Camping World - Rv Repair Review from Bicknell, Utah

I had a new roof air unit put on my motorhome. The "best techs" in the business were assigned. After three hours of a simple replacement they informed me that entire motorhome needed to be rewired. I ended up, much to their chagrin, going out and wiring the unit myself! Then I noticed that they had plugged the coach into their 110 shop outlet with a number 18 light weight extension cord. It kept blowing the breaker. I told the tech to pick up the cord and use my 30 amp cord. He burned his hand on his light weight extension. When I informed the shop manager of his "best techs" stupidity, he just shined it off. After I did all the work in their shop, I was still allowed to pay the full installation price for the simple replace the of a roof air unit. Same model- same brand! Not a real testament to their skills. I will never use these clowns again!

Camping World in La Cygne, Kansas - A poor exuse for a "service department"

Camping World - A poor exuse for a "service department"
I bought a new camper back in June. we noticed on our first trip. (luckily it was raining) a leak in the skylight above the shower. When I called in to report this leak and set up the repair. This was a factory defect that I was able to temp fix it until I could get it dropped off. I received a call from the dealership saying that the lot had been broken into a month after the unit had been dropped off and that I would be notified if my camper had been affected. I received no further call. I finally call them 6 weeks after it had been dropped off and "parts were still on order" I demanded that the unit be fixed and low and behold, it was "fixed" that day. I then made arrangements to pick my camper up. I showed up to the dealership and the "service writer" (I use this term loosely) said that all work was done, handed the porter a post it note with my unit number and then went about his business. Mind you, I was the only customer there, the camper was dropped off in the parking lot and I was left to hook it up myself. The doors were locked and I didn't have my key with me. At this point, I was so disgusted with the "service" that I hooked up the camper and tore out of there. When I arrived home and unlocked the camper, there were several cabinet doors open and the *** TV was missing. I called the service manager first thing this morning and rather than offering to replace my TV, he gave me the run around that Camping World was not responsible for the missing items and offered the phone number for the local police dept. attached is a photo. If you opened this camper and saw this, wouldn't you contact the customer to let them know? Camping World, I hope someone from your company reads this because you all, at least your KC store, are pathetic.

Camping world Calera

Details
We called Camping World of Calera to have some warranty work done to our Forest River Wildcat. When I called they told me they I could bring it down there in two weeks. I was fine with that and waited two weeks and brought it down that morning of July 30/2016. There were a couple people in front of me and I waited until it was my turn. I gave them a list of problems we had with our 5th wheel about 12 in all. Everything from broken hinges to fresh water not registering on the meter to the awning separating. The service advisor told me he would be on vacation the following week but assured me they would be working on my camper while he was gone. So I left it there for the first week and waited until the following Tuesday to call him and see how it was going. I was told everything was going well and that they were still looking at it. I said ok and waited again and called back that Friday to see if everything was getting done. I was told they ordered the parts and that 3 of the things they could not find anything wrong with. So I explained to them where they problem was and they said ok I will go out right now and take a look at it. Well another week goes by and I call to see if the parts have come in and they tell me no not yet. So I decide to call Forest River to find out that the delay is. Forest River informs me that no parts have been ordered for my camper. I call Camping world back and I’m told they will call me back. That was on a Tuesday. I never hear anything back so I call everyday that week and get the same response that someone will call me back. I can say with all the calls I have made they might have called me back twice. Well they finally order my parts three weeks after I bring it in. ( I find out later that they didn’t ever look at my camper until the Thursday. Why make an appointment for Saturday and keep it 5 days before even looking at it.) So I finally get the service manager at Camping World and its just a nightmare. Excuse after excuse not taking ownership for any of it. The parts are on order now he tells me. I said I was told that before and they straight out lied to me. So now I call Forest River and they tell me everything is in except the window and awning and that it will go out right away. Well I guess right away means when ever they get to it because I have been calling they now trying to find out when they will ship my parts. At first they said they had everything but then changed there mind and said they were waiting on a part. When I questioned them on it and said you told me it was in last week he checked and said oh yes it is in we will get this out today. Well today was 6 days ago. He said call me tomorrow and I’ll give you the tracking info on it. Well I have called everyday last week and got the same thing. Call me back tomorrow and I’ll have it for you. After talking to the Parts manager at Forest River I finally got informed that they are shipping everything except the awning and window today and gave me that tracking info. They have had my 5th wheel for over 6 weeks now and by the time they get the parts it will be Friday or Monday and then they have to install them I will be looking at 2 months that they have had my camper. My wife would like to know who is going to make the 2 months worth of payments because we have not had the camper. I’m at my wits ends not sure what way to turn on this hole thing. The sad part is even when we get it back next week I will still have to bring it back for the window and awning.

