Camping World in Greenwood, Indiana - Service

1.8
Details
Bought a camper in July of 2016, when we went to pick it up we sat for about 1hour before anyone did the walk thru with us. The guy who finally did the walk thru was in a hurry and didn't know much about anything. He said sigh off on this and we can all go for the evening. We were told when we purchased the Good Sam Extended warranty we were told we would go to the head of the line if we had any service issues. Not true, we have several things wrong with the camper from the window treatment coming off the wall to a leak in the bedroom ceiling when I called twice to get service they tell me the waiting list is 100 people deep and if I want service I am more then welcome to drive it to the Richmond store, What wait really why would I drive an 1 to 2 away just to get service on my brand new camper. I will never recommend anyone to ever buy anything from camping world. Still haven't gotten any service done on the camper 8 months later.

Camping World - Thor Motor Coach Rv Review

Buying your rv from this dealership is a huge mistake. I purchased mine brand new from them 7 months ago. I did a walk through prior to purchase and made note of multiple issues wrong with the rv. These issues were noted on a we owe and were all signed off by the guy who does the contracts. 7 months these issues still have not been fixed. For the first 2 months I was told they were super backed up but once the parts arrived we'd be able to move forward. Suddenly it turned out they hadn't ordered the parts and the employee who had signed the we owe technically "wasn't supposed to have signed off" without the head guy there. So a few months go by with no progress because they are "talking with corporate". Meanwhile I'm calling them at least once a week typically more frequently and my calls are never returned and answers are not forthcoming. The tv fell partially off the wall because it wasn't properly attached so I took it to them to reattach. They reattached it with the buttons inaccessible because they had the tv laying on the shelf. A drawer hadn't been fully attached in assembly and I had missed it during the initial walk through but found it a few days later. After much hemming and hawing I was able to get it taken care of but "the fix" involved screwing the drawer such that it didn't open. Additionally one of the initial issues was that the shade was broken in the back. The biggest window that allows you to see outside. They attempted to fix it and ripped it partially out of the wall during the fix and then tried to use the slide and broke the valance. I was then told my rv was ready for me and the slide was still out and saw what had happened but when I went to ask for some sort of fix was told all the techs had already gone home. I was left sitting in the parking lot with a slide that wouldn't close a broken valance and no way to talk to anyone from camping world about it so I ended up having to remove the thing myself. I have a good number of other issues on the rv that should be covered under warranty but I'm terrified to bring the rv back to camping world because of what they will break next.

Camping World - Terrible sales staff

Salesman tried to get my young daughter with a $1200 PDI fee for checking out her new camper before she bought it and a $399 processing fee this is crazy I was glad I was there to keep them for screwing over a young person who was not familiar with crooked salesman. He kept telling us that everyone pays these fees I bought one 5 months before and refused them and he kept telling me I paid them he was wrong and we didn't pay them for this one either.i will not go back nor recommend this company to others.I think they try this on everyone but get the young and older people that is not aware of these tactics

60 year old single woman here and they took me for $795 PDI fee to guarantee everything is OK with the unit at time of purchase. Drove it home 30 minutes away, parked it in driveway.

2 months later took it out on first camping trip 4 miles from the camping world where I purchased and set up the trailer and plugged it in and the air conditioner would not work. They came out and inspected and said the compressor was blown and then claimed I must have done something to it and that it would be my out of pocket cost to install a new one. Don't buy from Camping World.

Wished I had read the thousands and thousand of complaints against this company before making my RV purchase which was paid cash in full. BIG lesson learned.

Camping World - Part not "working correctly" when we purchased Class C

1.5
Details
Purchased our 1st Class C from Camper World in Calera, AL. When we first looked at Class C, the battery was dead, had to be jumped off on their lot; we liked and felt like we were receiving an honest presentation - we were told that the Class C had a part that could cut the battery off/ basically saving the battery / then you turned the part on... and you had a working battery. Wrong. We had the expense of purchasing two (2) batteries from Camper World in Calera, AL and still "dead" batteries wherever we go. We just had the Class C equipped to tow a car ($3200) so we were at Camper World and, guess what, dead battery when they tried to return the Class C to us. We were "told" that the "part" should work but it didn't. We told them that the part should have worked in the first place. They said they would order one but at OUR expense. Pitiful and just plain old highway robbery. I will take whatever legal steps I can to have the part corrected at their cost. Beware of this company.

