WORST SERVICE EVER BY CAMPING WORLD INDIANAPOLIS

1.0
Details
My partner Shelby and I bought a 2017 hartland Pioneer,we signed the paperwork on 07/15/2016 and the unit was delivered on 07/18 to our camp site. Upon delivery, the delivery driver told us the stereo didn’t work and that they had to order a new one and he would probably be the one to come back out to install the new radio. The driver was in a rush because it was after 5 and he had been waiting on us to get there to meet him, (we were not there because we had been told the delivery had been canceled for that day and they would have to bring it the next day, then we get a call from the driver that he is at the gate of our campground waiting on us) We start to inspect the trailer and right off the bat there are all kinds of issues (something as simple as a missing speaker cover on the ceiling and the amplified antenna not connected in the wall), and it was filthy with build material like it had not been prepped for delivery. We called our salesman Mike the next day with a list of issues, again we get the run around and around! They finally agree to come pick the unit up for the repairs, which they did on 08/11/16. Many calls later with no reply, no update as to what is going on with the trailer, My partner Shelby Isner goes up there to speak with the General Manager Mike Coyle, but of course he is not there because it’s a holiday weekend , nor is the service manager there. She speaks to another guy there and he does some checking and finds that they are showing our trailer has been done since 8/31 but no one called us to let us know that so we had canceled our camping trip thinking they were sill working on it. He tells us we are out of luck for the holiday weekend unless we run home and get the truck, otherwise he would “do us a favor and deliver it on the following Tuesday. So we took that option. The trailer was then delivered to us on 9/6/16 to our home, the driver backed it in the driveway and then left. We should have inspected the trailer then but we didn’t go over it until the next day at which time we find damage to the trailer on the L/H side, it has been pulled into something or something has backed into it. We took pictures and sent them to our salesman and asked that he send them to the GM. We never got a call so we again started calling, we finally got a call back from Mike Coyle he was very apologetic and assured we would get a call back that day to make arrangements to resolve our problems,,,,,,, that was 8 days ago, we have yet to get a call from anyone!! The is the most horrible purchasing experience we have ever had, I would never recommend that anyone do business with this company, and had I read all the bad reviews from other poor suckers that bought from these people, I would not have either!!

Camping World Service....

We purchased a new 2014 Itasca Sunstar from a dealer in California (prices were WAY better than in Utah) and drove it home to Utah in November, 2013. In the spring of 2014, during our first camping trip in the coach, we had problems with the automatic leveling system. It would error and say "unable to complete leveling" and "return for service". We contacted Camping World since they were the only local authorized dealer for our coach in our area, apparently. We took the coach in for service under warranty since it was only a few months old. That was the beginning of the worst experience for us. They said they fixed the leveling problem after several weeks of having the coach, but after we picked it up and went on our next camping trip, we had the same problem. Back to Camping World we went. Again and again and again. Each time they had the coach FAR longer than they originally estimated. Each time they said they worked with Lippert Components, Inc. to diagnose and fix the issue. Each time we continued to have the same problems. Once in a while the system would work ok, and we gave a slight sigh of relief, only to find the next time out in our coach we would experience the problem again. After many months and many visits to Camping World, the service advisor told me that they, and Lippert, were "no longer willing to work with us and cover it under the warranty". This was an ongoing issue that trained technicians at Camping World could not fix after repeated attempts. We even had a phone call between the Camping World technician and a Lippert technician to try to resolve the issue. Again, Camping World said they fixed it and we picked it up and took it out. IT STILL WOULDN'T level! Finally, in August of 2016, I contact Lippert Components directly. I ended up dealing with the CEO of the company who apologized for the level of service I had received from Camping World and that if I could bring it to their office in Elkhart, IN, he would ensure a team would be waiting for us and would fix it to our satisfaction. We drove there from Utah about 2 weeks later. The team was waiting for us and treated us so well. Very well educated on the systems and were able to fix the leveling system in a matter of 4 hours. As they had suspected, the pump itself was not holding pressure once they put the testing gauges on it. Camping World could have fixed this issue 2 years ago if they had the sense to keep the correct tools in house and took the time to really listen to what Lippert was trying to tell them. The team at Lippert, from the technician who replaced the pump, to the customer service representative that assisted me, to the CEO himself were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared that we had a positive ending to this experience. In fact, the CEO even helped us find a different dealer in Utah so we don't have to work with Camping World again. He was unaware of anything ever being said about not being willing to work on the issue, since it was their product at issue!

