Camping World Trade-in Review from Dacono, Colorado

1.0
Details
Camping World in Longmont, CO has my motor home on consignment. I was told I would get high $50's when it sells, they advertised at just under $90,000. I was told the average sell time was under 21 days and that my rig was exceptionally nice/clean but they have had it for over 2 months. I have left phone messages for two different people in the consignment dept and they won't return my calls. Their corporate office will get a phone call tomorrow and then the BBB!

Camping World Jacksonville - DRIVE FURTHER

3.0
Details
We bought our RV last year at Camping World Jacksonville,FL the sales person was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately I can not say the same for the service department. We have been currently living in our RV because my husband is in the military. Our AC unit went out. We called them on a Wednesday and was told bring down on Saturday. "We will take a look at it and fix it for you because of your circumstances." Well that did NOT happen. The RV was taken down on Saturday, and we learned that they would not be taking at look at it because they only had a Skeleton Crew. But it would be fixed on Monday because they had a truck coming in with AC units. Monday afternoon we called them, and we were told "oh no" it has to be approved for the warranty. On Tuesday we were told it will be "3 more days." 10 days! We have had to stay in a hotel, and have already paid the RV park to stay. Each time we call them no one seems to know what is going on. I hope that we do NOT have to use them for anything in the future!

Camping World in Rockmart, Georgia - Poor customer service - Oxford Al.

I've had my 2016 camper in twice since I bought it in January. The service department just treats you like you are a problem for them. I was actually told that the reason that warranty work took so long is because Camping World will not accept the initial repair order from the mfg. They try to negotiate more time based on what they think the repair will cost versus what the actual mfg says. Who do you think pays the price, it's the customer. I think the mfg should look at who is selling their product. Camping World would be out of business if consumers had more choices as to where they could buy a camper.

Camping World in Meridian, Idaho - Pretty disgusted

Update by user Jul 28, 2016

Magically, an hour after I lodged a formal complaint with Camping World Corporate office, I received a call from my service rep saying that the parts had just arrived! Coincidence?

Probably not, but I took the trailer in this morning for the repair and they were done in under 30 mins with no additional cost. I still feel I was overcharged for time and some 'shop supplies', but the time today was covered by the insurance replacement of the of the items.

I still have a note into CW, about a possible refund. Since they have the best camping supply store in the valley, I will be back there, but don't see myself the service department again.

Pretty disgusted with Camping World, Meridian, ID. I took our trailer in for a new plug cord - pigtail between trailer and truck - we squished it and cut a wire inside, our fault ($40 part and $128 installation - a whole hour - really??). A repair of the air conditioner - incorrect install by the factory (come on Forest River!!) - but since we are the 2nd owner of a 2015 we had to pay for that (ok, maybe an hour total to diagnose and fix, but how much of the $116 'shop supplies' was the tape they said they put on it to fix it? And how many 'shop supplies' were needed when the sway bar and pigtail came with their own parts??), and installation of an anti-sway bar (again - a whole hour - really??) for a grand total, wait for it - $650!!! That is not a typo!! $384 in labor - that is not a typo either. $128 per hour labor - 3 hours seems excessive for the things that were done. They were quite eager to tell me that our insurance would cover the replacement of a charging station - but it still hasn't come in yet (I have, however been charged the deductible), and one of the biggies - the front electric stabilizer legs quit working (they say it's a switch, so the insurance won't cover) and they don't know when the part will be in. They had it 3 weeks, and it has now been another 2 weeks! I asked when exactly these parts were ordered, and the service guy, Kenny C, can't seem to give me an order date - he will just 'call me when they come in'. Camping World won't have my business again. Randi Lansford, email randilansford@gmail if you care to try to repair your credibility.

The corporate headquarters, after 6 weeks of calls, refuses to speak directly to my us, instead sends form letters. Outrageous! I will not check the box below re contacted my CW. Trust me, no one will return your call if it's a complaint .

Camping World in Flagstaff, Arizona - Bait and switch

Just had the most awful experience one could ever have. I bought a new camper back in 2015. after the purchase it was discovered that several things were needing repaired under warranty. Took the unit back to where I purchased it, at Camping World in Bellmont, Az. and left it for repairs. After having it for more than 3 months it was finally done, or so I thought. The first time I took it out i discovered that several more things were not working. These items worked when I originally left it for repairs. Now they are telling me it will take more than a month to make these repairs. I went to see the manager and explained that I do not think that this is right and they need to take it back in trade. He was agreeable and we sat down with a sales per and negotiated a deal that I could live with. I have just found out that the deal I negotiated was not what was submitted to the bank. When confronted with that problem, the sales person and the manager both stated that they had to change the figures as they did not have the correct payoff for the old unit. I explained that that was not possible as I gave them the payoff when we were discussing the deal, and I was sure that it was correct as I had just gotten it from my phone. Turns out that that the deal they sent to the bank had a payment that was $100.00 a month more than the negotiated deal. They were very rude and not willing to discuss this matter at all. I am so disgusted this deal that I will never go back to that dealer, and I intend to take this matter matter up the chain. All customers should be aware of this as I am sure that this is not the first time that they have done this.

Do not bother taking it up with the chain. I contacted Starcraft about my new 2016 camper which has had problems since I purchased it. They do not care that their dealers will not or can not fulfill the warranty obligation.

To date nothing has been resolved. I was told, after contacting the main customer service number, that some one from the leadership team would be contacting me. That has not happened.

My camper has been sitting at Camping World now for 2 months and still not repaired nor any resolution towards replacing it.

Camping World in Arlington, Washington - Junk

I also purchased a 2017 in July 2016. On the way home the roof peeled back. When we brought it to Camping Worlds attention they told us it was under warranty. We had planned a vacation with our grandchildren but we have no camper it is waiting for warranty work, they also suggested that we use it like that. They obviously don't care about our safety or the safety of others. That business and the CEO Marcus Lemonis is a joke it all about the money and the *** with the customers that trust that the business is doing the right thing and selling them a good product. I swear they purchase defected products cheap and sell them for a prime price. (that's what I call greed) and I think that the people that are doing that should be ashamed of themselves and they should find it hard to sleep at night.

Camping World in Enterprise, Alabama - Dometic A/C Warranty repair- 30 dayto for a 3-5 day repair

Took my unit to Camping World Dothan, Al for a warranty issue on my Dometic A/C unit. Was told it would be a 3-5 day fix. 3 weeks later I finally got my unit back. Was told that they had a new warranty person and that they were learning. 2nd week was told that Dometic needed more info on my unit. 3rd week was told that the A/C had been on order almost a month. Finally they took a unit from their stock to put on my camper after 3 weeks of waiting. Camping World service department leaves alot to be desired. The only problem is they were the only shop in my area authorized to do Dometic Warranty repair. Would not go back to them on a dare.
