Camping World - Poor customer service

I purchased a 2017 Thor Vegas from and the house batteries were dead at the time . I did not realize this till I had taken the vehicle of the lot. Camping World stated it was Thor's problem and Thor said no it was Camping Worlds fault for not maintaining the batteries. The batteries had no manufactures marking so I was simply out the cost of new batteries. The dealership manager and service manager both felt since I had taken possession of the RV there was nothing they " could" ( I say would ) do. I subsequently had some warranty work that Thor required be done by them. It took 4 weeks to repair the windshield wipers , replace a vent in the dash, replace a door magnet and repair a drawer latch.

If there was a way to take this review into negative stars I would. I made the mistake of buying a brand new camper here and have regretted my decision from day one. To start with they delivered my camper with an incorrectly setup load level hitch. I took it back and they were supposed to order the correct part. Came in 2 weeks later to find they never even ordered the part. Next I brought trailer in for service as thermostat didn't work correctly and we discovered our first time out with trailer there were roaches living in the plumbing when it was delivered to us. Trailer was returned to us with the thermostat still not working and we were told there was nothing they could do about the roaches. This was supposed to be a brand new trailer! Circuit breaker then popped on the generator. Trailer is not 6 months old and under manufacturers warranty as well as the extended warranty we paid for. They charged me $70 to flip the circuit breaker back on and nothing more! For a trailer still under its manufacturers warranty!! I voiced my displeasure at being charged for a service while under warranty and they were rude in return and made it known they could really care less about me bringing my business back there. I regret ever having set foot on their property. If I were you I would head over to Dixie RV in LA. I would go ANYWHERE rather than bring your business here.

I agree 100% in that please, please, avoid Camping World in Olive Branch, Ms at all costs. It is just a miserable example of a complete disregard for the word SERVICE, they never return calls, never return texts, never return emails, and never do anything that they say they are going to do.

Here is a prime example of why I am a Pissed Customer also.

While our Class A RV sat on their lot they failed to lock the two entry doors and fortunately my wife needed some items she left on the RV so we went to pick them up, was a Sat and when we got there being a Saturday many people were walking through our RV as prospective buyers. Yes indeed my wife was pissed and of course we just got blown off by the staff.

