Details
Purchased a new THOR Class C RV 2016 model. Before we used the RV I had to take it back in for service. The RV traveled all over the road. at this time I was told I needed to have a steering unit installed this was $500.00 more. I Took it in for service after out first trip to Belleville Ill. We where on the road for two an a half months, At this time I found over 9 items that needed to be fixed. I Set up an Service visit the following week after returning back home. 1. Bottom on door (Light comes in) not sealed. 2. Blue tooth mic (Relocate mic) 3. Stove Burner ( keeps coming off) 4. Seats backs by table, (Pin poking thru on both sides} 5. Material behind drivers seat on wall is loose. 6. Vent Leaks when it rains by stove, Material on wall is coming loose. 7. Carbon dioxide alarm go's off when hot water is turned on. 8. Shower track is broken, Is was repaired by you, I didn't see it until after I left. 9. Wall by bathroom door, unsat Insulation I had to take my RV back again last week, We have the back storage compartment leaking when it rains. I table stored next to the leaking door became rusted. I also had two smaller tables stored there. The Battery inside the unit would not hold a charge.I was told the bring it in on Thursday the 16th of Sept at 8:30 AM. On Friday I checked the status of the repair. First called and left a message, I didn't receive a return call back. I then took a drive down too Camping World in Charleston, SC. and was told it would not even be looked at until today. I didn't like the answer the was told from the service department. I then requested to talk to the Service Manager, (Chris Searcy) Chris told me to call him today and he would check on the repair. I called and left a message and he didn't return my call. I am totally dissatisfied with the RV and Service department.

Camping World - 2017 Keystone Rv Cougar Rv Review from Algona, Iowa

Update by user Sep 20, 2016

The business manager explained that the goodsam service contract would cost $2500.00 for seven years. But if we would take paint protection it would cost $1500.00.

He did not tell us paint protection would cost $1925.00. He inferred paint protection was included in the service contract. We initialed the purchase for the $1500.00 only. Somehow the $1925.00 was added in the cost. We would not have initialed the papers if we knew that to save $1,000.00 it would cost $ 1925.00, it doesn't make sense..

When I called the dealership I was told it could not be canceled . We did not receive any paperwork explaining the paint protection program. All we know is that it is only good for 5 years which makes it a complete ripoff.

I asked to speak to the general manager but was told he was in a meeting. The business manager and a secretary who answers the phone both said that they would give him a message to call me. He never did call.

We bought a 2017 keystone cougar travel trailer from Camping World in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The business manager added a service contract which he said included paint protection. When we got our contract it had a $1925.00 charge for paint protection. When I called the business manager he said it was not cancellable. I would never have signed a contract with a non-cancellable item had I been told about it. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CEDAR FALLS, IOWA CAMPING WORLD RV SALES. I called the general manager to discuss the problem, but was never called back by him. They have my money so now they just ignore me....

Camping World - Rv Repair Review from Holly Springs, North Carolina

Details
I recently bought a brand new 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 22FE Class C Coach Motorhome on May 16th of 2016. The Coleman Air Conditioner ceiling unit in it is designed to run constantly on various cooling modes. I didn't know that was the fact when I bought it. That wasn't even mentioned to me during the walk thru when I bought it. I have taken my Motorhome on one trip this hot summer. After freezing to death the first night trying to sleep due to having to leave the unit on low cool mode all night, I decided I would take it back to Camping World in Garner, NC, where I bought my Motorhome, and have a normal adjustable thermostat installed that would cut on and off at the desired temperatures that I select. The parts guy there, Michael Justice, there told me that the parts shouldn't cost but about $65 and labor involved to install it would be not too expensive as it shouldn't take but about 30 minutes to complete the work. That conversation between he and I took place on Wednesday 9-7-16 in the Garner store. So, I told him to go ahead and order the parts and do the work and to call me when the job was finished, which he did. The work was completed this week on Thursday 9-15-16. I went to pick my Motorhome up on Friday afternoon 9-16-16. When I went to the parts desk to pay my bill, Michael Justice handed me an outrageous bill for $663.04. I was shocked to say the least!! I was fuming but I didn't want to cause a ruckus in the store. I'm not that way. I paid the bill with my credit card and walked out mad as a wet hen! So, that's why I'm addressing this matter directly to The Camping World Corporation. The W/O number for the work performed is #136-3984879 and dated 9-9-16. The parts involved to do the work came to $289.98. The labor came to be $311.14 to run a wire to the thermostat and change out the ceiling assembly cover. There were no hours shown anywhere on the bill as to how much time it took to perform $311.14 of labor costs. That's mighty high for 30 minutes of labor! After NC sales tax of $41.92 for the parts, the total amount the bill showed I owed was $663.04. I am utterly pissed at Camping World for billing me for these horrendous charges. I went over there on May 16th and spent $52,000 for my new 2017 Motorhome. They should have considered that high dollar purchase before they reamed me! I am hereby requesting a refund to my credit card from the Camping World Corporation in the amount of $350. I think that is a legitimate and fair request in this matter. $313.04 is more than a fair price for the work that was performed in my opinion. I am a 68 year old retired Senior businessman and a native of Hillsborough. I know a lot of high ranking, influential people in the Raleigh/Durham and Hillsborough business areas. if my request is not honored by Camping World, I will tell these people to spread the word that Camping World of Garner is nothing but a Rip Off Joint and not to do business there. I certainly hope you do honor my request so it doesn't come to that. I hope to hear from you shortly. My email address and my telephone number are both on file at Camping World of Raleigh in Garner, NC. Please reply ASAP! Thank you in advance. John Cates

