Never Again Will I Buy An RV @ Camping World

2.8
Details
I was looking to buy a 2018 Wildcat 32WB. Found one online at Camping World in Katy TX. After viewing it on line and speaking to a salesman, the salesman told me that the same model with a different VIN had just been reduced by corporate. Like who wouldn't want to save a couple thousand dollars? Little did I know the issues I was about to have! After walking the trailer and doing paperwork I had 3 item list of things needing fixed. A *** Bolt for the awning missing, a Strap on the refrigerator broken and a vent bug screen missing I paid to have installed. That's all I noticed at the time. Little did I know the landing gear did not work properly (the holes in the leg don't line up so the pin doesn't go all the way through the leg) and the screen door latch was broken. It has been a month and no repairs have been made. I also wonder if they knew this trailer had issues and that's why they had me buy it instead! Hurricane or not, they have made promises that they don't seem to be willing to keep! I also feel as though once they got my money and the contract signed I was no longer a priority to them. I have fixed the vent bug screen and the other items are available on their website! If you can believe that! I am ordering the parts I need and plan on fixing it myself. At least that way I know it will get fixed! But, NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY AN RV @ CAMPING WORLD!

I had my rv refrigerator go out just before labor day weekend and called the service desk and got Tyler( sorry I dont know his last name) he was very pleasant, very knowledgeable and worked hard to get my problem solved, not only did he get back to me asap after every step of what was going on, talking to the technicans, dealing with the warranty people, he scheduled me for repair, I was in and out and am very pleased with my refrigerator and am going camping this weekend! There are not alot of good service people anymore so it is awesome to find one at Camper World!

Camping World in Wood Village, Oregon - Did this just happen?

In 2013 my husband and i purchased a new travel trailer from CW. We were less than happy with the after purchase service however, 4 yrs later when we were ready to purchase another new rig we thought we would give them a second chance at their service. The 2nd round was worse than the first. They not only under cut us on the price of our trade in but shockingly attempted to add $5000 to the sale price of the vehicle when we refused to let them take our rig as a trade in. Apparently there was a sale price, and then a no trade sale price. We told CW to shove that deal. Not only did CW waste an entire day of our time sitting in a room car salesmen like negotiating on a price, and never returning any of our calls, but to top if off with the shady price gouging? Not to mention, we went in there with a pre approval and they still ran a hit on our credit. We are over Camping World and will never go back there again. Not even to their store. I dont care if they are selling the Earths last can of propane. We went to B Young RV and within 2 hours walked out new owners with a better deal. Has CW gotten too big for their britches?

Yes. I traded fifth wheel for motorhome.

Thought I got a good deal. Didn't. They cut my fifth wheel down because it wasn't marketable. Sold within the week we traded it.

I know that was my doing. Had problems with home. Fixed most myself as was on road. Took it in for issues that were well got tired of fixing them.

The quick turn around time. Ha. Two months later. Couldn't use home anymore as season was over.

When finally got to items still hadn't been fixed. Said it was. Now there prices to look at stuff way over the top.

I winterize my self. Do it right no anti freeze all over the place.

No.

Go to your local Sheriff's office with the popup, and all paperwork.

Tell the sheriff's office the story and file charges,

Camping World - They hold generator orders for what?!?!?!?!?!?!

9/7 ordered a Honda generator. Hurricane coming, so taking a precaution. Called to ask whether I could use my own UPS account number to pay for expedited shipping. Was told the order would be held for one to two days to investigate whether my intent was to resell the generator at a higher price. I asked for a callback from the manager and never received one. So by the time I get the generator, it'll be too late. Hope I don't need it. I live in Atlanta. The item ships from Louisville, KY. I would have received it on Monday had they shipped same day. Camping World is providing sandbags in Orlando so I know they're aware of the storm. They were one of few who had this generator in stock. I am sorely disappointed in this so-called policy, in light of this situation, if my request is ignored (note I did not say not granted) I will speak of this loudly in every forum I can find, and will NEVER purchase anything from any of their outlets again.

Followup.

It's now October 16. I received my generator 4 days after the power went out.

Too late.

To be clear, I am not asking CW to do anything more than to acknowledge that the policy is wrong and that they made an error. To that end I have emailed them 3 times by email and received one scripted response about when the item would ship. About 10 days ago I posted this matter on Camping World's Facebook page and received a response within hours.

The response indicated that I would be called by a CW manager. Yep. You guessed it. No callback.

So here's the situation as I see it.

Camping World is probably ok if nothing goes wrong and you're not in a hurry.

But, if Customer Service comes into play, especially if it involves some sort of accountability, choose a different retailer. That's how I feel.

I know exactly how you feel. We live in NC and ordered a generator on September 5th and have yet to get it.

We have called and keep getting the run around. Said they placed on hold to verify our address since it was a large expensive ticket item. Gave some false tracking # for UPS. I called today, Monday 9/11 and they said it was not shipping via UPS but their ECO Freight selected it to go thru FedEx!!

I ask why does their system tell me UPS and they have no response. My husband called last Thus, 9/7 and he was told it was shipping from Kentucky. I just looked it up on FedEx and our generator was shipped from Fort Worth Texas not Kentucky!! So for all we know it could have been sitting in flood waters somewhere in Texas.

It is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, 9/12.

Camping World has lost our business. We are campers and have given this company thousands over the years....NEVER AGAIN!!

Camping World - Poor service after the sale

2.4
Details
We have driven three trips of 150 miles round trip to fix items on our new purchase rv. We found another problem while waiting for parts and wanted to let them know and the status of parts on order. We have called four times and left messages for service and asked to return our calls and no one returns them. I wish I knew this problem before I made the purchase or I never would have bought from them. Buyer beware!

I bought a new Dutchmen camper from camping world Paid 39,000. for it Got GREAT service from the sales department but then when you need it serviced its a disgrace My camper has set their for 5 days and not even been looked at. When I get upset with them they act like I should just set and wait on them .I could understand if they had looked at it but it is still not even been looked at When you call they say it might be 2 to 3 weeks Not what they said when I left it there. Was told it would be ready by the weekend  No one will leave their camper seating and waiting to be serviced for 3 weeks Had a trip planned will cost me money to cancel at this late a date Then Audrey had the nerve to tell me not to curse at her because I told her  its not my fault they can not get their *** together. The last time I checked that is not a curse word Not nice to say but her attitude was not very nice either. Best thing I can say is DO NOT BUY A CAMPER FROM CAMPING WORLD

Camping World - They only care about the money

i drove an 2 hours only to have a sales man sell a unit out from under me while i traveled a distance to see it . they also jacked up the price with bogus processing fees and preps. a real screw the consumer outfit. one sales came out while i was reviewing the unit and obviously went in to another customer on the phone and convinced them to pay a card deposit to take the unit from me as i was about to purchase it . the consumer on the lot viewing the unit should have the priority. they are dishonest to give you one price on the phone and add on fees after you arrive on the lot. go some where else