Brief background , we live in this motorcoach full time while our home is being rebuilt because of mold in our HVAC unit. For 3 years we had been breathing in toxic mold spores which made our immune system to be compromised. On December 27, 2016 we left our home with just our keys and the clothes on our back. Our licensed environmental hygienist and our doctors advised us to remove ourselves from the mold in order to get well .. Fast forward to June 22nd of this year we paid nearly $3,000.00 for services at Camping World and received a water damaged coach with black mold from an improperly installed satellite system, an xm radio that doesn’t work properly due to the improper installation of the antenna and an annual maintenance package that was never performed even though they signed off on the work like it was performed. It’s now going on 4 months and still nothing has been done. We have been going back and forth trying to get them to repair the damage. After going to the media Camping World asked us to get an estimate, we did and when they saw the cost they changed the rules. The damage is around $15,000.00 without the cost of the remediation. Now they want to trade us out of our unit but there’s one problem. We found a “DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH “. We purchased a 2007 miles that was only used as a spare bedroom. None of the appliances were ever used. It was also stored in a rv garage. So it’s like we purchased a new coach. So to replace this coach you have to take the year out of the equation Camping World refused to do that so they won’t repair the coach and they can’t find us a coach comparable to ours. We have wasted our summer fighting with Camping World to do the right thing. The upper management hasn’t even taken the time to access the damage in person. We have sent pictures of the damage along with a protocol from our licensed environmental hygienist. Still nothing. Now our health is failing. My hair is falling out along with sores that bleed on my head and neck and chest. My husbands asthma is getting very bad. They just don’t care We just sent the an email stating that our licensed Hygenist told us that the amount of CHAETOMIUM we have in the coach is dangerous to our health and we shouldn’t be living in this coach. It needs to be repaired and remediatied. Camping World had the coach tested for mold and the person who did the test wasn’t a licensed mold assessor and read the report incorrectly. Camping World won’t listen to our Licensed Environmental Hygenist on why the test is incorrect. We have given Camping World a letter from our Hygenist and still nothing. We have a WE OWE YOU for the repairs to be done along with hotel stay from the first general manager. He was fired the day after he gave us the WE OWE YOU. CAMPING WORLD is making their decisions based on that false mold report, instead of owning up to the fact that their technician improperly installed the satellite system that caused WATER DAMAGE. The mold was the result of the water damage. We keep telling the forget about the mold. You caused water damage to our coach. Please fix it. We have gone to Camping Worlds headquarters in Bowling Green Kentucky and no one would see us or look at the coach. We just get emails. We were told the paperwork went to legal we haven’t heard from any legal. In my opinion I feel Camping World is racist. My husband is an BLACK MAN. In the world I grew up in if someone broke something they were responsible and the would fix it immediately. The conversation would have been. “Mr Jackson what can we do to make this right . Let us take your coach and we will put you and you wife up in a hotel until the situation is completed.” That did not happen. They have not even apologized for the damage instead we hav to fight daily for them to do the right thing It’s like you go and get an oil change for your car and they break the windshield. You don’t take the car home with a broken windshield. The fix it. What’s the difference. There isn’t That’s why I think it’s a racist issue. They wouldn’t even deal with my husband until I finally told the to deal with him not me We need help. We can’t live in this much longer. Were paying the mortgage on our home and the coach and were still living in a dangerous situation with mold The doctors won’t treat us until we’re living in a mold free environment. That was supposed to be this coach. Once this coached is repaired or replaced we still have to replace all our personal belongings because of the mold spores. I’m a flight Attendant and my hair falls out while I’m working and it’s hard to hide the sores. It’s very embarrassing and emotionally exhausting for myself and my husband. Purchased a new 2016 27ft Heartland Pioneer RB220 on February 20th 2017. Was just what we wanted! Supposedly went through their "cleanup and pre-delivery inspection" and we pulled it home to a storage lot (50miles) one way. A few days later a light snow fell and being proud of our new purchase, my wife took our adult children and grandchildren to see the trailer. The whole right side wall of the bedroom and the right side closet was wet from melting snow into the closet and wall. Heartland was very helpful and said they would replace the damaged materials and would ship everything to Camping World in Council Bluffs IA. We towed the unit back to Camping World and the "techs" came out and globed caulking on the right front roof area where the rubber roof contacted the front header. Damaged the exterior side wall with the ladder and sent us on our way saying they would call us when the replacement materials came in from Heartland. Mid April we were notified that the wall materials were in and to bring it back to Camping World. I was told it would be two weeks. . .a very long two weeks that was blamed on the original tech that now no longer works there and a loss of our work order and no up dates by the now terminated tech!!! Finally got it back and was able to take it on our first camping trip on the 24th of July. Thought all of this was behind us! Wrong. . .still have the leak and the new walls look as bad as they did before replacement. Not going to take it back there to be lied to for another 5 months! Have it scheduled at a BBB A+ rated RV service center in Valley NE. I'm going to pay to have it done myself since Camping World of Council Bluffs is not competent enough to complete the "warranty" work. I am very disappoint in them and feel stupid that I am paying for a 5 year service contract that I was roped into when I bought the trailer. Do not buy from them or have them service your camper if you have any thoughts of it getting done within a season or two or done right no matter how long you leave it there. Go someplace else and save the heartache of being lied to, talked down to by their service manger and after five moths of nothing but lip service, leave with the original problem still there plus their ladder and equipment damage that will always be a reminder of their incompetent and sloppy "technicians" !!!!

Call them and cancel your extended service contract. You can get some money back. Their extended service contracts are useless.

This wasn’t from their extended service contract. It was about services we paid for out of our pocket.

