living *** so yea you could say i am a pissed customer.

Camping World - Rv Review from Lady Lake, Florida

1.4
Details
We wanted to buy an RV, put the application, and provided all the requested information. This was in December and it's been almost four weeks and they never answer, receive our phone call (they are always busy with a customer) and never gave us any response. To this day we don't know if it was approved or not. They are unprofessional, rude, and their customer service sucks. They don't greet you when you go there, you have to request their attention or chace them to answer questions.

Camping World - Back order

Campworld is the worst on the internet ordering. When you order something and it is on put on back order they will not tell you. Then when it is pushed out another month, they have no idea and will not notify you. Will then you call them and they say oh it is pushed out another month. You cancel the order and then they have enough nerve to say oh I cant tell you the complete total cause I cant do tax. It will take 24 to 48 hours to cancel the order and then it will take 3 to 5 days to put your money back on your card. This was the first time I have purchased anything from CampWorld and it will be the LAST.

Camping World in Rossford, Ohio - The worst company that exists, don't buy a Rv from this company

3.0
Details
First, whatever you do don't buy the worthless extended warranty or at least make sure you read all of the exclusions. Had my motorhome home for some repairs, all of the issues were cabin related but none were cover by the service plan per the insurance company. They had an exclusion for every issue. Of course, camping world didn't help fight them. When I called to get an explanation all they would say is what exclusion it fell under no explanation as to why. Just FYI, had a water system issue, they said it was contamination or corrosion, what else can go wrong but that. Leaks all over the cabin not covered. Screws popping out of the slide, not covered. Second complaint is with Camping World service, they charged 1.5 hours to diagnose that the front driver and passenger side windows rattle. I tapped on the windows in front of the service people when dropped off. There are double charges on almost every item they worked on. Some of the items have repeat charges 2 or 3 times. So, if your in the market for a new or used RV beware Camping World. Yea, they got great prices but you'll pay when you have service done.

Camping World - LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AFTER REPAIRS NOT COMPLETED!

Update by user Feb 04, 2016

I also commented on the Camping World Facebook Page along with some other social media sites. On Facebook, it seems comments and complaints are removed by the admin of the page, so I noted that in my comment.

It took a couple of weeks, but I got a response to private message my concerns, and they would make sure it got in the right hands. I plan to forward this whole page to them. I can only hope that it actually goes further than the last *** I spoke with that reverted it back to WHO I was complaining about instead of starting an investigation on them.

I can play nice and be patient most times, but you mess with safety and then tuck tail and don't own a mistake that could kill people, I am DONE and nice is the last thing you'll see. For Camping World Corporate to continue to ignore this is blatant disregard that people's lives matter as well, or employing pure ignorance at the levels I have dealt with so far.

