Camping World - Review in Dealers category from Coffeeville, Mississippi

So, so disappointed in the service dept. in both the Lafayette and Bossier City locations. Purchased a BRAND new 2016 Heartland the end of May. The guy did our walk through in quite a hurry and didn't explain a lot of things that are more updated than our previous campers. Upon getting the unit home and taking time to start turning things on and checking to see how everything worked we started finding all sorts of problems. Mind you my husband lives in his camper for work most of the year so we have to have it in working order. Upon calling the Lafayette location and asking for our sales man, Heath, all his response to the long list of issues was "I hate that"..... Seriously dude??? He puts us through to the service dept who would not answer nor return the NUMEROUS messages we left. After numerous calls and finally having to get ugly with the poor gal that answered the phone, she found someone to talk to us. They said it'd be a couple of weeks before they could get it in to fix what needed to be fixed on the BRAND NEW unit. That guy, Andy, finally put us in touch with the Bossier location and they got us in the next day and fixed the FIRST list of repairs except the molding that had to be ordered. Was told molding would be ordered that day and would let us know when it came in. 6 week later when husband comes home from his job, the automatic Jack/leveling system will not work and is stuck on the truck. Of course neither location will return calls once again. Finally get the bossier service manager on the phone and says bring it the next day. So I drive 2 1/2 hours to bring camper and was told it would be put in the shop THAT day because they j ew my husband had to have it back for work. A week later we have not heard from them. Finally again get someone to return calls oh to be told they have to wait on warranty approval before they can begin work. What?!?! You said it was going on the shop THAT DAY!!!!!! Also the molding that was "ordered", was not. So we were lied to, avoided and overall Camping World is the absolute WORST place to deal with. My attorney is already drafting a letter to them and they can shove this camper where the sun doesn't shine. So sick of dealing with them over a brand new, under warranty unit.

Camping World - Rv Warranty Review from Miami, Florida

Details
We purchased a 2016 39' Denali. Brand new in March 2016. We asked that the damaged wood in front of the sink be replaced. We left the trailer there for several weeks. We did our walk through and they had Not replaced the wood, they had secured it back in place. They said it just takes forever for warranty to approve. Which is a phrase they repeated over and over and over in the next few months. We said never mind! We'll just deal with it! After getting it home we realized the cabinets at each end of the kitchen slide out, wasn't out far enough for the cabinet doors to fully open. We thought the slide wasn't going out all the way. We took the trailer to them to check out. The next day they said it was fully extended and charged us 135.00 to do NOTHING but run the electric slide in and out a few times! INSANE!! Took the trailer home and continued to stock with items, and the first time we left the dinning slide out overnight it rained and leaked and flooded the living room dining room. Now keep in mind we have NEVER EVEN USED IT YET!!! They picked it up on June 29th and of course kept saying "warranty takes forever to approve " it's July 15th and nothing has been repaired yet!!!!! They never return phone calls. We had to call the manufacturer on July 7th who approved repairs immediately. I made another call on July 11th to see what progress had been made again had to leave a msg!! No return call again!! On July 12th I called the manufacturer and they said camping world didn't put the materials order in until July 11th!!!! And now the manufacturer is keeping tabs and expediting everything they can. The manufacturer has been superb!! We had a transport company paid for before the leak happened, that was to come July 10th to transport it 8 hrs away for a 4-6 week job we are going to go do. Well we lost $$ and the transport and will soon lose the job all because these people are either *** or epically enept!!! Buyer Beware of Camping World!! Once the Check clears they will gouge you in Service Department and just don't care anything about you!! Check the BBB!! 538 complaints in our region in 3 yrs!! Think about it... Nearly 15 complaints filed per month! And that's only those who took the time to file them! If you post a negative review on their FACEBOOK PAGE...THEY REMOVE IT!!! Seriously reconsider doing business with them! We will NEVER do it again!

Update by user Jul 13, 2016

Camping World did not go through the camper to make sure everything was connected properly. Many of the issues except air conditioner we appliance or outlets not connected.

Original review posted by user Jul 12, 2016

I bought a 2016 Heartland Prowler and once I got it, the air conditioner didn't work. Heartlands Policy is to wait for all warranty approvals prior to doing the work. It took one month to get my a/c replaced. The refrigerator only worked on propane.....tech checked it out when replacing a/c.....it was never plugged in. I went to use outside cable hookup....didn't work...after further investigation myself...it wasn't attached to cable...I was able to fix that....then I decided I better try water pump....nope...pumps water somewhere but not through the faucets. Was told the would come check it out as a courtesy...but next time would charge me for a service call. Are u kidding me....the water pump has not been used...it's a brand new camper!!!!!

