Camping World Tucson, Az. Poor customer service.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
While my husband and I are full time R.V. er's, we had the need to visit Camping World while in Tucson, Az. We asked the lady at the front if she could contact someone to fill our propane tanks. She replied we had to wait in line at the checkout. Upon doing so the checker simply called the propane dept. She could've called rather than making us wait in a long line while she sat there filing her nails. Three weeks later we returned to the same store and asked the man at the parts counter if he could help us order a plumbing part that we brought in with us. He told us they didn't make those anymore and "Whatever we have is on the shelf over there." He was rude and seemed as though we were wasting his time. He could've at least asked to see the part we needed and directed us to whom to contact to replace our part. I thought Camping World was a customer service based company. We will avoid this company at all costs now no matter the location of the store.

Pros:
  • Campers if i had been able to look
Cons:
  • Customer service arrogance
Reason of review:
Poor customer service

Preferred solution: I want the customer service issues to be addressed with the employees of this store and let all employees know the importance of top notch customer service and if it weren't for people like me they wouldn't have a job.

Bought our fifth wheel August 2018. Had numerous problems.

Had it back at the dealership for two months to fix them. Went on our first camping trip with it. More problems, back to the dealership Concord, NC. Another 2 weeks.

Got it back. Have just taken it out for the second time and same problems all over again. Called them several times. Was put on hold each time for 20 minutes and gave up.

Which is exactly what they were aiming for.

Any class actions against them count us in!! johansen100@***.com.

Camping World - Rockwood Travel Trailer Review from Clinton, Mississippi

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We have looking at a travel trailer for a couple of months and finally decided to buy. We were very happy with our salesperson. We decided to decline the prep offer since this will be our 4th rv, our last being a new motor home. We aren' t new to the workings of an rv. Upon saying that, the SALES MGR.informed us that we would have to figure all the workings of the rv, no orientation, NO BATTERY, no hookup to our hitch, no propane. In the 4 other rv's we have purchased, we have never encountered such a ripoff ordeal. If this is the way Camping World does business, they dont need our business. I feel bad for our salesperson , becuase her sales mgr. blew the sale. Going to start looking elsewhere for our Rockwood travel trailor. Totally ridiculous sales tactics.

Sad to say this because I wanted to buy local, but CW was very rude when I tried to negotiate price the sales guy got puffed up and said "well if you don't need a battery and filled tanks.." so, we bought our Rockwood out of state.

Guest

I sell new Rockwoods.

I do it with a smile and respect, (we LOVE our customers) also free prep, walkthru, battery & propane. Also comes with a $40 credit in our store.

Been doing it that way FOREVER,

That's the only way we know.

Ha. What do you think a prep is.

To check all appliances and install a battery. Nothings free in life.

Guest

Makes wonder if the toilet comes without flush, the dining table comes without legs, stove with burners???? Who ever heard of buying a brand new trailer without a battery?

???? Punishment for not purchasing the 995.00 pretty pkg.??????

Very unprofessional, rude, do not email or call you back..If they think they can't make a sale they won't give you the time of day..Live chat customer service is clueless and really don't care.Leave a salesman messages and they won't call back.Submitted a credit app. over the computer like John told us to, called several times and never received a phone call back.Called customer service and they didn't know anything, just kept telling us that someone would get back to us shortly, that never happened..so if say you get turned down for a loan, they won't let you know..*** poor way to run a business.

Have tried for two weeks to get someone in service department to answer a call and or respond to voice message. 6 calls, three voice messages and no reply. Reception says " we are very busy and only one person in service department" got this reply on two occasions a week apart. Unbelievable, you would think that spring time would be the time to insure appropriate staff to provide some level of customer service. Needless to say I contacted local competitor and will be taking my RV to them today for the service I require.

Unfair trade in allowences

We purchased a 2012 keystone Laredo from camper world, draper, eight months ago. It is a fifth wheel and the steps to the bedroom are steep, Bought the trailer in Sept of last year in October I had to have back surgery, so I have to use a walker. Called the dealership and told them I needed a travel trailer because the stairs were a nightmare, I Paid $35,000 for it eight months ago ,they came back and told me the price would be out of the kindness of their little hearts they were going to give me the whooping price of $22,000 really it depreciated $13,000 in eight months. It's a 2012 it should have had all the depreciation already. plus they tacked on $2,300 tire protection, Good Sam for $1,000 and another extended warranty for $2,100 we didn't ask for. Read your paper work be for you sign anything.

read the paperwork on the extended warranty, GoodSam and the tire protection, you might be able to get a prorated refund on those. Some companies allow this, but not all.

Camping World Customer Care Review

DJ at the Madison WI Camping World is a ***. Dont ever try to buy a camper from him! Extremely rude and very unprofessional. I'm not quite sure how he still has a job there. He's a liar, disloyal to the company and customers and cheats his way to try to get to the top. The company should take and long hard look at him and fire his ***. I will never step foot in that place ever again.

Bait and Switch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Made over a 10 hour round trip to purchase a new rv . I asked the sales man 3 times for the final balance. We got there ready to purchase his number was 12 k higher. I have 2 other quotes in writing that are 12000.00 less than there price. Total scammers the sales managers sit in a glass locked room probably to protect them from the consumers they have ripped off. We will never purchase anything from camping world again . Be careful if you purchase anything from them they will scam you. They try and charge 160.00 for a 70.00 battery and 60.00 for 12.00 in propane.

