Camping World - Never buy from this place!!!

1.3
Details
Where do I begin?! I found a 1992 class A Thor motorhome on RV trader for a good price that I could afford. When walking through the RV I asked if it had been completely inspected and everything worked fine. I noticed a bunch of caulking around the seems of the RV and asked if all the water leaks had been repaired and resolved. I was told yes. I noticed some interior water damage and was fine to do the repairs. The salesman told me adamantly they had completed a 12 point inspection. So, I gave them my card for the amount they were asking for the RV and didn't seem worried about my purchase. 3 days later I take my new purchase up to the mountains where I stayed at a nice RV park with all the power, water etc. It became warm enough that I had to turn on the A/C. That worked beautifully! However a week later the weather began to change and it rained for 4 days straight and dropped in temperature enough that I needed to turn on my heater. What do you know, the heater didn't work, then I realized my water heater didn't work my GFI outlet was failed so I couldn't even plug in space heaters. RVers tried to help me find the fuse box but to know avail no one could! And lastly, I have water leaking in my ceiling that is now going down to the electrical areas!I'm more than peeved!! It one thing to buy an RV for a private seller and expect this shadiness, but it's not expected when buying from a large company who seems reputable! Buyers be very, very weary of this place and stay away if at all possible!!!!!

Camping World - Do not get annual services done here--it is a rip off

Decided to get a bunch of my annual services and cleaning done at the Nashville Camping World before deploying. What a horrible and very expensive experience. 1. The work was shoddy. It was obvious this is just an after market money making scheme. 2. After the AC service, the AC stopped working and the explanation is --must be something else, bring it in, we'll charge you again--yeah, I'll be right in 3. I realized they replaced my tongue jack. No explanation, no write up, no permission. This was a brand new tongue jack I had put on a month ago. When I finally asked about it(after my deployment), the answer was, if we bend it we replace it without asking. Okay, but shouldn't it be requested or written down? Additionally, the jack they put on was used, and faulty. I understand I have no recourse now because I had to wait until returning from deployment, but I wanted to pass on this message to anyone else thinking about "Camping World" It is obvious their after market services are a money making rip off--don't do it

Camping World horrible service

I brought my new RV in for minor warranty work back on august 14th.I bought it elsewhere. They've had it for almost 6 weeks. When I called 2 weeks later, my service guy, Jimmy, said it's still on the lot and they haven't gotten to it because they are backed up. I asked why he told me to bring it in on that day if they were that backed up. He said my appointment was just to drop it off.... to get the work done then. He said that's standard procedure. (By the way, when I set the appointment back in June, the earliest I could get was 6 weeks out.) 2 weeks later I called and he said they are waiting for the plastic airflow piece for the AC vent that is for the drivers seat. 1 week later I called and Jimmy said we just got it today, Thursday, so it will be done Friday or Monday. I called Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and left messages but got no return calls. After leaving a nasty message with the receptionist, Jimmy called me back and said they just haven had time to get to it. I called the manufacturer, Thor, to give them feedback on this terrible service of one of their dealers, and they told me they sent the part via overnight UPS on August 31st. So, Camping World didn't request the part for a couple of weeks, and then lied about when they received it. Jimmy, the service guy, said they are understaffed, cannot retains service guys because they don't reliably show up, and admitted they need to pay them more to get good workers. He also admitted that he knows this happens at all Camping Worlds and is aware of their reputation.

Camping World - Add advertised product that store knew nothing about..

Went to CW store in Wilsonville Oregon to purchase a Dish tripod for our RV. The item was in the sale email that I received that morning. Spent first 25 minutes waiting for sales associate to search warehouse with no luck. Then asked to speak to a manager which took another 10 minutes because she was on the phone with an angry customer. After patiently waiting in the doorway for her to finish with the call I was told that their internet was down and that they could not find the part number. That meant that we drove over an hour to the store and couldn't even find out if there was another store along our route to purchase the item. From now on we will wait until we are at a campground for more than a day and order from Amazon. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service... Gary Vaughan

Camping World Extended Warranty

We bought our RV on a Wednesday and drove it right to Camping World to get the transferable extended warranty changed to our name and extended. They said that they would have to charge us two hours labor to inspect it to be sure all was well. I said, it's still under warranty if there were something wrong it shouldn't cost me anything to fix it. They suggested I leave it with them, we did not. Since then we have been waiting two weeks just to get a quote for the extended warranty price. We have left six messages and no replies. Lousy service, I think someone somewhere is trying to guide us away from this purchase. Just think what it would be like if they had to pay for something.

Camping World in Chichester, New Hampshire - Unable to complete simple job.

Camping World - Unable to complete simple job.
Brought my Class B camper van in, showed them where the grey-water tank was leaking. Left five hours later-- no wifi, by the way, in this place!-- with the SAME LEAK. Came back three days later, explained that they hadn't fixed the problem. Again, 4-5 hours of wait time in the wifi-less showroom, and we left with the SAME LEAK. Altogether, we paid almost $500 and wasted two days on this place. Would I go there again? Do I look like an absolute idiot? Should not have brought it back the second time, thinking they could fix it. Everywhere around Concord, we heard the same thing: These guys at Camping World don't know what they're doing.

Camping World - I purchased a Good sam Membership along with the roadside assistance for 2 years and was given a $25.00 gifgt certificate. I went Monday to the Chattanooga store to purchase a few items and get

a quote on an awning. One of the items was a replacement fan blade. I was not sure whether the fan blade had a *** or a round hole. I was told if I got the wrong one I could exchange it as long as I had reasonable packaging. First the awning, I was told I needed numbers off of the awning, and was given a paper. I left with the purchases and used the certificate for partial payment. I obtained the numbers off of the awning and called back. The clerk Dan did not answer his phone and I left a message, I called back several more times No answer, He never returned the call. Called back Tuesday and Got Dan. After saying he would have to order the awning He informed me he had a generic in stock and would forward the info to service. He quoted me a price which was higher for generic fabric than the list price on Camping world web site for Dometic Fabric. I called back and canceled. Fan blade was wrong but when I tried to exchange the young lady said she could give me 79 cents for it since I paid for it with a certificate, and then buy the proper one for $9.95. I told her I wanted to exchange. I left with $0.79 and No fan blade. I called Good Sam to Cancel My membership and (Purchased 8/21/17) and was informed that their is no refund. The roadside assistance I will get $39.00 back so for One month a membership cost $125.00 I will not do business with Camping World or Good Sam again and will not recommend Either.

Camping World - They sold my consignment.

We practically gave our motorhome away to sell it and when they sold it they waited over a month to pay us. They also jewed us down the price of new tires saying our tires (6 years old) were unsafe and they would not sell it unless they were replaced. We ran into our old coach 2 months after it was sold and the old tires were still on it.

Please don't use jewed us down on price. It' a anti -Semitic comment.

Would you say they blacked or chinesed you down on the price? Also call a tire manufacturer and they will tell you 5 years is the time to change tires in an RV due to the possible tire sidewall cracks.

I have had many RV's. Nothing worse than a tire exploding on a trip and the damage it causes.
