Camping World Service Is the Worst!!!

I purchased a new Outdoors RV camp trailer from Camping World on November 2016, and used it a few times. The second time out the rear leveling jack would not retract with either the remote, or toggle switch in the front storage compartment. The jacks are electric, and would extend, but the rear would not retract, other than manually. I had a few other minor issues, so in August I made an appointment at Camping World to have these taken care of. I wanted to get it done so I could use it after the Labor Day weekend, and before the warranty expired. A week after taking it in I called for a status, and they never returned my phone call, so I went in. They told me that they had not looked at it yet, and would let me know as soon as they fixed it. I ask why they hadn't done anything, when I make an appointment for the prior week, and the service guy told me that an appointment was to get me a drop off time, where they would put me in line to be worked on when they got to it. I had the impression that other non-warranty work was prioritized first, as it paid more money. After over five weeks, with repeated phone calls, and several visits they finally told me that they had looked at it, and determined that it was the toggle switch, which they didn't have, and would have to order, and I could pick-up and install it myself, as it was relatively easy to replace. I had my doubts that the switch was the culprit, because the jack functioned the same with switch or the remote, but I followed their instruction. I picked-up the switch the following week and replaced it, and just as I thought, it didn't solve the problem!! I took it back to them, because I wanted it fixed on warranty, and again after another four and one-half weeks they finally told me that they looked at it, and it worked. According to them, it just started working, and they logged it as interment. They told me that if and when it quit again I should bring it back, and they would try and fix it. Why would I ever want to bring it back to such a bunch of absolute incompetents with the non-customer servicer attitudes they have?? After a total of 9 weeks, numerous visits and phone calls, changing the switch myself, and extremely poor communication from them, I will never step my foot inside there again. I do not understand how a place like this is actually able to stay in business. The only thing they want to do is sell RV's, and do pay for service at super-high price rates. I needed some parts to finish outfitting my unit, and found a independent RV shop, which I really like. When I told me of my experience with Camping World, they said that they had many customers that had come to them because of similar or worse experience with Camping World, and found that as a good source of business.

Camping World - Not happy

Check your paperwork carefully before signing. It was our fault but took the salesmans word on figures. When we got home found out we didn't get as much for our trade in as we thought. Found added paperwork charges. First time we took it camping after having it for only 3 weeks the electric didn't work. Had to use battery power. Took back to dealer with electric issue and other small issues. Had to keep calling dealer to update us on progress. They kept telling us it was a problem with warranty, even though it was only 3 weeks old. Brought to dealer end of April and didn't get it back till 2nd week of June. Then there was a problem with title and registration! They didn't send paperwork in tell August to tag office. So late fees were applied. Thank goodness the dealer wrote us a check for monies owed. Poor communication from loan manager. Won't take back there to get anything fixed even though under warranty.

Camping World - Worst CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

It has officially been more than 30 days that Campind World of St.Augustine has had our brand new 2017 Zinger travel trailer . We purchased this unit new in July and have only camped 1 time before our awning blew up unexepectedly and not due to wind or weather. I have had nothing but failed attempts when trying to reach upper management or corporate to have our case escalated. By the way we were assured by both the dealership and keystone repairs were warranty and would be covered. I have left multiple voice mails for the GM and called CW corporate.. we have been given the run around and are officially pissed. We will be seeking legal help if this is not resolved .

Camping World in Katy, Texas - Do not buy anything from them!

While traveling, we stopped at Katy Tx location. I had just paid for a membership to receive discounts at RV Parks and small discounts on products, parts, etc. We ask for a technical advice as we just purchased a new satellite and wanted the smaller receiver. We were told that I needed this extra remote to operate tv in bedroom. We installed ourselves as it was simple installation but immediately found that we were misinformed on needing this remote. The tv in bedroom only a few steps away in rv, operates with the livingroom one! I called store to find out how to handle the return as we opened package on 2nd remote but it WAS NOT used or needed. This was my first dealing with Camping World and my last. I called and was promised return calls until receipt expired to return item. Only 30 days giving. I called managers who were never available so you must leave a message. I called DM and left him a message and still no return call. I left probably 5 different managers and never received 1 call back! So beware if you buy ANYTHING and have an issue that you will not get a resolve! Best to stick to mail order as you can talk to a customer service rep and they will handle it on the phone but not Katy Tx store! Very disappointed!

Camping World - Unprofessionalism at it's finest!!!

Been trying since April 2017 to get my camper fixed since it was not this way when we bought it at an RV Show. First, they screwed up our paperwork and never sent it in. Then a month and 1/2 later we had to sign all new paperwork since they had to get another lender because of not sending in the original paperwork At that time the GM of Wauconda store started TEXTING me threatening texts for THEIR mistake. Then that idiot quit and I could not get a return call from anyone including an acting GM!!! Finally spoke with someone in parts (Matt Kramer) on June 2,2017 and sent him pics of all the issues that I sent the GM who quit and did nothing. He said he would take care of it. I sent numerous emails and called repeatedly with NO call back! On 10/24/17 Spoke to Matt again and he admitted to doing NOTHING and not filing the claim. Also said he would call me to let me know that it was submitted. It is now 11/3/17 and I talked to someone in parts because apparently you can not talk to anyone in the warranty department according to this guy. They never asked my name, but because of caller ID they knew who I was. This guy said that the claim is pending but them came back and said he couldn't use the computer to give me a claim # and that he saw my name on their work board! I asked how he knew it was pending if he didn't actually see ANYTHING in the computer!!! I am now seeking help from the news stations and then an attorney!!! Everyone at this store needs to be fired as they aren't fit to tie a shoe let alone help a customer!!!