Camping World sold us RV with known recalls and no fix!!!!

we purchased a 2017 Keystone Montana 3950BR from Camping World in Robertsdale. It was a few weeks after our purchase before we could take it out. The A/C ran constant and leaked water in through both return air vents. This is the worst of MANY problems. We immediately took it back to Camping World for repair. They kept is over 2 weeks. Then when we took it out again, we had the same issues, even worse especially when it rains. We cannot get Service Manager to call back. We learned that there was a recall on the A/C units- prior to our purchase. We are furious!!!! We were deceived, big-time.

Camping World - Trade-in Review from North Atlanta, Georgia

Details
I bought a motorhome 18 months ago as a 1st time buyer. I go back to trade it in for something bigger and that would suit my needs. I talked to the salesman about this when I bought it. It was a concern that I had buying used for the first-time he said they would trade it in and I could get what I wanted. I found out that I had been lied to. Not only that, but they sold me a 18,000 motorhome and got it financed for 34,000. When I took to check on trading it in they told me that they could give me 13,000 for it and I would still owe the remaining 18,000. That no bank would give me a loan on anything over10 years old. Wth it was 15 years old when I bought it. By some miracle I got a loan a year ago. I was *** no doubt but I learned my lesson. Camping world as far as I am concerned are liars and not to be trusted. I am happy about one thing though, God did bless me with a motorhome that has given me minimal problems this far. And thank God it was low mileage. Go to a smaller dealership the prices are lower. Camping world doesn't care about the customer just the sales with a huge markup. What they are doing should be against the law.

Camping World in Akron, Ohio - Very Upset

I am so upset with my experience with this service department , I can hardly even begin to write a review. Since May 2016 I have been trying to get my RV serviced, Its been a game for them since day 1. It is NOW Sept 15, 2016 and they are still giving me the round around. One person to the next play the blame game. They offered an extended service contract which I paid highly for. They waited until the beginning of August to tell me that I had to get another service person to fix the Refrigerator that came with the camper. In June, I called the extended service company, they said they never heard of a company not certified to service items they actually sold to me! Also in June I talked to someone in "charge" and swore he would call me back when he found out the answer. You guessed it, he never called me back. Writer (Dani) called me back 3 weeks later and told me that the parts were on order. I stupidly assumed she meant "everything" that was broken, NOPE 3 more weeks later I found out, they didnt mean ALL of the parts. This has been the worst customer service I have ever had. They all need some retraining on handling their very poor customer service, including upper management that never called back since June 28, 2016 I am a diabetic and I have not had a refrigerator all summer and my Insulin needs to be refrigerated. I will never purchase a brand new RV or even used from them again.

Camping World - Rv Repair Review from Bicknell, Utah

I had a new roof air unit put on my motorhome. The "best techs" in the business were assigned. After three hours of a simple replacement they informed me that entire motorhome needed to be rewired. I ended up, much to their chagrin, going out and wiring the unit myself! Then I noticed that they had plugged the coach into their 110 shop outlet with a number 18 light weight extension cord. It kept blowing the breaker. I told the tech to pick up the cord and use my 30 amp cord. He burned his hand on his light weight extension. When I informed the shop manager of his "best techs" stupidity, he just shined it off. After I did all the work in their shop, I was still allowed to pay the full installation price for the simple replace the of a roof air unit. Same model- same brand! Not a real testament to their skills. I will never use these clowns again!

