Camping World - Rv Review from Noblesville, Indiana

1.8
Details
I made a purchase in the London Ohio store. I was sold an extended warranty that when I tried to use it they denied the claim because it was a used trailer and would not fix anything wrong on my camper. They told me manufacturer warranty only covered items for a year. I told them I bought extended warranty not manufacturer warranty the only thing they would do is give my money back for the warranty. Refused to cover anything on my camper and would not take the camper back. I would never buy another camper from Camping World or send any friends that way.

Do not shop at this place!! Found a brand new 2016 Jayco 325BQHS Fifthwheel that the camping world in Gulf Breeze had marked down, I contacted the dealer had everything set to purchase (loan, insurance, deposit) and a appointment for a Saturday pickup. Got to the dealership and made contact with the salesperson (Tiffany) that I had been dealing with and she led us to the RV it was sitting all closed up, she unlocked the door and when she went to pull the steps down they were stuck, I even tried and couldn't budge them so she went to get a service guy! Started walking around outside Rv and found all kinds of problems. After finally being able to get inside found white sticky marks on the floor, saw dust on the bunkhouse beds and frame rales, plus more dust and dirt in the upstairs bedroom, bathroom, the carpet very looked dirty. I asked the sales girl if this unit had been cleaned and she stated yes ? I then asked if this was a demo or new and she said all of their units were demo's ! I Started looking more and found rust in the stainless steel sink, then after looking in one of the cabinets found a large bubble in the floor and you could see daylight from the outside where the wall met! She Tiffany left to go get help! I then went up on the roof and it was completely dirty and had been very poorly recaulked! The Floor manager Anthony showed up and asked what the problem was and then he had the nerve to ask me if we were closing on this unit cause he had another one in an hour! I asked him to climb up on the roof and look which he did and said everything was normal and factory done, told him that was a lie! After that he left and then the general manager came out and asked about us buying the unit, after showing him the problems plus the mold behind the caulking on the rear of the trailer, I told him thanks but no thanks! His attitude was the same as his floor manager! I do not recommend this dealership to anyone !

Got a install price of approx. $50.00 to install a LED strip light on my motorhome. made an appointment on the 11th of August to have the work done. Once the motorhome was in the shop The salesperson approached me and stated that they had the wrong price due to the work to be done. Showed me a price of 129.00. I very reluctantly agreed to that price. While the work was being done I had to instruct the mechanic on how to install the light, and wire it. When the work was done, I was given a bill for $199.00 instead. When questioned the clerk said "oh I forgot to tell you that the second bill was in addition to the first bill". I was so mad that I paid the bill and left. Have emailed camping world twice and called them 4 times. No Return calls. This for a light that cost approx. $110.00 NJ Consumer Affairs is next.

