Bad customer service

First off the finance rep for camping World in Fountain CO was wonderful he provided more service than the sales rep or the service folks. Name was Brian Ford. The service department is either under staffed or they don't care. There is no quality control as proved by a tech installing a new TV in my unit and never testing it causing me to drive 75 miles to have it fixed. Picked up unit and tested DVD at home and it is not connected to TV. Got home and auto leveler displaying message that its not working, what that has to do with the TV is beyond me. The leveler was working when I took it to Camping World. You would think when you spend in excess of $100,000 on a Motor home you would be taken care of. Guess not!

Customer Relations--BAD

Purchased RV in May 2015 has been in and out of service most of the time, worst Customer Care Policy ever dealt with. Last time in November 2015 with a short list of warranty repair work, after 5 weeks and about half a dozen calls they kept telling us they were waiting on manufacture OK (we checked not true) finally called General Manager we were told it was ready the warped closet doors replacement we were told was being custom made would be here first week of Dec. 2015, we picked up RV (filthy) was told the doors will be here first of Jan. 2016, it is now middle of Feb. 2016 have NOT heard from anybody at Camping World. Another weird thing is the do not provide paper work on what they supposedly did to unit. Another complaint was when they moved it around using a forklift they knocked a chunk of fiber glass out of front cone, did not tell us we found it when washing it they agreed to fix and did, but when we picked it up in Dec. 2015 brought it home and in the process of cleaning it up noticed that they had knocked another chunk out of the fiber glass cone did they tell us NO. There Customer Care Policy sucks.

Camping world complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Friday June 26.2015 copy to Paul caglin Aug 1, 15 copy to corp hqa via complaint ln A brief history of my dealings with the St Augustine Camping World 1. I purchased the 2010 Dutchman 390 intense toy hauler about April 2011. The sales crew and the financial crew were great to work with. Someone from the service dept was assigned to give me a walk-through to insure I understood all the controls and to check for any problems. When it came to showing me the levers to drain the holding tanks I pointed out to him that there was no lever for the forward gray water holding tank. He explained to me in the newer units that the black water valve emptied both the gray and black water at the same time. OK I believed him until the first time we went camping and flooded the master bedroom. I discovered a small hole that a bee might make and poked a clothes hanger in and felt something hard. After cutting out the insulation I found the valve with no control lever attached. I went bought the parts and I fixed that. 2. I had some add on features and so I did not take the unit with me that day. After the work was completed I went to pick the unit up. Some one from Camping World met me to assist in hooking the fifth wheel unit up. He was having some problems getting the height right and I asked what the problem was. He said the motor overheated and the safety shut it off. After another attempt I opened the compartment containing the gear equip and discovered the channel the landing gear slides up and down in was split. (this is like 1/4” steel). They kept the unit and fixed the problem. 3. I go to pick the unit up after the above repairs, I was instructed I would be met out in the front parking area to receive the keys. After 2-21/2 hrs and many trips inside to check on the status someone came out and explained an employee accidentally took the keys home. 4. Some time later ( the paper work with the exact date is in the camper) I took it in for some warranty work. The fueling station didn't work and the generator would not run for more that 15 minutes. I go to pick it up and instead of owing $50 or $100 I owe $900 and they explained the generator needed a new carburetor not covered by warranty. I requested the old parts and received them. There was nothing wrong with the carburetor or the fueling station pump but the fuel filter that was changed on the generator was clogged. I decided that was the last time that I would deal with Camping World. 5. Well 14 months later the generator had the same problem, I called the service department to check on the warranty for repairs, I was told 12 months and decided I would get someone else to fix it. 6. This past April, I hit a low limb at a state park and did damage to the ac and some vents. I took pictures to report this to my insurance company. Camping World recommended insurance company. I told them I had already had it looked at and pictures taken of the damage and wanted to use the mobile RV, licensed and insured people to do the work and they said OK but would not pay travel expenses to that company and that they recommend I use one of their “trusted” shops. Go figure, that was the St Augustine Camping World. 7. I got an $8,500 dollar estimate, the insurance $7,900 (approx) that would have had me paying about $600. When I went to pick it up I was billed $1000. I questioned why and I was told there was some other damage found that caused the increase. 8. This past week I was told that the repairs were complete and went to pick up my RV. I was assured that a complete walk through had been done by three people ( I had told Ashley about my previous experiences with his company). I did a quick look through and because the work was all on the roof could not see much. I opened the toy hauler door and the rear ac had wires and sheet metal hanging down and no cover. I did not come home with my RV. 9. I was told Camping World would pay to have the unit towed to my house after the above was fixed. I got an email the work was done and the unit would be delivered on Friday June 26, 2015. I requested that someone plug the unit and insure the ac units could be controlled by the thermostats and that the driver delivering the unit call me when he got close so I could guide him in to where the camper would be parked. I got no call and called Camping World to check on the delivery. I asked to speak to Ashley and was told he was not at work today, I explained my issue and requested I talk to someone about this, she transferred me to some ladies voice mail that said she would return my call by 5pm. I hung up and called again and asked to talk to a live person, I got transferred to Doug. I explained the issue and he said he would check on the status. About 10 minutes later he called and told me no one was scheduled for the delivery and no one was available to deliver it. 10. While at the service advisory desk I noticed a sign that said repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own your RV. I asked two service advisers about that and one said yeah well that is only for 12 months, the other service adviser said yeah I guess they are guaranteed for as long as you own your RV. I would like to know what the policy is. 11. I gave the maintenance supervisor Paul Caglin a copy of this list and he blew me off saying he was busy. He never got back with me. After sending the above complaint to camping world hq via their web site they sent it right back to the person i delt with originally ( Paul Caglin at the st augustine fl location) he told me there was nothing he could do about the carb that was replaced that didn' fix the problem or refund me the $900, also I could not get a detailed listing of why the estimate went up on the roof repairs which cost me an additional $400 nor refund me the money. Also I asked about the sign in the repair shop that said " we garante our work for as long as you own your rv" his answer to that was "of course we can't do that we would go broke" I have the carb that was replaced and the non itemized bill for the roof repair.

