Camping World - 2016 Thor Challenger Review from Wesley Chapel, Florida

My wife and I put a deposit down on a 2016 Thor Challenger at the 2016 Florida RV Show with the Tampa Camping World. As of today (one month later) we are still waiting to hear back from the finance manager (John). My wife and I have excellent credit but were a little high on debt to income. I recently paid off a lot of bills that substantially lowered this. Even at the time they run the credit, a phone call WOULD have been the professional thing to do. Now that are ratio is improved, we will go elsewhere to purchase a new motor home. I also will cancel my Roadside Assistance, Travel Assist, and definitely will not renew my membership. These people lack in Customer Service. If I run my business this way, I would be out of business!

As of 03/14/16, I have had no one from Camping World Corporate call me, email me, or mail any apology or show any concern what so ever. Must be nice to have a company that doesn't need to provide customer service and still stay in business. Camping World, not that you give a rats *** but if you see this comment, I AM DONE WITH YOU!

The absolute worst company that I've ever dealt with! They lied from the beginning, and sold us a coach that has had more problem than I'd ever have dreamed.. First off, come to find out, they hid the fact that the coach had been in an accident.. Which caused major electric problems.. Took it back in for electrical work, they cut and spliced wires and returned it to us with the headlights not working.. And proceeded to inform me that it wasn't their fault... Never mind the fact it didn't have the issue before it went in.. Things have gotten so bad, we have proceeded to file a lawsuit against them.. We had no other choice.. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE! They are crooked and look for every opportunity to rip you off!! It's funny... We attempted to trade the coach back to them, with 40% DOWN AND THEY REFUSED.. said they couldn't get financing, which is a lie, as our credit was over 800 with almost 0 debt to income! They ripped us off and they knew it!

Absolutely the worst business i have ever dealt with. Bought our brand new 2016 5th wheel in june 2015, lied to from day one, tried to get stuff fixed that was supposed to be done before we bought it since then, have had it in the shop for almost 6 of the 9 months we've owned it, local rapid city sd camping world nor corperate camping world will help, camper has been damaged since being in their possession... i could go on, but im sure you get the point. WILL NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE! EVER!!!! Horrible customer service to put it nicely, and we wont start on the service manager and the service department, I cant even put my experience with the rapid city south dakota camping word store into words!

Camping World in Denver, Colorado - AWFUL customer service and don't stand behind anything they say

In Dec 2015 we purchased a used 2004 Holiday Rambler Presidential 5th Wheel at Camping World of Denver. They told us we also needed to pay $1000 for a clear coat to protect the outside of the unit. There was no 5th wheel hitch going with the unit. They told us they would store the rig while we looked for a truck to pull it with, the manager said he would look around and see if he could find the 5th wheel hitch for the unit. In Jan we get a call from our salesman and he says he needs to deliver the unit to us as they are getting busy and don't have room to store it any longer. We are told to come down the next day for the walk through. When we get there he passes us off on the person "technician" who washed the rig. He really didn't know about our unit, we have owned a previous 5th wheel and lived in it while working construction. He kept giving us his opinion on things like our awning, our slides, and how things work. and it wasn't a good opinion. We walk back into the store after the walk through and we wait for our salesman to make arrangements to have the unit delivered to our home. After 20 minutes of waiting the guy who washed the rig comes in and says well I guess you can go home. We then left, made a stop on the way to get coffee and when we arrived there was the unit sitting on the street. When we tried to let the stabilizers down there was no battery power. The tech had told us it had brand new batteries in it. The salesman called the next day and wanted to see if the unit had been delivered I told him yes but it didn't look like the clear-coat had been applied. He replied he was pretty sure it had but it doesn't show up well on a white trailer, I explained to him that it didn't show up on the dark parts either and that I was not pleased with this or with the "tech" who had done the walk through and they also delivered a unit with a temporary licence tag that was due to expire in 7 days. They knew we were moving to another state and wasn't due to leave for a month or so. I asked for a new tag and they told me they don't do that. When we asked where our Good Sams cards were they told us it takes about 8 weeks, only problem they couldn't find us in the computer to prove we were even members. When I talked to the membership dept they said they would look into it and that since we didn't finance the unit it got forgotten. This has been the most awful experience and the Customer Service has STUNK! They are always making excuses or blaming it on someone else--nobody takes responsibility for ANYTHING.

Camping World in Frankfort, Kentucky - Unprofessional and Dishonest Sale Staff

While attending the Louisville RV Show on January 29, 2016, we found a 2016 Heritage Glen 337 BAR. The same camper we had found at another lot. Salesman said they would beat whatever price the other lot was quoting. We agreed on a price, I paid a deposit. Camping World said they would send me a purchase order on Monday, February 1, 2016. I called, texted, and e-mailed all week trying to get the purchase order to take to my bank. I finally got the order late on Friday February 5, 2016. The price on the purchase order was $5,800.00 higher than the price discussed. Call the salesman for an explanation. When I voiced my disgust at the change of the quoted amount, he hung up. When I talked to another salesman who was also at the RV show, he said the whole conversation on price we had at the RV show never happened. He more or less said My wife and I lied. Let me say this. Why would I pay a deposit on a camper at a price much higher than I already had from another outlet. You can't make this stuff up. They are dishonest period. I have been in contact with representatives of the Camping World "Rapid Response Team" trying to resolve the issue. The response was from the salesman with the above disparaging remarks.. They are supposed to refund my deposit. We will see. If my choice was down to buying a camper from Camping World or camping in a cave.......well the bear is just going to have to move.

