Camping World in Greenwood, Indiana - Sales person lied to me

1.8
Details
Me and my finance bought a travel trailer 2 weeks ago today was told buy our sales person Brandon the tipout needed work and will take about a week to fix. I asked him when will it be done and delivered he told me it would be done this week and we would have it delivered today at our campground. I went out last Saturday cleaned out our trailer we are trading in and had our owner of the campground tow it out this week. I waited all week for my sales person to call he never did as to when it will be fixed. So I called and talked to the garage tech he told me it won't be ready for another week or so. This pissed me off because now I have to pay my owner for the camper sitting in an open site if it will not be picked up by camper world by next weekend. I want to know why it takes 2 weeks for a part to ship and be installed we bought it from camper world in Indianapolis In in greenwood. My name is Joe Johnson My finance name is Dawn Laforest the trailer is in her name can someone please contact me soon My telephone number is 7658941927

Camping World - Extended Service Contract

Update by user May 29, 2017

May 29,2017 still waiting to here back. sent letter on 5/8/2017 with info to the extended warranty area ( Good Sam ESP) they said 4-6 weeks till I here back.

Update by user Apr 30, 2017

I have been trying to work with Camping World since January on this issue I have emails and voice mails telling me that the problem is the other locations fault. Dover FL service manager as well as a sales manager has even told me that the unit had a bad slide when we purchased it.

Original review posted by user Apr 29, 2017

we purchased a 2015 Jayco pinnacle fifth wheel from Camping World Madison WI in March 2016. We took out the extended warranty because it was a used unit. We took it out on three short trips around Wisconsin and had no problems with it. We set up a trip to stay the winter in Tampa Florida and on the way we ran into problems with the 17ft slide (on kitchen side) we contacted Camping World Madison WI and they contacted the Camping World Dover FL and asked them to help us. The slide no longer would go in and out. Dover sent a tech out to help get the slide out (it had to be forced out Schwintech (even the override would not let the slide free roll) slide would no longer work) Dover came and picked up our unit at the RV park finely on Dec 10th 2016 after three days of trying to get the slide to retract they got it in. Dover FL knew that we would be returning from WI on the 4th of Jan and that we would be in to pick it up. On the 3ed of January received an email midafternoon that the unit was not ready and that we should get a hotel room. During this whole time they told us that they had the parts and it would be ready when we returned. When we arrived to look at our unit we found that the whole 17 ft slide had been removed and the whole in side was in pieces. Dover told us that they found more problems with the unit and needed to call in the mfg. of the frame to look at it because they found that the outriggers were bent and that the frame was also bent. They call in someone to look at the frame and they did say that yes it was bent but it was within the normal specs for the unit. We contacted Wisconsin and they wanted us to return to Wisconsin and they wanted to look at it. We spent 12 days in a Hotel trying to get this issue solved. Florida saying that Wisconsin sold us a damaged unit and that they should pick up the cost for the repairs Wisconsin saying it is not their problem and the extended warranty saying that it is not covered under the warranty, but if you go to the website it shows that slides are covered on an extended warranty. I called my banker and had $7000.00 transferred from my 401K to pay for the repair because we were held hostage between both Camping Worlds if we would not have done this I think that we would still be living in a hotel) and signed to have the repairs done so we could get our unit back. If you look at the charges they took 10 hrs to fabricate the outriggers and weld them which is an over charge it took them three days to get in the slide to take it back to the shop again should not have taken that long, and then sixteen ours for repair and 12 hrs to remove the slide looks like all the hours were padded. Washing the unit which was not asked for $228.00. ellen.smith@goodsam.com james.callaghan@campingworld.com mgerdich@campingworld.com meaghan.pelischek@campingworld.com thamil@campingworld.com travis.haack@campingworld.com jerry.curry@campingworld.com Since January we have been in limbo Florida said that Wisconsin should reimburse us and Wisconsin saying no. As you can see below in the email still have not get this resolved. Can you help.

Horrible wxperiance at Camping World.