Back in the winter of 2014, we hired Camping World in East Ridge, TN to do some bodywork to our motor coach after a slip on ice. We also had them do a laundry list of maintenance items while it was there. They had it in their possession for OVER FOUR MONTHS, never plugged it in, and the on board batteries all went dead because they weren't allowed to recharge. Then of course they tried to sell us new batteries. We had given them a deadline we needed it for a trip we had planned. After all that time, IT STILL WAS NOT COMPLETE and we were expected to take it on the trip half done and bring it back to finish when we returned! This job was over $12000. from our insurance plus what we were paying for the extra maintenance. I would've hoped a 40ft motorhome would've been sitting in the way at some point! The management team (Rick, Service Manager) never followed up with a schedule to make sure we were done ahead of schedule. Fast forward to fall of 2015. My husband, being the kind soul he is, decided to take the coach for a second chance at Camping World. He had built a connection with a guy working there that has an identical one to ours. I still don't understand the loyalty, because he doesn't work on ours, and they treat is like ***. Our airbags that lift the coach to drive it were leaking. They get old and dry rot. It was time to replace the two rear ones at least. Now if I know this, Joe Blow working at the front desk should know this in my opinion. My husband had this conversation on the phone when he made the appointment to take it in. They knew what it was, and all of the details, and when we would need it by. They were also supposed to service it for us to take on a trip and re-seal the roof. When the appointment was made, and the timeframe they had was given, it was understood by both parties, that yes they could complete it. My husband called the day it was supposed to be ready to see when would be good to come after it, and as our gut feeling told us, they hadn't even started on it. He gave them one more day, and Rick, the service manager, assured him, he would have it ready. Then there was a panic phone call from Rick that the roof had hail damage and they couldn't just re-seal it. This was a day before we were scheduled to leave for South Texas where Hurricane Patricia was coming up from Mexico. Yes, we needed a roof that wasn't leaking! It was agreed that they would seal the roof the best they could and when we got back we would bring it in for a new roof and start a claim process. What Mr. Rick is not aware of is that I was on the other end of the phone as well and heard the conversations he had with my husband. At no time did he explain to him that these airbags would not be fixed in time or that it wouldn't be safe to take. We go to pick it up the next day, I drop my husband to deal with the details because I had an appointment. We are picking it up a day later after all, and trying to leave town. We were up until midnight loading for this trip, because we were hauling heirloom nursery furniture to deliver to Texas, and had to get there before the baby arrived. Needless to say, we had a guardian angel with us. We never made it ten miles. Let me explain this the way the mechanic at Camping World did the next afternoon, and several mechanics after him as well. Air bag suspension inflates like a balloon. When the air starts leaking, it makes an awful noise at 70 mph, like hitting rumble strips x10. Then it locks up your airbrakes. The driver has no control. At this point, you say a prayer and hope no one is in the way, because the jolt can brake the chassis lose from the coach, and you can literally have 40 ft of house with a car in tow going one direction out of control and the chassis is going another direction. Well yes sir, when our air bags blew, we were also going downhill in traffic!!! Thank goodness my husband kept his wits and was able to get the RPMS up to keep enough air in the bags to regain control and to get us back to Camping World. I got Rick on the phone and told him we were having control issues and no way could we drive this on a 2000 mile trip, we were on our way in with it and he better be there. The coward never showed his face! We ask for him by name and had him paged, and he never came. He sent a mechanic to advise us after we waited almost 45 minutes. That mechanic was *** and arrogant and then told us what could've happened. He said that even if he had the parts for ours, he couldn't work on ours because he was working on someone else's that was promised two weeks prior, and that was why he was working on his Saturday as it was. I immediately got on the Internet as we sat there and started calling other trucking places and all of them gave me the same scenarios and told me how lucky we were. This isn't over. This has just begun. I called a corporate number to register a complaint last week. I feel that this is a huge safety issue that needs to be addressed. Not only could we have been killed that day, but easily the people in the three other cars around us could've been injured or worse. Let me tell you how that call was handled so far. RICK called my husband to see what he could do for us. When my husband was busy, he made the mistake of calling me. Camping World Corporate, seriously?!?! We are so much more than through with the local service department. When someone reports to you a complaint about a service department and a person that should be investigated, and it rolls back to that person to handle, you get what you deserve. I'm going on every social media site I can find and broadcasting how shady this service is before someone DIES. His main idea of "making it right" was "did you get the roof fixed yet? That's an insurance claim". Yep, been there, done that with you too. I don't care if this thing falls apart going down the road, or a tornado hits it, you have ruined the whole RV experience for me. I do not feel safe in one ever again thanks to you. I literally saw my life flash before my eyes as we danced across three lanes of road and felt like we were going to roll any second. I still don't feel safe going face to face with him either, because I don't think I could control myself. Rick mentioned something about being number 1 & 2 at something. Sorry I missed it, my ears were ringing from my blood pumping. All I could think was I flush number one and two. It means nothing to me! They have proven NOTHING to me that they could earn a cent of my money. They don't realize the ripple effects this kind of incompetence creates, nor what it cost people out of pocket and of their lives. Let me share a few details. The end of this story for those still reading that care is, we took our RV elsewhere for the airbag repairs and he had it done in less than a week. We had to drop our tow car for some suspension repairs while out of town as well, that were damaged from the jolting around on the tow dolly. Thank goodness we had another vehicle to rush to Texas in to get there in time for the birth of our granddaughter! We left a day later, driving straight through, which put us in the middle of driving in Hurricane Patricia for 7 hours. We had to find a place to stay, and figure how to pay for it, because our RV was also our living arrangements for two weeks. I had to cancel those arrangements last minute, and pay cancellation fees. We had to off load our clothes, groceries, etc, and find last minute care for our elderly dog that we could no longer travel with. Somewhere in repacking, some clothes got lost in the shuffle and left behind, so we ended up having to shop for a few things once we got there. Once home, the home care we had arranged for the dog wasn't as trusted as thought, and now have to replace some carpet, because the dog used it like grass for two weeks. The nursery furniture STILL needs to get to Texas, I just need to recoup from all of this other expense to afford to rent a truck and time to take it or ship it. My granddaughter is sleeping in a pack n play because she is now two months old and her room still isn't ready. At least we are alive to enjoy her! Grand total for this ripple effect from this service experience out of pocket...yeah we won't go there. So thanks again Camping World for your stellar customer service in your service department. If there were minus stars I could rank you with, you would be at the extreme bottom. The lack of concern and lack of quality I have seen in performance even when we were shopping for an RV, I wouldn't recommend Camping World to purchase a bottle of water or a roll or toilet paper. The RVs on the lot for sale were disgustingly filthy and they did nothing to stage them or detail them to make them appealing at all. I am over the WHOLE experience with them! One thing could have taken care of this, problem before it started and that is HONESTY. If someone would have been realistic and honest when my husband initially called to make the appointment, and just said "I'm sorry, we are so inundated right now, there is no way we can promise to have it done by then, we hate to, but we recommend if you need it for travel, you take it elsewhere". We would have much rather done that than be going through everything we are now.