We will start from the beginning, we were out on a Sunday, all of the dealers were closed except Camping World. We have heard form others to avoid them, but we had free time and thought we would at least look a few trailers to get an idea of what we wanted in our next R.V. The salesman takes us out on the lot, seemed hesitant to do so, never asked us about income or credit. Just started making a few comments about how we would probably need 30% down and he wanted to only show us low end units. We said we wanted 30ft plus and needed a few amenities. He continued to make negative comments about our ability to obtain financing. (again, never asked us any personal info) We would have left after a few minutes of his negativity, but we ran across the perfect 5th wheel for us. He said we would not be able to buy it and that everyone he had tried to sell that one to could not get credit. This was a used unit, just under 50k and just as nice and similar t a couple of 90k plus units we walked to and looked at ourselves when he didn't want to show them. He kept pushing us towards sub-30k small trailers. We convinced him to give us a buyers order with the units info. On the ride home we both agreed we rally would not go back there except we found a great 42ft 5th wheel toy hauler at a great steal once we looked up NADA value. Anyway, did an online app with our credit union, the next morning they approved us with no money down full financing. We went to a branch, picked up the draft and headed to Camping World. Salesman acted shocked, we did all the paperwork and scheduled the walk thru date. They wanted a delivery date set for immediately after the walk thru, said once sold it needed to leave their lot ASAP. I found this odd, but made arrangements anyway. Now the fun begins, go there on a Friday afternoon to do the walk thru. This is a brand new facility they just built. Previously they had been in a very small place on the other side of the highway and did not even sell trailers, only service and parts. This is a 42ft unit with 2 a.c.'s and of course 50mp service. The gentleman doing the walk thru told me they only have 30 amp service on the lot and would not be able to demo the a.c. units, but promised me they were checked out an worked just fine. He did a nice thorough coverage of all of the items outside of the rig. Inside, except for being hot and no a.c., my only disappointment was he told me how the electric bunk beds worked, but did not want to pull the travel locks to demonstrate them. Ther were 5 issues that needed to be addressed. The first was a broken drawer handle that the salesman said they would fix. When I did the walk thru, I looked at that drawer, it appeared the handle had been repaired so I did not say anything to the man doing the walk thru. During the walk thru we found one clip outside that holds a storage door open that needed to be replaced. The travel lock on the shower door was broken. The automatic vent in the living area was turned off and you need a step ladder to reach it. And the skylight above the shower was broken. Both inner and outer parts. He said he would write down those 4 things after we were done, he didn't have a pen or paper with him. Unit was delivered to our house Monday, the delivery guy (NOT a Camping World employee) was super nice and even show me some interesting things on the outside of my RV that were not covered in the walk thru. Only issue with the delivery was that the sewage tank had been left open and the cap was not on and when he was backing into our side yard at an angle, raw sewage came out. I can only imagine what is was like to be driving behind this when he was coming up the interstate, (Yuck!) After he left, I opened it up and checked out a few things. Yes, the auto vent had been turned on. Yes, the clip had been replaced for the storage door. No, the sky light had not been repaired. No, the shower travel lock had not been replaced. Wife got home, (she was not present for walk thru, walk thru hours were only available during her work hours) She went inside, went to open the drawers and found that the one that had been broken and I thought was fixed, they merely had turned the broken pieces towards each other and made it appear as one piece. I called the store about the items, they said they were on order and we would be contacted as soon as they were in, should be by end of the week. About 2 weeks later we happened to be driving near Camping World and dropped in to check on the parts. Service told us we had to check with parts dept. but they were not open at that time. We went to speak to our salesman, He was off that day so we asked to speak to a Sales Manager, they were all busy but one of them would call us. Less than 2 weeks later we stopped by again, went to parts dept. they said it was a service issue and that Service would have the part order info. But no one was available in Service at that time. We went up front to talk to our salesman, but he was no longer there. They told us he was only seasonal and would return in the fall. Once again we asked to speak with a Sales Manager, after over 30 minutes of waiting the receptionist asked if she could just have them call us. We said fine, left our information again and left. The following weekend we went there again (this is a 70 mile round trip for us each time) We did not even attempt to talk to Parts or Service, just asked for a Sales Mgr, this time we spoke to one. He was not very cordial, but did listen to us and said he would get to the bottom of it and contact us. That was over 2 months ago. We have heard nothing, we have called and left messages but no one calls us back. I almost forgot to add this...since they were not able to turn on a.c. units during walk thru and I took there word that they had been checked out, that was a mistake on our part. Once the unit was moved to a resort and plugged into 50amp, the center a.c. unit has a bad vibration and rattles items in the RV when running. So I guess they got the last laugh on that.

This is why you NEVER buy anything like this, even new, until everything has been tested to your satisfaction and repairs have been made to your satisfaction. If they can't demonstrate something like these people said, it is time to walk away.

Same goes for buying a used car.

Camping World in Byron, Georgia - Horrible, Just Horrible

We purchased a 2016 Jayco Flight SLX 154BH in April 2016, have had nothing but problems with it, the biggest being it leaks EVERWHERE. Main window, antenna, kitchen and bathroom, kitchen faucet leaks. Boards under bunk beds broke, boards under main bed broke and the battery never held a charge. Well let me backup first of all when we found out the camper was leaking never a good sign, we were going to trade it in on a bigger camper, and our salesperson had told us what our payment would be, the down payment like we had already been approved, they pulled the camper back for cleaning and everything, so we went to Walmart and bought 2 TVs an 2 swivel stands for mounting in the new unit, we were there for 6 hours and finally were told no one would approve us for the new loan, that's fine but why take 6 hours of your day, this should have been done in a couple of hours. So then we speak to the service department gave them a full list of items to be fixed on our unit and was told by the service department that they would mount one of the TVs in our unit for free, so that was all good, now back to the original story, the camper was in the shop for 5 weeks and we could never get anyone on the phone from the service department except one time, spoke with a lady one day and she was like all I can do is take down your number and have Jennifer call you back because she said she could not even find us in the system??? WHAT??? NO CALL BACK. So finally my husband actually got someone on the phone going on 5th week they said the camper was fixed but could not locate our TVs, then he got a call back beginning this week and was told TV's had been found, so we said good we will be there Saturday to pick it up, Guess What, got there Saturday, Battery was still not fixed and no sign of the TV's. They had mounted them in the unit we were going to trade in for and sold it to someone. We were there for 4 hours again. They did replace our TV's with some from their store. We should have been able to go in and pick the camper up and out within an hour. We have the worse experience every time we have to go to this business. Very disorganized.

