Purchased a travel trailer from Camping World, Saukeville, WI last summer. Noticed a few things that needed to be fixed while it was under warranty including a TV backer was never put in when it was being built. Long story short, they have had our camper since 10/10/16 (over 4 months) and the work is still not finished. No one answers my questions and there is always an excuse. We've had to make an appointment with the general manager and stop in to speak with him to get some answers (an hour drive for us). We thought maybe we were getting somewhere as he offered to update us weekly on the status of our trailer. That was a lie.. we never heard from him even when I emailed requesting the status. We were totally ignored. My only option was to give them a deadline for either our trailer to be complete or a new one given to us or we will be contacting an attorney.

This must be company wide! Camping World in Woodstock, GA had our unit for 6 months before we finally just went and got it from them.

We have an appointment with another Thor authorized dealership to get the warranty work done that should have been done by CW months ago.

Plus, they lied to us about what was covered under the warranty....some things they said were not covered ARE covered. I will never go back to Camping World.

Uncaring

Once again camping world has disappointed. From the time we bought a brand new trailer that broke right away and they refused to fix for months so we had to go elsewhere to trying to return a dog ramp that was useless. Yes my dog tried it , how else would I have known it was junk. Go to ret it and cause you could see my dogs nail Mark they said oops can't resell so sorry your lose. Really we spend Thousands a year. Nope this time I'll pay extra or wait and order online. Screw big companies that make more money then they know what to do with. Love ya when Camper shopping but after you mean nothing.

Walked into Camping World to BUY A CAMPER and they TRIED TO SELL US A (bad) LOAN

We walked in to BUY A CAMPER, and you TRIED TO SELL US A LOAN. Saw the Vegas at the Chicago RV Show $69,995, price includes a $3,000 Finance Discount.

We had not planned to finance the purchase and didn't understand we had to finance through Camping World so a week later we show up to test drive and sign the papers and are reminded we must finance the purchase. I explain that we've pre-qualified for $40,000 at 1.9% through MOE Credit Union (60 pmts. of $701). But some college hotshot (Travis) is going to tell us how much smarter it is to finance the entire purchase $75,000 for 20 years at 6.9% because our monthly payment will only be $301.00 a month (for 240 months, 20 years!) and we can invest the rest in the market and earn 5%., plus we will get part of the interest back in our taxes.

I said we would just rather pay the extra $3,000 to buy the RV and probably not even take the $40k from the credit union . He still would not quit shuffling his charts and papers and insisting so finally in exasperation I said "To be blunt, this has gone from you trying to sell us a camper to trying to sell us a loan" I was trying to be diplomatic, my husband just said "*** You" and we stormed out. While not illegal, this is definitely unethical. My retired husband and I know what is best for our finances.

Who is underwriting these 20 year loans for campers that depreciate the minute they leave the showroom? Who is betting against it (sub-prime mortgage meltdown, anyone?). What a joke. YOU ARE NOT SELLING CAMPERS YOU ARE SELLING PREDATORY LOANS - AND GETTING KICKBACKS FROM THE BANK.

Then reselling the units that are repossessed. We'll find our RV somewhere else where we aren't going to get bullied into a loan we don't need!

I ordered a replacement fabric slide topper. The parts guy ordered it and said it would be in on Friday morning . Approximately 10 days. So he scheduled the installation on Friday afternoon. He told me that he would check daily to be sure it was made and shipped So they could install it. Well on Thursday morning I called him to be sure it would be there for the Friday afternoon scheduled. Installation. He never returned my call so not knowing if it was arriving on time I left a message with the installation. Guy to cancel the install since I did not know if the fabric would be there in time. Neither the parts guy or install guy called me back that entire day. So I called the install guy Friday morning to be sure the installation. Had been cancelled. It had not so they canceled it then. So having not heard from the parts guy , I called again and left a message. He never returned any calls. So Saturday I drove in and talked to him. He had no clue about the delivery and said he would call dometic Monday morning and then call me. Monday by 11 am. Still no call. I drove into their place again. After 3/4 hours they finally located my item. A good thing because I was flying out for the summer later that day. THEY NEVER EVER RETURN A CALL. HORRIBLE!

Absent Ownership

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The problem with both stores there's nobody that will own up to their mistakes. We're all humans and that is what we do unfortunately . The employees are hard enough to find in M.B. you should as a company treat them right. Need somebody to take charge and lead and not just push huge P&L reports. I'm a local person and have caught them in lies and they swear it still correct. I drove from Santee State Park early 5/10/17 with both tanks almost full bc I had new rv and could not find claw that fits dump spout/ drain. Since I live close to Hwy. 501 store I will stop & buy part and dump tanks as usual, meaning I've dumped my tanks there before even early as last Dec. Web page still has it being a dump facility for Good Sam Members even since new ownership 2-3 years ago. Even ex employee Dave Elder told me where it was.. It's still located out by road but almost hidden by new propane station put in last year. You can see the new tire tracks where it's still being used when the employees don't park in front of it. But manager & cashier repeatly deny that it's there and never has been .. So for years they have advertised being a dump facility and its come to the truth that .... But all I get after buying spending $100k for new rig and $300 in store purchases... 2 weeks before is an apology.

