Camping World in Meridian, Idaho - Service appointment not met - disrespectful employee

We had an appointment for 3 weeks to have warrenty work done on our RV. We were scheduled as a "waiter" and the issues would be addressed the same day. When we arrived we were told "sorry" but nothing could be done for several more days. We told them we came several hundred miles out of our way and waited 2 days to make the scheduled appointment. At this time an employee started to laugh about our situation. We were told again "sorry" but nothing could be done and we were free to go somewhere else. This simple task turned into a riduculous situation. Although the service employess were pleasant to our faces we heard them talking disrespectully behind our backs...totally unprofessional! I will NEVER go to this shop again and would suggest that nobody else should either.

Camping World in Richardson, Texas - Hidden freight delivery costs

5.0
Details
"Additional" Fed Ex freight delivery charge of $117.00 was not made clear by Camping Word for an on-line order of an RV recliner chair that weighed 49 lbs. The shipping charge indicated on the site was $55.00 and was paid for at the time the order was placed. Fed Ex charged the additional freight lift gate fee several weeks after the chair was delivered. Camping World Customer service representative was not helpful and told me to hash it out with the shipping company but provided no clue as to how Camping World could not have known of the extra costs. The total shipping was $172.00. This Camping World customer service representative also told me that I should not pay the bill because they do not ever use Fed Ex and that because I signed for it then I was liable.

We have four kids who Camping World has taken thousands upon thousands of dollars from. When we bought our brand spanking new Mallard M33 on June 24, 2016 from the dealer in Byron, GA, these kids were ECSTATIC. They were willing to forego an inground pool to get a...

We went to Camping World to look at travel trailers and 5th wheels. We knew pretty much what we wanted and knew about how much we could spend and like most it depended on what payments were. I had prices from other dealers on rv's we liked but wanted to see since such a large operation they could and I quote salesman, that they get much better prices from MFG. due to volume. I told them that I had been a General Manager of a GM dealership for 20 + years and had worked my way up from sales to finance director to GM so I pretty much know how all the sale and finance work. Found one that had what we wanted he sat us in an office ask for name address etc,NO ss# which I would not have given anyway and quoted a payment that would have us paying back 68,400.00 on a 32,000.00 with 20% dn,REALLY! I told you going in not to **** with me and you did it anyway then look at me after I ask you to SHOW me the figures and you asked what kind of payment did you want! I want to see the bottom line numbers. He said well you need to let me know what payment you wanted and I said well I told you not that payment and he gave me this deer in the headlight look. We got up and he just said well let me know if I can help you and we WALKED!! I hope the GM who introduced himself when we came in reads this and scratch his head as to why his sales reviews are so bad and if he wants to know how to make more money and not get millions in chargebacks, look me up. We left and bought at a small dealer that did not blow me out by trying to load my payment up to max profit and explained the bottom line before he entered into computer,no hidden fees, outrageous interest rate and ext. warranty. I think of all the folks they have barried in rv's on backend and how they could be a good dealer if they would stop the BS old school way. They have what I call order takers with no product knowledge and a nasty underhanded way to rip folks off. Poor training, poor sales people and the biggest blame goes to POOR MANAGEMENT which is where it starts. I would clean house find sales people through screening and not let them with customers without thorough training. Hey mr GM ever heard of 4 square payment presentation?? you can start there but you have to have strong sales force and involved managers and good honest customer service. I know that some buyers have credit issues and don't tell you but show them what different credit scores will get you and most of the time they'll confess their problems if they have any, don't insult them by assuming treat everyone as if there are no issues. By the way we are a 768 score,SEE YA

Camping World in Caldwell, Idaho - Selling used as new.

We bought what we thought was a new motorhome with the dealerships disclosure that the miles on the unit were only those miles from the factory to the dealership, which was not true. As I found out when I did a check of the actual mileage from the manufacturing plant to the dealership, I discovered the unit had an extra 750 miles or so on it. When I approached them about it I found out the home was sent clear across the State of Idaho to show another potential customer. So far I've gotten no where with them when it comes to compensating us for selling us a demo unit. Will follow up if something happens.