If they had to get a new bank it sounds like your credit is the problem. Manufacturers are not going to approve warranty claims based on pictures a customer took.

You went to a show because you thought you could save money instead of dealing with your local camping center that would "rip you off" by making a fair profit.

How did it work out for you? Not so good I guess.

Camping World - Won't go back

We were shopping for a new 5th wheel in Mesquite, Texas. Didn't realize the place had changed from Nichols RV to Camping World until we were inside. We asked if their store was affiliated with the Camping World store in Denton, Texas. When told that it was, we asked if they were aware that the C.E.O of their company had made a public statement, saying that Trump voters were not welcome in his stores. We were given the run-around and told some obvious untruths about his policies. Once past that unpleasant episode, we shared some of the problems we were having with our trade-in and were told they couldn't help us. We went up the road to Holiday world and purchased a really nice 5th wheel. It was a pleasant sales experience. We will never visit Camping World again.

Unsatisfied customer with Camping World

I ordered an awning on October 10, 2017, from Camping World in Golden Colorado. At that time I was told they would have to order the awning and set my installation appointment for November 27. I am an Good Sams Elite Member and thought that was pretty good as I leave to go south for the winter at the end of December. I received a call a couple of weeks ago to confirm the appointment and that the awning had arrive. Today November 2nd I received a call that I would have to be rescheduled. I said okay when would that be. He said it would have to after the 1st of the year. I told him I would not be here and needed something before the first of the year. He said do you want to reschedule the appointment for after the 1st of the year. I said impossible as I will not be here. He said do you want to cancel your order or schedule after the 1st of the year. I told him how many time do I have to tell you that I will not be here. He said do you want to cancel and I said yes. Going in to see the Manager tomorrow. The Fire Marshal said they had to clear out some inventory before they could service anymore customers. My advice is to "move the excess inventory to another lot to make room to service their customers" or "if you cannot service your customers you had better stop selling". You are going to lose those customers and that will come back and bite them. They will no longer have an inventory to worry about!!!!! I had heard they were hard to schedule with so plan for plenty of time. I thought I did. Going in three months in advance and then getting moved back another month and a half. Unacceptable!!! If I could rate them it would be a minus 5 stars.

Camping World in Saukville, Wisconsin - Poor Customer Service

Every Time you make an appointment for service, they tell you when to bring your RV in. They do not give it back to you for 4 to 5 weeks or longer. Dose not matter if it is a small problem or large, warrenty or not. If you call to speak with someone in service. They are to busy to answer the phone and do not call you back. I have cancelled trips because Camping world still had you RV when they said it would be done. I took my RV in for warrenty work and someone ran into it. I waited three weeks to have some minor interior problems fixed. Went on a planned trip and then had to take it back for several weeks to fix the exterior body damaged that happened when they had it. I bought from Camping World because, I liked the RV on line. When I told them my concerns about their poor service reviews. They assured me things have changed and Camping world is doing better. They are NOT!

Things at camping world will never be corrected, it's too big of a mess to sort out. Too many managers breathing down the necks of too many new untrained employees.

Camping world and it's corporate office and Wentzville store are completely unprofessional. They do not reply to calls or emails, and there pioneer camping line is junk, I camped in mine for 2 days and the walls came apart, the sink lines leaked and destroyed the cabnets, lights didn't work, water heater didn't work. Decals were coming unstuck.. The list goes on. And there camp sites with good Sam's are a joke they change the membership prices all the time and the staff at the campgrounds are for the most part rude. They do not do good business or care about there customers, I would never recommend anything about the stores or the company as a whole. And takes months to get anything fixed. Here are just a few pictures of my new 2018 pioneer.

Typical Heartland camper construction. Would never buy a Heartland manufactured camper.

My best friend bought a Heartland 5th wheel. It has been at dealer for 13 of 16 months since purchase.

You have failed Complaining 101.

Communicating your displeasure via calls and e-mails is inadequate and usually incomplete.

You must initiate such contact in writing and provide to the appropriate address via Certified Mail return receipt requested.

You will then have an ironclad timeline in case you don't get results.

Be direct - be concise - be polite.

List items in order of severity. State the solution you desire.

Try to keep the letter to one sheet face only. It's OK to whine and carp here but it won't help you get anything done.

P.S. When you write that letter, use spell check and also watch out for homonyms like there, their, and they're.

Camping World - Avoid This Place

Rv was in for service May 1. 6 month old RV bought at their store. They had it for the month. 3 things were on the repair list. Hot water heater was the main issue I had been trying to get them to fix the the entire month of April. Voice messages were ignored, promises to call back weren't kept. We set up our RV this week and discovered the water heater situation unchanged. I was told there was nothing about this being worked on in my file. We are set up in a rural area and do not have the ability to bring it in. The service manager seems to think I have nothing better to do than run in and out and try and fix it via a phone call. My husband and son are currently trying to fix it. He also made no effort to get back to me after I emailed photos Monday. I had to call him 24 hours later to remind him I still existed. He needs to learn how not to talk to women. I would give them a negative review if I could. Calls to general manager went unanswered. Receptionist hung up on me when I said I was calling their corporate office. A reputable business would apologize and send a technician out to remedy the situation. The only competent person there is their driver Gene.