We bought a new Thor class c 3 1/2 weeks ago. When we were doing the walk through it was discovered.the backup camera did not work, neither did the radio. They said they would order it and give us a call. We have not heard from them and we have called several times and left messages and there is no call back. This is the one in Avondale AZ. I cannot say they have bad customer service, i can say they have NO customer service

Camping World - Roof Repair Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Order #11452. I paid $****.00 to have roof sealed as a preventatuve measure and now four months later I now have a roof leak. I never had a leak before. I was very upset before due to the price and service we received at the time. Today, I am furious with the results. As always, there is no one available to look into our concerns which are now complaints about Camping World.

Bought a 2015 Jayco travel trailer from Camping World in Northern Arizona. They showed us the spec sheet that showed a price of $29K.

They sold it to us for $23K. Later we looked at the spec sheet and realized it was showing a NEW PRICE. We thought we were getting a great deal, and spent additional monies based on the savings.

Upon calling them, the sales person said something like "so you spent $3-4,000 too much !

Corporate office just referred us back to our dealership and after explaining to them the unfairness and failure to point out that the price displayed was a new price, they did absolutely nothing. Their sales tactics are up there with the sharks (attorneys).

Do your research and BUYER BEWARE !

David made the save!

We stopped by camping world in Stafford, MO to shop-around for an RV. Being new to RV's we were not sure of what we wanted. A bald headed salesman (sic) took us out, showed us where the class C's were at and disappeared, boy did we have questions! After an hour or so David, another or should I say a REAL salesman came up and answered questions, showed us different RV's and was a great help. We didn't buy as we had a lot of thinking to do, but when we do buy, David is getting the sale from us. He did get a sale from our friends that were there with us!

Camping World - Rv Warranty Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bought our Coachman Summerset 5th wheel in 2004. Bought the extended warranty....don't EVER buy the extended warranty through CW they are nothing but a bunch of idiots. Day one the large slide hasn't worked right and they couldn't fix it. ALMOST FORGOT TO PUT THIS IN....while my 5th wheel was at Camping World for over 3 months to get warranty work done that they couldn't complete..THEY STOLE MY 75' CABLE AND TOLD ME THAT THEY DIDN'T... I took the motor in when I was told they didn't cover anything any longer. I found that it was a bad winding from manufacturer..cost me to have motor rewound but it now works. Several of the seams in the ceiling were showing discoloration and they said it was a manufacturer's problem. Coachman said it wasn't covered in their warranty.... When I left the 5th wheel plugged in....the converter fried the new 6 volt batteries I had installed 5 months earlier....lol...the converter was a low budget unit that didn't automatically back its charge rate down when the batteries were at full charge. I replaced the converter and batteries with upgraded converter. There were so many problems that I fixed myself with the 5th wheel because CW said it wasn't covered but a manufacturing defect. Long story on my experience with Caming World and Coachman....I will never do business with either ever again. If I could afford to I would drive this 5th wheel into the Camping World in Santa Clarita ....through the front doors and park it in the Managers office. I love camping and they have ruined my idea of a trouble free experience.

Was looking for a generator. They had a Honda for$1249.99 or member price of $1049.99. Can be purchased for $1049.99 every where. Not a deal. Then another time tried to purchase a heat only thermostat. $38.00 member price, $59.00 non member price. Purchased the exact thermostat on Amazon for $12.51 free shipping. Quite a markup. Done with camping world. Buyer beware!!!

Camping World - Delivery Service Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Camping world the store in Akron was wonderful! Our salesman Charlie was awesome the whole shopping experience was great! Would definitely go back..The delivery was a whole different experience. The guy Bo was terrible very disrespectful, drove our camper in another campsite and got stuck. My husband kindly told him I thought you were going to stay on the road and angle it in, he said with an attitude it wouldn't of mattered I would have had to come in the yard anyways. NOT TRUE! He did try to grab some wood to lay it down near the tires but no luck. He told my husband that we signed papers stating that if they get stuck its our responsibility to get it out. No one ever explained that to us. I told my husband to goto the front office to see if the owner of our campgrounds can help. As he was gone, I over heard the delivery driver on the phone saying I did what the guy told me to do which was to drive in the yard. Again NOT TRUE! My husband never told him that. I kept my cool up to that point. My husband came back and the delivery driver was un hooking our camper and was going to just leave it where it was. My husband stated that the owner of the campground was coming with the tractor. They got him out with our camper, he came back around stayed on the road and angled it in within a matter of minutes, which is what he should've done in the first place..If the driver would have just had a better attitude I think everything would've been a little easier to handle, but he was simply aweful. So we now have a tore up camp lot that needs fixed. A earful from the owner of the campground. But we do love our camper very much. If there is a paper that was signed that states we are responsible for anything the delivery driver does, that needs to made clear at signing after all we did pay 100.00 to have it delivered. Thank you The Tesch Family.

Sales person lied to me

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Me and my finance bought a travel trailer 2 weeks ago today was told buy our sales person Brandon the tipout needed work and will take about a week to fix. I asked him when will it be done and delivered he told me it would be done this week and we would have it delivered today at our campground. I went out last Saturday cleaned out our trailer we are trading in and had our owner of the campground tow it out this week. I waited all week for my sales person to call he never did as to when it will be fixed. So I called and talked to the garage tech he told me it won't be ready for another week or so. This pissed me off because now I have to pay my owner for the camper sitting in an open site if it will not be picked up by camper world by next weekend. I want to know why it takes 2 weeks for a part to ship and be installed we bought it from camper world in Indianapolis In in greenwood. My name is Joe Johnson My finance name is Dawn Laforest the trailer is in her name can someone please contact me soon My telephone number is 765894****
