Update by user Mar 22, 2017

Finally received an answer that the original finance company lost the original and that they had to file for a new title. Company advised us that they had the lien release from the last owner.

Original review posted by user Mar 22, 2017

We purchased a camper from the Wentzville in February. We signed all the paperwork along with the titling paperwork but never received the paperwork to license the unit. We took the new camper home and had a temp tag placed on the unit. It is now approaching the end of the month and our temp tag is getting ready to run out. We still have no title and when we call we are told they had to order a duplicate? Why??? No one can explain anything to us and no one can tell the truth. We have received our payment book from the finance company and I asked them shouldn't you all be on the title as a lien holder isn't this kinda strange? Still confused on what to do so we are speaking to a lawyer right now. I'm not paying for something that's not mine. Word of advise buy from somewhere else.

Camping World - Not a happy camper

1.0
Details
Poor Service Department, called to see if they did warranty work on camper happy jack system and they made me an appointment. Asked if I can drop the camper off a couple days before the appointment and no problem. Arrived only to find out the appointment date was not what I was told. Then they tell me I could not leave the camper. Now for the big one, the mechanic tells the service department he doesn't do that type of warranty work. Camping World Service is a waste of time and the rest of Camping World is most likely the same. My recommendation is to look elsewhere first and make them your last choice.

Camping World - Rodent Infested trailerr

2.3
Details
We took our Alpine 5th wheel to Camping World in Kissimmee, Florida on Oct 31 , 2016 for repairs on a new air conditioner they installed 8 months earlier and also for some hurricane damage. They finally had the repairs completed on January 11, 2017. When they brought the truck out to hook it up to the truck it had a flat tire. They acted completely surprised that we wanted to have it fixed. Then we drive directly from Kissimmee to Patrick AFB 2 hours away. Our mistake was that we did not go into the trailer before leaving their place. Once we got to Patrick AFB and started to hook it up we noticed *** in the water compartment and all this insulation. Upon going inside the trailer we also found a lot of destruction from a rodent or rodents. The rodent ate through the side of the fiberglass to gain entry, then are 5 of our 7 floor heat vents, ran through all of the AC ducts where droppings are seen, ate *** in the floor of the trailer and carpet, and ate numerous pieces of the wood molding and blinds. When i called Michael Braham the general manager he writes back telling me they do not have a rodent problem and that they have a team of cats on the premise The service tech that signed it in was Adam and he never even asked him what it looked like inside when we dropped it off. We had been living in the trailer and it was immaculate when we dropped it off. We have a witness who got to see the trailer at Patrick and he wrote a statement on our behalf. We also had dated pictures. We contacted out insurance company within 30 minutes of finding the damage and we also have date stamped pictures. This camping world is the worst facility we have ever dealt with. Total neglect for the customer. No concern what so ever. They parked the trailer up near a fence right next to a dumpster.

Camping World - Jayco Rv Review
We bought a 27' Jayco 5th wheel which after 2 outings we wanted to gave a handful of items looked at. We took it back to have warranty work done on it and after 10 days hadn't heard from them so I called and they told me that they didn't know it was still in their possession. I went the next day to pick it up. We checked out the handful of items that were to be addressed and left with it. We arrived back at the storage unit, when i got out of the truck I noticed damage to the top right of the trailer. I immediately called them to let them know and they told me to bring it back the next day, which I did, 50 miles back one way. The service manager knew immediately what had happened and said he'd send it off for repair. It's been 2 weeks now and they gave no idea when it will be ready, I called again today and once again got a voice recorder, left a message and haven't heard back from them. They've had trailer for 25 out of the past 26 days and still no idea when it'll be ready. This is the poorest excuse of customer service I have ever experienced.

