Camping World and their false advertising

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Camping World has false advertising on their products. They will send you an email with an advertised price, then when you make a purchase they will charge you more and will not refund you on thier advertised salle price. this is bad business and I would avoid them at all cost's. this is bad business and false advertising. We used to call this, "the old hook and bait trick" Not cool, especially since customer service would not resolve this for me. I will be expecting a full refund and will not purchase from them anymore. I can recomend you do the same so you don't fall into the same bait and switch routine that i did. What a terrible business practice this is. i'm sorry for all ther future customers.

I too found this to be true. Took my fifth-wheel with an error code on the refrigerator.

They said it was "toast" and needed to be replaced. The service advisor gave me three different quotes with the high being $2,200. I told him I would check prices further. In looking on the CW website it was on sale for $1,397 so I called him back and he gave me the run around.

Finally, he asked the service manager and it was approved but took over 30 days to get it in the shop. After installation and taking it home and set up the refrigerator showed a different error code. Called service mgr and to his credit he sent a tech to the unit that day only to learn that this unit was also bad and they would have order another new unit. I had to be out of town so I took the unit back to CW and when I returned a couple of weeks later I called the service dept three times but was transferred to a voice mail each time.

I went to CW only to learn the service advisor had transferred to another CW. The service advisor I was assigned to told me the new refrigerator hadn't even been ordered. To date I am still waiting.

Another reviewer cited the disorganization of CW.

I concur. I think Marcus Leonis needs to drop "The Profit" show where he rescues failing companies and rescue his own company.

Took my KZ Sportsman 37' 5th wheel camper in a month ago for some repairs. So far I've received zero communication from them. I drove up twice to check on their "progress" and both times my camper was still sitting in the same exact spot I parked it in when I dropped it off. Every time I want to find out something I either have to call them or drive 1.5 hours roundtrip to check on the repair progress. I finally talked to the assistant service manager today and she just kept talking over me. When I finally was able to talk I explained the situation but still not sure she understands my issues. I called Camping World corporate office and filed a complaint. I'm also filing a complaint with the Tennessee Better Business Bureau. My advice is to find another shop if you need RV or camper servie - these guys could care less about communicating or fixing an RV.

Crooks, fraud, BEWARE

My Aunt and Uncle bought a brand new camper to put at our boat club on Lake Wateree. upon showing us the paperwork she realized that they charged her ufor the 2,500 extended warranty without any paperwork explaining what the warranty covered. she called to cancel the warranty and get a refund and the person tried to pressure her to keep it. My aunt asked her to fax the paperwork to the bank so that it could be deducted from her loan and the finance person at camping world told her that she would do it when she got ready and she was out for vacation the next week. I heard the conversation on speaker phone and I was appalled at the way she spoke with my aunt. They charged her over 200.00 for a spare tire that was not even on the camper. This has been a nightmare for what should have been a pleasant experience. They Do Not care about the customer.

Disrespecting customer

I recently went into a Camping World to purchase a travel trailer. I found the one me and my family loved. After several times going back in forth for a few days, we all came to an agreement on a 2016 Prowler travel trailer. We went into sign the purchase agreement, and suddenly on that trailer are camper was $3000.00 less then what they were given us. They said because we did not take the other 2016 Prowler that also was new. The sales man got the manager. He was loud and disrespected my wife, and me in front of my children, and other customers. I would never buy or recommend the Syracuse store.

Didn't do what they promised

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I recently purchased a 2009 Winnebago View from Camping World in Salt Lake City. It was $70,000, and although used, for that amount of money I expected to get a completely functional unit. At the time I was promised all systems would be checked to be sure they functioned properly. On my first outing it became obvious something significant was wrong. The water system leaked every time it was used. Took it back and they went through it, supposedly. Found nothing and told me nothing was wrong with it. Took it out again. Same problem. Eventually they found the water heater was cracked. They offered to split the cost with me. I reminded them this was a delivery issue and I was promised all systems were checked and worked properly. Obviously that was a lie. Finally they agreed to absorb the cost, but only after I fought with them over it. The awning wouldn't work properly. Found a part was broken. Promised to replace it. They didn't. The check engine light was on. They refused to even check it. Said that was not something they did. I would need to go to a Mercedes dealer. That's probably going to cost me a few thousand. Now I wonder what else they didn't do. I'm afraid I've bought a lemon that I'll have to live with for a long time and bottom line is, Camping World doesn't care.