Camping World 50% Off On Propane Deal Review from Massillon, Ohio

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went in for the 50% off propane sale. Sunday afternoon in spring so should be a good day to make money. Was first told the only people that can sell propane were off. A cashier then said she could do it. After some shopping she found me to say she couldn't get in the gate. Left my items where Istood and left. Waste of a 40 minute drive. Same one i bought my trailer from too in Akron Ohio. Company is a joke. I would spend more elsewhere just so they never get my money again.

No Response from Lemois

Do not buy RV or Insurance from Camping World(CW). Have been a loyal customer seen day one, Lifetime Member, always purchasing all the insurance policies, Extended (ESC) Service Contracts, and even a Motor Home from them. All my pervious ESC in past were extendable. This time no. Cost would go from $1,000 for $100 deductible to over $6,000 for same. By the way, I spend over $5,000 in 2015 at CW store. Registered letter to Lemois on 12/15/2015 asking for help. No help at all! In past he prided himself on Customer Service. No more pride. Brings new meaning to the word and his TV program “Profit”.

Camping World - 2013 Keystone Montana Review from Mims, Florida

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
2 plus years ago my father had repair work done on a brand new 2013 keystone Montana 40ft 5th wheel. The coccoa Fl franchise did the work. One marker light was replaced. Father picked up camper, drive home. And parked the unit.he died soon after so camper has not been moved sin repair. 2016 i arrive to move camper with his truck and truck has tow package wiring issue. Call mobile rv repairman to troubleshoot. He first troubleshoots trailer to make sure all is ok. Finds that the marker light that was replaced was wired backwards, hot wire directly to ground and ground wire to hot on bulb.he repaired this and we hooked up a known good vehicle and was ok. Truck was not ok and independent repairman could not find the problem with the truck. He suggested the dealership. Took truck to dealership for diagonostc testing and he told me that the truck had been previously hooked up to a trailer with a direct short to ground Which caused the TIPM on truck to trip. Dealership did a reset on computer and all is ok now. Total cost because Of Camping World was $300.00.

CW in Cocoa is THE WORST!!! I took a coach there twice for warranty work and they did NOTHING!!

One problem I had was the toilet bowl didn't seal properly. Their answer was to smear Vaseline on the gasket at the bottom of the bowl. Yeah, worked for about 4 flushes, then was washed away. Some fix.

Idiots. Pasts guys are clueless and the managers do not return calls.

I dumped my Good Sam membership and will shop at Camping World ONLY out of total desperation. Haven't been that desperate in more than 3 years.