Camping World in Woodstock, Georgia - Misinformed and lied to

1.9
Details
I was working with Ben from Camping World of Woodstock regarding a 1999 Windsport for $14,990. We live over 6 hours away from Woodstock but were willing to make the trip to purchase the rv. Between texts and conversations we told him that we had cash to put down and were going to finance the rest. This text took place the weekend before we were planning to head there. The last text I received from him stated "do you need any info for the financing?" My understanding of this statement was that he was asking if we needed any info from him i.e. finance rates, length of loan etc.... Friday March 17th I texted him and said that we were planning to leave at 6am the next morning and would be there around 12-12:30. I then texted him once we were on the road the next morning to say we were on our way. I then sent him another when we were about an hour away to say we were on schedule and would be there about 12:30. When we got there we asked for him at the reception desk and he came out within 5 minutes. He said Tracy the delivery specialist would be out shortly to go over the rv with us and then sit down to do paperwork. I stated that my husband and I would like to go over it thoroughly before discussing financing. Ben asked what I meant by financing it, he said that they don't finance rvs that age, it's a 1999. I asked him why he didn't tell me that before we made the 6 hour trip. He said he did and I showed him my texts and nowhere does it say they wouldn't finance it. This was the first thing that put a bad taste in my mouth. Then he said that the rv didn't have a mattress in it but that WE could buy one for about $100-200. Second thing that didn't sit well with us. Again I asked him why he didn't tell us that before we made the trip and he said that he had just found out earlier that morning that there was no mattress. I looked at the pictures that HE had taken and sent to me and there was no picture of the bedroom up close but there was a picture from the front facing the bedroom. I zoomed in on that picture and you can clearly see that there is no mattress. I think that he purposely did not take a closer picture of the bedroom because it showed that there was no mattress. So he lied to us. Third thing that was not very professional was I had asked him if they sold car dollies and if so how much were they. I had said they were about $1000-1500 but that we could rent one from U-Haul for about $35 and then shop for one later. I agreed that was a good idea, this conversation took place about a week before our trip. When I asked about the car dolly he said that there was a U-Haul place close by. I asked him where and if they were open and also if they had a dolly. He said they should be open let me go found out where they are. He came back and said there were 2 U-Hauls within 5 miles. I asked again if they were open and had a dolly. He again said they should be. I asked if he would find out please. He left and came back stating that they were open. I had to ask a third time if they had a dolly, he said he didn't know but they should. I asked one more time to find out for me please and I never got an answer. We had now been there 30-40 minutes and hadn't even seen the rv. I asked the receptionist what was going on because we had a 6+ hour drive home. She called Ben and he came out and took us to look at the rv. Tracy the delivery specialist never came out ever. My husband and I looked at the rv insde and out. My husband is an auto mechanic and looked over the outside in detail. He saw that the tires were dry cracked and covered with Armorall to disguise the cracking. Ben then asked if we could come up with the remaining money. I asked if I could use a credit card to cover the balance and he said yes, but he would have to ask to make sure. My husband and I discussed it more and were really concerned about the cracking on the wheels and that there was no mattress. Ben came back to us and stated that they would only allow us to put $4000 on a cc. He then stated that there is a check cashing place up the road that would cash a personal check. My husband I agreed that we weren't gping to do that. We also expressed our concern about the tires. No reaction from Ben who then asked so your only concern is the tires. We said no and that we couldn't get all the money the way he suggested. I then said to my husband "let's start heading back, we have a long drive ahead of us." Ben said something to the effect of that he would contact me the beginning of the week and see if we were able to get a loan and when would we be back. We said we didn't know. We wasted a trip, totaling over 12 hours, not to mention spent an entire Saturday on the road not returning with an rv. The complete experience was such a let down. My husband and I left feeling lied to and that we had received horrible customer service from everyone we encountered at the dealership. Also they didn't seem to want to help us get the rv by working with us. For example if he had said that there was no mattress in the rv but that they were going to put one in that would've showed us that he really wanted our sale. Also when we mentioned that the tires were dry cracked he could've said that would replace them because he didn't want us driving the 6 hours back on bad tires. And the whole U-Haul situation was a big turn off. He could've looked into the location and hours and if they had a car dolly before we got there. I have been in car sales and my husband currently works at a car dealership as an auto mechanic and knows what to look for on a used unit. Again the whole experience was a wasted trip.

Camping World - Deal Review
I have been shopping for a new travel trailer.. I found one that I liked at Camping World.. I've been dealing with Camping World in Ocala Florida.. The trailer i liked was in Bartow Florida so i put a deposit down.. 3 days after the deposit was put down the unit was sold.. So i found one identical that was in Spartanburg S.C and I agreed to pay transportation to get it to Ocala. Camping World Ocala said the unit would be Delivered on March 16th and today is March 18th.. As of closing today the unit still has not arrived... This deal has been an absolute nightmare.. I would never recommend Camping World to anyone.. Todd Simpson Milam, TX

Ridiculous Customer Service After the Sale at Camping World

1.0
Details
We purchased a Class A Jayco from Camping World Asheville/Arden in October 2015. Based on the 2-year warranty, we took it back to the dealer for a punchlist December 2015 with a deadline of late March 2016. When we picked it up, all outstanding punchlist items weren't fixed. So we returned it to the Asheville location within the month. On the second attempt to correct our issues, our next camping trip proved the issues were not resolved. So, we took the Motorhome to the Camping World Concord location, hoping for a better customer service. Unfortunately we have found that Customer Service, regardless of location, is EXTREMELY POOR!! We took our Motorhome to the Concord location on November 11th with our outstanding punch list. We gave a gracious deadline of March 17 the following year for our next big planned trip. Today is March 17th and we have learned that we can't take our extended family in our Motorhome to a family wedding on April because it won't be ready. Alternately, we must rent hotels for 4-6 family members. It is difficult to justify the logic for the $$ monthly payment when it is not a available during important family milestones. Approximately 3/4 year of our 2-year warranty has been in the shop.

Camping World in San Bernardino, California - RV Damage as a Result of Inadequate Sealing of Roof

We need to talk to someone about poor service and the resulting damage to our RV. We brought our RV to the San Bernardino, CA Camping World on July 25th 2016 to diagnose a leak and perform the necessary repairs. Work Order # 14-3829928. The cost was $119 for the diagnosis and $1593.67 for the repair and new caulking of seams on the roof. In December we had significant rainfall at our house in Wrightwood. After the first of the year we went to get the RV ready for camping. We found the entire interior saturated. The mattresses were dripping wet. All inside walls and vents had water on or in them. Camping World does not service the interior of the motorhomes so we took it to a RV repair place in Victorville (Affordable RV Work Order # 6915). They surveyed the damage and reported it was major and it was the results of the re-sealing not being performed correctly nor completely. To date the roof and several panels have had to be removed completely. New parts have been ordered – some of which have been received. We expect repairs to be completed by April. So far the cost is running at $14,000 with additional cost likely. We have had the entire process documented and photographed. And of course damage of this sort is not covered by insurance. We want to know what Camping World is going to do to make this right. Please advise. Our next step is to engage legal assistance.

Resolved: Camping World - Customer Care Review

Put $1000 deposit down to hold travel trailer. During walk through found 3 puddles of water on floor. Orientation manager said it was from service guys power washing trailer with slider out. Not happy with answer and their lack of concern that this was ruining the flooring, we elected not to buy trailer( no contract was in place or signed) The sales manager threw a list of things that had been done to "prep" the trailer for the walk through and refused to return our deposit. Beware of the rush through orientation ( did not test microwave because he claims he didn't know how, really?) first response to water puddle was "where did that come from?" Because it was in front of the oven, no where near slider, then changed story to power washing issue, said happens a lot. So why do it if you know there are problems. Filing complaint with corporate, better business bureau and more. This is just stealing
