Camping World - Worst service department that I have ever visited, Byron Georgia

We bought a new Jayco in Februrary, left it with Camping World Byron, Ga. for repairs on the unit. Took our jayco camping in April, noticed water coming in around the bottom of the slide so took it back to Camping world for repair and to repair a door that was uneven. After a month they finally fixed the door and said they could find no leaks. Took the unit to Florida in June, while there had leaks coming around the rail on the awning. While trying to clean the top of the slide noticed water would settle in the middle of the top of the slide. Took the unit to CW June 29th, They put us off time and again even after talking to several managers including the Service manager (Jim Lingo). Finally after many phone calls they repaired the slide and told us to come pick it up yesterday (Sept. 29th) after three months of CW having he unit this time. Noticed we had a low tire so pulled the unit around and found a screw in it. CW wanted to patch it but I insisted that they put a new tire on it. While removing the tire discovered a stripped lug bolt. So they had to fix the Lug bolt and steal a tire and rim from another unit. While waiting I discovered several screws laying around in the service area. We have owned the unit for less than nine months with CW keeping it for repair for five of those months. Hope to never go back to CW again especially with what the CW CEO said concerning Trump supporters not welcome there. Camping world is a pitiful company with a pitiful CEO.

Mr. Burr and the Sales Manager Mr. Alvin Doctor were Very professional in their presentation, negotiations, and willingness to work with us on completing this transaction. Their after sale follow up and assistance were par excellent. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the way these two gentleman represented Camping World and Us the buyers thru out this transaction. We have been Camping World shoppers for the past 10 years and will continue to be happy Camping World Members when treated with such respect and enthusiasm. Sincerely Ralph & Barbara Doughty

Camping World - Bent arm for awning replacement

I took my 2016 itasca to camping world in panama city in may 2017 to have awning repaired after a wind storm bent the arm. I picked up the coach and did not put the awning out right away due to the weather. I called camping world and told them the awning was hitting the slideout . I took coach back to camping world on july 5,2017 and was told the wrong arm was installed. They said it would take a week to get the right part. sept. 22 camping world said it was finished with the repair and I could pick the coach up. I checked the coach and found two large scratches under the arm that was replaced. We are moving out of the area in two weeks and need this to be finished as to prepare for the move and all I get from the service manager is excuses as to why it is not done.

I scheduled my warranty work back in July for September 18th. They've had it since then and as of yesterday, nothing has been done. I'm picking it up tomorrow which will take it out of the Que but I have a trip planned...which they were well aware of but apparently don't care. They just give me the usual about how busy they are. I had an appointment!! What does that even mean with these people! Will NEVER purchase anything from Camping World again after this service work is done. Contacting Thor to get the warranty work switched to another service company. Not sure it can be done but I'm one pissed customer.

Camping World in Bakersfield, California - They weren't responsible???!!!

Had my 2016 Thor Tuscany at our local CW for the last of the warranty repairs. While they had it, it was stolen from their "secure" lot. Why you ask? Because they left the door unlocked with the keys in it! It was recovered a few hours later, but not before the thieves stripped all of the electronics out of it. Two big screen TV's, surround sound, Blu-Ray player, satellite box, GPS, dashboard radio/backup camera monitor, plus numerous personal items. Long story short I went back and forth with their third-party company that deals in losses. After five months of fighting, I accepted a check that covered the losses, the towing bill ($825), and my personal items. I had to sign a release stating that I could not hold Camping World responsible for anything! Not quite the end of the story. They told me that all of the warranty items on my list had been repaired. This week, I have it a an independent repair shop taking care of the two items that were never touched. First was the bedroom slide that was coming out cockeyed and retracting cockeyed. It finally quite coming out at all. Second was the large awning. It would start to roll out, then it would stop even though the motor was still running. Nice repair job Camping World. They just don't care.

Camping World in Monticello, Minnesota - Don't go here

1.6
Details
We purchased a new 2017 Keystone Courgar from Camping World Minneapolis (Monticello, MN). My husband stated more than once that we Would be living in this fifth wheel, as we are fulltimers. He asked that the trailer be gone over with a fine tooth comb since he didn't want any surprises, we were assured this would happen. Right away we had a water leak, we took it in and they fixed it, not so, it still leaked, my husband tore it apart and found a crack in an elbow, they said it would take 2 weeks to get the part, remember we live in this fulltimers. So they sent a tech to find parts at local hardware stores and that took 2 hours, my husband fixed it because they don't have a mobile service!! We also have an appointment to have the water heater checked as it won't work on gas. The worst part was paperwork no one and I mean no one knows what the other one is doing!!! They sent the tax check, title and paperwork to our mailing address in South Dakota, which had to be forwarded to us in Iowa where we were visiting. I had to send it to South Dakota to the Treasurers Office, from whom I got a call saying the tax collected wasn't correct, I had them call Camping World since they did the paperwork. What a convoluted mess!! You can't get anyone to return calls. The Finance Manager called me and asked me to call him back, to call on his cell phone since he always had it with him, I did and he still hasn't called me back, it's been over 3 weeks!! Horrible customer service!! This place will soon be out of business if they can't all get on the same page. Salesman was great to work with, the young lady in the Finance Department was great, she got all my frustration heaped on her, since you can't get anyone else to answer calls. Will never go to Camping World again.