There needs to be a lemon law passed thru the state that helps customer deal with Camping World. They know that there is no law and they can lie and tell you anything they what. God will be the one that will judge these bad people and this company is run by a CEO that's the devil.

Camping World Jacksonville is great

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I wanted to let everyone know that we had a great experience with the service center there in Jacksonville FL. We came in to service center 04/02/2016 with a huge issue with our 2014 Cross Roads Camper. The roof material pulled away from under the fiber glass front while we where heading down 95 to Disney World. Jose Marrero and one of his team members quickly inspected the damage. Jose told us that they could fix it for now so we could start our vacation but it would need to be replaced once we got back home. 3 hours later we where back on the road. We had a great time and the patch made it there and back home through the rain with no leaks. GREAT job to the everyone that helped our family enjoy the annual vacation that we thought was going to be a bust.

Camping World - 2015 Heartland Pioneer Rv Review from Buffalo, New York

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I will give a little back story first. We were recently in the market for a new travel trailer. The family had outgrown ours, a Jayco Jayflight 26BH. We knew we wanted a quality TT because we have 3 kids and 2 dogs. We also wanted a pantry in the kitchen, at least 2 slides and actual doors in the bedrooms instead of curtains. We went to camping world to take a look at the inventory. We were met by our salesman J*****. I will say that he was a very nice, attentive salesman. If he worked somewhere else, he would probably do great. We were interested in a Heartland Mallard as it had everything we wanted in a TT. The price was O.K., not great. I talked with our salesman about the normal stuff, trade in, tax tag and title, and any manufacturer discounts. He runs some numbers and what he came back with boggled my mind!! There trade in offer was $6000 less than the other dealers we went and visited. I said absolutely not! Exit J** and enter the sales manager. He tried to explain to me how they have so many bunk houses for this price and that and he could never recoup his money off of my trade. He then acted like he would try to get more money for it. He comes back with a new number, only $4000 less than the other dealers! Another thing is now the sales price has changed, to the tune of $12,000! He tried explaining that he couldnt sell me that TT at the sale price and give me "so much" money for my trade. He then asked if I would be open to another brand. I said sure, if it were the same quality. He shows me a 2015 Pioneer. I dont recall the exact model but it was a 35' with 2 slides and a back room. No pantry, no doors for the rooms and no storage space. The cabinet doors were so flimsy that went you pulled them to open, they bowed out about 4" before opening! My wife and I said absolutely not! If i am going to spend that kind of money, i want what i want, NO COMPROMISE!! He then proceeded to tell me all the great things about this coach. I said i still wasnt interested. He said he would throw in a $250 gift card to buy storage tubs because of the lack of storage. What a joke. As we were leaving he gave me a workup sheet to think about. The price of the trailer, FULL MSRP! The sale price was $14,000 less. My trade, $4,000 less. Plus, Camping World charges a $1800 demo and prep fee! Needless to say i didnt buy from them. He manager said i wasnt serious enough. Well, i went the next day and bought exactly what were were looking for and for the price we wanted to pay. My advice is to stay well clear of Camping World. They will try to push you into a unit you dont want at a price that is insanely high. Go to one of the other various RV dealers around.

Horrible

Horrible sales service...we were quoted one price , when we agreed to purchase were informed that there was a misprint on the sales sheet. A $7500 misprint so they wouldn't honor there quote...Sounds like a switch and bait scam, I'm going to turn it in to the Consumer Protection folks and let them decide. At the very least POOR BUSINESS, I suggest you stay away from this place. Bad news. I hope anybody else that has had a similar experience will contact the Consumer Protection department and report them. I really do not want any body to have a similar experience. They are crooks and need to be stopped.

Sales department great. Just don’t take your RV to their service department.

Go to Myers or Rocky Mountain for service. They will lie to your face at this Good Sams service center.

If you do go there don’t bother with an appointment just stand in line and hope they even look at your RV within a week or so. I have made appointments and they don’t mean anything

Microwave bad on day one

I Purchased my camper at camper world Mesa AZ. The microwave was not checked properly. It does not heat food. It turns on and lights up and the fan runs. But it doesn't heat. The service department has given me the royal runaround and will not replace it. They want to pull it out and send it to the factory. Bad idea ! I will be on the road for the next 3 weeks without a microwave. So now I have to buy a microwave for my trip because you would not replace it from inventory. If this problem was uncovered before you had my money you certainly would have figured something out. This will be my last purchase from camping world