Purchased a coach in 2012 only to find out today (4 years later) that the coach they sold me had a "Branded Title". LEMON LAW BUYBACK IN 2006. Sadly, they knew the coach they were selling me was worth about 50% of Blue book value. Called yesterday GM (Mike Braman?) at least that is what he said his name is,,,told me he would "run it up the chain" and call me back. SURPRISE.. NO CALL BACK. BUYER BEWARE..DEMAND A CARFAX on anything you buy from this supposedly reputable company. MARCUS LEMONES...you should be ashamed of yourself....

Camping World in Cedar Falls, Iowa - Not very honest

I purchased a camper from them in January 2016 paid for it and not picking it up until 4/2016. When I called and asked when my warranty starts they told me from the day I purchased it. A good common courisity for them should have at least told me that when purchased it. A good sales person should have told me just to make a down payment and pay balance when I pick it up. The Sales Manager is so unprofessional. They treat you like you are stealing thnere product. when in fact there sole purpose is to extort as much out of you as they can. I have never ever made a deal where I had to sign something that if they meet your price it's your. My suggestion to you is to make a REDICULIOS OFFER AND MAKE THEM SIGN IT. Fair is fair right?

When you buy something and pay for it, that means it is yours. In fact they were nice enough to let you keep it there.

I've been in the retail business for 18 years and just purchased my very first camper from these guys. Great people. Very professional and knowledgeable.

They could have charged you storage if they wanted to. Be thankful.

Camping World - Service Sucks

To be quite frank, the service at Camping World Berkley, MA is absolutely terrible. We brought our camper in for warranty service in November. They not only didn't do what they were supposed to, they charged the manufacturer and did more damage. Upon realizing this, the service manager Craig not only argued with us about it, he lied and said they did do what they were supposed to. Upon giving him photos of what he didn't do and contacting the manufacturer, he finally returned our calls and made arrangements to replace the defective items. Upon return, the personnel did major damage to our unit. Go elsewhere unless you are independently wealthy and do not pass attention to what they do (don't do).

Camping World in New Lisbon, Wisconsin - St George, UT Dealer

They have the worst Customer Care policy that I have ever dealt with, when I purchased our Montana HC from them they said they needed A week to prepare it up for delivery, when I went to pick it up they had done "0" preparation inside or out. In walk through there was still antifreeze stains in sinks and shower carpet was dirty, they did not seem to mind. They caused damage to the nose cap, with forklift, did not tell us, we found out when we washed it, we took it in Nov. 17, 2015 for warranty work they had it for 5 weeks did nothing until we stopped by there closet doors were warped they said had to order would be in first week Dec. 2015 here it is Feb. 2016 and no doors not even a call, also found another damage to the nose cap caused by forklift. They will not return phone calls until the 3 or 4th or more recalls. Very unprofessional in customer care. This is not unusual I have spoken with other customer that dealt with other Camping World dealers and it is a standing joke as who has the worst customer care policy

Wow. Sounds like my experience even the same manufacturer RV. Stay away from Jackson Ms, not sure if they are crooks or just incompetent.

Finally heard from Camping World on 3/4/2016, they thought closet doors had been installed not so rep said I want to come up and check out RV leaving now? Called back in few minuets and said found closet doors, amazing, listen I'll come up Sat.

Morn, no can't do that what about Monday morn? Typical camping world procrastinating on doing something.

We will see if someone shows up Monday (3/7/16). Will report progress if any, by the way said not one thing about damage to RV front cap.

Camping World Rv Financing Review from Pretoria, Gauteng

I am so disappointed with the service we received there, mostly with the finance department. After sitting there for hours afternoon on Saturday waiting to hear on our financing, we were told they wouldn't know anything till Monday or Tuesday so we left, but not before leaving a cash deposit/down payment ( which looking back I'm not sure why they needed us to do that, before we even knew if we were going to be approved or not, why not just bring it with us once everything was finalized?...) as it turns out we were not able to get financing, which is bad enough, but getting our deposit back has become a struggle, we drove up there last Saturday( an hour drive) to get our money back, just to be told they don't keep cash there nor do they have the ability to write us a check... And that they would contact corporate and they would send us a check on Monday and we should have early next week, so Thursday comes and still no check, so I call ( 3 times before I can get an actual person on the phone) and they now inform me that corporate sends the refund deposit checks out once a week on Fridays!!!! So I'm still waiting to get my money and it's been almost two weeks since we found out we didn't qualify and if they actually send out the check on Friday and by time it comes it the mail and gets verified by the bank it will have taken three weeks to get our money back...