Camping World - All summer...still not right

My parents are full time RVers. They took it back to the place they bought it, Richmond Camping World, to have the rotting slide floors replaced and a motor replaced that CW had put in wrong last year. They were told it wasn't safe to move the RV the way the motor was situated. After weeks of arguing as to whether or not they would even do the work, they agreed. It was going to be 2 weeks. Delay, delay, delay. My parents contacted the corporate offices and suddenly their camper was fixable. They fired the person it was assigned to. Then the supplier sent the wrong part. They finally received the right part, but it didn't fit right, so they had to cut it down to size (what?). Finally ready...after 8 weeks. Thankfully, we live nearby and they were able to stay with us. I cannot imagine the financial issues this could have caused if we were not here. Finally...pick-up day. The slide will not come out all of the way. Long story short...Supplier sent the wrong part a second time. Instead of fixing the issue, they cut it down to fit as well as it would. The shop fiddled with it a bit and it is good enough that my folks are going to take it down south and get it actually fixed by a trusted shop. When my folks asked how it happened, Mom said that she felt talked down to as if she wasn't smart enough to understand. Completely unacceptable. Mom and Dad come north for 4 months a year. This year, their camper never left Camping World May through Sept. They lost out on their annual camping trip with their grandsons, 2 trips with friends that they've camped with for decades....all because Camping World couldn't get their stuff together.

Camping World - Worst buying experience of my life

1.0
Details
Purchased a camper from Camping World in Council Bluffs, Iowa two years ago. Basically would not let me leave without buying a maintenance contract. They pretty much wear you down until you submit to it. They main sales pitch is that you can cancel it at anytime and get your money back. They say use your camper for a couple of trips to make sure everything is working properly and then cancel the contract. I've been trying for 2 years to cancel that contract and they won't do it. I've sent emails, talked to the business manager, the finance manager they just keep giving you the run around. They also charge you a $1000 prep fee to basically wash your camper because that's about all they did to mine. Picked up my camper on a Friday night (was suppose to be afternoon but finance manager keep us in his office for 3 hours until we purchased maintenance contract) went camping that weekend A/C was not working right, found out condensing coil was plugged. Cleaned it out and worked properly after that. A couple of trips later was at a place I had to use battery for light and they would not last very long. After some trouble shooting found out the battery charging side of the power inverter was not working so I had to replace the power inverter. All stuff that I think should of been checked for that $1000 prep fee I paid. Had to take my camper back to Camping World twice to get the stuff fixed they were suppose to fix before I even picked it up. Would not recommend Camping World to anyone in a million years.

Camping World in North Little Rock, Arkansas - Will never do business again with these guys

Bought a 25,000 dollar camper from these guys, i have iwned it 2 months as of last monday. It has been in there shop for 6 of the 8 weeks i have owned it. Remind you it was a 2018 model!!! brand new. The door would shut when camper was level, took it back they screwed the whole door frame up so now they have to replace the whole door frame. While they were ordering parts they let us havr it back. So we went camping, this past weekend, the air conditioning went out, and breaker keeps flipping in camper ,and electric jack quit working. So took it over there sunday on my way back home. To drop it off for door frame to be replaced. So i told them about the breaker flipping. There answer was turn 1 or 2 things on at a time dont run everything at once. Oh i am sorry i spent 25,000 on a camper for everything to work when i got ready for it to. But now it is wednesday and i have called 5 times left voice mails snd service department want teturn my call so they are fixing to get to keep this camper. I would not advise anyone to do business with these guys. If you will be treated like i have.

Camping World in London, Ohio - Depressing

1.6
Details
We just purchased a "new Keystone Carbon 347 toy hauler" from camping world London,Oh. and what a disappointment. I should have seen the signs as when we showed up and they were just stating to service it, the generator was in already being worked on and the unit hadn't even been washed. They only had a week to prepare. Our walk through to show us about our unit lasted all of about 15 minutes. From which we got just enough info to get us out of there. When after the paper work was done we go to get the camper and discover some damage that had been conveniently blocked from view during walk through. To make things better on our way home we had total brake failure due to shorted wires at the rear axle. The A/C does not work and we got sent on the road with out any kind of license plate or registration. Best part is we can't even take it camping because of these MAJOR issues. We have trouble getting return calls or e-mail Just the same answer of we are trying to see what we can do. The answer always seems to be "These are manufacturing defects". Not impressed with the out the door inspection, the after the sale service, or what feels like total lack of who gives a crap after it leaves the lot.

Yep, stereotypical happening at camping world.

Totally screw up the experience on the biggest purchase you make in years and they will not own up to ANY part of it.

I supprrised they didn't blame you the customer for all that is wrong. CAMPING WORLD IS THE WORST PLACE TO PURCHASE ANYTHING.