Camping World in Quezon City, Quezon City - Poor quality and customer services

Just used the RV at 2 camping events at May and October, and the motor failed relentlessly. I thought the RV was worth every dollar at first, but the disappointment is just way too much, especially when it came to their maintenance services. I drove to the nearest camping world, which is about a hundred miles from home to get it fixed, but more than 2 months is just too much to handle for a motor failure. I should've read further more reviews from the Camping world before availing their products and services.

Camping World in Jacksonville, Florida - Incompetent and Unacceptable Service

I purchased a Class-B motor home from Camping World, Jacksonville, FL on or around 15 May 2015. We have used it only three times since the purchase. I realize it was “as is” when I purchased it. I have no complaints about the RV at all. After a trip we took in mid August, the generator stopped working. I was in no hurry to have it repaired because I wasn’t planning on using it for a while. I made an appointment to have it repaired on Tuesday, 13 October 2015, just prior to a weekend trip with it on the 17th. When I called on the status on the 14th, I was informed it was still waiting in line to be checked out. The same response was given on the 15th. When I called on the 16th, the day before I was leaving on my trip, the service manager, Jose, told me they were a week behind and the my vehicle wouldn’t be in the shop until the following week. I picked it up that afternoon because I needed it for the weekend. Jose told me I wouldn’t lose my place in the ***. Why wasn’t I informed when I made the appointment that they were a week behind so I could have saved time and concern for the week it was at Camping World? I returned my motor home to Camping World n the 20th and, true to his word, Jose took my keys and mine was next in line for service. However, the good service ended then. I waited several days to call for status. When I was finally able to receive some status, Jose told me that they changed the spark plug and CLEANED the air filter. They were able to start the generator, but it ran really rough. It probably needed the carburetor cleaned or replaced. The repair cost would be about $515.00. I gave verbal approval for the repairs. Several days of testing and many calls to check on status passed with no positive information or results. On the 28th of November the problem was still elusive. On the 29th of November, Jose told me they finally found the problem and repaired the generator. All that remained was for them to do was assemble everything and run a final test with it installed on the motor home. What fixed the problem was they REPLACED the air filter. Jose told me my motor home would be ready Friday afternoon, 30 October, or Saturday morning, 31 October, at the latest. I received no word from Jose on Friday so I assumed it would be ready Saturday morning. I called and left 2 messages on Jose’s voice mail between 10:00 and 11:30 AM. I told him that I was leaving on a week trip the following week and I needed the RV before then. He finally called me around 12:25 PM and told me the technician that was to work on it didn’t come to work and it would be done Monday even if he had to do it himself. On Monday, 2 November, at 9:04 AM Jose called me and told me my motor home was done and ready to pick up. He told me the cost would be in excess of $740.00. I don’t remember the exact cost. However, it was much more than the $515.00 quoted for the replacement or cleaning of the carburetor. They only replaced the spark plug and air filter, which could have been done initially instead of just CLEANING the air filter. When I arrived to pick up my RV, I asked Jose a few questions. The 1st one was, “Does the generator run on diesel or propane?” His response was that he didn’t know but the way the lines were run he guessed it was propane. He asked me if I tried running it with different fuel. I responded, “How could I if it was connected to the motor home?” I asked Jose why the cost was so high. He told me that I had to pay for the removal of the generator, all of the testing/labor that was performed, the replacement of the air filter, and the final assembly/testing of the generator. Jose also told me the auxiliary battery needed to be replaced for the generator to really work properly, for an additional charge. He told me the generator wouldn’t work unless the RV was hooked up to external power. I told him that if I was hooked up to external power, I didn’t need the generator. That is the reason I took my RV in for repair, the generator wouldn’t start and run. I asked Jose about the excessive cost for the repair. He said the generator had to be removed from the RV, a 3 hour job in itself, to change the spark plug and air filter. If true, how could they replace the spark plug and clean the air filter when they initially started the repairs? That is contrary to what he told me in October. He also told me they had to run more tests to determine why the generator was running rough. They finally had to reassemble everything. Jose told me that the technician that started the repairs no longer worked for Camping World and they had to call an independent contractor, KENT’S Mobile R. V. Generator Service, to finish the work. Jose took $40 off of my bill to appease me. He said normal rate was $125/hour and he was charging me $95/hour. At $30/hour times 6 hours (3 removal and 3 installation of generator) not counting all of the troubleshooting time equates to $180. Much more than the $40 break he was giving me. If they would have REPLACED the air filter and spark plug when they first started working on the motor home instead of CLEANING the air filter, my RV would have been finished 2 weeks earlier and would have cost approximately $500 less even if they had to replace the battery. Fortunately, I am a local and really wasn’t inconvenienced too much by the entire process. However, it was very frustrating. What would have happened if I would have been traveling from out of state and needed my RV repaired being on a tight time schedule. From the time I initially took my RV to Camping World, Jacksonville, FL service department on the 13th of October until I picked it up on the 2nd of November, was 21 days. That would have delayed my vacation, cost me approximately $500 more than necessary, require my wife and me to obtain a motel room, and rent a car. That is entirely UNACCEPTABLE!!!! Especially since I bought the Class-B motorhome to eliminate the need for rental car and motel rooms. In addition to the frustration, I was required to pay for the incompetence of the service department! The handling of entire maintenance process was UNETHICAL and boarders criminal. I am actively looking for another service center to have my motor home repaired, when needed. I am going to a local propane company to have my propane serviced rather than go to Camping World, Jacksonville. I strongly encourage everybody I know that owns a RV to use any other RV company’s service center for their RV repairs. It is my intention that this letter will instigate changes in Camping World, Jacksonville service department to make it more efficient, effective, competent, customer friendly, and honest so other customers receive world class service.