Went into the store in Rodgers to make an exchange on a $7 light needed red and purchased orange. couldn't find my receipt and they would not allow me to exchange. Shocked what store doesn't allow exchanges and he told me who looses there receipt. My first purchase and my last. Also the vent I had purchased was dented and they did nothing. Poorly run store and horrible customer service

Camping World - Rv Repair Review from Rocklin, California

Anderson Camping World is a major rip-off! We brought our coach and to have some repairs done to it, and they ended up charging us $2,300 for doing almost nothing, and held our coach captive for three weeks. As it is an older coach, we had their 45 point inspection, which is only 43 points, and they failed to do 13 of the points on their list. Then they turned around and double charged me for an LP inspection, which is included in their 45-point insect inspection, they charged me an additional $65 for checking the suspension which is also part of the inspection, and $100 for an exterior inspection which is part of their 45 point inspection. They also informed me that I needed a new refrigerator at the tune of $1,300 which I did not need, and an air conditioner on the roof which they said did not work which does blow cold air. Along with all of that they said that my water heater tank has a leak, and that my furnace did not work. Their service manager said he did not have time to go through all the details with me, and has said that he is going to send me a refund of around $170. I'll believe it when I see it. I will never take anything of mine to Camping World ever again. Avoid this place, and all other Camping Worlds like the plague.

Camping World - Rv Repair Review from Orange, California

I will never walk in camping world again! I've never been so disgusted with a service dept in my life! I needed a repair done to my toilet which I took into the service dept and theyREFUSED to repair it because they couldn't guarantee it forever! Give me a frigging break. It was a $15.00 part which they happily sold me but would NOT install it! I explained that I needed it repaired because I was living in the rv and I certainly didn't need or want a guarantee! What a bunch of jerks. Even the parts man who sold me the replacement part was totally dismayed! This company is a total farce... All abt selling the $200.00 toilet rather than the $15.00 part. They don't deserve your business or mine...please share the comments with your rving friends!

Camper world will find any way possible to take your money and then some. After paying nearly 2k in "paper work" fees, we get our license plate with just a temporary tag. They couldn't even pay the $150 for the 1 year tag. So far I have recommended 2 of my coworkers not to deal with camper world.

Camping World Service issues

Purchased a new THOR Class C RV 2017 model. Took it in for service after out first trip to the Wentzville Mo facility. I was there for 8-weeks and a day. Set up another Service visit the following week. This next go around is for some of the same issues; now 2-weeks and a couple of days. I was contacted to pick up our RV on 8/31 as it was ready from this current visit. Checked all before we left this time. Still had the leveling jacks not working. Still there today. I made my purchase on May 27th and Camping World has had our unit for over 10-weeks. During a very heated conversation with the General Manager I was told that with my temperament I was probably not a good prospect as an RVer. I really haven't had the chance to try. Don

Camping World in Moses Lake, Washington - Lesson learnt hard way

Lesson not learnt, last year (2015) we purchased full service plan including generator service, after completed work tested generator and it wouldn't start; called CW and they advised not enough gas in rv to test (1/4 or more). Asked why didn't they tell me that when I was at the store, live 100 miles from shop. So in 2016, we returned for more rv issues to fix, get generator to work, roof and body re sealing of joints cause of leaks, replace ac cover, fix a plumbing leak. What was to take 4 days took over two weeks. When we picked up the rv the generator wouldn't start, they left water pump on and drained batteries. It took over an hour to get started and they charged me again for generator service. We were leaving next day for summer trip so no time to test joint sealing job, when we reached our destination and had our first rain storm it poured water in the rv. As I checked the sealing job closely found a two plus inch area with no caulking, I had to fix myself. After spending two thousand plus dollars at this store, I will never return!!