Campingworld - a bunch of fools BAD SERVICE

Camping World - Campingworld - a bunch of fools BAD SERVICE
While I had my camper at Campingworld in Caleria Alabama for warranty repairs some clown hit it with another trailer. They never called or told me about it so someone didn't report it (let me look shocked about that!) I found it out when I went to talk to them on how the warranty work was progressing. Needless to say I went ballistic! I was probably ruder than I needed to be be but I have been waiting on them to work with ForrestRiver on another issue for 3 weeks and they have not moved at all. I finally got their GM to assist me yesterday but I had to go search him down as the rest of the monkeys there were too *** to understand what "go get your GM NOW" means. But what do you want from a bunch of minimum wage workers who have to do customer service every day.

Poor, unacceptable customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Inept. The camping World in Golden Colorado is so mismanaged no wonder the service is so poor...to make a long story short we ,purchased our 5th wheel May 12 and still are waiting for our hitch. They have graciously let us use a rusty used one. In addition, my husband went to register the coach and the DMV had no recorrd of the sale. Joan at Camping World said they are still working on April's sales and because the coach originally on another lot and that lot has to send the paperwork to her. She also said once the paperwork is sent in to the state it could take two weeks or so. Now all of this sucks but we have a planned trip with a specific date to meet family in Florida. People have bought airline tickets, etc. Never in my dreams could i have imagined such incompetence and i have never been so angry. I know now from reading so many negative reviews I'm not going to sever our relationship after this situation is solved.

Scam

We Bought a Trailer from camper World and it wasn't until we took it out camping for the first time-that we found out they sold us a trailer with a bent axle, the left tire was completely bald on the outside edge about 3 inches in.Pretty scary what if it would of blown. The thing is before we bought the trailer, we kept telling them "it looks like the trailer is leaning a little", they told us repeatedly that the tires just needed air. When we called them about this issue they had us bring it in, and they changed the spring on one side telling us that was the problem, we brought the trailer home and it was really tippy but they said it was because the spring is new and it will even out with the other side eventually, turns out they put the wrong size spring on, so we changes the spring ourselves to the correct size, and also changes the axle, because they don't know how to do it right the first time, I feel we were really ripped off, they sold us a trailer knowing that the axles were bent, Very disappointing. Never go there!!!!!

We bought a new 2015 Keystone Cougar-lite 27RKS. It had half dozen workmanship issues from factory (broken hinges, Table leaf hinge, ceiling strapping, broken charging station, wooden trim damaged, only one set of keys) and found a huge leak in nose cap seam we found a few months after purchase. The service and sales folks where great it took a couple trips in (waiting for parts & we wanted to use camping) and they fixed all our issues. The entire team are very friendly, courteous, and professional as well as always followed up to check that all issues had been corrected. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends

HORRIBLE COMPANY

WOW !! What a horrible company to do business with. Don't buy from them !! the service after the sale is terrible. He's why, First no one will return your phone calls except for the sales staff. I left 10 messages for the finance manager without so much as a return call over a 14 day period just in case he was on vacation, he wasn't. When I was finally able to get in touch with him he ( in which I called him again ) said he didn't get any messages. Funny they were on his personal voice mail box. What do you think ?? Second, it's been 3 phone calls with contact with company employees and 3 months and I still have not received title to my trailer. They said they are overworked and under staffed. Well fix it people !! Then I've been waiting over 2 months for a $300.00 rebate check for my GAP insurance. I did get one finally 2 weeks ago but it was made out to the bank instead of me. I called and talked to the lady and she said send check back and she would reissue one to me. Well that's going on 2 weeks now and she won't return a call either now. I've left her 2 messages for her. I think all they want is your money and once they get that their done with you. I would just bet that their service department is just as bad too. This company needs some serious management changes. I will never buy so much as a roll to T.P. from Camping World in the future and I would recommend taking your business some where else as well. This is only my opinion but this is all honest information.