Good luck trying to change anything within the camping world organization. Promise you the world before the purchase.

Then soon after you sign the papers, you are dead to them. My advice, purchase elsewhere.

Camping World in Caldwell, Idaho - HIGH PRESSURE SALESMEN

i went to the Meridian, Idaho to look at motorhomes. Most were to expensive for me. I was taken to an older model, also way to expensive and asked how much would I pay for this one. I didn't like this old model and so I said "I wouldn't give half of what you're asking. Then suddenly I am approached by 3 salesmen who said this is a consignment and the owner says he'll take that offer, lets go sign the papers. I said whoa fellas I'm not ready for this. The sales manager said are you a liar? You said you would buy at this price. I said I would think about it, not buy it. No matter. Those three salesmen made me feel awkward and embarassed in front of my wife. I bought the Motorhome. I never drove it off the lot. I came back the next day, they would not reverse the purchase. I put the motorhome back on consignment and it was sold one year later at a $16,000 dollar loss. Those people were mean and arrogant. I never recommend that place to anyone I know.

Not camping world's fault, this all lays on your shoulders. Good thing they didn't tell you to jump off a cliff, who knows if you would have done it.

Sorry you are so easily led into things you don't want to be in, surprised you have made it to exist this long in life. DON'T BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR OWN IRRESPONSIBILITY, BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS GOOD OR BAD AND STOP WRITING POOR REVIEWS THAT ARE UNWARRANTED TO ANYONE BUT YOURSELF.

They promised that they would replace the shocks on my motor home rather than have the local freightliner dealer pick it up after Camping World installed a new main awning. After having the RV for 6 weeks they changed their mind about the shocks and never told me even though I was in contact with them several times during the 6 weeks. They did the exact same thing about a side window that my detailer broke. Even though I told them that I would pay for the window if my detailer reneged they changed their mind about doing that repair also without ever telling me until it was too late. Now I have to waste my valuable snow bird time in Florida having to find others to do the repairs. Very poor service I would say.