Having the same problems with our BRAND NEW Heartland. Back AC keeps freezing up.

Automatic leveling/Jack system will not work. Quit working while still on the truck. Not to mention all the other problems. A lot of which are due to Camping World NOT checking everything out good before we brought it home.

Brought it in last Friday while my husband was home from work(he lives in this camper for his job). Supposed to be put directly in the shop that day per the service manager. Been a week haven't heard from them. Finally get them to call us back and try tell us try have to wait on the warranty stuff to be approved.

Wait?? What?? We bought this camper BRAND NEW the end of May!!!!! I'm just about ready to have my attorney get involved.

This is total bull *** with a BRAND NEW unit! And camping world people don't exactly tell the truth when dealing with them either.

That seems to be the go to answer from camping world. I spoke to Heartland and they told me camping world does not have to wait for approvals on warranty.

They also told me they process warranty approvals immediately. Camping world has very poor service.

Camping World in Roanoke, Virginia - Very poor sevice

I drove my RV to Camping World of Roanoke to get a waste pump fixed. At the service desk, they told me if I joined the Good Sam's Club, I would receive 25% off labor and parts. They said labor was $125 an hour, gezz, so I said OK and they escorted me to the front to buy a membership. So far so good; but that was the end of good!! The repair took 4 hours, but it was there over a month. They never returned my calls; you could say they had poor communication; but that would imply there was some communication, along the way. Finally, I got a call and it was ready-- great. I went out to pick it up and was presented with a bill that was about 36% over the estimate. Upon examination, I saw there was no promised discount of 25% anywhere, and I had been charged about $80 for a BS supply surcharge--this was not in the original estimate either. I questioned the person, and I could tell she was very uncomfortable about the bill. She stated that the computer made the decisions about the Good Sam's discounts, not her. She was the same person that sold me the membership and offered the 25% discount to start with; I guess the computer changed its and her mind. Exasperated, I asked for the keys and the RV. She gave me the keys and pointed down the road to a muddy unimproved grassy lot. I waded through 5 inches of mud to get the RV and initially got stuck. There was a full concrete curb I had to drive over to get out, which scrapped my undercarriage. One *** of a mess- adding insult to injury. After I cooled off for a couple of days, I called the service manager and left detailed messages 3 times; he never returned my call. So it looks like I made 2 mistakes--using Camping World and buying that membership. Now. I receive flyers from Camping World and Good Sam's on a regular basis; they just remind me of my horrible experience and raise my blood pressure!!!! Never Again.

Camping World - Review in Other category from Chicago, Illinois

Racism at Camping World of Chicago in Wauconda, Illinois? It's interesting that we even have to use the word "racism" in regards to our purchasing a new RV, Winnebago, Travato at Camping World of Chicago in Wauconda, Illinois. Unfortunately, our racial drama played out with the employees in the Finance, Parts and Service Department as well as the General Manager. To say the least, until this is dealt with on the level of the cause and not just effects, racism will continue to play out over and over at Camping World of Chicago in Wauconda, Illinois.

Stay away from Camping World off I-70 in Kansas City. Horrible customer service. Took our Minnie Winebago there for pre trip repair and maintenance. We waited two weeks for an appointment then they took another two weeks to "complete" the service. Shoddy work. They replaced a non working porch light. One day into our trip it failed to work. Upon our return they stated earliest they could take a look at it was three weeks out! I was appalled. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely. Never, ever going back!

Hidden fees at Camping World and Camping world of Roanoke Va.

Beware of $500 or $1000 hidden fees when you go to sign or write the check. When I ask for the amount to write the check for, since I wasn't financing the unit it was $600 more than the price I agreed to pay. I ask what that was for and they said administration fees. I said I wasn't paying $600 to fill out papers and did not buy the unit. My wife and I are older and drove over 1000 miles looking at R Vs finally decided this was what we wanted. Maybe they thought since we were older they could pull this off. I will not buy from Camping World, I will look to private owned RV dealers or individual owners, they tend to be more honest.

A joke of an establishment. Service is below any I've seen.

Butch Long the service manager is arrogant and abnoxious. I will avoid stopping here when I'm traveling in the future. The service team seems spent and over taxed. The service manager spoke awfully in front of me to those poor employees.

Will not be back. Should close the doors.

Butch is not only obnoxious and arrogant, is he also a liar. My husband is a veteran and its sad to see that way they treat veterans.