Your store

My wife and I were in you store last week. We could not find anyone to help us because it seemed like they were to busy on there phones, things on the selves were not in the proper place and lead us to believe they were cheaper than they were until we got to the counter to check out when we pointed this out to the cashier she and another girl just said that`s the way it is and we would have to just pay the right price. It may sound like small stuff to you but I will never come back to your store and I will tell all my friends to go some where else. I want nothing to do with your stores and any of your on line items.

Bad Service, responsiveness and warranty support!

I purchased a Thor motorcoach on May 29th from your team and it has turned out to be one of the worst purchasing decisions of my life. I truly regret my decision. We took one trip after buying the RV and: Found ourselves and our dog trapped in the unit due to a malfunctioning dead bolt lock on the door. Escaping through the emergency exit window in the back would have been dangerous. After disappointing and frustration attempts for support on an early Friday evening from your service team and the road side assistance we purchased as part of the sale I finally had to disassemble the door latch from the inside. Including drilling out rivets so we could escape. I was able to reassemble the latch but not the lock. We spent the weekend in the RV without the security of a locked door. Combine that with a bedroom slide window that was stuck open and would not close, a problem with the fan on the AC unit, a bathroom door that would not stay closed during transit, a blown fuse in one of the TVs, a radio unable to receive radio stations and a fresh water hose purchased at your store that leaked terrible, ultimately falling apart in my hands and you can imagine the disappointment and frustration. I'd like to say that we took a second trip and had a better experience but the RV has sat at Camping World in Wauconda for the last 2 weeks waiting on warranty service and we've been told approval from Thor may take as long as a month, if they approve the repairs at all. by the way, not a helpful or friendly staff in the service department in Wauconda. They seem quite bothered every time we call after hearing no update. We'd like to go camping again! That's why we bought it. I earn my living in the service business and expect my team to provide service that is of such high quality that our customers would be afraid to go anywhere else. I'd be embarrassed to receive this email. I expected better,

Extended Warranty Sales Scam Little Rock CW

Watch Out during the paper work! My fault because I was taken in by the smiles and backslapping, boy I made it easy for them. Love my RV and satisfied with the price. BUT! After driving 180 miles from my home to pick up the Rv and finalize the walkthru at a 1:00pm appointment that happened at 4pm (8/8/14 Friday night) I got in a hurry and signed paper work and hit the road to get back before dark. When reviewed the paper work (8/16/15) I had paid $11,000 for $6000 worth of warranties. I faxed a Cancel Request right then. Of course all calls went to a VM. Tuesday I finally got a return call from a sales manager, he said price was a mistake and would change if I kept ,I said no. Later I got email from the finance guy Craig Manes, (The one that I let screw me) he said it was to late to stop paper work (now remember it was Sunday the 16th) and would have to wait 4-6 weeks for a refund but my payments would remain the same loans would just be paid off sooner. Lucky for me I can pay off in full which I will, did get a fair interest rate. Plus I didn't have half my paper work copies I signed. I really screwed myself, my fault. Just very disappointed with trying to cancel and lies told to stop me from canceling. CW has no customer service . This is just a short of the whole story. Point is as saying goes ,Buyer be aware of sheep in wolf clothes. Sad, I really wanted a good relationship with CW, thanks to Little Rock that won't be. Thankfull there is Amazon for accessories and good mobile RV guy that can handle most of my appliance and such for any need warranty work near by. I did purchase better polices for a 1/3 of CW from WW. Also getting full road master tow and brake install for $2800 vs CW $4200 for my toad. Copied the Little Rock CW General Manager Hans Maclennan on all emails, never heard for the guy. Yep, he was one of the smiling backslappers.