So, so disappointed in the service dept. in both the Lafayette and Bossier City locations. Purchased a BRAND new 2016 Heartland the end of May. The guy did our walk through in quite a hurry and didn't explain a lot of things that are more updated than our previous campers. Upon getting the unit home and taking time to start turning things on and checking to see how everything worked we started finding all sorts of problems. Mind you my husband lives in his camper for work most of the year so we have to have it in working order. Upon calling the Lafayette location and asking for our sales man, Heath, all his response to the long list of issues was "I hate that"..... Seriously dude??? He puts us through to the service dept who would not answer nor return the NUMEROUS messages we left. After numerous calls and finally having to get ugly with the poor gal that answered the phone, she found someone to talk to us. They said it'd be a couple of weeks before they could get it in to fix what needed to be fixed on the BRAND NEW unit. That guy, Andy, finally put us in touch with the Bossier location and they got us in the next day and fixed the FIRST list of repairs except the molding that had to be ordered. Was told molding would be ordered that day and would let us know when it came in. 6 week later when husband comes home from his job, the automatic Jack/leveling system will not work and is stuck on the truck. Of course neither location will return calls once again. Finally get the bossier service manager on the phone and says bring it the next day. So I drive 2 1/2 hours to bring camper and was told it would be put in the shop THAT day because they j ew my husband had to have it back for work. A week later we have not heard from them. Finally again get someone to return calls oh to be told they have to wait on warranty approval before they can begin work. What?!?! You said it was going on the shop THAT DAY!!!!!! Also the molding that was "ordered", was not. So we were lied to, avoided and overall Camping World is the absolute WORST place to deal with. My attorney is already drafting a letter to them and they can shove this camper where the sun doesn't shine. So sick of dealing with them over a brand new, under warranty unit.

Camping World - Rv Warranty Review from Miami, Florida

We purchased a 2016 39' Denali. Brand new in March 2016. We asked that the damaged wood in front of the sink be replaced. We left the trailer there for several weeks. We did our walk through and they had Not replaced the wood, they had secured it back in place. They said it just takes forever for warranty to approve. Which is a phrase they repeated over and over and over in the next few months. We said never mind! We'll just deal with it! After getting it home we realized the cabinets at each end of the kitchen slide out, wasn't out far enough for the cabinet doors to fully open. We thought the slide wasn't going out all the way. We took the trailer to them to check out. The next day they said it was fully extended and charged us 135.00 to do NOTHING but run the electric slide in and out a few times! INSANE!! Took the trailer home and continued to stock with items, and the first time we left the dinning slide out overnight it rained and leaked and flooded the living room dining room. Now keep in mind we have NEVER EVEN USED IT YET!!! They picked it up on June 29th and of course kept saying "warranty takes forever to approve " it's July 15th and nothing has been repaired yet!!!!! They never return phone calls. We had to call the manufacturer on July 7th who approved repairs immediately. I made another call on July 11th to see what progress had been made again had to leave a msg!! No return call again!! On July 12th I called the manufacturer and they said camping world didn't put the materials order in until July 11th!!!! And now the manufacturer is keeping tabs and expediting everything they can. The manufacturer has been superb!! We had a transport company paid for before the leak happened, that was to come July 10th to transport it 8 hrs away for a 4-6 week job we are going to go do. Well we lost $$ and the transport and will soon lose the job all because these people are either *** or epically enept!!! Buyer Beware of Camping World!! Once the Check clears they will gouge you in Service Department and just don't care anything about you!! Check the BBB!! 538 complaints in our region in 3 yrs!! Think about it... Nearly 15 complaints filed per month! And that's only those who took the time to file them! If you post a negative review on their FACEBOOK PAGE...THEY REMOVE IT!!! Seriously reconsider doing business with them! We will NEVER do it again!
