Camping World - How long do you wait before you hire a lawyer

Well it is Decemeber now. I delivered my camper to Camping World in February and there is no way I will see it before January. It was left for warranty work; burnt wire, roof sealant, air vent, ripped couch, broken dump valve handle. Maybe a couple other small things. I have been to the store 3 times to “pick up my ready to go camper”. Not even close any of those times. I drive 2 hours one way each time. Not only have they completely left me wasting my time but the first time I went, my new couch?, it had been cut across the back cushions of the couch. The seemed to be trying to hand me a couch that was known to be cut. Since its been there, it sustained damage to the outside of the camper shell. Many scratches and some dents. And they are obvious one too. We are considering hiring a lawyer and getting camping world to buy it or at the very least pay for the last years worth of payments. The one good thing I can say is they made up for the couch by replacing it with a recliner to match my other. After many many requests. Flustered

Lol.. Thats standard operating procedure for Camping World.. Watch out they will "borrow" parts from your unit while it's there to fix other units..

DO NOT BUY PARTS ONLINE FROM CAMPING WORLD unless you have a couple of weeks to wait. They charged my credit card 2 days after the order (which they are not allowed to do re: VISA/MC credit card terms). After 2 emails to Camping World and one week after I ordered I'm informed that it will be dropped shipped maybe in 2 more days. Hopefully I will receive this item 2 weeks after ordering. Totally unacceptable in today's e-commerce world. Also be aware that online prices are typically lower than in store. If you do go to a store to purchase take a print out of the item from online. They will honor the online price in the store if you can show them it is lower. Possibly Mr Lemonis should spend some time with the company he owns rather that being a TV star wannabe.

Camping World - Customer Service sucks

We could not of been any happier with the sales experience. Misty was great and helped us through the entire process but once their was a problem they want nothing to do with you. Ours was a cash deal, no paperwork, no waiting. Spending over $50,000 I thought would mean something but not to them. They continued to push us from person to person and everyone had an excuse on why things were not getting done. Rear awning over the toy hauler delivered not working - drove over an hour - twice - to get it fixed only to be told they had to reorder a new one - which we asked them to do in the beginning. Cover that was included did not fit and now we are waiting, again for a replacement one. Getting a phone call back is asking for a miracle, nobody gets messages, or so we are told. Service department was rude and disrespectful. After speaking to a manager, we were told someone would make it right and contact us. Well here we are, 4 months later and still waiting. Our last 3 RV's were purchased from Buffalo and we thought buying closer to home would be better if service was ever needed well guess what - We will never be doing another purchase from Camping World in Syracuse.

If it would not have been for the new service manager at the Spokane store. We would still be waiting for warranty work to get done. Call Travis the new service manager he does a terrific job.

Placed a multi-thousand dollar order on campingworld.com. The day the order should have arrived, I still had not even received my shipping confirmation. A call to customer service promised a call back. No call back was received. Another call to customer service, and I was told the person I needed to talk to was busy and can't talk to me, but they would call. With this going into its second week, there is now no way for the products to get to me on time. The credit card transaction was confirmed by my bank on day of the purchase, so there is no issue there. My gut feeling is they sold out and are trying to hold out until replacement product arrives. Yet the web site still shows product being in stock. What a farce. The person at camping world that could clear this up could probably do so in 2 minutes. Well, I can see where customers stand at campingworld.com. Fortunatlely, the charge in on my CC so it can be cancelled and I can buy the product locally.

Terrible Experience with Camping World

Terrible experience with Camping World. I located online a 2011 Winnebago View available for sale from Camping World of Minneapolis. Contacted the dealer and was repeatedly assured by phone, email (see example below) and text messages as it related to the condition of the unit being sold that "this is an AWESOME motorhome with 51k miles, no body damage, no pets, no stains, no odors, no interior damage. It is in very good shape and overall just a great used coach!" I asked repeatedly if there was any evidence of roof leaks or other problems, and again assured no problems whatsoever. We agreed on price, which included paying them nearly $1,000 for "a pre delivery inspection" that "goes through all major system components functions and operations to ensure that everything works and will work when you come in to take delivery of the coach. The technician that does the PDI will spend an hour and half or longer with you showing you how everything works and that everything does work and function properly." I then gave them a $2,000 deposit by credit card, picked up a cashier’s check and booked a flight for the next day. Arrived at the dealership and kept inside for over 30 minutes (felt like they were hiding something). The unit was NOT as represented. There were lots of problems, most significant being evidence of multiple roof leaks (confirmed by their technician (I have lots of photos)), missing one of the roof fairings and the roof mounted HVAC unit almost detached (the technician told me he was instructed NOT to repair the HVAC and when I asked him why, he replied, "you would be surprised at what I am told not to fix"). So much for the $1,000 PDI to "ensure that everything works and will work when you come in to take delivery of the coach". The salesman (Kyle Hardy) had his supervisor Brian (or Bryan) (the Manager (David) was off that day), look at the unit and they both came in and explained that it certainly was not as represented, but that they could not do anything about it as it was a consignment. The salesman later said multiple times he felt like "a real ***". When I asked what they were going to do to offset my time and travel expenses (I had to buy a return flight back to Salt Lake City) resulting from their misrepresentations, the Supervisor said he would talk to the Manager (mentioned Camping World gift cards) and get back to me. That was over 9 days ago and not a word, despite my having left messages for the salesman, his boss and the manager. My advice, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CAMPING WORLD, I believe they are dishonest.

Camping World - Finally on good feet

I purchased my camper from a gentleman named Alex at the Davenport, IA store. Or at any point in my almost 50 years of buying toys has anyone listened to exactly what I wanted and showed me what they have. The salesman usually tries to sway me to something they like. For the level of professionalism he showed me, I was blown away. Will continue shopping at this store as long as Alex is still around. He expressed a desire to grow with the company, and I feel he deserves the recognition. Thanks again for your level of customer service.

Camping World - Horrible place

Received a gift card from family when we bought our camper. Ordered a toilet which took 2 weeks just to ship. Next order online would not let us use our gift card so we used our credit card. When we called customer service they didn’t want to credit our card for the gift card. It took three phone calls all of which took no less than a 25 minute wait for someone to answer before it was resolved! One of the phone calls the lady was so frustrated with saying no to us just hung up on us. Horrible place and would not use them if it wasn’t for our gift card.

Camping World in Concord, North Carolina - Slide Out Problem

Fifth wheel is less than two years old. Cable on bedroom slide snapped. Called Camping World in Concord, NC. Took it to them on a Monday in Sept. Service guy filled out paper work; never looked at the problem. They had it for 5 days. Called; said they need to replace both cables on the slide. Cost would be $1100.00. What - just to replace two cables that cost less than $200. After objection on my part the cost was $900. Didn't like it , but needed my RV back. Contacted Forest River ( who were very good to deal with ) and received $400 reinbursment for labor cost. BTW - also had to replace the tires for sidewall cracking. Will seek other options if another repair needs to be done.