Camping World in La Cygne, Kansas - A poor exuse for a "service department"

Camping World - A poor exuse for a "service department"
I bought a new camper back in June. we noticed on our first trip. (luckily it was raining) a leak in the skylight above the shower. When I called in to report this leak and set up the repair. This was a factory defect that I was able to temp fix it until I could get it dropped off. I received a call from the dealership saying that the lot had been broken into a month after the unit had been dropped off and that I would be notified if my camper had been affected. I received no further call. I finally call them 6 weeks after it had been dropped off and "parts were still on order" I demanded that the unit be fixed and low and behold, it was "fixed" that day. I then made arrangements to pick my camper up. I showed up to the dealership and the "service writer" (I use this term loosely) said that all work was done, handed the porter a post it note with my unit number and then went about his business. Mind you, I was the only customer there, the camper was dropped off in the parking lot and I was left to hook it up myself. The doors were locked and I didn't have my key with me. At this point, I was so disgusted with the "service" that I hooked up the camper and tore out of there. When I arrived home and unlocked the camper, there were several cabinet doors open and the *** TV was missing. I called the service manager first thing this morning and rather than offering to replace my TV, he gave me the run around that Camping World was not responsible for the missing items and offered the phone number for the local police dept. attached is a photo. If you opened this camper and saw this, wouldn't you contact the customer to let them know? Camping World, I hope someone from your company reads this because you all, at least your KC store, are pathetic.

Camping world Calera

2.2
Details
We called Camping World of Calera to have some warranty work done to our Forest River Wildcat. When I called they told me they I could bring it down there in two weeks. I was fine with that and waited two weeks and brought it down that morning of July 30/2016. There were a couple people in front of me and I waited until it was my turn. I gave them a list of problems we had with our 5th wheel about 12 in all. Everything from broken hinges to fresh water not registering on the meter to the awning separating. The service advisor told me he would be on vacation the following week but assured me they would be working on my camper while he was gone. So I left it there for the first week and waited until the following Tuesday to call him and see how it was going. I was told everything was going well and that they were still looking at it. I said ok and waited again and called back that Friday to see if everything was getting done. I was told they ordered the parts and that 3 of the things they could not find anything wrong with. So I explained to them where they problem was and they said ok I will go out right now and take a look at it. Well another week goes by and I call to see if the parts have come in and they tell me no not yet. So I decide to call Forest River to find out that the delay is. Forest River informs me that no parts have been ordered for my camper. I call Camping world back and I’m told they will call me back. That was on a Tuesday. I never hear anything back so I call everyday that week and get the same response that someone will call me back. I can say with all the calls I have made they might have called me back twice. Well they finally order my parts three weeks after I bring it in. ( I find out later that they didn’t ever look at my camper until the Thursday. Why make an appointment for Saturday and keep it 5 days before even looking at it.) So I finally get the service manager at Camping World and its just a nightmare. Excuse after excuse not taking ownership for any of it. The parts are on order now he tells me. I said I was told that before and they straight out lied to me. So now I call Forest River and they tell me everything is in except the window and awning and that it will go out right away. Well I guess right away means when ever they get to it because I have been calling they now trying to find out when they will ship my parts. At first they said they had everything but then changed there mind and said they were waiting on a part. When I questioned them on it and said you told me it was in last week he checked and said oh yes it is in we will get this out today. Well today was 6 days ago. He said call me tomorrow and I’ll give you the tracking info on it. Well I have called everyday last week and got the same thing. Call me back tomorrow and I’ll have it for you. After talking to the Parts manager at Forest River I finally got informed that they are shipping everything except the awning and window today and gave me that tracking info. They have had my 5th wheel for over 6 weeks now and by the time they get the parts it will be Friday or Monday and then they have to install them I will be looking at 2 months that they have had my camper. My wife would like to know who is going to make the 2 months worth of payments because we have not had the camper. I’m at my wits ends not sure what way to turn on this hole thing. The sad part is even when we get it back next week I will still have to bring it back for the window and awning.
