Camping World - Rv Review from Marietta, Georgia

Camping World Woodstock Ga. Purchased a new unit and wheel fell off within 70 miles. Severed at the lug nuts. Thanks to Jesus no innoncent person was hurt nor my family. Two months later, they still have the new unit with one excuse after the other. So much for a happy experience for my 11 year old son. I have never been treated this way by any business. I know the founder of Camping World would not approve. Ben F. Smith

Why do you think that. If he cared, things like this wouldn't happen.

Another screwed over Camping World customer.

You are so right. David Garvin, Camping World's founder, was a gentleman and would never allow his customers to be treated poorly. Marcus Lemonis on the other hand only cares about his person fortune.

Would you believe this, because it happened. It took four times to get my refrigerator fixed , on the third time they told me they were going to put a new cooling unit in instead they put a used one in hoping I would not find out,but I did so i called the service and the general manager raised *** for putting a used refrigerator in. The next day they came to my house with a new one this was supposably under warranty. I called Dometic and told them the story and come to find out it was not the warranty refrigerator. Dometic was super helpful with me , they got me a refrigerator that's got a two year warranty. I will never use camping world service department in Robertsdale Al again. I got more but I think yall get the picture.

Disappointing

We bought our first travel trailer from Camping World outside of Rapid City SD. Our sales person was nice but not extremely knowledgable. We told them we were newbies to the travel trailer. They claimed we would get a walk thru prior to taking it home. Guess what. That walk thru person was new. So we struggled thru that. Our hauling vehicle also needed a brake system installed prior to leaving with trailer. They couldn't find the harness on our vehicle. What! We were clueless. Instead of the employee calling the dealership we left without trailer. Drove to dealership who show location. Made a second appt to pick up trailer. Arrived and employees stated they were extremely busy because of storm the night before. Sorry not my fault we had an appt but it took over an hour. We asked for another walk thru and were given dirty look. Again we get the same new guy and by his body language he was done with us. They didn't have in stock a drop down hitch but we could wait another 45 mins for the parts guy to drop one off at store. We just bought something close to what we needed. So after that disappointing situation I would not recommend this place.

Horrible service

I delivered my RV for my agreed upon appointment on 5/19/15. I had leakey a air bag and wore out king pins. All were covered by extended warranty. The repairs were promised to be complete by 6/1/15. I received a call on 5/19 from the tech asking me what the problem was. I told him to refer to the work order. After waiting patiently for two months, I called 7/20/15 to inquirer about what was going on. The service writer told me that the work order was at the techs station and he would call me 7/21 by 1:30 p.m.. I did not receive a call. 7/23 I emailed CW corporate about my complaints and concerns and the next day I received a call from Kevin Hicks the service manager. He told me that he would take care of everything and since I was out of town the next week I should call him when I got back into town. I phoned him on 8/3,8/5,8/6,8/7. I finally emailed him and CW corporate 8/7 expressing my anger and concerns. On 8/11 i received a phone call in the late afternoon stating that my RV was ready after 95 days. After promising it to me after 14 days. 95 Days.On 8/12 I went to pick up my RV and voiced my dissatisfaction. They presented me with a $114.50 bill which I refused to pay. They forgave the $114.50. I also told them that I thought that one month's expenses as compensation would be fair to both parties. Approx $950.00I was informed also that They could not duplicate the air loss from the airbags. I asked them if they had an air gauge so we could check the air pressure in the air bags. They said they could not duplicate the problem. I told them that that was not what I asked. That I asked if they had an air pressure gauge. The conversation ended. Upon arriving home i checked the pressure in the bags. Right passenger side 68.5 psi. Left side drivers 8.0 psi. Obviously a leak somewhere. If I have to go to small claims court I will be asking for two months expense compensation. Remember 14 days promised, 95 days delivered. Kids out of school 1st week of June. Back in school 8-10-15

My wife and I went to buy an Ace MH. Our sales Man was named Andy when we said we will buy it he tells us this one is already sold but he has another one in Hillsboro. We see that it needs a new windshield and awning over the slide out CW will put it in. We buy it for 85000 and extended warranty for around 5000. When we take it in to put the windshield in and awing they tell us it needs a new roof. We wouldn't have bought it if we new that. The parts Lady says new roofs get put on all the time. I'm sorry but not on new motor homes. People beware.

Water Heater cannot work!

We're living the nightmare! Bought a camper from camping world in Layton, Utah. It's been nothing but problems ever since. Now the big problem is the hot water heater. It fails us EVERYTIME we go camping! I've had the thing in for repairs 3 times now and it is going back again for the same problem. Can you return these things? Isn't there some kind of Lemon Law? Should I be paying for repairs every time it goes in for repair? Is there some kind of problem with the service department? Do the service tech's really know how to fix camper hot water heaters?

Incompetent technicians!

