We did not get out of Camping World in Tampa until actually after they closed the store. That put us 28 miles from home on the other side of Tampa driving through rush hour (last about 3 hours here) traffic.

And still they did not have the right parts and they left us with a left turn signal that did not work most of the time. It did work before. So we waited another couple of weeks for them to get parts in and made the first available appointment we could. That was today.

We were only there a couple of hours. They fixed the short in the signal light but still did not have the right back up lights. They found some on Ebay and are having them shipped directly to our home. We will have to install them....

so another $118 on the credit card with compiling interest so we can go on our scheduled vacation. I will not even begin to tell you how upset I am.

But the people there are friendly and kind. Always nice to get a smile when you get the shaft!

Bought used RV about 17 months ago. We had to call company because it got a flat tire as soon as we got home and there was no stem to air. Before ever using it we attempted to start the generator to cool down Refrigerator. Generator didn't work. Took it back to CW. They said it was just low on oil and it didn't have a leak. Cost us over $100 to find out. Got to NY (from FL). Generator didn't work To it to CW in NY. The said genatir had leak and put a new seal on it (we had to pay for motel room). Another $300. It work a couple of days and stopped. Took it back in NY. Now it needed bearings and they couldn't get parts. Extended warranty people said they only pay for parts. But the company is out of business. After a few weeks warranty people agreed to pay $500 toward a new generator but we had to pay rest. In meanwhile we purchased an external generator. Windshield wipers fell off. Etc etc. anyway Now we were told almost 2 months ago the had to order wiper arms and tail light assembly. (We bought it in because we had another flat tire) got the 45 point inspection. They stripped a lug nut Lost a couple of the decorative nuts. We were told the roof needed sealed and a few other things that should have been taken care of when we bought it. Now we were called that wiper arms and tail light assembly was in and made a 10 appointment for today. We were told 2-3 hours. We have been here since 9 AM. It is now 3:38PM. The have the wrong tail lights so it will be another trip over here in Tampa traffic. We are both diabetic and I do not have any insulin with me. Nor is there any place we could walk to and get food. There is popcorb available here and a snack machine but if your a diabetic you know anything in there is a "no". I have already called corporate once. I am now to point of talking to local news and/ or a lawyer. I am so frustrated with then. Oh and hour and half ago they told us 29 mins.

The only satisfaction I have received was a statement made by the warranty department at Forest River "if I owned a trailer and needed service on it, and Camping World was at the end of my driveway and the next nearest repair shop was a thousand miles away, i would drive the thousand miles".

By the way, the magazine TRAILER LIFE thinks they hung the moon.

Very poor customer service-Saukville, Wi. Camping World

I agree with Jay L. Camping world was so grossly over priced and unwilling to negotiate. They try to dictate what you will be paying. I had quotes from other dealers and banks with interest rates and monthly payments, so I knew my numbers before going in. Camping world failed on all levels of customer service, they want you to pay for it. They wanted us to pay for a walk through of THEIR camper once we bought it, fee of $700, and to pay for THEIR shipping fee to have THEIR product shipped to THEIR lot, so they can sell you THEIR product (another $700). Oh, yea, they don't include a battery either, they make you pay for that, too! Any other additons will cost you, they made that crystal clear. ( They have a little binder to prove it to you). We have many friends that have travel trailers and they have all shared their experiences. Camping world cannot even compare to the competition that is out there. Example: Our friends financed/ payed $18,000 for their travel trailer, 12 year loan, their monthly payment is $140/month, no walk through fee, no shipping fee, and the battery was included. Camping world dictated to us that it is $10/$1000 dollars, our payment would be $180/month, plus all the other add expenses through them. We went straight to a smaller local dealer that same day and got a travel trailer the same size with more amenities and upgrades for less money. No walk through fees, no shipping fees, and they through in a battery, installations of slide out awnings, sway bar with installation, and weight distribution hitch with instillation (E2 system...top of the line) all for free (included in sticker price). We have been researching and shopping for the last few years. We are not new to camping or campers/rv's. Camping world rates at the bottom of our list. We rarely write reviews, but we felt that it is our duty to look out for our camping community family. Good luck! David and Christine