Camping World in Southport, North Carolina - FALSE ADVERTISING

We were in the market for a new Motor home. Camping world in Marion NC advertised the exact one that my wife and I were looking for. I called to talk to a sales person and the guy I was able to talk with knew what he was talking about. I worked out a issue or 2 with him on the unit we decided we wanted. We drove 6 hours 360 miles and spent the night at the Walmart campground just about 8 miles from Tom Johnson Camping world of Marion NC. We had it set up to meet the sales guy Keven Rice at 9 AM. They open at 8Am so we went at 8. We meet with the sales guy as planed. They did a trade in allowance on our motor home and then showed us the price. They uped the price of their motor home by $3000.00 and lowed balled me on mine by over $6000.00. Keith did not want us to be upset so he went and got his manager. His manager or a fellow claiming to be the manager approached us all puffed up and loud and in a threatning tone asked us how much money did I expect him to lose in this transaction. He stood and said his unit was new and next month ours would be worth even less. He said the internet was not our friend and said he was tired of people expecting him to lose money on units! He again said in a loud threatening voice how much money do you expect me to lose! I replied I drove 360 miles based on an advertised price that you put on the internet and that is what I expect you to honor. He replied a loud voice again I not loosing that much money we got up and left.

Camping World - 2016 Jayco Jay Feather Rv Review from Lexington, Kentucky

Update by user Aug 29, 2016

I would also like to add that after hearing the key issue being somewhat resolved. I proceeded to pur chase accessories for the new camper.

When when attempting to put sheets on the mattress it was revealed that the Queen Denver Pillowtop mattress was also removed and now there is melted plastic with a bit of foam covered in a brown bag put in the place of the mattress.

Of course when I attempt to try to resolve this new issue. I was left a voice message by the sales manager stating that the technicIan that completed the walk through doesn't work weekends and he will have to check on it Monday 8/29/16.

Myself and my husbamd just purchased our first brand new TT. Worst experience ever from start to finish. After making an appointment over a day in advance for the walk through. We stand outside in the heat for 3 hours waiting for the walk through. Aftrr walk through we wait an addition hour and more to sign the papers. Papers are signed yeah ready to go. Except no one has keys to the brand new TT was told they would be mailed. As well as when starting to pull off asked husband to xheck the back just incase... GOOD THING chairs not strapped down. Chairs at dinnet table not strapped down and the 80 gallon fresh water tank WAS NOT DRAINED. It is now night time and pouring rain and storms but thats ok well add an addition 795 lbs to this customer and not increase their tire pressure.. Following day.. today called spoke to manager was advised we left before locks could be changed. I informed him we didnt lrave until 8pm and nothing was said about the locks being changed so he advised instead of us driving the TT 2 hours back he would mail us locks for the doors. . So feeling excited about the issues being resolved i go and purchance new items for the new camper. Purchase sheets blankets rugs etc.. and well go to take plastic off matress.. and yeah .... no matress. However in its place is some melted plastic with a pad on each side. And well it should be a queen size Denver Matress. And its NOT.. now what? Will never recommend Camping World Greenwood Indiana

Camping world 1495.00 rip off

My husband and I bought a used motorhome from Camping world Lake City,Fl. When my husband left with it there was not even enough diesel to get home a hundred miles away. Parked it in driveway was loading it following week when back air conditioner went out. Called mobile repairman Will cost around 600.00 to fix. Called camping world general manager said he would have the shop manager call me right back that they needed to get it fixed. Three hours later they called my husband on his cell phone and was giving him the run around. I got on the phone it was the salesman he had the general manager and shop manager there. They wanted us to return it two hours away leave it and they would decide what the problem was and they would *** 30% of whatever they wanted to charge us. I have a 300.00 dollar gift card to camping world and when that is gone I will never do business with them again. I don't know what the 1495.00 was for as it was filthy when we got it. Lots of receptacles did not work. The black and grey tanks were nasty. They obviously did nothing.jazijup
