Oakwood, GA Camping World does not live up to advertised price

1.0
Details
We found a used 5th wheel on the Camping World website and called to set up an appointment. We specified this unit only. When we got there, we went through a lot of high pressure sales tactics and they wanted a firm commitment before giving us the final price for the unit we wanted. After talking to his "supervisor" we were given a price more than $5000.00 over the advertised price. We refused and wanted to leave, however, the salesman had taken my husband's driver's license saying he needed it to get us the final price. We had to request it be returned FIVE times before they would finally give us back his license and we could leave. We felt as though they were holding us against our will. Would NEVER do any business with this company.

Camping World

Some of these problems are due to camping worlds service. 2 x I have had them to fix things first time took 6 weeks and no one would answer my call and the second time they had it for two months which included minor body repair. But work was horrible and then they washed. Must have used bleach because the whole front was faded with streaks bleaching out the logo in front. This is a 2016 model and looks like a 2001.

Camping World in Katy, Texas - ADCO RV COVERS AWFUL!

Details
I purchased an RV cover for my travel trailer and it looked and fit perfect. It was the WORST INVESTMENT I've ever made. I even took out the extended warranty. This thing lasted less than 2 yrs. and fell apart, literally. One day I went out to check on my trailer and the entire cover was on the ground surrounding the trailer. It started with small holes, rips and tears. How they happened I still don't know. Then I think the wind caught it and it just got worse. I took hold of one of the pieces of velcro to remove the cover and it just tore off in my hand. The material is ***. I called Camping World and they told me to call the warranty co. I called the warranty co. and they said it's only guaranteed for 2 years. They asked me.... Is it outside? I said yes, they then said the warranty was voided. WHAT? First off, I sincerely doubt you buy one of these and store it indoors. Really?! Secondly, why wasn't I advised of that when I purchased it by the sales person at CAMPING WORLD. They quit carrying Adco covers now. Hmmm.. Wonder why.. It was a terrible experience. I'm out $285.00. NEVER AGAIN! Also, if you try to do it by yourself.... Good luck!

Camping World in Wheaton, Illinois - Poor service in the Parts Department

Trying to get their parts department to order the parts that are needed for a scheduled service the following week (8/9/2017). Called on a Sunday to order the parts, Tyler said that they couldn't order on Sunday. Called back on Monday after looking on-line for the correct parts myself. I gave Tyler the part no. for the parts needed and he said he would call the manufacture and get the parts order going. Called Tuesday to verify that the parts were ordered, Tyler said that he was unable to get through and left them an e-mail to get back with him. Called back later the same day to check status, Tyler said that they never got back with him. Called the manufacturer myself and verified that the parts kit needed was the same as their website. They verified that the parts no. I got was the correct one for my vehicle. Called Tyler on Wednesday morning about the parts order, he said he would call me back in 10 minutes. After not hearing from him for 30 minutes I called back and they said here was busy and I could leave a voice message. I said I would try again later. Does this sound like the run around? I believe that they are stalling the order to add additional shipping charges. It's been over a hour since my last call. Here we go again/ calling back again. *** poor service in the parts department.

Stay away from them. Read the incidents in this website.

The harder you try to make them get it right the less chance of success you have.

Find a better service center.

They will tell you anything you wanna hear to sale you a camper. We waited a week to pick our camper up so they could do their walk through and do their cleaning {even tho it was new} I pointed out a few cosmetic things that need to be replaced like missing trim and a scratched decal. We was told no problem thats why they do the walk through. Well needless to say we arrived after a week and the guy {Crockett} took the trim off one side and placed it on the side you can see, thinking I wouldnt see it. WRONG!!! Us women see it all. After pitching a fit and debating to sign papers the salesman Robbie and several others promised the sun and moon plus offered a gift card LOL said the trim piece and decal has been ordered and would call us as soon as it came in which should be a week. Its been a month and guess what NO PHONE CALL!!!! NO RETURN CALLS!!!NOTHING!! Can't get no one to return my call.

Camping World - Hillsboro Operation NOT to be Trusted

1.2
Details
I brought my newly purchased Thor RV in for warranty work on June 6th, and have yet to have all the warranty work completed. After more than a month of getting the run-around as described below, only a portion of the warranty work had been finished. I needed the RV for a long-anticipated family reunion and picked up my RV in early July even though all warranty work had yet to be satisfied. I was told at that time that some of the replacement parts had yet to be delivered and that they should be in soon. I have called several times for status updates, and on the very rare occasion that I do not get sent to voicemail, the different Service Managers (I'm on my fourth) have each said, Let me check into it and call you back. Never do they call me back. Such one-sided conversations have been the norm since the initial service was undertaken. As a last straw, on July 31st, I called Thor Motor Coach directly and was told the parts to finish the warranty work have never been ordered. If I must find another RV service provider to complete the warranty work, I will do so, as this level of service and communication is unacceptable. I have been known to be a patient person, but this has stretched that patience to the limit. My story is typical of the many reviews I have subsequently read regarding the service at the Hillsboro facility. If I would have read the reviews prior to bringing my RV to this location for service, you can rest assured that I would have reconsidered and possibly even purchased my RV elsewhere. But now it is a lesson learned for me. Service is not a verb in the vocabulary of the Hillsboro operation, but only a noun used before the word department to denote a physical area on the property. It would be in the best interest of Camping World to permanently close the service department at this location and hopefully salvage the damaged reputation that is being fostered in the Pacific Northwest.

It's not just that location, it's almost all of the locations that absolutely suck when it comes to service. Stay away from ALL camping worlds.

Camping World in Greenwood, Indiana - Find a more reputable dealer, this one is not

2.2
Details
We have had norhing but headaches since we purchased a new but previous model year class a rv we thought was a deal, now we know we paid too much, and they took advantage of our newbie status. Get a really good inspector to find the problems they won't tell you about, don't believe a word Bobby Lee says and get everything in writing, research the price, and don't leave the lot until every issue is resolved; better yet, find a more reputable dealer, we learned this tbe hard way, check the reviews and believe them. No dealer should sell you a coach with bad batteries, an ac vent that doesn't work at all, a generator with 34 hours on it, a door in severe need of adjustment, a water heater that needs repair one month out. I can blame the ac vent on the manufacturer, the rest was their lack of care of the rv; also they are sloppy, they fixed molding that fell off and got glue all over our counter. One month out we have no hot water and they don't care. Their service is always packed, I can see why. Your warranty will pay for damages they are responsible for, but they take responsibility for nothing. My best advice is run, don't walk in the other direction. I wish I had bothered to read reviews before I bought from this place.

Camping World in Wood Village, Oregon - Poor Service, Poor Customer Service

1.0
Details
I went to the Wood Village OR location for service after identifying several small problems with my 2010 Class C RV. After picking up the rig following the service, I went on a weekend trip with my wife. I discovered one of the repair issues, the water heater, had not been repaired even though I had spent over $500 on that issue alone. Also, Camping World employees had left metal shavings on the carpet inside the door and had failed to reattach a wood shelf under the bed. After returning from my trip, I contacted Camping World's corporate office to file a complaint. Two weeks later I had not received any sort of reply so I sent a second email including a forward of the first email. I received a reply telling me that someone from the local facility would contact me. Two weeks later, still nothing so I contacted the corporate office again by email (I was unable to locate a phone number) requesting contact by the corporate office, not the local facility. The next day I found a VM from the local facility but never got a call from the corporate office as I had requested. Very poor service, unethical business practices, and almost zero customer service. I will never use this business again and will tell everyone I can about my experience.