To this day they refuse to work with us I send emails everyday now for 4 months

Yesterday I had to go buy a wig because of the Mold causing my hair to fall out

They caused water damage due to the incompetence of their technician

They lie to your face, are deceptful, dishonest and simple a l *** poor company to deal with. Don't return calls, emails or text. Don't honor contracts. Replace parts only on paper. Parts never actually replaced. Keep your unit for weeks on end waiting for parts they never actually replace or intend to replace. Damage your unit while on their property and make you responsible to file an insurance claim for repairs. Never have i ever had to deal with such deceptful people in business. Good Sam ESP plan only good to wipe you *** with. Be warned. Stay clear.

Camping World - Poor overall workmanship and reliability

Since I purchased this RV from Camping World in Jacksonville, FL. I have had issues with it. On the trip home I lost all running lights on the trailer. So a few days later it went back for a fix. Told it was done. Had to evacuate for Hurricane Mathew, and once again I lose running lights. So back it goes again, this time they have it for 12 days. I am active duty Navy, so when I go to use the trailer again, I hit another rain storm, 4 hours from home and it happens again. SO Camping world takes the trailer apart to find numerous cut wires, exposed wires, and crimped wires between the floor and frame. Now I have a trailer the was almost completely torn down an put back together. Next issue is a leak from the hoses under the rear bunk house. I find the leak in the fresh water line and notice that there are eaten Sunflower seeds shells in the cabinetry under the sink, *** punched through the wall in the same area and metal shavings all over the place. I took pictures and will be sending them to the company. I am not impressed with this rig and feel nervous about using it with regards to over all safety.

We had a very enjoyable situation at Camping World

We bought a 2018 Jayco Eagle. The salesman, Ron Nielsen, helped us with every problem and we had a few (no fault of Camping World) We even had to drive over 100 miles to get the hard cover off of our truck to get the 5th wheel hitch attached to the truck bed. It is a very heavy cover and we are both in our later 70's and the service dept. at Wood Village had 2 employees from a Camping World closer to us come and help my husband get the lid off. Ron solved every problem we came up against. Casey Abbott in the finance dept.was also helpful and understanding. We had locked our credit down because of the problem with Equifax being hacked and it took awhile to get it unlocked bur he was very patient . Jon Stone parts manager was also a great help. It was raining the entire time we were there and they parked our trailers door to door under a covered breeze way while we transfer our things. There were a few small items that needed attention and the fixed them right away. Our entire experience at Camping World in Wood Village was great. THANKS TO EVERY ONE THERE. Brought a brand new fifth wheel, with 7 year warranty. Leaked from day 1, do you think they would fix it *** no, than when my interior lights go out, they charge me too fix them, knowing the leak caused it, I asked if I could go on top of my camper with them to see the problem, no cant do that so they will take a picture and show it to me, kept insisting let them fix it after I've paid them 1100.00 dollars to seal it and fix it. wanted another 300.00, I told them no I'm going to get a professional. the picture they showed me looked like putty was cracking, i told them there is no way my camper leaked that much with a few cracks in the seal. Hired a private RV repair man, he could not believe his eyes, a bevel in the rubber roof, and looks like a kindergartner, spreed mud all on the seal, not at all the picture they showed me.

I cannot at this time explain my issue openly. I am asking Camping world gets back with me. I have called twice and Camping world is not taking this seriously. I did explain to Glen, the rep that answer the phone. Glen advised me a team would get back with me asap. No one has contacted me. I do not at this time want to talk with anyone in ref. to my situation unless they are upper management. This matter pertains to more that one camping world employee lying and stealing. Trying to cover up a mistake that was made and damage caused by camping world.

Camping World in Byron, Georgia - Bad Service and management could care less

When we started coming here 3 years ago to have our RV's serviced we thought Camping World in Byron GA was great. Unfortunately now we would tell you to go anywhere but here for your service. In the last 6 months we've had to return 6 different times because they didn't correctly repair the item. It's a 3 hour round trip for us. We spoke to the service manager who basically did nothing. Left two messages for the General Manager and he NEVER called. They had management changes a while back and it seems as if they weren't for the better, at least not where the customer is concerned. So instead of singing their praises, which is what we used to do, we now send people someplace else. The one shining light is Andy, our service writer. We believe he actually cares about our concerns but can only do so much.