Camping World - Great sales person

We went to Cedar Falls Camping World a couple of weeks ago to look at rvs. I had emailed them about a particular rv and did not remember who I had emailed with. Brandon Rogers was a great person, met us at the door, obtained all of the answers for the questions we asked and was able to get us trade value on our campers promptly. He has been very helpful since then. Although they did not have exactly what we were looking for, he continued to promptly answer emails and any questions we had. I would definitely recommend him and I wish they had the rv we probably are going to buy

Camping World - Rv Warranty Review

1.9
Details
Came in for "warranty work" on a 4 month a/c that doesn't work. Took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us then the first thing Sonya (woman at the counter) stated, it's Monday and it's our busiest day so it won't be until after lunch if we can even look at it then. Looking at her in disbelief due to her poor attitude, I said the a/c is blowing air at 76°. She prceeded to roll her eyes and say, "It will be a process because its warranty work and we'll have to send it back." My husband asks how are you sending it back, it's on top of my motorhome. She let out a digusted sigh and said, "The paperwork, it's warranty work and it's a long process." Needless to say, I suppose we'll have to go to the main office in Bowling Green to get something done. DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH CW, THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GIVE EXCUSES TO NOT WORK ON YOUR UNIT.

Chattanooga Camping World A JOKE

2.3
Details
Several months ago my family and I decided to buy a travel trailer. Since we are Disney veterans and were tired of staying at the resorts we started looking for the perfect trailer. Well it started the second you walk into the Chattanooga Camping World. I thought I was back in basic training when the drill sergeants ran at you and started drilling you. They wanted my name, # and what I was doing there. So the smart *** I am I gave them a fake name and # just to get past them to look at RV's. Keep in mind the entire time several sales men were driving around the lot in golf carts just staring at us. To say the least this pissed me off even though we found the RV we wanted. So we left. On a business trip the following week in FL we decided to stop by the Camping World in Kissemmee FL. A very nice lady by the name of Jane introduced herself and stated if we needed anything she was right her and for the family to enjoy looking at all the inventory. So we did. We kept walking back to the same one we looked at in Chattanooga. Keep in mind we live 10 minutes from the Chattanooga store. We then left getting Jane's card which I called the following week and told her I would take it. That week back home I wanted to measure something in the bunk so I had to drive back to Chattanooga. Again telling them a fake name and # just to get by all the sales people at the front door. I told them that I was buying my camper from FL and just needed to look at something. 10 minutes later the manager came out and started bashing the FL Camping World and said they are horrible and I needed to buy from them. I just smiled and left. Following week was back in FL and picked up my trailer. EXCEPTIONALLY great customer service Jane!!! Fast forward to today, I just called Chattanooga to get a spare tire since I thought I purchased one but didn't. My fault. The service department just told me to call a clutch place downtown that they don't sell spares they only get them for customers? Confused, I asked what am I? She stated it isn't going to happen and have a nice day. I am blown away Camping World corporate does not hire or have someone go to each store and witness the management and customer service they provide. From the spare tire to the attacking of a potential customer to the management bad talking other stores is just a big JOKE. If my RV needs service or when I decide to trade up, I guarantee Chattanooga Camping World will never be on the list to purchase. It's a crying shame Jane in FL works for the same company and has excellent customer service EVEN AFTER THE SALE compared to the goat ranch in Chattanooga.

Camping World - Very Poor Customer Service

2.0
Details
My husband and I saw a TV commercial about a Camping World sale that ran from 2/15/17-2/26/17. I called the closest location and the woman confirmed that the sale was going on. We drove 45 miles to that location, which was out of state. We looked at numerous travel trailers in a lower lot and finally called them and asked for a sales person to assist us. We were told they would send someone but that all campers that weren't sold were unlocked for us to see inside. We spent close to 1.5 hrs. going through the available travel trailers in 2 different lots. Finally went up to main building and I let receptionist know that we had called 1.5 hrs. ago asking for assistance but no one ever came. There was only one travel trailer, a 2016 model, that we were interested in and asked for the price. Even though this was a "new" travel trailer, we were told this particular unit had been on their lot the longest of any unit they had. Salesman gave us a price, which was their regular price, and said the price would be cheaper Fri-Sun when their sale was going on (this was on Thursday, the day before the "sale"). I told him we saw their advertisement on a local TV station that said the sale ran from 2/15-2/26. We made an offer, with changes, and while we were waiting on their response, my husband wandered the aisles, looking at their merchandise. Several sales people passed him but never offered to help him. They made us a counter offer, without changing the price and refused to accommodate us with the changes we asked for. You would think they would be interested in selling it since the 2017 models were already on the lot. We left Camping World with a very uneasy feeling and "bad taste in our mouths." After we got home, we researched the reviews of particular travel trailer we were interested in and also Camping World reviews. We were astounded at the negative reviews of the unit we liked and the dealership. From the reviews, this is the norm for all Camping Worlds. And according to negative reviews, Heaven forbid if you have a problem and need the unit serviced at a later date! We are both so thankful that we walked away from this "deal!" Beware of Camping World!!