Inaccurate Billing for Online Purchases

Camping World - Inaccurate Billing for Online Purchases
Advertised a white Screen door cross bar handle for $11.75 but billed me full price at $12.99 on my email invoice! Also the tax on invoice was incorrectly calculated for LA County. Should be 9% of purchases. They are charging more. Most likely collecting tax on shipping charges with poor software or deliberately higher. This is against the law! The only reason they continue to exist, is because RV'ers don't have too many other choices for supplies. They use antiquated software, their stores are dead inside, they push Good Sam membership down your throat in store and bombard you with mail and email when it provides no service whatsoever. I can get a discount on supplies with Good Sam for a $25 membership, but I can also buy the same item on Amazon with no membership, cheaper. When your bill is wrong, that is patently illegal and inexcusable. This discredits them completely. I cannot trust any billing from them, and will never, ever give them my credit card info again. The amount charged incorrectly is very small, but it is wrong.

Then buy it on amazon instead. Amazon has better deals than most stores you go to so your point is??? A business cannot just give things away at cost.

What a waste of time where

All of there units have damage inside and out including new ones. Check carefully before you buy. They run it like the old school car dealerships with ignorant manager yelling loud enough that all other dealers campers are junk. They add about $1500.00 - 2000.00 to price after you agree to a price to cover freight, prep.and other charges. The are so focused on getting your money down as a "deposit " to hold it. Look at all the broken trim and missing stuff from all the "new campers " wish I would have read all the negative reviews first. I would have drove over to Avalon RV and not wasted time. They also offer you less than 1/2 of Kelly blue book value. I only wish they had a ounce of class

Invisibrake

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had an invisibrake installed in my Cadillac SRX and wired into my 2016 Itasca Ellipse. I just returned from my first road trip and had a trouble free trip. Matt was my service manager and Chuck was the installation tech. Both of them went the second mile with this installation. The job was completed in the time frame as presented. They returned all my phone calls even after I had left, as I had an additional operational question. They answered all my questions, patiently explained the operational procedures. I am very pleased with this experience!

Don't buy from Camping World

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My husband and I spent over $21K on a 2015 Coachman Catalina Camper. The salesman told us everything was checked out and it was in great shape. We checked everything on the inside that we possible could. We asked that one of their sale personal delivery it for us. The guy was 3 hours late with the delivery then after 3 weeks of living in the camper we have discovered a water leak underneath. Called an spoke with a manager and he said due to the fact it was reowned they couldn't warranty the camper and advised we bring it back so their service department could look it over. I told him that we were told the service dept. looked it over but they most have missed the fact that it leaked water and the roof needed repair (which my husband has already done). We will not give Camping world any more of our money ever. I suggest you don't either.

Camping World Customer Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Found a camper advertised on-line. Spoke with salesman at Harrisburgh location and was informed that the camper was in great shape but was not on there main lot. Was informed that we would be notified when it would be. Got the email Thursday that the camper was at their lot and made an appointment Friday evening for Saturday morning. Told them we would be driving 3 hours and we would be there at 9am to see it. 2 hours and 45 minutes into our drive the salesman calls and says "hope you have not left yet". Then tells us that he made a mistake and that the camper was not at their main lot yet. It was at an auction lot. After a few choice words with them, I informed them to figure something out and upon arriving they we able to get approval for us to go to the auction lot. The camper turned out to be a real piece of *** and was at the auction because they could not sell it at their lot and it still had not sold at the auction. The salesman started to give us the "what do you expect for a camper in this price range". I stopped him and reminded him that he told us that the camper was in great shape. Not horrible shape with multiple water leaks, a soft floor and broken bathroom door. Not happy to say the least.

Warrant Refund - NOT

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Run, don't walk away from this Camping World. When we purchased a new motorhome in May 2015, two different extended warranties were also purchased. As a side note, when you purchase new, wait till the manafactures warranty is about to expire. You will save money in most cases. We traded in the motorhome in March 2016. We think we canceled one of the extended warranties, but haven't seen a refund. The other warranty Administered by Safe-Guard Warranty Corporation can't be refunded according to Safe-Guard. Even Camping World didn't know that. Now Camping World will not stand behind their brand make make things right by the customer. This is on top of our motorhome spending 5 months in the service department with only one critical item being repaired. We took the motorhome out of Camping World's service department and drove to a factory service center to have all the warranty items repaired and they even corrected what Camping World tried to repair. If you must shop at Camping World, go to a different store.

Wrong Part

I was assured that the thermostat I was buying would work for my new RV a/c. I did take the part ( $120) and when it was to be installed I was told it was just a cover and that I need the replacement to switch from android to updated computer . I purchase the part in early April and returned it May 2. It was not 30 days. The manager said it is our policy not to return you money but give you a store credit? At no time or is it written on the sales receipt that electronics must be returned in 30 days. I told him you sold me the wrong part and it is under 30 days and I want my money returned. I had to continue with this manager for 5 to 10 minutes before he said. We do not do that but I will make an exception this time. Really you sold me the wrong part it is up to your company to make the situation right. I will never purchase from this company again. You are overpriced and have no concern for your customers. Not even a word about them selling me the wrong item. Beware of this company the customer is not always right or is never right.
