Camping World - Corporate just does not care about their customers

In the 5 1/2 years I have owned my RV, camping world has had it for almost 2 years. It is because they take so long to diagnose, repair and it is ALWAYS necessary for me to bring it back for the same problem at least 2, mostly 3 or 4 times. On insurance jobs they get paid and do not do the work. I call it fraud or is it just ineptness? I think we should all get together using motor home magazine and trailer life and file a class action suit against their incompetence. Each time it has to go back costs me time and money (gas) and when they keep it so long, the carburetor gets clogged from not running it and my batteries run down. Inevitably something else also goes wrong, like my stairs stopped working , guess because they did not think to put them out and just keep going in and out running regulator. I could get specific---three times to fix same slide out, three times to fix body--they just ignored doing a section then only painted it and not repaired dents, another time with fresh water tank disaster form blown tire, they charged insurance for new tank, lines , paint and did not replace or do the work (fraud?). Then when I picked it up second time, found no water in unit..guess they did not pop the hole inn tank, but certainly they do not check their work. Bottom line , they have no quality assurance and I have written and spoken with corporate and no response. a monopoly with a CEO who just makes..a "profit".

I hope that you have decided to quit using them?

Would you go to a restaurant that you keep getting food poisoning at?

Just stop using them, or you can learn to fix things yourself.

I agree...i stopped going to camping world in st augustine, fl..tried jax...they really are all the same poorly managed, poorly supported by corporate

Employees get little and therefore give little.

Camping World worst service I’ve ever seen Indianapolis
On July 26th I sent an email to the Indianapolis Camping World to resolve my warranty issues. In August I sent them another email to confirm that they would take care of my issues. One light bulb out, a usb plug didn’t work, my heater didn’t work and a peice of trim was cracked. I delivered it to them on October 26th 2017 on November 30thi was told it was done. ( 34 days to fix something and all of the parts were there) when I arrived at the store to pick up my camper. I noticed the spare tire cover was ripped and the spare tire was loose and almost falling off. They lifted the unit up so high and drug it across the parking lot bending the entire spare tire holder. Then denied that they did anything. They tried to tell me that they put a new tire on the unit and a new spare tire holder. This is not true. We looked at the pictures from the day it happened and they used the same tire. When I arrived home I noticed that they didn’t actually complete all of the repairs.

Camping World in Dothan, Alabama - Awful experience attempting to repair RV

Camping World of Dothan Alabama had our 2016 Heartland Gateway fifth wheel for 9 months with a list of 20 things to repair. The major problems were not fixed just patched over. Over the patch we have mold and rotting wood. Do not use Camping World!!! Customer service was awful. They would never call us back we had to call them several times in one day or several times in one week to get an update on the service to the RV. Now the warranty has expired while they were keeping it for 9 months. Camping World tells us that we have to get Heartland to pay for any repairs now. Heartland says since it was poor workmanship Camping World needs to pay for the repairs. Camping World refuses to make the repairs that they did poorly or just failed to do. Now we are in a bind with a camper that leaks and has mold.

That is the normal chain of events at Camping World service departments.

Sometimes they actually do get it right, but not very often.

Camping World thinks we do not have Consumer Rights

We took my camper in the end of April to Camping World of Biloxi. They made the appointment and we brought it in for a leak, they found another. My insurance, State Farm, sent them a check for the Insurance work in June. All this time the camper was never covered, I was informed that I had to supply tarps and bungee cords for securing the tarps, but do not expect them back as things get stolen. George, the service manager there, tells me I have to taro the unit myself, now this is a 40 foot 5th wheel and I am disabled. I told him you do not want me falling off the unit on your property, he said not his problem. Had to get the Store Manager to make Service tarp my unit. It had already sat untarped during our rainiest season, now it sits arrows and moist during the heat. No parts are ever ordered. I had to call Open Range myself, this was August, and tell George and Kaitlyn that the parts were never ordered. Finally the parts were ordered but did not get put on till November. In the mean time my camper has molded, mildewed, walls are pulling away from the inside, wood trim is falling off or warped and trim work is falling off and my refrigerator has rusted inside. I went to the BBB, Mississippi Attorney General and filed complaints. I am now going to go to see if a Consumer Protection Attorney can do anything. Camping World has stayed it was all my fault, they had the unit 7 months and they neglected it, definitely did not look like that when I took it in. Rob, the store manager told me how to put *** in the roof so that I can get more insurance work done or have it totaled out. This is how they operate. Time to prove them wr9ong, everyone needs to file complaints, make them accountable.

Camping world is a joke I will never ever buy anything from them again, the service dept will not follow through on anything , take months to get in then months before your RV is still not ready they will not do anything they agree to do and you call them to find out what is going on they never call you back you’ll call again and again they say they’ll call you and another day goes by no call the worst company I’ve ever seen still in business..

Just a warning to the consumers do not bring your RV here for service. The service manager Stephanie is so unprofessional and very very nasty. I can't believe that the owners do not know how she represents their company, it is terrible the way she treats the customers. There are other places that will treat you with much more respect. I am going to be making a complaint with the Better Buisness also.

You should call Good Sam themselves skip the finance people! If I missed that I’m sorry!

Camping World sold my husband and I a fifth wheel as brand new it’s had over 25 problems still not useable.

Jayco manufacturer still refuses to assist! Camping World Good Sam and Jayco are scamming people!

Camping World - Huge mistake!

After reading all of the complaints not sure it really makes a diffrence. Bought a Jayco 28 days ago from Camping World and now realize what a mistake. One week after I bought it started having many issues. Took it back for repairs and it started! It being the crapy service that makes Camping World so famous. Why can't Camping World realize that campers are not cheep. Olny a small % of people buy campers. Your *** most of them off. If i ran my company like these folks I would have closed down years ago. The service in Byron Ga is horrible. I should have listened!

Yes, camping world is the worst place to purchase an RV.

I hear it everyday from people who also should have listened.

I'm not sure why people don't listen but once you've made your choice, you are stuck.

Had a couple choose to buy from CW instead of me last month, now they are MISERABLE. I asked them why they bought there instead of me, " it was just more convenient because they are open on Sunday, we would of had to take time off from work to get it."

Well they got it alright, 15 year loan on a POS Coleman trailer that was not checked over and will now sit in the CW service cesspool for 6 months.

To bad for them, they now want to trade it in to me, but I sure as *** don't want it, I mean it flooded due to a BAD water line leak and is to me at least, ruined.

Camping World in Lafayette, Louisiana - RV service

I had problems with my towed vehicle lights. I went into the camper world at Lafayette Louisiana. After two hours and $187 later. They told me it was fixed. I hooked up my towed vehicle the next day and it didn’t work. I went back to the camper world and was told it was a different issue. I don’t understand. At first they said it was a fuse and I looked it up and it was the wrong fuse. I expected a refund but was not giving it. This is absolutely wrong! They could not tell me about the connections or why the fuse that looked OK was not OK. It’s a scam. I would like my money back