I brought my older motorhome (1981 Holiday Rambler) in for service a month ago because the Onan generator wouldn't work. The service manager said he couldn't give me an estimate until a technician performed an inspection of the generator. So I gave them the green light to do so for a cost of $129. About an hour later the service manager said the technician said that I had a bad coil. When I asked the service manager what it would cost to replace the coil, he said that he couldn't tell me because he didn't even know whether they could get a coil. In other words, I was back to square one. I spent the next couple of weeks trying to find someone who could replace the coil--no luck! Then I spent several days days trying to find a replacement coil. I finally found one for about $80 and then put the coil on myself. However, the generator still wouldn't start. Finally, I found a local mechanic who said he would fix the generator, which he did for a total cost of $55! He said the problem wasn't the coil! The electronic ignition just need adjusting. In other words, Camping World's technician didn't know what he was talking about! And his misdiagnosis cost me over $200 and countless hours of searching, not to mention a whole lot of frustration! I will never again take a camper to Camping World! And I will tell every one I know who owns a camper to avoid the place as well! Joe Treece Joe Treece

Went to Service manager Ernesto for est on damaged 2014 Jayco 5W. I was told 30 days for parts and a day to fix. Offered to make a deposit for parts and was told not necessary, they would work through my insurance. Great! Order the parts, set a date for the repair, and call me when you want the unit in. Can it get easier? Three weeks later Ernesto emails and says he has the parts list together and needs $$ to order the parts - it's company policy?? To top that I went to Jayco for factory parts 193.36 + shipping Ernesto estimate was just under $1500 - I won't set foot in this store again. Ernesto Carbajal shame on you! It's called customer SERVICE. Just looked at the other reviews coach purchasers are happy the rest think the place sucks. Get a clue Camping World you have a problem.

Avoid camping world, they don't back their sales

I bought a Surflo 4008 pump for a camper that we are rebuilding. It was purchased in March 2015 but not installed until today as I have been working on the camper as I had time, Opened the box today and started the installation found the plastic hose connection to be broken. It came apart in my hand as I was attaching the hose, no force of any type. I believe it was cracked, the box was not damaged so it was not broken in transit. I called customer service and after 45 minutes on hold, an agent answered, I explained my problem, gave her my order number, after a few minutes she said we only warranty for 90 days, you must call the manufacturer and gave me the number, sorry, we can't help you. I contacted Shurflo who told me to contact Camping World. I explained that they had given me her number and said it was the manufacturer's problem. She took my number and said she would call me back, have not heard from them yet. This company, Camping World, has terrible customer service and does not stand behind the products they sell. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Camping World. Don't know about Shurflo yet

Bad service

we bought a 2014 Thor RV. When we received I told my husband that I thought they has sold us a used one, there was too many things that had to be fixed. There deep scratches as you walked in on the cabinets. The shower look to me that it had been used. Lots of trimming was loose, curtains did not hang right. The worst was that went curtains there at least 50 to 100 died ladybugs inside at the edge of the front window. I made a list we took it in, they kept it 2 weeks to only fix 3 things. We have taken it back again, they have kept it all most a month. Never return calls.

On line service double charged us; DO NOT SHOP AT CAMPING WORLD

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We cancelled an order the same day of purchase, sent email canceling, received confirmation email was received, 3 days later amount was taken off bank statement. 8 days later our account was overdrawn because CW re-charged our account without notifying us and reactivated our original order. $1307 was involved so we didn't have money for the week end and still don't. GW said they credited but we still don't have our money. Their on line ordering is backlog logged 8000 emails and they didn't get to our order for 11 days, so they didn't read our cancellation notice and charged us again, 11 days later, then they said it was our fault for not waiting for their cancellation conformation!? HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT? They basically stole our money out of our account without notifying us, what thief would?

I live in my new 2015 Flagstaff Super Lite 5th Wheel. Several small items needed addressed after my first trip.It took me two weeks just to get an appointment. There were 4 items needed to be ordered covered by my warranty. The service person( Joe) at Camping World in Grain Valley Missouri could tell me it would take two weeks to get apart, but could not tell me when the other parts might come in when I asked, but said they were months out to make repairs.Being new to owning an RV and living in it this was very upsetting. As we all can see from this site that is a lot of complaints.I hear lots of complaints re the service department at this particular Camping World.I am an Disabled Veteran and this is my home.Is this really going on this will not be a win,win for me or Camping World.Oh,I don't believe in suing by the way,but this is UNACCEPTIBLE to me. Thanks for this site.Sincerely Cheryl A.East

Camping World - 2004 Fleetwood Wilderness Advantage Review from Germantown, Maryland

Be prepared to bend over and take it, because you are definetly going to get screwed dealing with these people! My husband and I purchased a used 5th wheel, granted it was used, granted it was purchased "as is" and we were made aware of "the repairs" that were needed to be made. With that in mind and knowing what needed to be done we purchased the 5th wheel....nothing prepared us for everything else that was wrong with it that they hesitated to tell us and then on top of everything else...our second camping trip on the way home half of our roof blew off!!...do these people actually check these things before selling them!!!...I've tried contacting them about this, but of course they do not want to hear from anyone unless you are purchasing their ***! They already have our money, so why would they care! Will never deal with these people ever again and will advise anyone else the same!

Front Cap

About two weeks ago I took my camper to Camping World for a review of my delamination problem on my camper's front cap. I delivered it to the service center they agree to look at it for a diagnosis. After a phone call they said I had two options, one to replace the cap for four thousand or repair the problem for twenty five hundred depending on what they found. I agreed to have it repaired. Two days later they call and said they did not want to work on my camper. They wanted to replace the cap only. After a few choice words I picked up the camper, paid the diagnosis bill and went home. When I got home I got on the internet and found a company Hemet Valley RV that would provide me with a new prefabricated fiberglass front cap for 800.00 dollars. I proceeded to repair my front cap without any problems [no other damage] for a grand total of 1000.00 dollars. Thank you Camping World for you lack of customer service you saved me over two thousand dollars. Keith ktsm0812@***.com