Camping World - Wish I had read this board before I bought the camper :(

We purchased a 2016 Mallard in March. We took the camper in because we had water under the bedroom area window. We were told it would be ready in a week. 3 weeks later still not ready. We were told oh yeah we need to order a new window. Ok, call us when it comes. We took our camper thinking we would be able to bring it back within a couple of weeks. NO phone call after a few weeks, so we call to inquire. Oh they sent the wrong size so we had to reorder. I told them "thanks, now our dresser wood is soft at the bottom because of the water leaking around the window, so how long is that going to take to fix???" This was our first experience buying a camper. Poor post customer service will ruin a business. I will never buy another camper due to this experience.

Camping World - Customer Care Review from Siloam Springs, Arkansas

The camping world of Lowell Arkansas had a 30 amp extension cord on sale for $40. on the website. I arrived at the store and was shown where the cords were located. I asked the employee if they offered the internet price and was told sure. We went to the register to check out and I was asked for my "good Sam card" I had to have this card for the sale price and could buy one for $26. My complaint is this should have been posted on web site The employees and management of this establishment have been very unhelpful and had multiple reasons why the discount could not be applied. I will not recommend this place in the future.

Camping World - Auto Part Review from Pinehurst, North Carolina

My campers been sitting there for 25 days. And I just got notification there just now ordering parts only because I've started calling them. The service writer asked me to email him pictures of the camper so they can know what they have ahead of them that was 6 weeks ago. He said so when I brought the camper down they could start on it right away, lies. I talk to a girl 2 weeks ago that all the parts are ordered but when I went down there to get it update nothing had been done. If they were that busy they should have told me I would have brought the camper somewhere else

Purchased a new THOR Class C RV 2016 model. Before we used the RV I had to take it back in for service. The RV traveled all over the road. at this time I was told I needed to have a steering unit installed this was $500.00 more. I Took it in for service after out first trip to Belleville Ill. We where on the road for two an a half months, At this time I found over 9 items that needed to be fixed. I Set up an Service visit the following week after returning back home. 1. Bottom on door (Light comes in) not sealed. 2. Blue tooth mic (Relocate mic) 3. Stove Burner ( keeps coming off) 4. Seats backs by table, (Pin poking thru on both sides} 5. Material behind drivers seat on wall is loose. 6. Vent Leaks when it rains by stove, Material on wall is coming loose. 7. Carbon dioxide alarm go's off when hot water is turned on. 8. Shower track is broken, Is was repaired by you, I didn't see it until after I left. 9. Wall by bathroom door, unsat Insulation I had to take my RV back again last week, We have the back storage compartment leaking when it rains. I table stored next to the leaking door became rusted. I also had two smaller tables stored there. The Battery inside the unit would not hold a charge.I was told the bring it in on Thursday the 16th of Sept at 8:30 AM. On Friday I checked the status of the repair. First called and left a message, I didn't receive a return call back. I then took a drive down too Camping World in Charleston, SC. and was told it would not even be looked at until today. I didn't like the answer the was told from the service department. I then requested to talk to the Service Manager, (Chris Searcy) Chris told me to call him today and he would check on the repair. I called and left a message and he didn't return my call. I am totally dissatisfied with the RV and Service department.

Camping World - 2017 Keystone Rv Cougar Rv Review from Algona, Iowa

Update by user Sep 20, 2016

The business manager explained that the goodsam service contract would cost $2500.00 for seven years. But if we would take paint protection it would cost $1500.00.

He did not tell us paint protection would cost $1925.00. He inferred paint protection was included in the service contract. We initialed the purchase for the $1500.00 only. Somehow the $1925.00 was added in the cost. We would not have initialed the papers if we knew that to save $1,000.00 it would cost $ 1925.00, it doesn't make sense..

When I called the dealership I was told it could not be canceled . We did not receive any paperwork explaining the paint protection program. All we know is that it is only good for 5 years which makes it a complete ripoff.

I asked to speak to the general manager but was told he was in a meeting. The business manager and a secretary who answers the phone both said that they would give him a message to call me. He never did call.

We bought a 2017 keystone cougar travel trailer from Camping World in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The business manager added a service contract which he said included paint protection. When we got our contract it had a $1925.00 charge for paint protection. When I called the business manager he said it was not cancellable. I would never have signed a contract with a non-cancellable item had I been told about it. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CEDAR FALLS, IOWA CAMPING WORLD RV SALES. I called the general manager to discuss the problem, but was never called back by him. They have my money so now they just ignore me....