Camping World - Rv Repair Review

Totally, utterly, disgusting. I have NEVER been so appalled at a U.S buisness in my life. Please do not give camping world a single penny. They are theives, yes literally. We have over 3500.00 invested in the kingston ny store for a truck camper that we drove over 7 hours for. Spoke to a 22 yr veteran saleman for two weeks prior to arrival and required specific needs for a one ton diesel long bed dually pulling cargo behind it. We are first time buyers and trusted this buisness with our lives. They quickly installed a tie down system to our truck when we arrived, and placed a 6 ft bed camper on our truck. Then angry that we didnt accept the 3 foot gap between our cab and camper. Charged us 1000.00 for the tie down system that they had drilled 20 holes in the truck bed and bumper for. Later to find that the system was not made for large trucks and campers. So its useless. Had the odasity to demand we overnight mail to them the coupon book given to us. I firmly believe that the lord was watching over us because if we had left that facility with a 3500+ pound camper tied down with "BREAD TIES" we may not have even made it back home. They do not care. At. All. So sad. And not a single refund to date. Total nightmare. Did i mention we still have a loan for a camper that is still on their lot??!!! #camperlesspissedconsumer#

I have e-mailed three times, left messages on the "Live Chat" asking for information on selling my 5th wheel, which was purchased at Camping World in Bartow, Florida only three years ago. I do want to sell it but didn't happen to mention that I had my eye on one of their C class RV's. Just wanted to see if I would get a response. I wasn't disappointed. Not a call or e-mail! That's the problem isn't it? Everyone wants to sell you a product but forget the customer, once they leave. I'll bet that after reading this complaint, I get all kinds of e-mails and apologies and "I'm sorry, we didn't get your request"

Bought a camper from Tom Raper, horrible service now bought by Camping World... they sold us a camper that had sat on their lot for way to long.. after they sell they don't want to hear from u never resolve any issues . Got extended warranty didn't help or change things!! Once I would like them to stand up and do the correct thing! Lost my keys they mailed them to me 8 months later .. camper is ***!!

I totally agree with you. Have experienced almost the same thing.

Horrible service there.

I could go on and on, but not enough time or space. Anyone considering purchasing an RV there should read the reviews first.

Camping World - High prices in service

Details
Took RV in for oil change. Also asked them to check the jack, steering for to much play in it. Came out with a bill of $437.00.. Will never go there again!!! Rip offs!!!!!!!!! Had we known they were going to charge so much we would have never ask the to look at the jack or check the steering. Most of the cost was for labor.. I guess it took them at least three hours for a one to two hour job... They could have at least given us a heads up on how long it may take.. Not that they care. Way to much money.

Same experience in Marion, NC...cannot trust these people! Period.

Had a water leak under sink in cabinet after our first trip. Took it in for repairs and they said they found no leak but charged u $151.97 to look and see that there was no water. Had there been a leak our warranty would have bought the parts, repaired it at no charge. Instead, they found no water and owed them the above amount for looking.

They are total idiots. Please take all the 1615 complaints serious and stay away.

Similar experience with Camping World in Arkansa. 2 hours to install awnings.

We stood there and watched the guy do it. 1/2 hour, was still changed for 2 hours labor, said we had to pay for him to have lunch and do paperwork???? Then $119 for "misc" use to call it "rag" charge until I would tell them, I wanted the rags I paid for.

We will not use Camping World again. I think they have been Franchised, so no longer have control over the new greedy owners.

Camping world calera has the worst customer service among all camping worlds. New manager same horrible service. Keep expectations low because that is exactly what you will get. No follow up on service. No common courtesy. They give all camping worlds a bad name. I will never buy from them again. When you walk out the door all service ends.

I took my 2008 Senaca motor home for furnace repair, After the service department said they checked the furnace out and everything was working right i took the unit home, I started the furnace it warmed up and shut down, not working right, I removed the outside cover and found a mud daubers nest built in the fan unit and the control board covered with dirt, I removed the nest and cleaned off the board, after cleaning the board the furnace was still operating bad, i removed the board and took it to camping world for testing, I asked the service department for testing they said they don't have the proper testing equipment and couldn't test it. I asked how they had tested my furnace and charged me 170 dollars for doing so if they didn't have testing equipment? They blew me off!! so i was pissed i went to the parts department and bought a new replacement board they opened the package and compared the boards to make sure they matched, i went home it had began to snow so i put off installing the new board until it was nice outside, i installed the new board it also was defective. the fan on the furnace would not run at all. I returned the board to camping world they said it wasn't the board even though i had it tested at another shop before returning it!!! I have never returned anything to them before and there customer service person tells me it can't be returned because it was electronic and the package had been opened!!! which they had done and how do you know if somethings good or not until you have access to it!!!! I have spent thousands of dollars at camping world over the last 25 years and will never be spending another dime there!!!