Worst buying experience I have ever had. My salesman tried to act like he knew what he was doing but he had not a clue. They get you in the door with advertised low prices but once you try to make a deal they throw out huge fees such as transportation vehicle inspection etc. In my case they added almost 10k worth of charges to the advertised price. I have had the trailer for a very short period of time and I am mad at myself for giving them my business. Do yourself a favor and go to a family run dealership. I love the RV but will never recommend or buy from camping world again. Jack

My experience was similar.i even asked about the ridiculous delivery fee. I didn't ask for the camper to be brought to their lot. And like you, I will never buy from Camping World again and I agree: find a family run business that actually cares about its customers

I hope they do also but if not join the rest of us and get a lawyer cause Keystone, Thor, Dutchman, et al Camping World all are bad news and do not honor contracts warrantees etc... they may string u along and in the end your warranty will expire and youll have a pile of junk... Good Luck, waiting and still paying after 4 years, on a leaking Dutchman reported prior to expiration....currently being litigated.

Camping World - Service sucks!

Purchased new RV in October 2016. Scheduled an appointment in Feb. for defective oven under warranty and dropped off at dealer Feb. 7. Picked it back up March 6 to use during Spring Break even though the problem was not fixed. They stated the replacement parts (thermocouple) would be in on March 15 so I would return the RV to the dealer after spring break to repair. Made another appointment to return to have the work done and dropped it off at camping world on April 8. At that time I was told the part is in and I would have the RV back in a couple of days. I called them on March 26 because I have not heard from them and they said they received the wrong part and had to re-order it. I have only owned this for 6 months and they have had it in the service department for more then a month and still counting. Appointments do not mean anything to these people.

They can't seem to fix anything right.

They have had it for a month to fix the floor the bubbled up.

Camping World - Poor service

Made an appointment for warranty work. Had to wait 2 weeks. When I dropped it off on Saturday I was told I could pick it up on the following Thursday. Called on Wednesday and was told they had a 2 week backlog. Asked why I wasn't told this when I left my camper, was told I should have been. They said they would put a rush priority on it. Called 1 week later, was told they were waiting for response from manufacturer and that my salesperson should have told me this. Asked for salesperson - not available. Asked for manager - not available. Left my phone number - have not received call back. Very disappointed with Camping World in Wentzville.

We sold our camper in January and I'm still trying to get our refund on the warranties. Dealing with Canping Workd in Deforest Wisconsin has been horrible. Travis Haack in finance doesn't do his job. Never ever buy anything from them again. Tammy Dunagan

Camping World - Rude, arrogant and generally indignant sales and finance folks

2.3
Details
Without a doubt the worst buying experience ever in Byron GA. Was literally left in the parking lot as store closed up without a temp tag or bill of sale for the new RV I purchased. Was forced to drive an hour home without a tag or bill of sale. Nice RV, good price….. rude arrogant and generally indignant sales and finance folks who could care less about customers after the sale. Wild assurances that contracts don't affirm. General manager Chad Golf could care less as well. Do yourself a favor, save the hassle and go to a different Camping World to get what you want.

Do yourself a favor and find, not another camping world but a GOOD independently owned RV Dealership.

Large corporations don't care about customers the way they should.

Camping world is controlled by GREED, at camping world they employ some some of the greediest, fast talking, uncaring people they can find. They also have some good honest folks to, but their hands arrived tied when it comes to business vs the golden rules.

Camping World Poor service

I bought a 2017 Forest River Cherokee 304R from Camping World in Tampa 6 weeks ago. I just moved in 1.5 miles and set up the camper for the first time. One slide hesitated coming out then moved, however now the slides wont move, one a/c is not working, the refrigerator handle is hanging and not cooling properly. microwave not working, slide inside trim loose and hanging, shower floor weak, fireplace not working, and electrical outlets not working. I cant move it with slide outs out. I called them, they offered no help told me to call road side, which refused to help. I called several mobile rv companies and they can;t do ,manufacturers work only Camping world. And back around again no help from Camping World. I don"t know what to do

Camping World - DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

2.5
Details
On April 8, I ordered a rv cooktop for my Casita. I'm in the middle of the remodel. Deliver time was a max of 10 days. After 10 days, I called to find out the status of my order around April 15. The person, I talked with was worthless. I called again on April 21. Darlene in customer was outstanding. She said they needed to talk with the warehouse and find out what was happening. This could not be done until Monday 24. Today is Monday, April 24. I call back and get another person. She too, was awesome. I was told the top for my stove would arrive today. The cooktop will not ship from the warehouse until April 28. By the time I get my purchases, it will be almost a month. They advertise 7-10 days. I am unable to cancel because they have processed my order. I will never order from this company. There are better places to order from with better service. RN in Texas
