Camping World - Horrible Shipping

I place an order online for items I needed for camping 9 days previously to needing them. I spent over $100, which qualified me for free shipping. The order was placed on a Wednesday. Thursday, online it said the items were awaiting shipping. Friday it also said that. I called Friday evening and they told me the items didn't ship yet and they will probably ship on Monday. The phone attendant did not know why it did not ship yet. This is 2017 for sake. This is horrible service when all of the items are in stock. I will just go to Amazon I guess, and still get my order before Camping World will even get it out the door.

2.7
Details
On March 24th I called Camping World Fort Myers parts and service department and asked about a clearance light cover for my 2014 Itasca Sunova I was told that the OEM man was gone for the day they would leave a message for him to call me back on Monday exactly 10 days later on April 3rd I got a call from the OEM man and I told him what I was looking for he said they did not carry that part and that he would check into it and research it for me today is May 19th and I have yet to hear back from the man to tell me I'm sorry I can't find any or I'm sorry I'm still looking into it or something so I decide to call them and I talked to a gentleman and told him what I was looking for he said we don't sell those that's an oem part you'll have to look on the internet for that I said the OEM man is looking into it for me I was just wondering how long it was going to take him to get back to me about it that it had been over a month he then proceeded to tell me Well we don't sell that part look it up on the internet and hung up I am so tired of the back of the house at Camping World Fort Myers the salesman and Dwight and the finance officers are top of the world of their profession but the people in the back of the house and parts and service suck big-time suck

Camping World - Camping Worls installed awning wrong. Not taking responsibility.

1.0
Details
We purchased an awning last fall at Camping World in Flagstaff AZ and had it installed on our slide out by their service center. After the installation we drove to our home about 30 miles from their store. The RV was not used until spring. We used the RV one time and extended the slide out one time and the awning is destroyed. When we extended the slide out the awning was torn along one side. When the slide out was retracted the awning tore on the other side. The problem was with the installation but because we're past their 90 day warranty they are taking no responsibility. While I was talking to the service rep he told me there was nothing they could do and, when I expressed my displeasure with their service he hung up on me. I am DONE with Camping World.

Camping World - Terrible parking!

We have been wanting to stop at Camping World for Two days! We are traveling in a class C RV pulling a Trailer. We have found in the last two years that you cannot get in the parking area to purchase supplies. We also travel in a class A motor home towing a vehicle and do not attemp to pull in to your facility! All of the space is taken up with rv's and campers. It seems that you only want customers that want to purchase new homes and do not care about the customer that wants to maintain his home! It is so much easier to purchase supplies somewhere else! If you complain at the store the age old answer is that they are buying property down the road! Has Marcus Lemonis caused this problem? I would like to discuss this matter with him if he is not too busy at Sweet Petes!

Camping World - Bait and switch

1.8
Details
My wife and I had decided to buy a cheap pop up tent camper for our trip to nags head. After a few days of searching we found one listed on camping worlds website for $1,999.99 that seemed like a decent fit for our needs. My wife called camping world at 8-9 am the following morning to see if it was still available and we were assured it was. After driving an hour to the fredricksburg VA location we were greeted by a woman who asked us our name and located the sales associate we had spoken to on the phone. (Before I go any further I have to say our sales associate Emily was great, had the company's policy's and bait and switch tactics not been so obviously abusive she could have sold me on a 30-40k camper.) well it turns out that camper had just sold but hey, that's okay we have another one that would fit your budget she said. Strike one. We were shown two other used pop up campers and we liked one so awesome right? Not so much. The camper we had seen online was sitting in the rear "whole sale only" lot completely set up and oddly enough in the same spot and next to the same campers seen in the photos online. If my wife had not been vigilant we would of never seen it sitting out there almost 100 yards up the hill. We asked her about it and she explained it must have been moved up there after it sold. Strike two camping world strike two. Once we got back inside to begin negotiations on the used popup my wife liked we were informed it would be around 4700 which seemed fair. Unfortunately 4700 was the sticker price plus 2000 dollars in fees which according to camping world consisted of a 697 dollar hitch to bumper inspection fee plus any parts and labor needed to fix any issues found, Virginia trailer inspection charge which by law can not cost more than 16 dollars and taxes, tags and title. Strike three Once I heard the 697 plus parts and labor was going to be added to a camper they already had on their lot as a trade in before they could even sale it to us I decided to dig into online reviews. While I did so her manager came over to push the sale and started to speak with my wife. After reading a hand full of reviews I looked up ended the transaction and went to walk out stating to the manager had I read the reviews on this company we would have never wasted our time. He followed us to the doors and stopped me. If I may say something, he stated. Online reviews have been around for awhile and are not always reliable(paraphrasing). Sadly what I read on pissed off consumer, Glassdoor, ripoffreport, etc etc were exactly what I had just experienced. No joke here folks that shady fella selling his old junk on Craigslist is more reputable than this company. Avoid avoid avoid Also just added the jayco popup they "sold" looks like it's still for sale. http://rv.campingworld.com/searchresults?rv_type=towable&condition=new_used&subtype=FD&custompricerange=true&sort=featured_asc&zipsearch=true&search_mode=advanced&locations=TVA,AIR

Camping World - Do not sell items for posted prices

3.4
Details
Today I wanted to purchase some things for my RV, so I stopped by one of your stores. You did had the items I was looking for. The items available for sale in your stores have a posted prices but when taken to the check out register I was informed that I can't actually purchase thows item for that price, unless I join the club for an additional twenty five bucks. So you know what I did? I left the items on the counter and told the clerk to keep them. You Know, marketing is changing in the united states and your stores will soon be replaced with on line purchasing. You would do well to remember that everything you sell, can also be had over the internet for less then your store prices with no shipping and no sales tax. I came home and purchased five hundred and fifty dollars worth of merchandise and got everything I wanted for much less. So you should stick your marketing idea's up your ***. Even though there is a camping world twenty miles away I won't shop there for this reason. Gordon B San Jose ca.

Camping World - They shattered our world!

1.0
Details
Sold us a camper that broke down, after we took it out for first time. They offered to transfer our deposit to a newer model RV. Not wanting a vehicle that breaks down, they sold us one we could not afford. Not aware of insurance, state property tax, extended warranty( we did not need) tire coverage(we did not need) we became way over our head! Stated it would not depreciate! It depreciated 20,000 dollars two months later when we asked for them to please consign it for us! So they lied. We now have it for sAle somewhere else, where we will have to take a home equity loan out, to pay remainder owed to bank! So much for our senior citizen dreams of riding off into the sunset!! Ethics is not a word in their dictionary, aside from , since when do you have to give them a credit card to see a vehicle? Plus a one thousand dollar deposit. Should have known right from the get go!!