I see I am not the only one with a terrible time with camping world. I bought a new Thor motor home at the Camping World in Bartow, Fl. I have had it back at least 10 times now. Every time I have something done, I have to look at their work and end up doing it the right way myself. I have never had such a bad experience with a company.I made several calls to see when my coach would be ready. My phone calls were answered twice with no idea when I could come and get it. They knew i already made campground reservations for the next week . I called several times and nobody answered the service line. I left messages with Tammy. Susan, Misty,Daniel, and the elusive service manager that hides in a office that you cannot even see him. NO RETURN CALLS! I finally called the service dept. and blocked my phone ID and you guessed it, they have caller ID and will not answer your call when they see who it is. The blocked number worked. Daniel told me they were working on my coach. It was ready that afternoon. When I picked it up it was obvious that the service dept. ignored my calls when they could see who it was. Some work was not completed and when I asked Daniel if I could have paperwork on the work done, she said there was no paperwork, they just fixed it.????????????? I brought the coach home and was getting ready for our trip, now the overhead bed above the cockpit will not come down. I will take it to Kissimmee Fla. to have the work done. I wilI never go back to Camping World in Bartow. I would definitely never consider buying another anything from this company. Do not even think of going there, unless you want to join the mass of people that have already been sadly disappointed. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My new motor home is going to lazy Days in Tampa and I will eat the difference and get rid of Camping World for good.

Omg! Something needs to be done at a higher level to make this company step up.

I called so many times with no one returning phone calls and it rings and rings. I've been there and watched the girls talk stand around with phones ringing! Bad business!! They sold us a lemon!!!!!

I thought Tom rapers service was horrible omg!! I didn't think they could get any worse but they sure did. No pride in their easy a jobs!!! No one cares!

I can't believe camping world is still in business.. our camper is trash !!

Even an extended warranty does no good!! I hope people read this before deciding to buy from them

I am writing this online and I will also be mailing letters to both the headquarters and the service center that had our RV for months. On 7/13/16 we dropped off our 2002 Western Alpine Coach to have minor service done explaining that we needed this back no later than 8/24/16 for travel plans that had already been reserved. And on 8/3/16 was told that "should be able to accommodate request". Well low and behold of course that didn't happen and with all of our belonging including food in cabinets and elsewhere in RV. Every Time a call was made by either of us we were told by the RV employees it was one thing or another for why we couldn't have our RV back and now and next thing you know we are in October and I guess your only service tech had an emergency and could not continue work on the RV, that is after many excuses of why the cylinders were not back yet. Well now all of a sudden it 10/26/16 and low in behold they fine "other things wrong" just out of the blue. Now keep in mind the cylinder that was send out and came back don't you know "blew while testing" and need to order and should have ready by 11/21/16. Keep in mind we told them that we are having company from Texas and New Jersey and need this RV for them to sleep in that we do not have the room at our house.. Well company arrived and RV still not ready. Company had to sleep on a blow up mattress "she is 91 years old" and other company had to go stay at the Crown Inn from 11/20-11/23/16 and please keep in mind this is after flying to come see us for Thanksgiving, that they had to sleep in a Inn which was not fair to them to have to pay for a Inn because of the incompetency of all of the employees involved with this. On 11/22/16 was told we could come get the RV well we did only to find out that we had to return it back on 11/23/16 that the other cylinder had blown. Did not receive our RV back until 12/20/16 and between the 11/22/16 bill which was $2,550.22 and the 12/20/16 bill which was $1,266.94 you are talking about a total of $3,817.16. Not counting all the inventory in the RV left in there for 4 months, not being able to go on our trips for the prime travel time, not being able to have our out of state company use it and them having to pay for an Inn and sleep on an air mattress at the age of 91. But the gull of this company to turn around and have to nerve to charge us not once but twice for things they were not our fault. This seemed like a total scam of a way to make money from a loyal customer but never again. This was not the only issue we had come in earlier in April and was charged $2713.68 and I guess I should have known not to go back. This is an embarrassment to me that I had to have family stay at a Inn paying $210.00 after paying for airfare and having my 91 year old mom sleep on a blowup mattress for the holidays. I will not recommend Camping World or Camping Time RV Centers, LLC to anyone because you do not look out for the customer but to rip off the customer that is required to leave the RV with your establishment for the best part of RVing season for 4 months and not to mention having to throw out all the food and other belongs that sat in the RV for the hot summer and the fall. To be charged this amount like I have said I am not sure how the mechanic Shannon Holt and the Service Manager TW can sleep at night. I also have ALL of my receipts along with the details of each call along with the Inn receipt for $210.00; I can give you an estimated total of all the items I had to throw away after the RV sitting on your lot for 4 months. Please get back to me for any further information you require. If I do not hear back from anyone I will mail this same letter to the head of Camping World and Camping Time RV Centers, LLC.
